Pizza Express in Macclesfield

A very very much improved experience from a few years ago. Food excellent, serving staff pleasant and efficient.

All 23 family and friends aged from 5 to 76 in our "party", and who were laid at the same table, were looked after splendidly. Everyone on the staff was most welcoming, attentive, friendly, efficient and clearly wanted us to have a great time. Food was excellent value for money and served to all of us more or less at the same time and was piping hot. Couldnt have been a better experience and all this was whilst the restaurant was busy, full and buzzing on a Saturday evening. Excellent! Well done Pizza Express Macclesfield

Family meal at Pizza Express Macclesfield … quite a few of us and the staff were great … especially Susie who coped well with all our various orders and requests. Food great, thank you!

My friends and I visited on Friday the 4th November and to say it was great would be an understatement. We went for a meal to celebrate my friend beating cancer and the staff there were so lovely. The food was great as always but most importantly the staff were so kind to us. As we went to pay a lady which I assume was the manager came over to us and informed us of all the meals and drinks being on the house as a well done for the occasion. Safe to say Id absolutely return again. Thank you to the staff for being so sweet.

Loved their all vegan menu!

Food is really nice and waiters are very friendly. If it is too busy the food takes a while ro come but other than that it is good.

It was great to eat outdoors under the sun 7-8pm Our waitress was brilliant. When she said she gets a %age of the gratitudes I added an amount to the bill

First time ever to a pizza express (my local one closed down before we had chance to try itand it was probably one of the nicest pizzas we have ever had.Staff were so friendly and made sure we were happy with everything. We will be back again next time we are in the area. 😊

Great venue for family meal with children! Great service & enjoyed the food :)

Just not that great. Food was alright, service was poor for the amount of waiting on staff and time of day we visited. Sat with no drink for most of the time we were sat in there, food turned up but no cutlery, gave up waiting for the bill and paid on the way out.

Took 3 of my little friends here yesterday evening the childrens menu was excellent and even had a high chair for the dolly!!! I even had the childrens menu myself x all the food was lovely and our waitress was so lovely definitely go back again xx the children loved the crayons and enjoyed colouring in xx

Went in for my daughters 6th birthday today, the pasta was sent back as it was all stone cold then I took a bite amd there was a piece of glass in my food, just glad it wasnt in the kids food

We love Pizza Express. However, although the food was good, as was the service, the place is in desperate need of a face-lift, especially the toilets.

Service was excellent and first time tasting the food, enjoyed it alot. Will visit pizza express again although price wise it wont be a regular things but I definitely enjoyed it

Fantastic just how do they get pizza so good, a shame about the price of peroni but the pizza makes up for it.

Overall very good experience. Great service and great pizza was let down by the garlic bread and mozzarella cheese starter and hallumi bites sideas not worth the money. Would reccomend for a good pizza

Ordered two pizzas and dough balls to takeaway. They were small and not cheap compared to alternative places. Though they did taste good.

Ordered via deliveroo. The vegan pizza we ordered clearly had non-vegan mozzarella all over it. We tried a dozen times to call the restaurant but nobody would answer, and we left messages but 3 days later and nobody has bothered to return our calls. We got money back via deliveroo but not a word from the restaurant and one of us went hungry that night. I understand that mistakes happen sometimes but would have expected better service from Pizza Express.Beware allergy sufferers or those with dietary requirements!!

Staff very nice and attentive, service good and food came out in good time, food very nice, topping on my pizza was a bit sparse though

Lunch with mum- first one indoors for 18 months. New menu is 👍. Staff lovely as always. Cant wait to go back 🙂.

Really nice food, but be prepared to wait (quite a lot).We booked in for 7 last night, but had to queue outside for 25 minutes (they did apologise and tell us they were running late though). Personally, I think this is fine considering were still going through an epidemic.We were encouraged to check in using the Test and Trace QR code which was encouraging (although the group in front of us just took pictures of it using their camera app 🤦).Upon being seated, it took 10 mintes to get a drink, another 10 minutes to order our food, a further 20 minutes to receive our starter, then a further 25 minutes to receive our main.The food is reasonably priced for the quality, but I cant help but feel that youre purposefully made to wait longer to encourage you to buy more drinks. You can view the menu and pay via their app, but cant order through it (which speaks further to them wanting to control how long you have to wait to order etc., in my opinion).

We really enjoyed our super pizzas. The restaurant had excellent Covid 19 procedures in place. We felt completely relaxed. We wished that more people had been there. It lacked a buzz atmosphere.

We ordered an American Pizza and a Nicsoise Salad.When we got our food home we found the pizza was a burnt Margarita which was tasteless.We are, to say the least, very disappointed!

