Pioneer's Pub - Pub in Vancouver, Canada
Remember those smokey, dungey pubs from the ‘70s? It’s like that only in a strip mall.Cannot recommend sadly
Relaxed ambiance and friendly waitress. Beer specials prices are fair.
Great food. Great service.
Great prices! The food is decent and the prices are excellent. Service is fantastic! Cindy is very efficient and friendly. A great neighbourhood feel. We will be back!
Very rude stuff, they didn’t bring more liquor just cause they were thinking we were drank and that was not right, they do don’t bring our order without reaso, never recommend this garbage place
Best pub around . Im from Vancouver Island and come every two weeks and always stop by there . Staff are vantastic
Pleasant service. Modest environment. Lots of screens. Good specials.
Came for the wings (on Wings night)! They were delicious! There was only one waitress but she was awesome and friendly! Will head back to try some other dishes.
Pretty decent selection of food and drinks. Hubby and I enjoyed our food. Service was a little slow but they seemed understaffed and it was a busy night. Overall a pretty good place, we will be back :)
Food quality and service deteriorated a place we used to go and get GREAT SERVICE now they have one girl ( amazing girltaking care of the entire restaurant wings we’re cold. And cheese on nachos at the bottom melted stuck on the paper Don’t let this place go to the ground w bad service DO SOMETHING
Great pub experience. Friendly and attentive staff and great food.
Holly the bar tender is a doll. I love her. She made my night. Love Kerri Chohan. Pioneer pumpiN with the bass and fortune sound club. Thanks to Snoop Dogg 19 crime labs . Labs my DOG
Nice and friendly neighborhood pub. Good down-to-earth atmosphere. Great food and excellent service.
The Pioneers Pub is a great place to have a drink with friends. It is a comfortable environment to just hang out.
Relaxed neighborhood pub, a hangout place for the locals with cheap beer and patio. Crispy wings are tasty too.
We ordered the 17.50 "Prime Rib" special tonight, what we got was glorified roast beef, it was tough, had to saw through it.If the potatoes were not so lumpy I would say they were from a package, no taste, like they were boiled in plain water.A couple token pieces of cauliflower and bell pepper. The au jus was basically brown salted water, glad I tried it before I put it on my meat.Absolute garbage!
Dropped by the Pioneer for an early dinner. I had a grilled chicken burge my girlfriend the taco salad Both very tasty. No happy hour but prices r very reasonable. Patio seating was not a problem. Very attentive waitress. Willbe back 5 stars. Thnx again
An enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere with numerous sports-centric TV screens to keep one entertained. Tried, and enjoyed, a generous portion of curried stir fry... enough left over for a second meal.
Slow service at bar. Got myself a beer and waited for a friend and then sat down at a table. I ran a tab. Social distancing was normally spaced safe. My friend asked if there were any drink specials. The answer from the server was cold and said no because of Covid. Not a smile or pleasant welcome here. He proceeded withh a beer as well.was quiet inside an dont too loud. We didnt stay long. Left after one drink. I had cash out on the table. The server did actually say thank you and took the cash but didnt offer change. $7.00 tip for 2 draft drinks! Wasnt busy and decided to just leave - service does need improvement. Wont go back.
Cheap wing night: Tues, Wed, Thurs. Aside from the 3 cheap wing nights, the Pi is a great neighborhood pub that has good food and drink specials. There is ample parking and free popcorn. The service is good too.
Great ole Pub with friendly people and really nice Staff. I go there to meet with my friends and to watch a game. Theres a very energetic staff server there that I have noticed on occasion wearing a Referee Uniform, Cap and Whistle. Shed never blow the Whistle on yah a real team spirited gal, lots of fun, fit, and fantastic fast service ! Great Pub to visit Chicken Strips are incredibly juicy !Please "Like" to show me I am making a difference. Thx
Awesome wings! Decent prices, beer cup sizes are a welcome sight. All In all a good old fashioned pub!
Best place in Richmond for wings. Gump, honey garlic and salt & pepper are our favorite and always nice to see Cindy when we are here! She takes care or us. Thank you Cindy!
Food was delicious and the service was great . Your typical neighborhood pub laid back and friendly. With pretty tasty grub. Prices were pretty good too. We dont live in Richmond but will go back.
Great pub, fun times, but can only give this Richmond favourite three stars for still having a poor selection of beer, ales, and especially a lack of locale craft beers on tap. But thats just me. LOL! You are sure to have a good time with friends at the Pioneer. Cheers🍻👍
The poutines, and food overall, is surprisingly good for a bar. The half size poutine and calamari were each pretty much the size of a full order elsewhere. The servers and bar jockey are also really friendly too. :)
This place is looking a bit worn and outdated but it’s location is good, the staff friendly & efficient and the food is good. The drink and wings special deals are great value, solid basic pub food. If you don’t need trendy and flash, the Pioneer offers simply good value in ice cold drinks, good service and tasty pub fare.
Get the chicken strips. Home made honey Mustard is incredible. Otherwise well priced beer, free pop corn, easy place to catch up with friends.
Small pub, with a fun, friendly crowd. Stil has the old popcorn machine as a standard, which is a nice touch. Decent beer selection and really good waitstaff, the karaoke is great if you keep a sense of humour and dont take it too seriously.
