After a walk from old san juan its a nice place to sit down.
Old San Juan... amazing place and have so much to offer!!! Even Ive been once it is on my bucket list again!!!
Great area to take pictures. The people are very caring.
Great Shopping, Great food! #oldsanjuan
A small park/town square. Adjacent hotel with same name is closed and abandoned. Lots of nearby retail shops in Old San Juan geared toward tourists. Parking extremely hard to find. Worth a walking tour. But once is sufficient. Public restrooms are scarce. Try Burger King..
Beautiful place! So rich in history! Ill come back for sure!
We found this plaza after a great meal in San Juan. There were street performers and a great casual atmosphere
One of the most beautiful plazas in Puerto Rico and very well-maintained.
Great coffee place and a nice place to have breakfast.
The Plaza de Armas of San Juan is one of the main squares in San Juan, which was designed to serve as the original main square for the city. it dates back to Spanish colonial times, One side of the plaza, youll find San Juans official town hall building, and on another the Puerto Rico Department of State.like any famous square, street performances, local food stalls, everything is here.To better enjoy the Plaza de Armas, grab a coffee and a Puerto Rican pastry from any of the local spots and grab a sit in any of the public benches. also, you wont find wendy in the new avatar anywhere else.
Living statue, live music on occasion, and shops and restaurants nearby. Local coffee kiosk.
Fun place to people watch. Great mochachinno at the kiosk. Quick walk to the El Morro Fort from the plaza.
At 3:00 pm after visiting El Morro the weather was hot and we were a little bit tired. So we enjoyed a bench, seated just under some trees, it was a great spot, the breeze was amazing and enjoyed the Old San Juan (cityviews.
Is center of San juan you find la alcaldia + department of state marchalls and many more store
Centrally located in old San Juan. there is a grocery store at one end of the square, if you may need bottled water to keep hydrated.
Other than the pigeon poo, the place is lovely. Many of the locals hang out there. Look up before you sit on a bench. If theres a pigeon on the phone lune or tree above you, find another seat. Great place for the kuds to feed the pigeons. You can buy cracked corn at the supermarket accross the street. Or cheaper yet, lentils.
Great place to visit when visiting Old San Juan to spend a lazy afternoon people watching!
Beautiful walking πΆββοΈ in Old San Juan, this is a nice spot to breath and appreciate the Spanish architecture!
I loved Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and I could have spent another day there. But alas, we were on a cruise ship and had limited time. Old San Juan has my β€οΈ ππππ
Plaza de Armas, Old San Juan, Hotel Royal Sonesta. Great vacation!
Safe place to travel, day or night most places in old San Juan, but trust me also places to stay away but your senses should tell you which are which. The food and drink tours had great education. Uber is cheap and easy to get around with. Parking is atrocious except in Parking areas. Theres one by fort and by the port. So park there and Uber around. Bar street by fort has some great drinks n food but almost everything looks run down so you have to just get over it. The pork is amazingly marinated and a must so just do it. Stay safe, do not go to San Juan only Old San Juan
This place is called Plaza de Armas in San Juan Puerto Rico, it is part of the historical and tourist places where hundreds of tourists visit throughout the year. They always do different types of activities.
Lacks the luster it used to have. Even the mayor and the pigeons have left. Looks abandoned. Many empty and y kept buildings. Business is stagnant, many closed with awful graffiti all over.Old San Juan needs an urgent makeover prior to opening the ports for cruise ships and tourism.
Christmas decorations were not all up yet, but it was already starting to look beautiful. Going again next year!
Beautiful Place, If you see someone painted and acting his play by the fountain. Please provide a few dollars and he will tell stories in spanish of the late 1800s and early 1900s. RΓ©cord as he tells these stories. πͺπ½π He does an awesome job starting still like a statue. Aldo grab a FrappΓ©!!!
Beautiful location with a lovely fountain. Decorated for Christmas.