Food was ok although the pizza was on the cold side. Had to ask for two dishes that didnt arrive with the pizzas. Not many staff working, looked rushed off their feet. Didnt say thank you or goodnight as we left. The paying app is good but does nt allow gift cards to be applied without the waiters input. Would be good if you can order food at your table like in Wetherspoon. On the whole not bad, but not that gr8 either.

Birthday celebration booked in advance for my Grand daughter. I did not appriciate being invited to sit opposite the toilets. Insisted we had another table. More thought needs to go into table layouts.Food was very good, drinks pricey!Staff congregated near the kitchen, difficult to catch their attention.We should have gone to Poynton.

Excellent meal. Great service. The staff were great and facilitated a good birthday party for my daughter at very reasonable price in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Macclesfield Pizza Express is really nice inside, lots of tables and booths.I went to pizza express recently and theyve added bits to the vegan menu which is good to see. Food was great, service was good too 😊

Been a few times the last few months and never been let down. The team have really got their show together. All I can say is they must be happy staff to work this consistently. Thank you!!!!

Starter and dessert were lovely. Main ok, but not great. We had a pre paid card as a gift from a relative, but if we had been paying full price Im not sure wed be so impressed, as we have had better pizza from takeaways for less money. Atmosphere was good, and the staff were lovely, however.

I have been going to Pizza Express in Macclesfield for many years and really enjoyed the experience and food until tonight. Unfortunately Deliveroo have moved in and wow what an absolute car crash of a place. Clearly the priority is on pizza deliveries at the massive detriment of the dining experience. Deliveroo drivers and bikers constantly coming in and out of the front door and massive waits for restaurant diners. Clearly the business model has moved to take away. Do not bother going here anymore as the waiters will not tend to you and deliver pizzas to drivers or people ordering take aways. Truely horrifying experience. A real shame. I will not return

Visited on Friday night, was very busy but we were seated without having to wait. Waiter was good and food was nice. Good kids menu

Great food, lovely staff just disappointed we couldnt use a discount voucher, nothing to say this anywhere on the code or restaurant but at 4.45 we asked for the bill and offered the discount code to be no we cant use it on mothers day before 5pm!?! Why we hadnt ordered from the Mothers Day menu, so annoyed as it was 30% off! Would of given more stars otherwise.

Loud and worn out establishment, we only went because of the free bottle of wine offer and I ordered the new beef bolognese. It arrived and i was shocked at the dish, literally no beef in it whatsoever, just pasta and tomato sauce. Absolute disgrace for the price so I told the waiter and he said they have had loads of complaints about it and are thinking of taking it off the menu. I said to take it away and I do not want anything.else. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread to share which was a small piece of bread with a bit of cheese on for £6! My girlfriend finished her meal which was OK but still overpriced. We left very disappointed and night ruined. Will not be going again.

Very impressed by the new menu. I tried the Porchetta (picturedand it was excellent. Starters were expensive though.

The service really need shaking up, may be a good manager could support the staff with a training on customer service. My pizza arrived half cold and most of the time we were left on our own to the point that nobody has came to ask if we want another drink or even offer a dessert menu or pick up our plates.

Its standard pizza express. Very good. Lost a star this time around as the pizza bases were a bit soggy. They were very busy so perhaps rushed the cooking time a little. A bit busy to complain and I ate it so it wasnt too bad. Something to consider by the chefs perhaps. Great service. Clean. Baby changing good. Waiting time for food pretty good considering how busy they were.

Friendly staff, vouchers online always, yummy pizza & desserts. But: expensive drinks, awful acoustics.

Menu is lovely. Staff are mostly fab. The wine however is too expensive at nearly £9 a glass! As a treat for the kids Id go somewhere more reasonably priced next time

We generally go midweek when vouchers are available. Without the vouchers I think the prices are on the high side.I generally stick to a pizza as the Pasta options are limited in variety.Service has always been good, however, thats midweek, so cant comment on busier periods.

Food was ok but overpriced. Came out still feeling hungry, but this could also be attributed to the service which was slow which was a concern as the restaurant was almost empty at the time. Maybe they were having a bad day, but Im reluctant to go back.

Usually love this restaurant but on this occasion we left a bit disappointed. After finishing our main meal we were given dessert menu but nobody came back to take order so we ended up paying and leaving as two young children with us. The refit upstairs looks good though apart from little room when you enter and wait for table.

Firstly we were waiting for a very long time for anyone to approach us to take us to our seat. It was so loud in here I literally had to shout to my partner to hear anything they said. The tables were clean and the decor was lovely. The pizza was okay nothing special: however the pesto pasta was amazing. Also sharing dough ball starter is lovely.
