The major chain's first outlet presents trademark pizzas as well as a downstairs live jazz club.
Absolutely LOVED this jazz club and couldnโt believe it was under a pizza express in central london! We paid ยฃ15 for tickets each and got hours of amazing live jazz. Of course you also have access to the great pizza express menu as well. Olives come free with drinks, and then pizzas are great for sharing.
Absolutely rude and careless staff. Firstly I went there and the waiting lady told us to come 30 minutes later because no waiter available. After 30 minutes we came back, the waiter told us come back 20 minutes later while we can see there are empty seats. After told the waiter he told us come later before he started helping us find a place. Better avoid to save your mood.
Set in the heart of vibrant Soho contemporary live Jazz music plus the best pizzaโs still since the 1970โs the original London pizzeria is a must
Great food, good service. Quick to pay on the app which was ideal as we were short on time.
Absolutely loved this place. The food was superb and the staff were really lovely; all with a great sense of humour. Highly recommended.
Pasta was not cooked fresh and clearly reheated in a microwave! Not a good experience ๐
Great restaurant - pizza without cheese no problem and great food!!! Angel is a legend!!!
My friends and I went into Pizza Express Dean St. after a busy day in London. Staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we entered, especially our waiter Angel who offered a kind and personal service. Would highly recommend!
Spag bol was average, on the bland side actually. Broccolis were burnt and tasted like charcoal. Service was poor. Old Asian lady had poor customer service skills, no smile or warm welcome, didnt offer me a table/seat so stood there awkwardly after she saw me, and the just went ahead and sat myself down, felt like I was intruding..! After the food came, there was a huge leak from the windows and ceiling! Water splashed into my food, dress, onto the floor, and behind me, it was raining on the table! Is this venue even safe?? To top it all off, I was charged a service charge. Lol. What a joke of a business.
Angel was amazing! Our pizza was delish and he made sure my friend had an extra special birthday!
Angel was amazing! He made me feel so special for my birthday! The food was delicious, everyone should come here! Absolutely loved it!
Great music, good service and the pizzas were tasty too!
We went to see Hetty & the Jazzato Band. It was such a great night, amazing music, food and wine. ๐ Friendly staff, quick service and reasonable prices. The whole atmosphere was perfect! ๐๐
Really good pizzas. Consistently good. Especially anything on Romana base. Problem is they can be slow at this branch compared to others in suburbia. Still highly Recomwnded if you are not in a rush. Pizza Express pizzas, well, they just taste better then everyone elseโs, donโt they?
Angel was fabulous. What a star. He is the best sever, and we had a great evening. You must come here!
Richard is amazing thank you so much for your service on the Queens ferneral you have been amazing
It was just a decent experience. Ordered a veg pizza I donโt exactly remember the name but it was like okish. Mushroom was decent too. Dough balls were really nice and spicy and served the purpose. We also ordered couple of juices and hot chocolate that too was decent.Overall: 6/10
Not impressed at all. Lasagne was just tomatoes juice a cream sauce with pasta and a mere few specks of meat. So cream heavy, I couldnt eat it. Even cappuccino barely had any coffee flavour. Just hot milk. Our mains were served before we had finished our shared calamari starter! Very disappointing experience. ๐
We had a wonderful experience here at pizza express Dean street, they have an amazing jazz bar underneath, wonderful food and drinks and very impressed with angelโs service, will definitely re-visit!
The service was fantastic, and the pizza was very nice! We will back again. We will hope see again our waiter Angel
Their pizzas have no cutting line It was very challenging for me
Average pizza express, average food. Toilets are down winding stairs, (Im not sure if they have any on ground floor levelso not brilliant if you have mobility problems.
Amazing first experience. I was wanting to taste their dough balls since my daughter would always tell about it. I loved it and would go back to have only that again and again. Pizza also was very good.
Good venue for a bit of live smooth jazz. Show usually starts at 8pm, best to show up by 7:15 if you want a bite before the show
I would love to say thank you to CiCI despite the rush timeNew frsh smiley face lovely lady made our daygreat service efficient, happy and polite. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in dean Street her suggestions of food was fantastic and no matter what she suggest order I was delighted canโt wait to return and wouldnโt hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in dean street pizzaexpress
I was taken out by my close friends for my 60th birthday which was all a surprise for about 6 weeks .We came to see Shakatak 80s soul group and I grow up with that group going to concerts and buying there records.Great night out and the food was nice.
First of all, the price held on the menu outside is 2ยฃ cheaper which leads to confusion. Second of all, i searched for cuts and since i did not see a single one, asked for it to be sliced. The waitress, said it was already sliced which i assumed to be right. My surprise after opening the envelope: half sliced. 15,40ยฃ for a pizza that it is not sliced (which they only let us take away and i did not have a knifeand overpriced.
My Wife and I visited the club last week to see Shakatak. Itโs our first time at this venue and what a great place, great location , great vibe... The music was absolutely brilliant as was our waitress / server...Update: Every organisation has the odd slip up which I wonโt dwell on, so a measure of that is not the issue but how well itโs dealt with.@PizzaExpress have been absolutely wonderful and extremely considerate to my earlier concerns. So now amended (back to5 stars! Thanks Guys!โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
Grumpy front of house greeter. Very busy, mixed up food a little. Food cane quickly. Standard pizza express menu.
