Plant - Vegan restaurant in Seongnam-si, South Korea
Great vegan cafe with several gluten free options! Had the chai tea latte, kombucha, and hummus salad.. all delicious. Took me a sec to find the building, its off the main road not a side road like it appears on Google Maps. Just look for the sign.
Healthy, clean food. Got the burrito bowl - yum! Big portion and tasty dish.
A really nice plant based cafe in Itaewon. The vibe is good, food was good and the latte was delicious too. I really recommend this place if youre craving international plant based food! Everything is vegan.
After reading all the reviews I wanted to make up my mindIt’s in the heart of Itaewon and on the upper floor with lots of plantsThe service was really unfriendly! What are the requirements to work here? HahaAlso the food is nothing specialI ordered the salad with hummus and squash and it wasn’t flavored at all. Not good hummus very dry and unflavoured. They make you pay 1.500 for changing the dressing so I just added it because that was the same price haha don’t understand what the sense is in thatI asked for no cilantro but apparently there’s cilantro in the peanut dressing so be aware. And obviously they don’t know ingredients or just didn’t bother telling me! Imagining it would be with peanuts and someone has an allergic reaction 🥲Big portion of lettuce, hardly any seeds and nuts, nice presented.Won’t go again paid 16.000
The humus salad was very good (and large!the cafe has a large choice of cakes and the place is very cosy
5 to 10 min walk from Itaewon Subway Station Exit 4. Staff mostly speaks English well. Menu is fully vegan, mainly serving Western food including salads, wraps, bowls, and burgers. Contains alliums. Taste is very impressive and with a generous serving! There is also a wide range of vegan bakes - not only cakes but also cookies, brownies, etc. The nut-free and gluten-free bakes are labelled, though there arent many gluten-free bakes.- Tofu Caesar Wrap- Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich- Hummus & Roasted Squash Salad- Teriyaki Stir-Fry- Lentil Veggie Bowl- Sesame Peanut Soba Bowl- Caramel Apple Cake- Peanut Butter Blondie- Peanut Butter Oat Cookie- Strawberry Crumble Oat Bar- Spicy Hot Chocolate Snickerdoodle Cookie- Ginger Molasses Oat Cookie- Banana Walnut Bread
5-stars for the place, food and drinks, the service was ehh, the person waiting tables wasn’t Korean, she didn’t tell us that we had to order up front, or nothing other than seating us down.Anyways, the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious!
Food is good but they close their kitchen at sharp 9 pm. They dont take orders after that. Also, on Google 10 pm is their closing time but they told everyone that they close at 9:30 pm.
The salad was very good, just keep in mind the portion is big. The burger was good too, just thought it could have a better bread. The green juice was delicious! A must order. Pricey but healthy
Its nice to find a vegan restaurant in Seoul, we got two pasta dishes: the rigatoni were quite good, but the cream penne were unfortunately flavorless and the sauce was very runny. The cakes looked better. The decorations and vibe were nicely done.
The food is incredibly delicious! Definitely the best vegan food Ive had in Korea so far! Wait times can be a little bit long since its only a small place and very popular, but thats completely understandable (its worth the wait!:)
Super nice place. Lovely, green atmosphere. Really enjoyed the carrot cake.
Such a nice place! I am not vegan, but was recommended this place, and really enjoyed our experience. We had a lovely conversation with the woman sitting next to us. Seems like a good place to have tea time, like we did, or have a great meal. Definitely worth stopping in.
Healthy and delicious, Great atmosphere and based food. close to the subway station in Itaewon
Well established vegan venue in Seoul, it also has a branch in Yeonnam dong. It serves international style food with large size portions and has also a nice selection of vegan cakes. Highly recommended!