I spent couple hours in the afternoon here. It was great with live salsa music. Watching the little kids chasing the pigeons and beautiful colors of the buildings. What a way to spend the afternoon in Old San Juan.....
The pigeons are much friendlier here.
This plaza is calm and relaxed for sitting and talking with friends, the police is here so tourist we are safe.
What a great square to relax and enjoy the Spanish culture.
Quite peaceful place to relax and sit. Has lot of good food and drink options around. This place had hundreds of pigeons π¦. Unfortunately the fountain was not operating when we visited (not sure if it was due to COVIDbut it was still a fun place to visit.
We had a lot of fun in Plaza we Armas. My children chased pigeons and loved the fountain. A couple locals gave us bird seeds to place in the palm of our hands to feed the pigeons. That was a fun experience!
Great place to visit. Alot of history here plus multitude of shops, restaurants etc. Gotta get there early as parking is a premium. Had a great time.
I had an amazing time in the plaza this afternoon and evening. I felt throughout my visits there. One particular statue performance artist was amazing.Very very easy to recommend this area of OSJ. Enjoy!!
Place to stop, have a beer and watch the world go by.
Great place ti grab a coffee. snack ,ice cream or just sit and enjoy and people watch also enjoy the fountain in the evening there is a special performance by 1 of the statues that comes to life simply breath taking
Its so beautiful here. I really enjoyed just walking the streets - this is a lively and lovely place to experience.
Every weekend around 4pm theres a human statue.
Free WiFi while, you sit on city park bench. Great coffee spot in corner or square, and street actors are usually around. Quiet place to feed pigeons, or just sit.
We just happened to walk by on our way to eat. The plaza seems to be where locals just gather to chat and relax. As a visitor, the tourist office is located there and a grocery store (MAXthat sells everything with reasonable prices.
Its a small fountain with statues. Not terribly impressive, however a performance artist appeared while we were at the site. watching him prepare for the performance was worth the trip. Theres also a guy who feeds pigeons - they are very friendly pigeons. The birds will rest on your head, eat out of your hands, or off your feet. Of course the guys family so seeds for you to feed the birds with. We got some great photos of our son feeding birds on his head!
I loved the human statue he gave off some great knowledge of the city in spanish.
Great little square with restaurants and shopping surrounding. The nighttime performer on the fountain was amazing. Definitely make sure to stop by and give him a tip.
Interesting street performer painted himself all white and interacted with the audience not quite mine but very interesting
Plaza nice to have morning coffee with breakfast. Place to set and visit with travel buddy. Birds watch people. Architecture is old and beautiful. Come visit Old San Juan.
All the plazas in Old San Juan have their own flare. The photos I shared here are from La Fiesta de La Calle San Sebastian 2019 where there were multiple phenomenal live bands all day and evening! Discover Puerto Rico, its definitely a beautiful wonderful magical place to experience! The people, the culture, and the general vibe is warm, friendly, and fun-loving! More photos and info on the best places to dine and things to do while you are in Puerto Rico @lovetravelduo on Instagram! Cheers!
A lovely square in the center of town and the place where you should begin your walking tour of the historic district.
I always consider this as my resting point when visiting Viejo San Juan. Coffee is fabulous. Bird watching by the fountain is relaxing. If youre a people watcher, well, have a seat. Plenty of shade to re-energize tired feet. Dont forget to take a pic with the bronze statue man. Hes my bud. We go way back. Hes a great comforter and always listens to me.π
Nice place to be with your family and have a good time while in San Juan. Definitely the place to relax while enjoying a coffee. Remember, San Juan is crowded, congested (too much traffic), expensive and suffering from a high crime disease. So you wont have too many places like Plaza de Armas where could feel safe and secure. Recommended.
Great place to rest. Very safe (policia nearand clean (dedicated serviceman). A few solicitations from poor. Pigeons abound, fountain not on when we visited, easy to stop, shop, find some shade or food, geocache. Pleasant location
