Plaza de Armas, Cusco 08000, Peru, Ayaviri
Lively urban gathering place offering colonial arcades, a cathedral, gardens & a central fountain.
The heart of Cusco! Wonderful place and couldn’t recommend a visit more!
Its a beautiful place both day and night. You will find all what you need there: tour agencies, souvenirs stores, restaurants, nightclubs (for all budgets)You will have awesome sightseeing (cathedral, buildingswith the mix of the Inca culture and the Spanish.Ofc, you will feel the positive energy this land gives you
Lively place to visit and traffic free at night. Felt very safe and enjoyed just wandering aimlessly up steep roads and paths that seem to make up this city. Lots of history and tiny back lanes. Then use Google to get you back to your hotel.
Beautiful main square. Worth exploring and surrounded by cool little streets, shops and restaurants.
Vibrant and lively. Mix of tourists and tour sales people and street merchants. Recommend booking a hotel near this square: Plaza de Armas. Fun walking around and going to restaurants and shops. Many money exchange stores are also found here.
Only reason this place doesnt get 5 stars is because every five minutes youre turning down some vendor. Not the biggest problem, especially since youre in a very touristy area...but still annoying all the same.Absolutely gorgeous square with great seating and a calm vibe. Plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops.
The Main Square of Cusco known as “Plaza de Armas” is a visual treat for any visitor. Its buildings of colonial architecture have a whole story to tell, and you will surely love the activities that go on in the square. It features colourful gardens and wide stone pathways, is home to two iconic buildings; the Cusco Cathedral and the Church La Compania de Jesus. This area covers part of the area that was once the great inca square.Great place to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere and goings on. Lots of restaurants and souvenir shops to choose from.
Good food, good shopping. Cathedral is amazing. Only wish we could take pictures & video inside (not allowed). Great place to acclimate to the elevation before hiking Machu Picchu!
Yes, this is one of the most beautiful places in the whole country. At least to me. Its worth going here as many times as possible. There is always something interesting that will catch my eye. Doesnt matter if is it early in the morning, during noon, or late at night. Just go there and you will see it on your own 🤩Thank you 💙
The best place to visit in Cusco.. best for shopping, food and entertainment
Very busy with people selling all sorts around you, strong security so felt pretty safe
Nice, you probably dont need a massage but you will get 20 offers on the side streets
I love the fountain in this square, its superb. There are a lot of restaurants around the square plus lots of smaller shops down the side streets. A good place to sit and take in the atmosphere.
One of the most beautiful squares in Latin America, so is the city itself. Surrounded by Colonial Spanish buildings with intricately carved balconies and two cathedrals, the manicured greenery in the center is a picturesque contrast and an ensemble that is unique in Peru.
Safe location, even late at night with plenty of dining, spirits, and shopping options. Also many historical attractions are easily accessible from this location. If you need to book a tour, you have endless options of agencies who can get you exactly what you need.
Beautiful, especially as the sunset descends into nightfall and the twinkling lights of the city start to sparkle on the hill. Also, it’s full of life (dogs, vendors, even shoe shinersduring the day and there are so many restaurant options. Benches available if you need to rest, too!
The square is the heart of touristic Cusco area - lots of tourists and locals as well, which makes it a fun place, even though way too busy most times. Surrounded by the baroque constructions, which makes it somewhat bucolic too!...
It is to overeating if I writte that Cusco and Chian Mai are two brothers with similar vibe.Of course different one, but the best because... spirit of town is mixed of history, dreams, culture and expectations, open but still mysterious. Crowdy, but polite...Yes, main square is a heart of all rainbows of feeling, who offers Cusco.I am sure that is waiting also to you, just to absorb this unique energy. I was enjoying. Thank you Cusco ❤️For next time 😀
Lovely place to walk around and take pictures. Have plenty restaurants on-site offering delicious local food. And dont forget to cover yourself from the sun unless you want to look like a boiled lobster.
Plaza de Aramas. Best place to find a tour operator, meal, or drink in the area.
Cusco is a beautiful city. I definitely recommend visiting. They are many great restaurants and unique hotels. Personally, I recommend the JW Marriott. Lots of wonderful, unique architecture. The Main Square is nice. Although it can be packed with tourists. I think anyone who visits Cuzco should visit.
Beautiful views all round. Amazing vibe especially in the evenings. We loved the ancient cathedrals and cobbled streets
It is fun to sit there and watch the various vendors, tourists and some workers of the municipality. The architecture of the buildings around built in the 18th century make it worth a short amount of time spend in the square.Hungry? There are some of the best restaurants around. The shipping is very fine too.
