Pit Devil BBQ & Catering in Port Lavaca

I had the brisket plate and it was good. It was cooked just right with a slight tug and not over cooked to where it fell apart. The beans, potatoe salad, and rice had good flavor. The plate was reasonably priced for what you got. Thank you for the good food and the awesome customer service.

Man I found another Jewel in deep sown south in Texas this place is a must try if you out this way I promise u want be disappointed. These guys do barbecue right nice juicy meaty beef ribs with beautiful smoke ring I cant wait to Im in the area again its was delicious from the entre to the sides 😋

I’ve been there twice since I arrived to the area. The brisket is really good and tender (no need of a knife). The service is good and fast. I recommend this place for sure.

Decent barbecue good portions. I wish they would make their barbecue sauce in house instead of giving you a store-bought high fructose corn syrup sauce.

A recent visit to Port Lavaca Texas had us visiting this restaurant for lunch. We ordered a Texas Plate and shared plenty of food between us. The BBQ was very tender. Its easy to see why it is one of the town favorite places to eat. Its small and unassuming in the historic downtown area of Port Lavaca. Minimal parking, but actually just the correct of room, given the size of the restaurant. Very friendly staff.

After picking up our vehicle from Port Lavaca. My husband and I came in at the last minute. Of course not knowing what time they closed. It was closing time. But, they welcomed us with open arms. I did feel kinda bad at first, I know how it feels when your ready to close and your ready to go home. In my case sometimes I stay just to help out my clients. But, seeing this from someone else, a business owner. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was amazing how they treated us, like family. Its hard to find great restaurants. And great BBQ. Our meals were amazing. Will most def. tell people about this place. The rice was just like my mamas (God Rest her Soul).Thank you again, for inviting us to stay. Thanks a million, from the Martinezs.

I had the brisket fries. It was absolutely delightful. Brisket on top of fries smothered in cheese sauce sounds simple but it hits the spot.

Excellent customer service! Ribs too much fat and brisket to dry no flavor beans plain and no flavor the worst was the rice over cooked and no flavor dry amd old can send pic if i could! I ordered texas plate a little over 20$ for my plate totally not worth a bit!

I have had nothing but a good experience with them. Their food has been on point every time. I highly recommend them to everyone I know. I will continue to go there for their bar b que.

Your menu off by a bit so suggest you fix it you cant add or subtract the young guy infront me took you time count his change now going tell everyone dont go your restraunt. Menu clearly say 7 dollars for brisket sandwich asked what combo came with told you didnt want it you charge me for combo never will go to your place again . Ps your bbq dont even have smoke flavor your cooking in oven .

The Mac And Chesse Was Very Greasy and Ive Had Mac And Chesse Before And I Never Seen So Much Mac and Pieces of Sausages On It I Wont Go Back For That and Over Charging Me and For A Brisket Sandwich Chips a Drink and Mac and Chesse Was $45 Freakin Greedy People Just Lost 20 Customers

Ordered sliced brisket sandwhich. It tasted great! First time here in Port Lavaca, but next time im here ill be back!

I got the Lean Sandwich, it was respectfully my decision that I unfortunately chose white bread to attempt to hold my sandwich together. Id say go for the bun. Brisket was very good. The BBQ sauce was better than the meat. The issue with my review is I ordered the macaroni and cheese.... it was over cooked noodles in milk water. Simply bland and distasteful. Go for the meat, stay for the meat.

The Dino ribs!!!! Only served Friday and Saturday and they sell out so...staff super friendly and food was amazing!!! Turkey leg looked great but we were way too full. Plates come with beans,rice, smoked sausage and potato salad. And say yes to the pickles and onions on the side.

Great bbq!! The brisket was so tender and tasty. We got all the good stuff beans rice potatoe salad chicken. The bbq sauce was perfect. My wife and I and the two kids loved every bite. Decent price for a lot of bbq and sides. Will make it a stop next time we are in the area. Staff was very friendly and helpful helping us decide what to order.

Not the best overall BBQ but the brisket is extremely good, not greasy and its very tender. Portions are small for the price.

Pit Devil BBQ is absolutely one of a kind barbeque! The ribs are...to...die...for!! The meat is so juicy and flavorful. Meat just falls right off the bone 😳. I give them a 5 out of 5...portions are great, they have reasonable prices and outstanding customer service! Very family oriented environment. Definitely a must when stopping in town or driving thru!

My wife and I took a Sunday drive to get out of Houston for a while and took a ride to Port Lavaca. We got hungry and ran across Pit Devil BBQ. Sammy and his staff were absolutely awesome and the brisket and beef ribs were soooo delicious. We will definitely be taking a drive down to Port Lavaca to Pit Devil BBQ get a big plate.

I can say hands down this is the Best BBQ around . The brisket and ribs were super tender and just right amount of smoke flavor. Service was excellent. And the place was Covid-19 approved. Come to Po Laca Town, and enjoy some south Texas BBQ

Ok so found this place on maps and decided to check it out. Stuffed wrapped jalapeños were pretty good, ordered the Texas plate and the sausage and brisket were good but the ribs were not enjoyable lot of fat in it and the meat was tough so basically didn’t eat that at all. My coworker got the same thing and agreed he also got deviled eggs and didn’t enjoy it

They were sold out today, but I was lucky & got to sample the brisket & beef fajita and it was excellent. Im going back tomorrow, already placed my order. If you want outstanding bbq look no further.

Just tried Pit Devil for the first time. Had a stuffed baked potato.It was excellent. I am going back after work and picking up supper for tonight. Even engaged in wonderful conversation while waiting for my carry out.UPDATE: I did go back after work and picked up brisket and sausage - beans- potato salad for my family. Everyone loved it all. Brisket was so tender. Theres not many places that I like their beans - but these were so good. And again - everyone was so friendly with me - while waiting for my order to be boxed up.

Food was amazing first time going & we will definitely go again.... Portions size lets just say you will not be disappointed at all good food amazing service

This BBQ is Amazing! Their nachos and bean bowls are our family fav! Even got the coworkers hooked! Very great people that own and run this place. Always feel welcome and at home here. Only Con is everyone loves them and they sell out pretty quick! So go get you some ASAP!❤️

Love their bbq! My favorite is the bean bowl and the brisket stuffed jalopenos. They are reasonably priced also. Very nice owners & employees. Must try if you are in the area!

Update December 4, 2019: I have in fact eaten at your facility. My momma just told me if I didn’t have anything nice to say to just not say it and leave it be. However, since you claim my review is a mistake, I will go ahead and not be nice. The food was mediocre at best. To be honest Tx bbq is like a religion and well, I don’t think your church is going to make it. The place was clean, but the food just wasn’t good- sorry to burst your bubble. As far as a Facebook post, I have no idea what you mean by that. I didn’t tag you in anything, nor did I see you tagged in anything.

Came in and was ignored by the young male adults at the front. Waited 10 min to be seated. 3 ppl in restaurant. Food was cold and small portioned for the price. The staff were all preoccupied, laughing and cutting up, ignoring any customer. I didn’t get a water refill much less a tea refill. Totally disappointed in the place. Will never come back !!

We have been here many times for dinner. Can never complain about the food and the service is always amazing as well. Great atmosphere and amazing food.

I ordered a rib plate!The ribs were burned and didnt have alot of meat on them..The size of the rib was not equal value of $14.95.Overall Ive had better ribs at "Whites BBQ" for less the price of this place!!!

Absolutely delicious! I Got a loaded baked potato and it was LOADED. Almost couldnt finish it. Employees were very nice and food was great. I recommend eating here.