Wow!! The best vegan restaurant Ive been to in Korea, very good food, alot of options all vegan, oat and soy milk that is pretty rare in coffee places, I was so full but could not stop eating 😅 it made me very happy to see a vegan place like this one in Seoul
Such a good plant-based restaurant. Really enjoyed the food here! The salad was super fresh, and the staff kindly added extra kale to my juice when I requested. The African-peanut stew and power green smoothie are also really wonderful!Very beautiful space with great natural lighting and a lot of plants placed about. It’s on the 2nd floor above the street, but is easy to access and find.
During my week-long stay in Seoul, I ordered food from here thrice and was delighted all of the times. The food is delicious and portion sizes are excellent. Great vegan choices - the avocado burger and banana bread were my favourites.
For the first time I could freely eat anything without worrying about the ingredients used. All the food looked healthy and tasted even yummier. The cafe is now spacious nice they moved to a bigger location, however you might have to wait a couple of minutes during peak hours.
It was okay, but nothing special, hence my decision to only give the stars. I really appreciate and support the vegan movement, but this place is not on par with similar restaurants.
First time having vegetarian food while heaving eating too much. Here vegetarian definitely doesn’t mean “light”. However it was good and there’s a wide variety of options.
This place was like my second home when I stayed in Seoul, pretty much tried everything on the menu!I never actually stopped in Itaewon but Plant is very close to the subway station so it was always easily accessible and not too far away. The restaurant was constantly busy which says alot and I did have to wait a few times for a table.. Not too long though and always worth the wait! This place has a great vibe, always buzzing and super friendly staff! The food is some of the best vegan food Ive ever eaten anywhere in the world! Good mix of western and Asian foods. The cakes are to die for and they have great coffee as well.I cant fault this place at all and since leaving Korea I believe they have opened another branch in Hongdae. Shame I didnt get chance to see it as I actually stayed there for a few weeks.Hopefully I will return to Plant and Korea one day in the future!
The food is absolutely amazing. I ate the mushroom burger with fries and it was very delicious. My friend had the salad with hummus and she was also very content with her food. We didnt have to wait a long time to get our food. For dessert I tried the oreo walnut brownie and it also tasted excellent. This place is definetly recommendable!
Im a carnivore and I shouldnt like this place BUT the food is one of the best in Seoul that I almost turned vegan. I ordered the lentil veggie bowl for lunch and I didnt have dinner that day. It was so filling and flavorful. I LOVE IT and I will be back for more!!!
Yes! Yes! And Hell Yeah!! Iv been in Seoul for a month now and this is the BEST vegan food I have eaten so far! Nice big portions of food and a wide variety off salads and main courses. Delicious gluten free deserts, wide variety of drinks. Honestly words cannot describe how happy and full I was after eating here. Amazing plant decor inside to, just a hole vibe. Loved it !!
this place was first recommended by my friend who also loves a good healthy meal - spending several years in seoul, i’d say plant is the best vegan place! no matter what your preference is, you can be ready to be surprised by how delicious and nutritious their menus are 🥺 strongly recommend green smoothie if you love the taste of peanut butter like me! and oh dear the HOMEMADE HUMMUS IS MAGNIFICENT
Plant is one of the first vegan restaurants I have known in Seoul. They have expanded a lot and have become so popular, its sometimes quite crowded in here...They offer classic (Westernfoods, e.g. burgers, pasta and stews, that have been veganized. I love the creative way they interpret e.g. Mac&Cheese into a vegan version with pumpkin sauce and fermented beans!Their bakery products are awesome - frosted cakes, that are so fluffy and rich, its hard to tell that they are vegan! Vegan comfort food and junk food all at once, YAY! :)Staff is always friendly and cheery, a fun atmosphere overall.Prices are a bit higher than local Korean foods, however.
The burger completely fell apart and wasnt partocularly flavorful tp me, I mostly tasted the avocado. and the hummus was just average. The start of the show was def the the chili fries but even then i couldnt taste the cheese at all.
Wow. Just wow. This restaurant is incredible. My friends and I all got different salads. The fries and milkshakes were great too. Even meat-lovers will love the vegan food here. Thank you so much!