Absolute shambles of a place. I went there as soon as they opened and the lady working the door said they were fully booked (which is fair enough). But she then offered me a stool seat to which I said yes. 20 minutes later, no-one had come to serve me, ask if I wanted any drinks (and it was a heatwave!). Just rude staff who only tended to the tables (of which there were about 10). I walked out the restaurant and will never return.
Cool place, good pizzas, staff good, took some time for them to start up. Had lunch here on a Saturday. At noon it was the 2 of us, at 12:15 or so, it was crawling with kids/mums.
Great place! Great location, tasty pizzas (for a fast foodish place). Very friendly staff and quick service. They have decent wine options as well. Do reccomend.
I have been to few Pizza Express restaurants in the past, however never had such a good service, felt more welcome and the atmosphere was just amazing and relaxing. Food was good as always and must say I am happy daughter insisted on pizza express again as it was well worth it this time
We are regulars to pizza express customers and to be honest , I have to recognise this was the best experience we had. The atmosphere was brilliant , the restaurant looks great, the food was tasty ,the stuff was super and what about the service! Just amazing from a server called Angel, so caring and always keen to help with a smile on his face. Brilliant!
Lovely experience at this pizza express, our server angel was out of this world and did the upmost to help us with whatever we neededโฆ he truly was an angel, not to mention that the food was delicious and the overall vibe was amazing, just what we needed !!
Great salads and pizzas and friendly staff
Our first visit back here after the pandemic. The place has been nicely refitted, and the food and service were excellent, especially the lovely Melanie, deputy manager.
Soon as we were greeted we were asked if we are staying long even though the place was at less than 50% capacity and pretty quiet. We got a rushed impatient impression from this older male waiter who wanted to get the order as soon as possible without any polite greeting or even smile. The food was quick and tasted great, shame the place was incredibly hot and lacked air con on such a hot day though. The atmosphere was calm and didnt get busy in the time we stayed and we stayed for over an hour, it actually took us a while to get the bill and then pay considering how rushed we felt when we entered the place.Wouldnt come again due to service which is a shame. One young waitress seemed sweet who brought the food.
As soon as we walked in the person behind the counter ignored us so we had to interupt what he was doing to ask do we sit or wait. He just said someone will come... when we were seated food took ages, which was fine it was busy, but at least tell us. Went to the toilet and was wandering around and no staff tried to help me. Food was below average. I have been to other branches and this one was by far the worst and staff were really unhelpful and borderline rude :(
Honest to god, best kebab I have ever ordered. Have done it every night for about 2 weeks at one stage. Reasonable price too
Good pizza and service. Very lively and thus noisy. A convenient place to eat whilst out shopping. Not a place for a romantic meal ๐๐
Went to see Brian Simpson & Co, a smooth jazz event with 2 friends of ours downstairs, music was excellent, if thats your bag tho!! Food was good service good, a little cramped for my liking, its a cozy and personal sort of place, were from Worcestershire so not used to London prices, but would definitely recommend a visit, this is the second time weve been, so cant be that bad ๐
Perfect meal and company at Pizza Express Dean Street London. My sister has allergies which can be difficult but the waitress went through the menu and allergy folder with her without a second thought. She was so very kind and helpful. We met the manager when we wanted to pass on this compliment and he too was very appreciative of the great feedback. The meal was so tasty and delicious.I think people spend so much time complaining about this and that but very rarely do we spend time being grateful. We were certainly so very appreciative of the quality and values of this team of people at Pizza Express. Keep up the great work. Thank you
5โ Fabulous service throughout! We arrived unbooked on saturday, waited just a few mins before seated, the service was within minutes and the food was also fast and very nice. We would certainly return when in London and recommend!
Absolutely incredible. I think everything can be made gluten free. Comes on a separate colored tray to make sure. Perfect for #coeliac #celiac #glutenfree . Amazing!
Overlooked this as a jazz venue and was blown away by the quality of the music being proper jazz that didnt panda to being safe in their song choices. Service was great and the food was decent. Only criticism were the drinks selection being a little limited and the cocktails were overly sweet and lacking strength. Will certainly return as the music was quality.
Pizzas are so so to be honest, but jazz ambiance is excellent
This is pizza express flagship restaurant offering live Jazz in the downstairs room. ยฃ25 per ticket to watch and there is table sevice while watching the band.
This venue downstairs is super. We were very lucky to have great jazz performers. ๐บ @pizzajazzclub @LondonJazzFest, great #livemusic ๐ถ Thank you #DarylSherman and #DigbyFairweatherAs always the pizza was so tasty and the staff were especially friendly. Highly recommended this as a music venue ๐ถ
Updated: Its rather good. I mean - the-livery is fat&forious. Cheep and cheerful. Dont expect pizza to be anything special. Its McDonald of Pizzas - I ordered 2 Go and ate before Elvis left the building. Nithing to it - good place if you never had pizza before.Awful garlic bread - it was a piece of bread dipped in oil no garlic! No cheese. In a hot today shedule no pizza.- update : it was better than before. They have a lot better pizza than opposite the street at PILGRIMS! Also, new staff. Very polite. Only one question... WHY IS YOUR PIZZA THE SIZE OF A SANDWICH!
