Players Bar in Amsterdam

The staff made the place more fun than it actually is. It is a sports bar after all. If thats your thing then fill your boots and please dont take this as a bad review. Music was awful commercial drivel. And I didnt much like the beer. We took a wrong turn.

Best place to play pool with your squad and drink litters of Bavaria.

Big bar, great beer and good location. But really helpful staff is why this gets a 5 star. One strange thing, ok to smoke cigarettes but not weed.

Good vibe.. Only downside is having to pay 50 cents everytime you go use the toilet.. Im drinking so Ill obviously be visiting the gents quite often. Great spot other than that

Our favorite place to watch American sports. The bartenders are hilarious and really fun, theres tons of seating and lots of drink deals

Overpriced and couldnt finish my drink as the waiter took away my glass with at least 1/3 of the drink still in it. Not coming back.

Large dance floor, poles for tipsy ladies to play on, billiards, awesome music, great crowd, 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We called in for a drink which was OK. It was reasonably quiet mid-afternoon but they do have a smoking room so that would probably stop us going back if were honest.

Toilets are dirty, but you need to pay :-(

Best bar ever. Every one friendly. No pressure. You can come play pool watch football game enjoy the atmosphere.. basically best place after busy day

Dealt with possibly the rudest bartender I’ve come across in my time. Took an accusatory tone with every question, and took advantage of the fact that the people he dealt with were drunk to be pretty demeaning. I’m sure other staff are fine, but I definitely won’t be returning

Great bar, only smoking one. Great music , pool is a plus.

Very nice place to visit of youre in to board games, Arcade Games or great beer.

Friendly staff, good beer nice pizza and great atmosphere at Football nights...

Came here as part of the ultimate pub crawl. They don’t serve tap water, instead water is €3.50 for a bottle. The washroom is also paid, €0.50. It might seem like nitpicking, but for drunk people water and going to the bathroom and the two most important things. Beers were mediocre (and expensive, of course). Definitely don’t recommend this pub.

Always a last option but they have music here so not so bad

Good place but incredibly expensive. Can easily get too drunk and wonder how you spent so much.

Better to go on weekends....open up till 4 in the morning from 11 pm onwards... location is near by Dam Sqaure... easily accessible by local transportation

Met people from different countries. Free entry. Drink were also not that expensive. Good music by DJ. Overall, I enjoyed a lot in this bar during my Amsterdam trip.

Been there twice. Nice place to go to meet someone for drinks. There are pool tables. We had a nice game. My drink seemed watered down the first time I went, so I didnt bother ordering the second time. Just went for fellowship.

Nice little sports bar with 2 pool tables and plenty of TVs which they show plenty of football on. They also often have drink deals on which makes it more reasonable than many of the other bars around.

Great place if you are into sports, playing as well as watching, not sure about the volume but I guess with so many competitions on display will be hard...and also the first place I saw Guinness chips👍

Bouncers are Really rude and want some Xtra Money for lettin in and out as well they mean for respect no girls there at a saturday Night. I can t give a Review if i don t give one star. I have the feeling the bouncers are Rac.st i m white by the Way.

Atmosphere good. People friendly. Music good too. Drinks so expensive - €10.50 for a disarano and coke.€0.50c to use the toilet too...Ok food too. Had nachos and pizza to share.

Went to players bar as this was the start of the organised bar crawl. They were showing live sport which was a hit as well as music which was good. First impressions of the bar that it was rather busy but as soon as the bar crawl party was leaving the venue for the next one, almost all the customers turned out to be part of the bar crawl Leaving players bar almost empty.Main downside I found is having to pay to use their toilets. ( then going to a bar up the road not having to pay and found them alot cleaner anyway). All in all players was a good bar but would end up spending a small fortune drinking and paying to use the toilet all night so unfortunately probably wouldnt return.

Its small and not many people are there, but if you dont care about that or have a large group its not that bad, but there are better places.

