Pizzeria O'Vesuvio - Pizza restaurant in Florence, Italy
I waited 1 pizza for 1 hour and it wasn’t tasty. They served me wine in a broken glass and didn’t notice. The place looks like a mess, totally don’t recommend
Excellent pizza. Great service. As good or better than any other pizza I have tried in Florence.
The pizza is average there, the dough was very soft and not crusty at all. Service was okay
Amazing pizza! The owner Marco is absolutely awesome and the staff are attentive and friendly. Food is great
Friendly staff, great food! We had a salad and pizza, they were delicious! The salad had fresh arugula, tomato and a whole ball of fresh mozzarella!! Very good value too!And an impressive football jersey collection!
Some of the finest pizza we had on our 3 week holiday in Italy. The pizza is made right in front of you by two maestro chefs from Napoli. Excellent service from the waiting staff as well. Reasonably priced, especially for quality of food. The dough is as fresh as you can get. Wide variety of pizza options. We ordered a traditional margarita and another with prosciutto and a fresh Burrata cheese. Both were excellent, but the Burrata was our favorite (as you can tell from my wife’s reaction 😂). This would easily cost us 30$+ in the States, but here was around 15$ for both. We came back multiple times. Wish we could go again!
The restaurant is really nice, it has free WiFi, cheap and tasty food, and everything seems to be done with love. Recommended.
Best pizza & calzone we ever had!
- Ok guys, have you decided?- I would like this pizza, please- ok, but have you considered this one instead?- ... I want this pizza.- Ok. Are you sure you dont want this fried pasta for starter?- No, thanks. So while the food were OK the problem was that the waiter treated tourists like ATMs. Quite rude behavior, and luckily rare in Florence otherwise, but I cant recommend a visit to this particular restaurant.
I was queuing for something else in the street and the 3 euro pizza slice was very appealing. It was actually very good, crispy and full of flavour. Service was very quick and the waiter very nice.
Best 3€ ever, beats most of the higher priced places and what they call a slice is a pizza folded in half. Great value and great taste!
So ungrateful visit. Even the employee saw us, she ignored us.And the taste of pizza was the worst. It was the worst pizza in Italy. We should trust the review ;(
Pizza took 20mins to come and was undercooked with tomatoe soup all over it making the whole thing soggy.
Excellent place, pleasing environment and a very delicious, traditional Napoletana pizza!
The pizza here was great. Lost a star because we ordered burrata which was a let down. Stick to the pizza menu people :)
Came here on a recommendation from our Cinque Terre guide, Cris (Walkabout Florence Tours). I thought the pizza was delicious. Service was very fast.
Stay away from these people. They took my order and then I waited 45 minutes for my order. When I went inside to see where the pizza is they said that they didn’t take my order. Also the pizza is not made in a hygienic area. The toilets were disgusting which also shows that the place is not good. The decor inside is so cheesy there are football (soccerjerseys, an american flag, / Californian flag outSide. There is a staff outside trying to lure customers . The staff are rude and don’t wash their hands after smoking a cigarette. I went to another restaurant next door instead.
Pizza was decent, but there was a long wait for our to go order, we had to wait outside, and the pizza was falling apart when they gave it to us. This is also the only place I visited in Florence that wouldnt take credit card for small orders. Very annoying.
Loved the one piece pizza, which was actually a small pizza... great place, cheap for Florence but quite hidden.
Not the place if you are looking for a traditional restaurant/pizzeria, but the pizzas are definitely worth to visit this location.
Waiter was high, messed our order twice and we didnt even get some food at all. Pizzas that we got were good but we waited 30 minutes for them. If you have a chance to fo somewhere else would reccomend that
That was the best pizza I have ever had! It was so delicious that I couldnt even describe it. The price was normal and the staff was very polite.
The pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven and taste amazing. The prices are normal and the food is more than worth it.
Great pizza. The best I eat in Florence 🤩😍
We were enticed by the good reviews but very put off by the reality and didnt end up eating here. The decor was inauthentic with football shirts everywhere. Although it was in a tucked away street there was someone on the door trying hard to entice in customers with a big smile, but when we sat down the server was abrupt and dismissive.
The dough was good but the filling was terrible. Waiters dont have their mask on when approaching tables. We were very disappointed because we were habit ual clients and the quality really dropped 0-100. Dont think were gonna come back
This is the best pizza in Florence! Chewy crust, flavorful sauce and super-friendly service. Call to make a reservation if you plan on going at the weekend!
Great service and delicious pizza. Really enjoyed eating the Vesuvio pizza; fresh ingredients, delicious flavor, and nice size for the price.
The dough is great, the filling is bad. Of the three pizzas we ordered, none were delicious. Bad peeled tomato, a little sausage, carbonara pizza without bacon with peeled tomato. The only good ingredient was burata. I will never eat here again. I only liked the quick and kind service.
