Chain pizzeria where chefs in striped t-shirts toss handmade pizzas in a relaxed space.
Went for a pizza making session where we all got to make our own pizza from the grounds up (except for the dough which was handed over to us). It was quite satisfying to be taught by the head pizzaiolo to make a perfect pizza. Mine turned out to be good (see pic). Happy with the effort but struggled to finish my own-made pizza as the crust was a little too dry for my liking. Topped it off with an Eton Mess Sundae. One of our colleagues had her phone snatched by a thief on a cycle just outside the Pizza Express. She obviously was gutted. Nothing wrong with the establishment but the alley is too quiet even on a weekday so keep your possessions safe!
Tucked away just off Cheapside this is another great restaurant in the Pizza Express family. Service fast and efficient and always with a smile even at busy times. Pizza and wine always delicious, skipped dessert this time as yummy couldnt take any more food
Great location and staff. Super fast service despite the busy lunch hour
Good food let down by uncaring service.
Very nice place, I was really impressed with the fast service and amazing fresh food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. *****
Very nice small pizza express , hidden just off the main street. Waiter made a nice fuss over our children.
Fast service, tasty food, friendly staff
We waited for so long for our order. It was delayed for more than 45m I think. I know it was a busy period but keep an eye on all tables. We booked a table in advance so waiting wasnt too long. But I wish the order didnt take forever to arrive.
Decent food, fairly priced and wonderful server.
Good food, quick service even for a busy lunch
Great for a Pizza Express. Very pleasant staff. Everything else is as you would expect it.
Really terrible pizzas at a high price. If you have like for pizzas, this is not the place. Over priced, terrible service, and bland, burnt pizzas.
Great service and quality pizzas. Not much more I could ask for.
Gluten-free pizza was slightly cold.
Somewhat tucked away in the City. It was quiet (we went around 7 30pm), the staff were nice and the food was excellent. I imagine this is busier at lunchtimes and after the summer holiday season
The service was okay and I went in a weekend so be sure to book a day in advance because they dont take saw day booking!
Restaurant full of people on a Friday night, only one member of staff serving that I could see. She tried really hard bless her, I could see in her face she was trying to serve to many people at once and was doing a good job but visably struggling. 3 chefs in the kitchen just chatting and laughing about not particularly doing anything. Got my food, wasnt offered any condiments, table next to me still waiting to order Id eaten my full meal
Definitely one of the quietest and best quality pizza express chain Ive had the pleasure to visit
Great tasty food as always. Lovey staff.
Quick, no-non sense service and decent dine-in Italian!
Typical pizza express experience. Food and service is fine, price is OK, but its nothing special.
Pizza was good and they were open late enough for us to grab a late dinner!
Service a tad slow but very nice atmosphere and outside seating for the rare warm days
Food was good, service very prompt. Perhaps slightly too prompt when ordering but better than sitting round waiting ages.
I visited this establishment earlier this week for a reunion meal. Its really simple to book online and wasnt a problem that we had tastecards. You can get 2 for 1 on all starters, mains and desserts which is fantastic (Sunday to Thursday only). The atmosphere was fairly dead as it was a weekday which was perfect as it can get really busy so shouting becomes a must. Despite that the service was extremely slow and unattentive; our mains came before our starter plates had been removed despite being in situ for around 10minutes. The food is standard pizza express quality so pretty decent. There are toilets and easy access for those with disabilities. All in all a decent place to visit but do invest in a tastecard; we saved £51 on our bill by having 2.
Worst pizza express Ive been to for a long time. Rude waiter. Also had to send back a tiny salad Special to get my usual order instead (so that I felt fed!), it came excessively drenched in olive oil. Had this dish many times before and enjoyed it, this was well below usual standard.
Great pizza, good value (especially if you have a voucher!)
Friendly and efficient staff. Delicious pizza. Lively mini desserts with coffee. Just what was wanted!
Pizza is nice and seems quite authentic but the seating is a bit cramped for me
As always always decent food for a good price. Birthday prosecco was a bargain!!
Lunch time service was busy but we got served very quickly and the meal was enjoyable.
Without doubt the best Pizzas of any I have had from Pizza Express. I hear the chef is from Head Office. He is excellent.
Great place for vegan food. Although I dont like vegan cheese mystified, the offer it. Think the could include a vegan dessert to their menu. Wine tastes good here, cant remember the name of which one I got.
Great food and reasonably priced, but this particular branch in the city was cavernous with no sound muffling so that it was incredibly noisy and we had to shout to communicate.
Typical pizza express. You know what youre getting. Pretty quiet in the evenings but apparently very busy for lunch.
Good food but quite small upstairs so very noisy. Quick service so can be in and out over a lunch break
Place if u want take away or order the pizza. Value for money
Friendly staff, food the usual pizza express standard. I decided to ring in advance to see if they were busy during lunch time . I was greeted by a friendly person who advised me it should be ok and took my name down. I arrived and the service was very good and staff attentive.
The food was good, the waiter did aid a friend with food intolerances. However, when I showed the waitress my o2 priority app, she dismissed it without even reading what it was about.O2 were offering free doeballs with meals, she just said it didnt apply to the restaurant although subsequently I have been informed that it did.The lack of readiness to listen to what a client wants unfortunately dampened my restaurant experience.
You know what you get with a Pizza Express. Food was excellent, good atmosphere and great service.
Great service but as well came one hour before closing time on Friday, limited offers
Good staff and food but too loud even with a half empty restaurant. Tables too close and couldnt hear the person I was sitting across from. Very poor
I had risotto in this Pizza Express Russia Row yesterday and got food poisoning. It ruined our evening at the athletics and I couldnt travel home for hours as I was so ill. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
Uncooked still had a dough base. Well overpriced for a pizza too. Much cheaper and better options in the city
Decent pizza and other foods but can be pricey - although they have an NUS discount if you have an NUS extra card.
Service a but slow, but decent quality food as with any other pizza express.
Lovely staff, and the pizzas are exactly as they should be and cooked perfectly , unlike some other branches.
Good speedy service with friendly staff. Good food that lived up to expectation.
Great Pizza Express, just tucked away from the main street so doesnt get too crowded and the staff are always friendly
Pizzas here are tasteful. I enjoy them a lot. been here several times and will keep coming. I am a big fan of calzone. Like how they bake the dough. The crust is perfect. And all the ingredients are inside. I like it a lot...the classic pizza but in a different way.
