I was disappointed it appeared a safe place to swim as is protected by circular bay which keeps the sea relatively calm, unfortunately underneath the water are jellyfish with a hell of a sting. This is a working fishing village the beach is not the best quite stone. Plenty of sea birds to observe. Pelicans glidinging inches above the water and information in the sky. There are restaurants strewn along the sea front although basic and did not appear very attractive, offering fresh fish, ceviche and other Ecuadorian cuisine. I took a taxi there from San Clemente $10 and navigated two buses back to San Clemente $1.50 the Crucita bus attendant was very helpful and showed me where to contact with my second bus to San Clemente.

Its ok as a bathing beach. Its at night that you can see its real potential. There is a lot of bars and restaurants and oftentimes there are live shows near the beach. Its difficult to get a parking spot next to the beach, especially at weekends.