Wood fired pizza oven. After eating wood fired pizza in Sicily for a year this would rate as average to above average. But still much better than anything Ive eaten in the States.
Just arriving from Rome where I had awesome pizza, I think this one is better 😁 kids and I loved it. Buenísimo!
I saw this restaurant when preparing for my trip in Firenze, truly the best pizza I had in my all journey and probably one of the best in all Italy. The staff is super nice, extremely good environment and fast service. A must visit for sure! I recommend 5⭐
Poor service especially in the way they handle request. The sitting given to us by the door, squeezy but they wouldn’t allow us to change seats even when there was clearly empty tables . Food wise, pizza was alright , though I found abit salty .
Food is overrated. Went after seeing decent reviews but I found the food was too salty, and though it’s not the worst, it’s also not the best pizza place.Really bad service too. No changing of seats allowed.
Extremely poor service, rude staff. When I was about to pay the bill, spotted overcharging . Counter Staff refunded us by tossing the money onto the table. Never go back there for sure !And , don’t expect to be able to change seats too, you’ll get a flat ‘No’.
The Best pizza I had while I was in Italy and I had a lot. The sauce was also the best I have had. Friendly and great prices this place is a no brainer for anyone who wants a great pizza In Florence!
We went here to find a place close to all of the commotion but also with enough seating to comfortably enjoy our meal. Lots of different pizza options. The pizza was great I think they overdid it on the oil a bit.
I love finding the more local, non-tourist trap spots. Yes, all pizza in Florence is incredible and this was just that. Perfectly cooked in a wood oven. And they made it a ❤️ for me! 😍
Tipical Italian Food with traditional Menu. Friendly staff
MUST TRY THE PIZZA . The chef bake it in front of you with passion and happiness. One of the best places to have authentic and original Italian food. The chef is really friendly and serve your order with passion and love.
Its a nice restaurant in geral. the personel are kind and nice to customers and the food was good (the only thing I disliked was seeing a lasagna going to the microwave before served to a customer). I would just suggest to create the posibility to make our own pizza (like make a choice for the ingredients the customers want from the list you have)
My sister recommended this place and it definitely was a good idea! We shared two pizzas (Vesuvio and a pesto-based on with stuffed crust), and both were delish!! The waiter we had gave great suggestions on the menu and was very friendly. Great fresh pizza for a decent price!!
We asked our Airbnb host where we can eat and she recommended this pizza place to us. I was skeptical at first but they were so welcoming and the pizza was really good. Usually you wouldn’t think about having stuffed crust pizza in Italy but it was so comforting and delicious! And the waiters were so nice! We went there everyday for lunch. It was awesome. Don’t be afraid to ask the waiters on any recommendations on places to see and how to get there. If I’m ever in Italy I will come back again!
We searched all over Italy, and this is the first pizza that was tasty as heaven. Service was wonderful and the server was super pleasant even with his English not being perfect. Pizza and Lasagna are a must try here. I recommend them.
Was recommended by our Duomo climb guide as the place their staff would all go to for pizza at lunch. And honestly, was the best pizza I had in Italy. Very popular with locals, didnt overhear too many tourists in there, but staff had okay English.
Excellent pizza really loved it, I just tried mushroom pizza, margarita pizza and brucuta all amazing and the prices are cheap
Real pizza from the real oven. Price a little bit more than in another pizza place Gusta pizza(they have real pizza too).Pizza very tasty!😋
Very good place to eat a tasty "pizza napoletana" . The prices not too expensive, the menu offers a large variety of pizzas and other dishes, the location is essential but nice. The price for a "Pizza margherita" and a little Coca Cola is 10 euros.
This place was recommended to me by a friend who is an Italian local as the best pizza in Florence and Ive got to say that its pretty darn good! Since I am lactose intolerant/vegan I got the pizza marinara which is the most basic pizza and in my opinion one of the hardest to get right since there are so few ingredients. If a pizzeria cant even get the most basic and simple dish right then the other pizzas definitely arent going to be worth trying. This place however has a great pizza marinara, if they threw some capers and olives on top then I would give it five stars but for the price and the flavour Id say its one of the best pizza mariana Ive had. The crust is just right, not too thick or too hard to chew. The Marinara sauce isnt too salty, but sweet and tangy like how tomatoes are supposed to be. The service can be alright depending on what time you go/which server you meet. Ive had friendly waiters on good days and days where I had to wait 25+mins to order because they were busy and the waiter kept on forgetting about me but thats life I guess? Definitely check this place out as it is one of my two favourite places to get pizza in Florence (the other one is in mercato centrale)!
The pizza is good and you have all of options because the menu is very rich. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
