Chain pizzeria where chefs in striped t-shirts toss handmade pizzas in a relaxed space.
Always good and reasonably priced especially if you voucher up.More expensive now along with general inflation so vouchers even more useful
Once again you advertise gluten free pizza bases but dont have any.So again I sat there with no food while my family eatThis is not the first time this has happened and I can only assume you put gluten free In your marketing to tick a box.No apology from the staff, the comment after me declaring my disappointment of no pizza was enjoy your meal.I presume that was a sarcastic comment? Thanks for that.
Pizza Slow. We ordered 2 pizza and dough balls at 1.45pm. We got our pizza an hour later! The place was practically empty- one big group when we came in, that was pretty much it. The waiter took our order, brought our drinks and then pretty much disappeared. Another waiter came to check on us about 20mins later to ask how we were - we think this is when they realised that our waiter had not put our order through. They finally brought our dough balls 5 minutes later, but we had to wait much longer to get our pizza. The manager did say she would take them off the bill and that they were "short staffed". But we saw 2 waiters (who at some point both went on a coffee break without even glancing at our still empty tableand 3 people in the kitchen, so we did not really understand what she meant. Our pizzas were good, but they had used the wrong base for one of them.Anyway. We had to physically get up from our table (which had not been cleared of empty platesand walk towards the till to get our bill. They had charged us for the dough balls which were supposed to free through the app. The waiter went back to talk about it to the manager, twice. In the end they did not charge us for anything, and the waiter came back to say "youre free to go". Poor form from the manager who should have come to apologise, really. It was our second time at this branch - last time service was already slow (same waiterdespite the half-empty room. We wasted so much time there for what we thought was going to be a quick lunch, which meant we were not able to go to a couple of shops we had planned to visit in a nearby village. We will not come again.
Excellent pizza every time. Kids had a margarita each and me & ‘hug-band’ shared a calabrese, which was delicious!!!
The service was great and the food was lovely. It was a friendly atmosphere
Staff squirted at a customer who wasnt paying attention. Best part of the day. Would recommend.
Spent the day with this one, And yes, she definitely needed a pizza after what we did lol
Sorry to say i dont like food but staff and service was good.
Always enjoy a meal here. Had the vegan pizza ( am vegetarianwas yummy. Great choice and good service.
Friendly staff, pleasant experience, tasty food, quick serviceHot pizza wasnt that hot, kids high chair could be higher
A friend of mine took me there...very helpful bunch of people...really nice and fresh pizzas
We went on a Friday evening and it was busy, the staff were polite but service was slow and the restaurant was very noisy
Lovely pizzas. Usual good quality from Pizza Express and even tastier using Tesco Clubcard Vouchers.
This is nowhere on par with any other pizza express I have ever been to. Glasses and cutlery in the table were dirty. We had to wait so long for our food that the table behind us, who came after us were severed and eaten before we had even received our food. When the doughballs came the server asked us to watch out for them being hot but they were Stome cold and had to send them back. The mains were ok but not the best. Staff just didnt feel like they water to be there. For the amount of money we paid it was definitely not worth it. Will not be returning.
I had planned a lunch party for my wifes birthday and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and the food was great. The ambience was great as i had booked in advance and the staff members took special care to ensure the day was really special.
Got a take away, and was extremely disappointed. The pizzas were really small and paper thin. For some reason, they were also uncut? The dough was rubbery and lacked taste. The toppings were sparse -one of the pizzas we ordered was supposed to have tomatoes on it; there was a half of a cherry tomato. One. Completely unsatisfactory.
Pizza was great, good service and price very reasonable. Get visiting and support your local high street 😀
Had a really wonderful meal here. The staff were friendly and there was loads of choice on the menu. Not just pizza but also pasta, salad and other options. The food came really quickly and was delicious. The restaurant has a nice open and airy feeling with large windows to look out.
Good food and service
Always fantastic service and friendly welcome especially from Acar. Not to mention great pizza 😋
As you would expect good food and drink. Kids anyways enjoy it and can usually get in without booking
This is very much a family restaurant if you looking for a quiet place to dine out this is not the place to go. Food is great my family had thin base pizzas and they all said they were so tasty I had lasagne which was delicious.
