Playa San Pancho - Public beach in La Cruz, Mexico
Beautiful beach, quiet town. Beautiful people
Not many recycle/trash options and town is pro plastic, but great beach otherwise
Great little beach town, pretty laid back vibe , cool little shops and restaurants all around, walked the beach from Sayulita to San Pancho, then walked to the highway and caught the local bus back to Sayulita great way to spend a day!! Would definitely go back!
Beautiful beachVery calm and peaceful vibesThe waves are massive, definitely stay for the sunset
A beautiful beach. A little bit more calm and its crowd than those in Sayulita. Often there are fresh oysters available.
Youve got it all at San Pancho beach. In the middle youve got the umbrellas and chairs for rent with did and drink service. To the right side it gets more empty while you walk past villas and girls and there is also a beach club.We preferred to walk all the way to the left close to the rocks where you have some natural shade and the waves are better for swimming.
We stayed a week in San Pancho. Get here before it loses its authenticity completely (and becomes another Sayulita). If you can stay sufficient distance from the main drag, it’s great.
Wow. Unbelievable beach with crazy big waves. Much bigger than Sayulita and Way less crowded. Cleaner and Less populated. Loved it
Great clean beach
Beautiful beach but the waves were very rough. I did not go swimming because it was not safe for me to do so.
Nice little town Also called San Francisco
If You love surfing this si the place to be
Pure Paradise not over crowded beaches, nice restaurants and even nicer people!! A must see town!!☀️🏖🌴
THE place to go for sunsets around this area. Would recommend walking along the beach a bit to get away from the crowds.
Just stunning x
One of the most magical beaches Ive ever spent time on. Playa San Pancho is a very special hidden gem. The beach runs for miles in both directions. Only a couple restaurants on the beach which are located at the main entrance to the beach. This beach is off the beaten track and is a hidden gem. Youll find a few surfers here. The breaks can be pretty serious at times. You can rent surf boards, boogie boards and most of the water sport rentals that are not motorized. One of my favourites is the lady selling empanadas. The sunsets Ive seen here are the most spectacular sunsets Ive ever witnessed in my life.If you dont believe me go check it out for yourself.
A must see place with a friendly down to earth vibe. Highly recommended!
Took a day trip up here for a change of scenery from Puerto Vallarta, and what a charming place! Loved the chilled, relaxed vibe. Beautiful beach. Great restaurants. Friendly people.
Small little beach town, very nice. Lots of restaurants and food to choose from. Water is a bit more choppy in this particular area than in the neighboring areas, but its still very similar to being in a pool. Water is very warm, area is nice, clean and well taken care of.
Good spot for get a rest on the beach or just walking along the ocean , gorgeous view .
Nice little town lots of shops and restaurants
Its a low key chill spot. Lots of room to spread out on the beach and relax. Few to no vendors coming up to you on the beach trying to sell you all sorts of knickknacks. The ocean is definitely more choppy here. Big consistent waves, not recommended for swimming. Took a 10-15 minute ride on a bus for 22 pesos per person from Sayulita. Its about another 12-15 minute walk from the bus stop drop off to the beach. But along the route you walk through the town filled with shops and restaurants. Its a busy spot with tourist but not nearly as packed as Sayulita.
Beautiful beach! Only a handful of people. Surf is rough, great for surfers. Be careful, you will get tossed by waves! 😂
Amazing beach! The ocean was fun and wasnt cold, the view is crazy!
Really good beach, much better than Sayulita beach. It’s really close to Sayulita, 10 minutes taxi. The cost can be approx 150 mexican pesos.I strongly recommend it, it’s really cool 🙂
This is a beautiful beach!! Gorgeous sand. The vendors are there but very courteous when you say no. A lot of palapas available if you order $250 from the restaurant (pesos obviously). The sand is lovely. The waves were too wild for me to go in but it was enough to enjoy watching the surfers and my kids were able to boogie board in the shallow waves. I could spend my life listening to the thundering crash of the waves on this beach.
Great beach. This was one of the best beaches I visited during my stay in Puerto Vallarta. The sand of soft and there is a current. A lot of surfers are there at the beach. Also, the town of san fransico has a great hip vibe and I will definitely plan to stay here in my next trip to the area
One of the most beautiful beaches on the Riviera Nayarit. Town itself is quite upscale with a hippie vibe ( if you like that sort of thingwould have rated higher if more of a traditional Mexican Beach town for me.