The restaurant located on the second floor. The staffs were all smile and helpful, and theyre expats, thus it was easy for fellow expat like me to communicate. The restaurants also cozy and clean. This was my first visit and I ordered creamy fettuccine (I dont recall the exact name). Flavor wise, its pretty good, although the after taste wasnt my favorite, and the pasta was a bit overcooked.Overall it was a pleasant experience and value for money.
I think if you are passionate vegan and clean eater, then it might be worth the visit, but a little too expensive for my tastes as a non-vegan that can handle any and all food. Lovely little place, good for your vegan fare and especially if youre feeling like treating yourself. Featured here is one of their Wednesday specials... CTC burger (yummy, good bread and coleslaw on the burger, but honestly I would rather have meat, sorry vegans and vegetarians but still good).
Had to come back again for the food and the kind services. Its rare in Korea for any server to exchange smiles as you dine in their establishment. I recommend the mushroom burger and the hummus salad.
This was one of the few times in Seoul that I’ve felt so warm and welcomed in a restaurant. Vegan restaurants are few and far in between in Seoul, making this this joint a unique gem. The atmosphere and food are wonderful. A little pricey, but no more than what is usually expected for vegan food.
The shop is on the second floor and I love the abundance of plants, and its cozy (with pillowscouches. I ordered a bunless avocado burger, happy with the bunless option to avoid gluten. The side salad was awesome, the vegan burger --- is not going to taste like a regular burger. A good nutritious meal.
We came across this restaurant while in the area and it looked great! You have to go up the stairs to access it so might not be accessible for some. The menu looks very good, we were just here for a drink so we ordered a green smoothie and the pumpkin spice latte. Both were really good! The green smoothie tasted so much better than I expected and the latte was delicious, with fresh cinnamon and some delicious whipped cream. All vegan of course! The menu was to die for and I cannot wait to come back and try it! The decor was beautiful, homey, full of plants and natural light. The staff are mostly expats so they speak perfect English.
You couldnt even tell this is a vegan restaurant. We ordered different dishes and tried each others food, and we were all blown away at how tasty everything was. I love curry and Id absolutely come back here just for that! Its a bit of a small space but every well decorated. Highly recommended.
I am not vegan but the food was good. Specially the cake was perfect. Also the servers was kind and good too. I will recommened it. The only reason I didnt give 5 start was I didnt like one of the cream pasta but my sister seems to like it so...? I dont know ..hmmm
It’s on the pricey side, but given the location, it’s an event, and not an everyday meal. The chili cheese burger didn’t stick together as a burger, but with a helpful fork, was entirely consumed. Overall ambiance, service, quality for the price and location, I would give 4 1/2 stars, but if I can’t, I’ll round up!
Vegan oasis in Seoul! Took our non vegan friend and they loved it too, the green peanut butter shake with whipped cream and mushroom mozzarella burger with chilli cheese fries were a great combo for someone who’s a bit skeptical on vegan food! The cakes are phenomenal too.. 10/10 staff are so friendly too! :)
I ordered king icon marked menu(store recomend). Other visitors seems like doing same. I like passion fruit ade that tastes sour and sweet . Rainbow wrap had smoked protein bar that I assumed bean based ingredients? Most of visitors were foreigners, sometimes you can encounter Korean celebrities who were vegans.
On our trip to Seoul we came here twice. On both occasions the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely. I only had one slice of cake though to my regret as it was absolutely scrumptious. If you plan on making a visit to Itaewon stop by Plant.
I have spent 2 months in Seoul and for all things (i.e. location, food, atmosphere, serviceconsidered Plant is undoubtedly the best vegan restaurant in town. Its conveniently located 3-5 minutes away from the Itaewon Station (Line 6 - Exit 4). I tried most of the dishes on their menu and I really enjoyed the Mushroom Burger with Fries, Lentil Veggie Bowl, Chili Cheese Fries, Fettuccine Cream Pasta (only offered after 5pm). Their matcha latte mixed in with soy milk is delicious. Hummingbird Cake is probably one of the best cakes I have had in my life. Although it tended to get busy from time to time, the service was still professional and I didnt have to wait for food. Ill definitely come back to Plant if I ever come to Seoul again.
