Calle La Atarazana 2, Santo Domingo 10212, Dominican Republic, Neiba
Cafes with patios look out on this historic plaza that hosts art shows, concerts & other events.
This is a historical place, in this place is the "Alcazar de Colón", there are many good restaurant around and often they have many culture activities and for Christmas you always should see a big Christmas tree 🎄 and even you could find a concert sometimes .This place normally have many people around, tourists and local, very secure due tourist police and a good view of the river and ocean, you might see sometimes a cruise or two in the ocean. This place literally is the first city build by Spain in America.
The location of the hotel is nice, in the center of colonial zone. So its very safe and convenient to make a stay. The hotel room is not big but okay if you dont spend too much time in the room. The free breakfast is not too bad. The receptionists are friendly. However, there is only a white sheet as a quilt. Its a bit noisy in the night (downstairs there are shows and crowds every night).
Beautiful place to enjoy it with family and friends
Great place to people watch, had fun watching the kids
Loved the area and how many attractions are all in that area. We felt safe and enjoyed the walk through the streets.
Good historic place, to spend a weekday taking in what Santo Domingo has to offer .....a must visit.....
A nice historical place to visit in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
The place is so appealing to the history of the city, located in colonial zone at the bank of the river where cruise ships stop. It has statue of the founder of the city and a large open field for events and parties, surrounded by Alcazar, Royal houses and restaurants. You can drive to this place from Punta Cana which is 2 and half hour nice drive or get bus tour to visit this place.Place is little dirty on the side, with lots of garbage disposals including plastic water bottles. City must pass the law to restore this heritage.
Learned about the history of Santo domingo today on a tour. It was well worth the money and time.
Beautiful place, with amazing restaurants surrounding it. We went for the Jovar interactive art exhibit, and we had a blast... definitely recommend!
A great historical place, visit is a must, excellent environment. You can go any hours through the day and youll find something to do there. Recommended for family, groups, or romantic dating.
You can see everything in an hour or two.
Lots of history in this area. Cant go wrong coming here.
Beautiful surroundings but lots of pan handlers. Even of people appear friendly at first... the request for money is usually coming soon.
Beautiful historic plaza, plenty to see, good food options
Very nice public place inside the colonial zone, great maintenance
Romantic place and also great place to go eat on sundays 😊

Plaza de Espana is the biggest and main square of old town (Zona ColonialSD.It is set just by the first royal residence (Alcazarin the Americas. Therere several restaurants/bars around it, which are pleasant to refresh with a drink and enjoy the beauty around you.
Historical and excellent outdoor place. Bring your kids for play or just sit, feel the fresh air and talk to family or friends.
Love it! Nice environment, view, walk around and wonder. Worth visiting during the day and night
Beautiful historical plaza. Alcazar de Colón is the main attraction but it is a very nice place to ride a bicycle, walk, etc. There is also live music for free in the plaza and nice restaurants.

Beautiful open space to enjoy some sun and culture.
Quite nice early-morning running trail. Filled up with historical landmarks. Could be cleaner, but progress in that regard keeps on going and its already noticeable.
Walking around the first city of the New World and being able to imagine life as it was 500 years ago is such a grand experience. Hotel Billini is an earthly paradise.
What a great place to visit. Amazing and historic. Just to walk around and see history was awesome. A must see in the Dominican Republic.
Huge plaza in front of Columbus palace. It host many events throughout the year. CocaCola installs a huge Xmas tree here every year.Around it you can find great restaurant options to enjoy a nice meal with the view and take shelter from the sun.
Beautiful plaza, around the corners are Alcazar de Colon and Museum of the Royal Houses.
"Colonial Zones" main square. Great for catching up a great concert, activity or just passing by a cool evening with friends. Surrounded by a lot of eating and drinking places, among a lot of touring/cultural landmarks. One of the "hearts" of the area.
The old center of town and governing area for Dominica Republic. Lovely history, even if most of it has been rebuilt over the years.
Dont miss the most historical locations in the Carribean. This plaza is the center of European culture in the Americas.
Good place to be around and to get to know a bit of our cultural richness. Cool restaurants near by!
Beautiful, open plaza in the heart of Old Sto Dgo with historical monuments around. Nice cafe restaurants perfect for a drink while touring the area
A great place by day and night. I like the security in this place, the restaurant and bar clóse to It.
This place was full of history and my kids truly enjoyed the fact that we could rent a headset which translated the information from each room into their preferred language. Loved it! Visiting thos place on Dominican Independence Day 2/27 was a true honor and a beautiful site!
Very nice place... that old walls give you so many feelings...
Beautiful architecture! The history was is astounding. A fantastic tour of the castle. Our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed our tour. Good food and a bit of shopping to end our day.
Amazing city! 1st cathedral in the Western Hemisphere, first port in the Western Hemisphere, 1st street in the Western Hemisphere. Simply amazing!
Great time there knowing a little bit of history, a lot of great pictures in places older than half a millennia, the home of Christopher Colombus son takes your breath away, lots of restaurants are near, and Avenida el Puerto is a couple of minutes, zona Colonial will also be in the area, lots of museums to visit and spend probably a whole day getting some knowledge about the countrys history.
The plaza is old spanish colony style for their monks and army forces. It has some affordable bar with terrace both indoor and outdoor. When the night falls it has a lively ambience with life shows very often presenting local and international artists.
Great place to get cultural experience. The place is really nice at night.
Great plaza, excellent views. Nice area to eat out, enjoy a cocktail or to walk around. Did I say you can get great coffees and very cold beers🍺🍻
This is a "must visit" spot for any tourist visiting Santo Domingo. It is filled with historical structures, and you can see how one of the oldest Spanish colonies in the western hemisphere was laid out, and how it felt. In the immediate area, you will find many little restaurants, little shops you can find decent gifts at, and many other historical sites. It gets really crowded on weekends, as the locals like to go to have a good time in that area.
nice place to go visit with the family. lots of restaurants near by
