Placebo 安慰劑小酒館 - Pub in Taipei, Taiwan
Placebo 安慰劑小酒館 in Taipei
Description
Cocktails in traditional Chinese vibe
A new favorite in Taipei, great drinks, great service, friendly people!
Small place with good drinks, definitely a good place to hangout with friends!
Cool setting, very unique, great vibe.
Charming little bar with a crazy punchbowl that should come with water and maybe a minimum number in your party: whoa!
MoreWouldn’t go back. Mainly because of poor hospitality, unfriendly rule about not counting mocktails as their minimum order and giving attitude by saying “it’s a bar”, forgetting our order, cocktails are alright, and wouldn’t take multiple credit cards.
MoreOne of the best bars in taipei
Love the custom giant punch bowls they’re super yummy and pretty! Perfect to share with a group of ~5 but it’s only served on weekdays I believe. Don’t comewith a huge group bc the bar is very small, no reservations, and will only seat you if the whole party is there! I recommend coming early
MoreHad a good time as usual. Unfortunately 2020 has not given me many chances to come visit Taipei, so Ive dropped by 2-3 times already in the last week. Enjoy the food here, menus fun but can still order the classic cocktails.
MoreWe were being treated poorly. Long story short, the waiter accused us of being disrespectful when in fact we were so friendly and generous that we bought drinks for strangers. This is simply unacceptable. We are the customers, yet the waiter killed our vibes by making false accusations. I wish we could subpoena their surveillance cameras to take it to court. I believe they discriminate against people who converse in English since most of the negative reviews on this platform are from English speakers. We were simply having a good time consuming their beverages... and had to undergo an unwelcoming hospitality that was unexpected. Not to mention that the products they offered were subpar, how could such business survive... it is a wonder to me. Please be adviced that that an uncomfortable experience is guaranteed if you dare to speak English at this parlor.
MoreBad hospitality, we respect everyone but the waiters gotta change their attitude. If you don’t feel like working then you can simply take a day off
MoreCozy bar but doesn’t take reservations. Order the huge bowl and you’re good to go. The tropical fruits gin surely is everyone’s favorite.
MoreGreat place but small, maybe about 30 seat max. So better make reservation. Extensive modern cocktail menu. Snacks is available too
MoreOne of the best cozy bar for cocktail in town for sure! Surprisingly their Taiwanese braised dish (滷味was great and if you love spicy, should definitely pair it with their homemade chilli 🤘🏻
MoreCozy place and wonderful cocktails
Love the vibe and decor! Definitely call ahead and reserve. Was turned away 4 times before I finally got a seat one quiet weekday.
MoreLovely little cocktail bar. Definitely a cool place to hang out and have a few drinks.
MoreThis place has the most amazing ambience, the drinks are unique and delicious, and the service is soooo warm and friendly. Absolutely one of my favorite spots in town 🥰
MoreWent with a group of girlfriends. We experienced terrible service from the moment we walked in. The waiter was very rude and rarely came to our table. We were also not notified of a minimum service charge. The drinks were not good enough to have such poor service. I would skip this place, plenty of other fun bars in Taipei. I will not be back.
MoreTry hard to be a unique cultural cocktail bar. Good decor to go after that traditional chinese atmosphere but the drinks are very far away from excellence. Its just a millimeter away from complete disaster. I was especially excited while i was looking through the drink menu. They put a lot of.great ingredients together but while looks good on paper they dont taste well on pallete. If you come for the special cask whiskey, then maybe but i would stay away from this place if you have standards to meet for your friday night drink.
MoreLooking at photos on social media, I was pretty excited to try this place. Upon visiting, it was a small and cozy bar. The layout is more rectangular, has four or so tables, and two bar seats, both able to seat around 7 or so. Loved the interior design, had a Chinese historic environment. Seems to have a wide selection of whiskey. Presentation for the drinks were very on point - also what got me to check out this location. But upon the first sip of each of the cocktails my friends and I had ordered, it was quite disappointing how lackluster they were drinks. When I first looked at the menu, I was excited as they incorporated local Taiwanese tastes to the cocktails - like plum powder and tomato, longan, kaoliang etc. Yet each of the cocktails we tried, the taste was all over the place and just tasted like sours and simple syrup were dumped in to make it taste better. It was a complete 180 from the presentation. Also, each cocktail priced at $400 for the taste did not help the utter disappointment at all.On the bright side, they get 2 stars for the atmosphere and interior decor. I did not order food, so I cannot comment on that.