Always come here with the kids, we absolutely love it here and the staff are amazing and so nice to us every time we go! Atleast twice a month we go!!!! Our favourite
We went to the restaurant for lunch, l ordered a thin crust pizza. It was full, not like sometimes you only see a few scattered on it. This was a proper one, l was very happy and the homemade chocolate dessert was really yummy and light. The owner mentioned they made it at the premises with natural ingredients.😊
Its what you expect from the brand, which is one of my reliable favourites. Nothing exceptional about the location, though the town is stretching to meet this restaurant (which has been here for yearswith the new Chapel arches waterside development. Good service from table staff who pointed out the new app with offers and helped get started. Cant score it 5 stars just because there are pizza express restaurants with more personality, but equally nothing wrong here.
Went down for valentines meal and it was a very good experience. Not too busy but enough buzz. Service was attentive but not pushy. Food delicious as always
Great food and really friendly, attentive staff. Despite it being busy, the staff were very good. Thanks for a great experience.
Great service, very friendly and attentive staff. Great food. Recommended.
I tried to call to order take away but no one answers the phone. I got a problem with up, it won’t accept my phone number for delivery besides if I ordered take away I can’t pay with gift card which I’d like to use.
Everything was lovely. Starters were great. Pizzas were nice and so was the dessert. Friendly staff and good service.
Really friendly staff and tasty food. We used our Tesco vouchers so felt like a real bargain.
Overall the experience was nice and would recommend going here. No wow factor as its Pizza Express and you mostly know what to expect. We were given a vegan menu only ( by mistakeand so I thought to myself ... "how progressive is Pizza Express?" ... and "ummmm not for me" :o/ . We got the other menu and ordered.
We were made to feel like we werent welcome and were an imposition. The food was OK just the unfriendly waiter really made us not enjoy the experience. PE is usually a nice place to visit.
The team were so brilliant and organised for my sons pizza party. Highly recommend this branch. Lovely food. Thanks again
Great service and great pizza as always. Good entertainment sheets for the kids too with a little game to keep you all entertained while eating.
not good service, our waiter seemed bored and annoyed, pizzas were good however brownies were rock solid and we had to leave them. ice cream had almost fully melted when we got it.
I had a mixed salad which consisted of loads of lettuce, 4 bits of tomato and 6 half pieces of cucumber for £5.00.....overpricedMy lasagne had far too much tomato sauce in it and the portion size was small.....and cost almost £13...again overpriced. They had no halloumi, wont be going back there for a takeaway
Limited menu. 4 or 5 starters all doughy except the chicken wings which theyd ran out of at 8pm. Meaning 3 starters were available. Only 4 or 5 flavours of pizza. Its a pizza restaurant. Very poor. Only one member of staff with a face mask on. The waiter came way too close. Very unacceptable. Chef and brewer last week every member of staff had a visor.
I went here after a little while due to CV19. Whilst I understand the need for new requirements now, some things are really poor. They did not have a lot of the key ingredients to be able to make a some of the dishes on the menu which is understandable. However they also did not have any seasonings avaliable, we asked for salt and they said they did not have any and could not provide it? If they are concerned about the virus and transmission, the least you would expect is a paper disposable sachet of salt.
Well let me just say that this will 1000% be the best pizza I have ever had I will probably of ever had because I cant see any pizza company being better than PIZZA EXPRESS. THIS is what I like about them: there food is fresh, they put care into it, there staff are really friendly, they have so many different choices of pizza whether its toppings or the type of doe. I cant say anything bad about this amazing place to go and eat. And this message is coming from a 13 year old so that fact that I was bothered to do this must be saying something. Go and give them a try.
Popped in for a quick lunch before venturing to London. We happened to have a £20 voucher on us, so queried if it was still valid. The gentleman said yeah, is that all, So I asked for a table for two please. He then said whilst holding his hand up, sit anywhere. After we found our own table, we were given menus without the question of having drinks. After 5-8 minutes, he came over and asked if we were ready, so we ordered drinks, starters and mains. The starters were lovely, I had prawns, my friend had the vegan mushroom. When starters were given, no option for sauces, salt, pepper, chilli oil or anything was given. Later, when mains arrived, we had to go up to the chef counter to ask for chilli oil, salt and pepper. We then were trying to get a waiters attention to order a second drink. As it wasnt a relatively busy lunch, 5 minutes was too long, so we decided to eat up, pay the bill and leave. Once we had the bill, and after we had used our voucher, the waiter tried to pop a joke about the payment bank card declining. As this was the most amount he had spoken to us, neither of us found this humourous. In future, we will think again. Shame.