Amazing example of a colonial period plaza principal - with cathedral and municipal ideas. Lots of shops and restaurants - and full on locals on the weekends.
A big, nice and impressive place right in the middle of Cusco. Around it you can find churches and a lot o restaurants, banks and so on. From this place you can also see the mountains around Cusco. Kind of all places in Cusco are easily reachable from there. If you search for a place to stay near plaza the Armas - you can easily go everywhere. A great thing about this place is that all the Fast Food Restaurants like KFC or McDonalds had to turn the logos into black to fit into the design of the place.
A nice central square, but nothing compared to some of the more famous Plazas de Armas throughout Peru. Honestly, Puno as a whole was kind of disappointing, the whole town looked like a rough area.
The Plaza De Armas is fun to visit and is a beautiful central gathering area in Cusco. The problem is a constant attempts by locals to sell you something. You cant sit and enjoy the plaza. One tip. Sit on the steps of the Cathedral you will be bothered a bit less. Also Im not sure how often it happens but when we were there Sunday late morning locals had about 30+ classic cars on display. Some were really impressive.
Looks amazing at both night and day. Lots of colonial buildings around it, and beautiful buildings that took sometimes 94 years to be built. I recommend the free walking tours to get to know more about this plaza.
A beautiful square. The buildings around are very typical for the colonial style and on two of the sides there are two of the important churches. But what really is interesting is that the square is part of the original Inca city.
Beautiful plaza, great tours at the churches too. Check out Hanz for a drink overlooking the square.
One of the most stunning Plaza de Armas Ive seen, its also a hub of activity - tourists, shops, restaurants, and two giant cathedrals. It really is the corazon of the Ciudad.
Spectacular!!! We were very lucky as we got here during the Inka rain. Great experience. There is big church there and great bars and restaurants around.
Beautiful and filled with history and culture. This is definitely the place to soak it in.
Monumental historical buildings rising around and atmosphere which is so much alive .. people dancing, playing instruments, trading, chatting around ...
Every Peruvian city has its Plaza de Arms and it is usually the centre of the city. This is no exception and full of life. Plenty of restaurants. Go one street back for better bars.
Great place. I bit hectic because their festival is coming up (June 21), but a great time. So fun seeing little kids playing in the streets and the Cuzco flag everywhere. Only downside is that there are a lot of people trying to sell you stuff a bit forcefully.
This is like the center of town for Cusco. The best restaurants and shows are all around here. I really like the vibe here with all the people and tourists and stores and restaurants. Just a note, the clothing and alapaca wool stores are a little overpriced here. The restaurants here are more expensive but are also very good.
Main town square of Cusco with fantastic architecture with great restaurants and bars lining the plaza. Definitely visit here and snap some photos and eat a meal!
Beautiful main square of the city for hanging out, walking around, and taking photos.
The most beautifull and big plaza in Peru, with many restaurants, musicians, artists...
Beautiful plaza! There are plenty of benches to sit and people watch. Note: there are many people advertising restaurants, massages, art, souvenirs, tours, etc. They’re just doing their jobs. Be kind.
Beautiful and serene plaza, amazing atmosphere and a great place to relax or take a walk. Many great restaurants and shops in the area.
This is one of the coolest plazas youll see in the world. Worth time spending and checking restaurants and cafes around it. Just dont get fished by the painters 😂 they all work for the same entity... Probably!
Great place. We experimented today the carnival day : be careful and protect yourself if you visit on this special day ;-)
Small little town with the cuties bridge you have to paid 2 soles to be able to cross over and take pictures
Absolutely stunning Plaza, with beautiful architecture and park space in the middle. So many restaurants surround the space, offering space to relax and enjoy. The hawkers are OVERWHELMING in every sense, you can hardly walk for a few seconds without getting pestered to buy something or take a bus.
The plaza is surrounded by Churches, Basilica, Temples, and plenty of restaurants. We were fortunate to experience the pre New Years festivities, with singing and performances in the square. If you get a chance, visit the Basilica and Cathedral. They were just beautiful.
Cusco is an amazing city! Which such an incredible history! Plaza de Armas is like a central place of the old town, its a very charming place although it’s difficult to relax there as you are being asked every 15 seconds if you want to buy something.
Historical churches. Good place to get some snaps of your trip. Walk around the plaza and you will be bombarded by the folks trying to get you in for food, massage, and coffee. Experience one or multiple of them. Its going to be some local comfort food. Acclimation of elevation is real.
Love Cusco. A historical town with rich food and great traditions. The church and the cathedral are breathtaking. Peru is amazing. And Cusco will take your breath away.