A little gem on the coast near Rincon de Guayabitos. Great restaurants on the beach. Higher surf for those who like surfing. There is a market in the plaza under the roof that is a real great experience. Lots of local handmade, rugs, blankets, pottery, you name it. You may hear some buskers playing music and singing. A delightful little town to visit with several hotels and smaller accomodations available.
Miles of white sand beach , nesting turtles, flying fish, pelicans, dolphins, friendly locals walking dogs. Surfing on the south end w restaurants on the sand. Further up you can have solitude.
Unlike sayulitas main beach you can see the sunset here. Even if not for the sunset, the beach (and villageis definitely worth a trip as it is such a beautiful stretch of sand with good food and drinks options , much cleaner than sayulita, bit more waves when you get in, its steep but easy . Really a shame they started building directly on the beach, you can see how the days of this great place may be counted, hopefully theyll see the value in keeping the place what it is rather than spoiling it with greed. One can hope.
Nice enough beach. The southern end where locals hang out is better in my opinion - I was able to strike up some convos and met very friendly Mexican gente!
You will fall in love with this place.
A historic small town with sandy swimmable and surfing beach, with full of street hawkers selling local food and crafts, restaurants on the beach as well as nearby. Parking is very limited and roads are narrow and crowded, its better to park couple of streets away and walk to the beach.Tip- try their fresh fruits in food markets on hwy 202 on the way to the beach.
The town is a sleepy, cute, little town. The beach on the other hand is not much to enjoy. The waves are very rough even for an experienced expert swimmer. The sand is very course and sticky. But this place does offer beautiful sunsets.
The beach here is very nice. More peaceful and open than the public beach in sayulita with nice waves. There are not as many options in san pancho but the beach is very nice. We walked from sayulita to san pancho. There is a trail but it gets cut off by private property which is a shame because otherwise this would be a really nice walk. Because of the fencing it is a much longer walk and you have to walk on the highway for a part which is scary because there is no shoulder. All in all a lovely beach to spend the day at.
One of best best beaches that i ever visited, beautiful and quiet, the food is cheap and delicious, the people is very kind. Is near to Puerto Vallarta (1 hour driving). Dont think about it and visit San Pancho you wont regret it.
Views of the mountains in the distance, never crowded during the day. The water is quite intimidating with high, swelling waves and rumored rip tides. It is especially lovely at dusk, a time when the entire town gathers to watch the sunset.
A fantastic beach in a chill surfing town. Lots of nice beach spots for food and drink. Note that its a surf town so the waves can be pretty big.
The beach is beautiful! The waves are great! I could stay here all day!!
Nice beach, perhaps one of the best in the greater PVR area. Beautiful landscape. Parking is difficult to find, but much better than Sayulita. We drove in there and left as soon as we could. The biggest drawback about the place is that the beach is quite steep and so it isn’t very safe for younger kids.
Expensive but nice. Bathroom has the open air concept.
Beautiful beach. Waves can be intimidating for little kids, depends on the day. The ground can drop suddenly 2 feet when you enter the ocean as the waves dig as they crash/roll. No reef, no rocks. Water is too cloudy for snorkeling. If you are a tourist, not used to the sun, do yourself a favor, get sunscreen, rent an umbrella because even in the shade you WILL get sun from the ocean/sand reflection. Dont be a lobster on your 2d day.
Not a bad beach. Its known for surfing but is also good for swimming most times. Sand ticks have been biting me these few days which isnt great. Bring an umbrella as theres no shade. Public toilets are a pricey 10 pesos which is a shame. Beautiful for sunsets
So pprecious and its fresh, in the day the sun is hot but is a good vocational place to go :D
San pancho, a small turistic village at about 1 hour from Puerto vallarta. The place is amazing immerse in the jungle , no many turist, so u can get an amazing experience with the local people, everyone so nice and the beach is amazing! Is a large free beach where u can also camping, there are signs who says u cant but I saw many tent. The waves are big perfect for surfing, u can also swim even if is a bit dangerous becouse as soon u walk inside the water u cant touch the floor anymore, I have been there a week and only one day the waves were to big to Bath...There is enough space to Have privacy and be toplessOne of the best and truest experiences I had Im Mexico.
One of our favorite beaches in the area.Much queiter and cleaner than nearby Sayulita beach. The nearby resturant makes a great margarita as well.
It is beautiful and peaceful here.. loads of birds!! Great people watching..
A beach full of good vibes! It has a hippie atmosphere, food tastes great, handcrafts are cheap and beautiful, and the beach itself is beautiful! Its a great escape from touristic places such as Vallarta. Bars are also good!
Beautiful beach and great for older kids. Waves are pretty large and crash either on the beach or very near.