Best pizza in Maidenhead and a really clean restaurant. Unfortunately not child friendly though - when we’ve taken the kids here we’ve had a lot of side-eye and tutting from young, single patrons out on dates. Not the restaurant’s fault but I just thought I’d mention it. Also watch out for extortionate drink prices (£9 for a large glass of Malbec, £8 for a large beerand staff who add “optional extra” pizza bases onto the bill without telling you. Always use vouchers here for an average 20% off
Friendly family atmosphere and kind staff members. Clean tables, cutlery and crockery, as well as surprisingly clean toilets. However the food we ordered (Pizzawas limp and oily when it got to us not to mention the toppings were overcooked. The fried calamari was chewy and tasteless. Disappointing. The food is extremely over priced for what it turned out to be, would not recommend to anyone looking for good food at good price
Nice setting and atmosphere. There is a good ambience to this place. The tables are not too close to each other and the staff are friendly without being pushy. Food was of very good quality, fresh and cooked just right. Overall a great experience.
Even though it’s a chain restaurant, I can’t say the experience felt too formulaic. Firstly the restaurant is spacious so you’re not tripping over nearby tables. The large floor to ceiling windows also let in enough light to make you feel like you’re almost dining outside. The service is professional and polite, but maybe a little stretched as because we came towards the end of lunch we only had one waiter and one cook servicing the four other tables and ourselves. Down to the food. The starter of bruschetta was larger than I expected and because we were sharing became a bit messy after the thick bread was sawn in half and toppings scattered to the four winds. The dough balls in contrast were easier to manage, but the mayo topping became a increasingly monotonous the more dough balls you consumed. The pizzas were however the saving grace, which is fortunate as the restaurant chain is named after it. The spinach pizza with egg was thoroughly light and enjoyable, although the egg would have sent you into rapture if it was more runny and less solid. The spicy pepperoni and half jalapeños pizza was genuinely spicy and coming from someone who can handle spice, that’s no mean feat. Anyway the food was pretty good and I think overall, the meal was enjoyable and good value for money.
A great pizza express, located near the Sainsburys car park on the centre of town - so easy parking. Tables arent too crowded and a nice high ceiling create a good atmosphere. This was my second visit and the food was good and staff friendly, helpful and great with the kids!
The dough used for pizza base is not good at all. Heavy to cat, heavy to chew, is hard and gummy. It was my first experience there and probably the last. Otherwise ingredients are good and latte coffee with salted caramel delicious. But not pizza anymore.
Food is good quality and always fresh. Disappointingly long time to get it though, table seated after us got their (larger order before us. Waiter didnt seem to care.Piccolo size pizza seems smaller than I remember.
Great food.. fast service.. but a bit too fast to give out each course. Should be a little time in between..
I didnt enjoy my experience at Pizza Express unfortunately because of several factors:1. The long wait for the food2. The quality of the foodand the value for money. When I visited Pizza Express I went with another family member and between us we purchased:1 Appletiser ,1 Apple Juice, 1 pizza and 1 pasta. This came up to a total of just over £26. If the food was exceptional then we would have been more than happy to pay that and add a tip on top for the service. But the food was terrible because the pasta was burnt and had large clumps of cheese everywhere and some of the pasta was raw as well so that was terrible and the pizza was sparse of everything: flavour, actual material toppings and value for money. They had literally dumped some tomatoes, pickle and goats cheese onto a piece of hard, cold crust and the result was inedible. The wait for the food was very long and it was so long it made me lose my appetite only to be lost again by the sight of the food.I would not recommend the Pizza Express in Maidenhead but I have been to Pizza Express previously and my experience was great so I dont understand why the service was so bad this time. The previous Pizza Express I had been to was in Marlow if you want a good meal go there.
