Planken Wambuis in Ede

The people who worked weren’t nice en weren’t enjoying there work. I eat a piece of meat which was so greacy and also very expensive. First and last time in this place. There where also two people almost sitting on each other and kissing the hole time which was very rude.

The moment you walk in you feel an atmosphere of a rustic but modern restaurant. Had a great meal with family. The food was delicious and the service fast and professional.

Fantastic ambiance with polite and friendly stuffs. Good get away from city and busy life also with colleagues and business partners...

Excellent. Had a soft drink, vegetarian wrap for lunch followed by a milk coffee. The staff are very polite and courteous, guest friendly. The wrap was with hummus, boiled egg, avocado and some cucumber, alongside a salad. It was very tasty and filling. The coffee i ordered(koffee verkeerdwas very very nice. I asked for a decaffeine option and it was possible, it was served with some stroopwafel, whipped cream and coffee liquor. Very tasty and definitely well priced. And the Ambience is outstanding! I would totally recommend!

Nice location in a beautiful environment. Good base for a nice walk or even hike in the surrounding nature. Nice menu with a variety of tasty dishes. Staff could be more mindful of their guests needs and wishes.

Super gezellig restaurant along the N224. Booked in advance, we came Sunday late afternoon for dinner. We got a nice table with view of the garden. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really cozy, the main building has a hunter decoration while the closed garden extension is super cozy. The waitress was very friendly and we ordered our drinks and dinner. I ordered the ossenhaas Tournedos and my girlfriend the ossobuco. The plates came quite fast (restaurant was getting fulland with a nice presentation. The portions were enough to enjoy it and even have some dessert. Really a nice place to bring your date or your family. Totally recommended.Tip: dogs are welcome! As long as they behave.

September 19th. Met here for lunch with friends. Our first visit. Beautiful location with walking and biking trails around.The indoor restaurant is very hunting lodge style with great ambience.The weather was perfect and we had an outside table. Food was good and a very enjoyable couple of hours spent here.

It had been quite some time since we were able to go out to diner due to COVID-19. What a way to get back into the game by eating at Planken Wambuis.We had seared duck breast with houding sauce and Iberico Boston Butt with herb butter for our mains. And Sticky Coconut chocolate cake with mango and white chocolate ganache and Banoffee Pie with banana ice cream for desserts.All the dishes were equally delicious. And the service was professional yet very friendly

Great food, I have been eating there several days in a row. Every time the food was prepared exactly the same and as always tasty.

Well, we got a table at short notice. The staff were friendly and helpful.The food was good and tasteful. The price was a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for, the quality is very good and the meat is locally sourced.You have ample parking spaces.The ambiance us nice and pleasent.

After good,yet not impressive starter from wildpate I was surprised with taste explosion and softines of hertenstuk with brandy saus. This high level of satisfaction kept through the desserts of apple crumble and proper (strongest I ever had Irish coffee.

On the day of the commemoration of Market Garden - 75 years ago - in the presence of Princess Beatrix and Prince Charles, my wife and I enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant: Planken-Wambuis. The venison was excellent served.The estate has its name from the inn annex farm, which was built in 1782 for Assuer Jan Torck, lord of Rosendaal. Planken (ShelvesWambuis, located in the Reemsterveld, consisting of Huys Hof and Koorenlanden.The name Planken Wambuis has endured time. The basic word of this is found in the Gothic word "wamba", which means belly. It is also related to the English word "womb". Also in Dutch one comes across the word "wamme" in the meaning of belly and intestines. The parallel between uterus and inn is obvious: both offer sheltered temporary accommodation. Planken Wambuis was the name given to an inn. An inn executed in wood construction. Just like many inns, especially if they were just outside the city walls. After all, they were then in the field of defense of the defenders of the city, and therefore had to be able to be quickly demolished or burned down if necessary. Moreover, building in wood was cheaper than building is stone.

It took us very long to get our food and the meat came out cold. There wasnt enough staff but they were friendly and the terrace is very nice.

Great, cozy restaurant for dining. Meat preparation (both chicken and lambwas very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful! After a small mistake, they corrected it with a friendly compensation. Soup, dinner and dessert were all 3 prepared with the best ingredients and knowledge. Recommended!

Set in amongst the forest in the Veluwe means that you start getting a special feeling even before you get there. This happens even more when walking in from the carpark.The inside is cosy and fitting and we were greeted by the very friendly staff. We had arrived a lot earlier than our reservation but the staff quickly found us a free table and so we didnt have to wait.The menu choices were incredibly mouthwatering. I had the wild boar and that was delicious and was followed up by a rather decadent chocolate desert.All in all... An evening that exceeded my expectations!

The food was good and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere with a nice terrace outside. Unfortunately the service wasnt very good. Our waitress was quite slow, we had to wait a long time until we were able to order eventhough there werent many guests. Also not very friendly or responsive to requests. Could have been a nicer experience overall.

A nice restaurant, located between Arnhem and Ede in the middle of the Forrest. An ideal spot to go for a lunch or something to drink after a long walk in the area. The place is usually crowded with people and therefore it seems to be quite popular.The food and service is good. The personel is hospitable and willing to help.