Once you get to visit the place for the very first time you always want to go back for more. Plant puts the vegan experience in another level. You will never run out of options in here. The place is a little small and sometimes there is a queue, but waiting is worth it. The last time I went, I ordered 4 dishes Id never tried before (Thai Green Curry, Lentil Bowl, Breakfast Burrito, Crispy Tofu Burgerand I blamed myself for not trying them already. My favorite one was the Thai curry which doesnt need any meat, because the coconut milk is the key ingredient to give you that delicious Thai taste. The breakfast burrito got the second place. That cheese inside is glorious and you cant believe is vegan at all. You can also order one of their special fruit smoothies or cakes. The size of the dishes is perfect and will get you full. The price is high, but nothing crazy.
Absolutely brilliant - I’ll definitely be back! I’m so glad I found this place as I’d been told I might struggle to find good vegan food in Seoul. I had the lentil bowl and it was really tasty and left me wanting more so I’m sure I’ll be back over the next few days. The menu looks varied enough that you wouldn’t run out options quickly. They have free wifi and water and the place is warm in this cold winter weather!
Good variety of vegan food...from fries to burgers to curries, salads, pasta, desserts, etc. I had the burger and enjoyed it, didnt miss the meat. The place is small so one may have to wait. They have seating for one overlooking street, or small group seating as well. Fresh decor makes for a pleasant time. Staff is friendly.
Coming from Glasgow, The most vegan friendly city in Europe, I cannot praise PLANT highly enough!!The food was extremely well presented with an unbelievably well balanced and well thought out menu and flavour choices for every taste and preference. The drinks on offer range from healthy to tasty, smoothie to juiced fruits and the menu includes suggestions and the “best” choice. The food menu, as found on my review photos, offers such variety in terms of size, texture and composition, and the specials board bolsters and already strong food and drink choice. The cafe itself is clean and tidy, well laid out and feels like the inside of a fashion conscious owners greenhouse.I was seated quickly and all the staff from service to cleanup were friendly and attentive without being intrusive or an annoyance. As a vegan, this cafe alone made Seoul worth the visit.Top Marks!
Probably the best vegan restaurant Ive been to so far. The food is great, the portions are more than enough, and the staff is super friendly. The green smoothie was delicious. Recommend.
So.. my girlfriend made me come here for lunch. I couldnt bring myself to eat any of the fake burgers because why would I do that, but I did try a hot chocolate and carrot cake. And amazingly they actually tasted great. I guess thats not so surprising for the incredibly sweet hot chocolate but the carrot cake was a huge pleasant surprise. They swear its vegan so Im guessing lots of oil is used to make it moist and sugar to give it good texture but everything from the consistency to the flavour and sweetness of the frosting was good. Downside, my blood glucose is way higher than it goes from a non- vegan desert. Im sure if Id tried the actual food Id be giving them 2 stars but thats not fair since the people who come here actually want the vegan aspect, and if the rest of the food is in line it probably tastes good to a vegan. The clientele was largely expat when I visited.
This is my favorite restaurant, and I go here every chance I get. And, I find every excuse for going to Seoul so I can eat here (and get some takeaway baked goods!). I actually dont know how I lived here before Plant! There are so many great options for meals, snacks and sweet treats. My favorite meal is the lentil burrito bowl. Or the new breakfast burrito. The mac and cheese, West African peanut stew and veggie burgers are also excellent! Try everything!! Im in love with all the cakes, especially the gingerbread, double chocolate and earl grey! This is the original vegan oasis in the meat and fish based cusine of Korea. Highly recommendable!
Food is really good. I would definitely come back again. I only give 4 stars because the Pumpkin Spice Latte was a bit short on pumpkin and the chili cheese fries were too expensive considering the lack of enough cheese. But the restaurant is cute, cozy, & the food really is delicious!