Not a fan of the watered down shots. Prices were reasonable though!

3rd time here, always Friday or Saturday with nowhere else open. Not yet seen any kind of crowd in there, max 30 people 1-3am in my visits, Id testify on that and barely a woman in sight. 3 times bar staff explicit stated "it doesnt include tip" (even in america while expected they dont say it), forced to pay 50c each, each, time you go to the toilet, not once, and after the 2nd time and having no change & being told I cannot go.... i got my group to leave. Even being the only people spending any money in a deserted bar, the bathrooms are, apparantly, extra. While its acceptable to charge for the toilet in amsterdam, a place with any class whatsoever doesnt enforce this on its paying customers more than once.A last resort if you need alcohol. Other than that, you will see why its literally empty, even at peak time/weekends, should you actually check it out.Wondering whether this is what you aim for, mr players, but I believe the reason why this city centre venue is a complete graveyard is not much of a mystery.Caveat: Many of the staff there are genuinely awesome and friendly. But, Ive been a few times and its an aweful place to visit

Good drink selection and awesome service from the bar staff as well as a great variation of music!

Visited Players Bar whilst on a pub crawl, the drinks are very expensive and your charge 50 cents of you need to use the bathroom! A woman is literally sat at a table in the doorway and demands payment beforw allowing you to pass! The bar staff are very impolite and have very little customer service. Not on my recommendations for place to go in Amsterdam!

Neat spot, as far as sports bars go. We were here for the England v Sweden World Cup match and the atmosphere was quality! Beer was reasonably priced, the pitchers with smaller glasses went down well :)

Loud and full of tourists on stags. Booze expensive. Two pool tables if youre lucky to get on them. Nice staff and table service.

Players was our first stop for Pub crawl. When we went to bar to ask for water and our first drink. The bartender gave a water bottle and asked for three euros. When he Could have given regular water.The bartender was extremely rude to my husband and since it was our first visit to a bar in Amsterdam. I won’t recommend this place.Highly disappointed with the behaviour of the bartender.

The service here could be a lot better. We were here because its the starting point for the pub crawl tour and I must say that apart from the overall vibe of the place, the attitude of the staff at the bar could really use some improvement. The food was decent and the beginning of the tour was fine. The tour staff was good as well so this review has nothing to do with the tour itself, however, the attitude of the staff at the bar was disappointing.

Good place with nice music and a room to smoke without freezing to death outside. But there was well too many people on new year and we couldnt even move anymore. And no locker which was kinda annoying.

Good atmosphere ordered a simple portion of chips and nachos between two couples chips came in 15 mins or so and waited a lot longer for the nachos no apologies etcThe nachos were absolutely vile rock solid cheese and barely any cheese on clearly left on sideWouldnt ever order food again

I know Im in Amsterdam, usually a toilet is free if youre a patron, but I came here with the pub crawl, and theyll sell you pitcher of beer for €12, but charge you €.50 to use the toilet???? The bar tender was nice, explaining the ins and outs of genivier, but the old lady charging my 50 cents to use the toilet ruined it for me, especially since it said "for safety reasons".....

Very cool place, it is fun, laid back, but also a very interesting place. You can watch live sports on tv but yet you can also play some pool to entertain yourself. Highly advisable

Nice accustics, plenty place to dance, only the pool tables are a little dirty and the balls are mixed.Service was great.

You should visit here with a "Pub crawl". For example "pitcher" is 17 euro for non pub crawlers, 12 euro for pub crawlers. Pub crawlers also enjoy shots during stay. Staff was not so friendly.

Actually not a bad night out! Staff were great and made our night! The crowd was pretty good as the night went on and played some decent music too! Went on a Thursday night, drinks a were a little pricey but youd probably expect to pay the same in central London...

Not a great crowd when I was there, primarily male tourists. Not a fan of the interior and it was designed in a way where it felt weird to enter the dance floor that is located almost on top of the seats.
