Plaza de Recreo Santiago R. Palmer in Caguas
Description
Nice location fun to walk around and see the fish and parrots
Beautiful place for the children and families 👪They have movies nights for the kids 🎬 on weekends & Carousel 🎠 They have a couple kiosks with coffee ☕️ soda popcorn 🍿 hamburgers 🍔 fries 🍟 Pattys of pizza chicken and more
MoreWe passed a Sunday night and the plaza had a big screen playing a cartoon movie for the kids. The mayor of Cidra does this on weekends for the unprevilaged children. Nice gesture from his part. The plaza is used for festive activities with live music. When we visited there were Christmas decorations installed. A maintenance crew cleaning around 11 pm.
MoreI went during hurricane fiona at night so everything was closed and there was no power. Regardless, I could still see how well its been maintained and how much its advanced. Looked very clean and had very nice artwork and kiosks available.
MoreOld fashioned plaza for peaceful hangout with family and children.
Great place to enjoy a very good coffee.
Its a nice area, but for someone who was born and raised there, it has changed big time. Most of the stores and restaurants are closed during the weekdays. There are two souvenir stores but one of them closes on Sundays. And then theres an Always 99 store thats kinda similar to a Family dollar in the US. Not worth the drive if you arent from there.
MoreSaturday"s night activity is a blast@!!
Nice place to have a good time or just relax.
Very peaceful and safe. Nice place for a walk.
Some shopping and music around. Appears they were setting up for an event but nothing really going on while we were there.
MoreMy town throughout the years this Plaza has changed my Grandmother use to tell me in her years it was full of easy women. Then for my Moms years it was the meeting place for the young and the men will walk one way and the women the other day so they can look at each other and meet....the in my times there were a lot of stores and was always full of people mostly dirty. I also remember there were turtles in an enclosure and I think there was a monkey. In all now is a nice place to walk with the family....
MoreIts beautiful with 2 great souvenirs shops. Also a macaw in the center of the plaza. So much fun!
MoreGreat to walk around and, at night, you can take pictures on the various lighted spots.
MoreIdeal to spend a dsy at the beach. Not so crowded.
Recently I went with my husband and there is a kiosk that have "pastelillos de carne pero envueltos en mezcla de bacalaitos". Sorry my friends but only puertoricans will understand what I mean. Dont know how to translate. Is in one of the extremities of the Plaza. Excellent night family environment.
MoreExcellent place 👌. Nice activities every weekend for the kids 👍.
Is a beautiful place, surrounded by a lot of places to visit and learn. The plaza gets adorned with theme items depending on the season or holiday
MoreWe love this place! Fun to walk around and enjoy watching people or reading a book. Love to watch the three McCaws in the cage. They are named Hortencia, Hugo and Jose Maria! Kings cream on the corner has the best ice cream in Puerto Rico! There sorbet is vegan friendly and delicious. My favorite it tamarind and pina and parcha!
MoreAt the center of every town theres a plaza a gathering place with benches, trees and other decor distinctive of that town. We corn ice cream topped with cinnamon powder and strolled be thru the plaza. It was nice!
MoreJust a little place to go eat something and relax
Nice cheap little souvineer place you need to spend a month or two to learn about the Island but you need to do your homework on companies or people but we did and enjoyed every minute we had there
MoreReally bigIt has a very family friendly atmosphere they even have some coffe ships and stuff like tahy you will enjoy your visit
MoreGreat place to eat and shop for souvenirs.
At night its beautiful, during the day you see how deteriorated and how unfriendly it is for people with handicaps... The Mayor needs to take care of this STAT!!!!
MoreNice plaza. Has some places to eat. Good place for the family.
I absolutely love the atmosphere. It’s a shame that the bookshelves are upheveled though. It’s such a lovely tourist spot and plenty of security around.
MoreThis is a huge Plaza maybe the biggest in Puerto Rico. The store owners are amazingly friendly and informative. We were very impressed with the town. Museums are nice and free!
MoreOne of beautiful town in PR :notting much to do but still good !
Beautiful plaza! Loved all the trees and particularly enjoyed the guacamayos. So pretty! Had coffee and empanadillas at a little stand. Very nice as well.
MorePlaza Palmer in Caguas is well kept, clean and it feels safe to be at. It looks very pretty. On weekends there is lots of activities, music, food, merry-go-round, little bikers, skaters and Security. Recommended, visit Caguas.
MoreNice to walk and have small children rising bikes or skating. Great coffee shop and kids carousel. Its looking clean and nice.
MoreTheyve done a nice job making the plaza very welcoming. The church and the other main buildings are in great condition.
MoreWe actually were there at night, but been there at daytime as well. Its a very nice place with fountains and benches to hang out with friends, and feel a nice fresh breeze, also they have a place that sells a delicious coffee at times is open at night or close, and during the day is open and can walk around and buy souvenirs. Enjoy! I did very much.
MoreI always go there, ita a great place tonhang out, hold casual meetings, reunions and for a lot of musicians its a great place to jam!
MoreWas good however there was not much food there just the burguer place. However the actual Cotorra is beautiful and brilliant colors.
MoreVisited during the Christmas break on a weekend night. Plaza was full of food vendors and some great bands playing Latin music. Decorated for the holidays. Street parking was tight but can be found if you are patient.
MoreThis area charges for parking from 7am to 6pm from Monday to Friday only. Its free before or after this time and on weekends. Its a great place to walk around and it has cute shops. Limited but good 👍🏻 Like Café Palmer. I strongly recommend their coffee 😍
MoreSo peaceful and relaxing time walking around, the little coffee shop is the best
Every Saturday Night ... it will light up and have live music were you can dance ... eat ... and enjoy of atmosphere...
MoreAlways is good return and remember younger years. The pets looks in good shape.
Secure, peaceful...several museums within walking distance.
Great place with great rest and bars close to it. The music and the activities that they do here are great as well!
MoreIf you are in Caguas, visit this "placita". It is beautiful, clean, family-oriented environment, kids riding bikes and playing. I BELIEVE IT IS ONE OF THE BEST PLACITAS IN PR
MoreBeautiful place, you should come to walk here
Nice place for hanging out with family and kids.
Beautiful old park plaza. Lively during the weekends.
Plenty of activities to do during weekends. Safe and pleasant square to visit. Fountains, birds and a pond full of fish decorates this place. Little stalls and coffee shops around where you can sip a coffee, eat something and enjoy the weather.
MoreNice place to spend evenings with the family. The Merry go round is cool. Reminds you when your a child. Entertainment giving the birds food. A place to spend a good time and enjoy the cool air and music.
MoreBeautiful plaza! I visit it everytime I vacation in Puerto Rico. Its good to see that its well kept and that it is still used by the natives. The farmers market was available when I stopped by.I was a bit sad to see that not many shops remain but that new school is a plus! Using up the available spaces is a great idea and having the church doors open gives you a sense of welcoming. Great job!