MoreEVERY time I comes here with friends, they said please wait with usually impatient attitude.AND they always let others people to get in without any clear communications to the rest of us waiting outside. If you want to come here again without reservation? Think twice. There are much better bars in Taipei city and nearby worth your time.
MoreJust a quick stop. Buzzy atmosphere. Good service. Great drink names. Delicious food. Everything I needed in bar #3.
MoreThe atmosphere is great but its a small place. 400 twd for a cocktail seems bit expensive.
MoreIf you are foreigners, you will love all the style all the cocktails with traditional herbs or local flavors.
MoreI like the bartender and the cocktail. Nice atmosphere. Unique decoration. Hongkong style. Recommend for a chill night with friends.
MoreVery busy bar, we went there on Thursday night, it opened at 2000 and in 45 mins. Can’t make a reservation only walk-in.I like the names of their cocktails, very interesting and creative.
MoreChinese style cocktails. To be honest, not quite impressed, also the bartenders’ attitude weren’t so good and it’s too loud to have conversation with friends.
MoreBartebders unique twists on classic cocktails, incorporating local ingredients and their own personal style. Decorated artfully with Chinese styled wooden furniture, this is a great bar to bring friends from out of the country. Definitely a wait on the weekends!
MoreSmall pubs. If crowded you need to wait outside. Slightly noisy with an inventive range of cocktails nicely served but a bit pricey.
MoreSmall place but great cocktails beautifully presented. A bit pricey compared to other bars (400 TWD each drink)
MoreGood vibe! Long line tho
Very cool bar, great vibe and amazing bartenders. Some of the best cocktails Ive had, impressive little selection of Independent bottling of Scotch whisky, some bottled specifically for Bar Placebo! Highly recommend if into cocktails or whisky, it does get busy though.
MoreSmall Chinese stylish place. Creative cocktails. Be sure to make a reservation first.
MoreNice & creative cocktail bar.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The drinks are super unique and delicious. I would highly recommend people to come here if you want cocktail that you can’t find in the US!
MoreVery old Chinese style place and the menu are very interesting. The drink we ordered all good!
MoreVery attractive decor. Small space so seating is limited. Drinks are named interestingly in Chinese. Prices are on the high side. Many English speaking customers. Also serves Taiwanese style bar snacks.
MoreBeautiful little Chinese style bar in the heart of Taipei. The small soace makes it a naturally social place. Great drink selection although theyre not cheap.
MoreIf you are searching for a bar which can provide you cups of Taiwanese creative drink, you definitely cannot miss here.
MoreDrinks are very good and special. The bartenders were very thoughtful that they were always aware of our needs.
MoreLoving the Vintage ambience and the cocktail they serves are fantastic. Some ingredients look weird but it get along really well thou
MoreAwesome little cocktail and whisky bar in the heart of Taipei! Casual and relaxed place, good food and drinks. Check out their amazing whisky range. The owner is a funny guy with a great character. Cool place! Highly recommended!
MoreGreat vibe, excellent food n drinks
Although the space is a bit small, the food and drinks there are awesome. Like the old fashioned and specialties. Will go next time definitely.
MoreGood cocktail and like the deco ,atmosphere here! Must visit again
Unique fusion bar. Many interesting cocktails ($400 NTDin beautiful presentation. Most of their cocktails are sour. Bartenders need to be more professional. Would suggest have a glass and go to next bar.
MoreThe style is very Taiwanese. Drink is very nice and funny.
Love the vibe. they created here. Good atmosphere and good cocktails with very interesting names. A bit pricy though, NT400 per drink.
Moreall the drinks are delicious here and the guys are cool