Richmonds original pub still going strong, still great staff, still great service, still creating historical memories. The best part is there is even lots to do if like me yiye the designated driver.
I should have taken a picture of the food they put on the plates!! I dont even think it would be fit to feed a dog!! If you cant get a decent breakfast cook then dont make breakfast!! If I could give zero stars I would.... But that was not an option!!
A low key hot spot for wings 3 days a week at 50. Cents each, very cheap beer and bug portion food with a price that cannot be beat. A bonus... Free popcorn! Atmosphere a bit divey.. but still a great casual place for a group of friends to have a gathering or a couple trying to enjoy a meal. This place isnt fancy but its got character and personality!
Had the team at Pioneer put together a burger day for the staff of about 25 and cant say enough about how well everything went. Prompt delivery and excellent food to boot. The legend of the Pioneer Burger is something the staff at our office have come to appreciate immensely. Hats off to Roland for making sure everything went smooth. I would recommend this for anyone in the area for a staff event.
Demolished 120 wings between 4 guys. Their wings are great! Specials on Tuesday to Thursday! Good drink selections with good prices.
There were so many drunk people with the most foul language. It was uncomfortable. I came to see a friend play music. Not my scene at all. Our server Mercedes was excellent though. She handled two drunks that could have turned ugly.
Good neighbourhood pub. Cheap beer, free popcorn. I’ve been coming here over many years.Usually an older crowd but last time I was here I saw a few younger couples come in. Looks promising. Has been known to get a bit rowdy every now and then too. Service has been good each time I’ve been here. Could use a good cleaning.
Great neighbourhood pub. Friendly staff. Good prices and quality food. Daily specials. Karaoke 830pm and prime rib on Friday nights. Live music from time to time. Free fresh popcorn. If you want to borrow a deck of cards just ask! Not fancy but clean and well maintained. People of all ages and lots of regulars. Lots of tvs playing majors games. Cold beer and wine next door til 11pm. Lots of free parking.Would love to see music bingo or trivia night and more music.
Coldest beer on tap in town! Great tasting food and good service. Different events going on throughout the week with a good variety of people of different ages and walks of life. Parking is very good. Always a favorite spot to go to.
This is a great neighbourhood pub thats within walking distance of my home. The servers are pleasant, and helpful. Theres a good selection of beer, & prices are excellent. I had their prime rib dinner (only available on Friday & Saturday). The meat was cooked to perfection and very tender & tasty. It was served with a Caesar Salad, & with mashed potatoes & gravy. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit @ The Pioneers Pub, & look forward to going back!!!😊😀☺🍴🍻🍺🍴
Good. For what it is, a simple neighborhood pub this fits the perfect rating. You wont get "Cordon Bleu" cuisine, no, this is a small humble pub trying to get by so the food is just ok, ok. So come here expecting that.Come here expecting a bit less than perfect service, a bit too salty or a bit too bland food. But there are bonuses, free popcorn, cheap beer, enough screens, good enough pub ambiance. You can imagine you can be part of this community by coming here. Its not gentrified yet, hopefully it remains like that.Keep it up Pioneers Pub, remain like that for another 20 years.
Actually came here because of an article I read. BOBS SUBS ARE BACK in the Pioneer Pub!!! The lady that used to co-own Bobs Subs (RIPis now cooking at Pioneer Pub and has brought her famous Bobs Subs to be served on Saturdays only. Me and my fellow sub fans were so happy to hear this that we headed down the next Saturday after the reading the article. The subs were ok but she changed a couple of things: shes now using leaf lettuce (I prefer the original shredded lettuceand the capicollo was way too salty (she should go back to her original supplier). Also the seasoned fries that now comes with the sub is way too salty as well.Well try it again later and see if she made improvements.
We live in this neighborhood. We came here months ago now on a Sunday afternoon and were treated basically as though we were apart of the furniture. We left immediately after one drink. Not impressed at all.So now months later we decide, ok, maybe we went on a bad day before or the waitress had had a bad day and we go back, again on a sunday afternoon. When we walked in it was busy, about 2/3s of the pub was full. We sat down....and so the waiting begins. We waited and waited and waited. I saw one waitress walk up to a table across from us and clear away dishes and ask if they needed anything else and then away she went. Didnt even turn her head to look our way. Again we waited until we got annoyed enough that my partner got up and walked to the bar to get us our first drink. While she was gone the waitress came to our table and I told her my partner had already gone to get us a drink and she said ok and walked away. So now we have our first beer but no food. Again no service so no menu. Finally managed to get lucky enough to have a waitress come and actually speak to us so we got menus. Too bad we got menus because NOBODY came to find out if we wanted anything from them! Again after some time passed and we are now irritated, kiren gets up and goes to the bar to order our food. After that a waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted a drink so we questioned her on a few things. So I got my drink ordered and kiren asks her about different wines and the woman cuts her off mid sentence and says, "Im really busy. I have a few things to do and then I will come back." Well thats great but you havent even taken my drink order yet!!!!!. So instead of ordering a glass of wine like she wanted, kiren ordered another beer because the woman was obviously not even interested in anything to do with her job. We got the food and the beer and then we paid, which also took forever and then we left.We will never ever go to that place again and I promise I will do everything I can to tell others not to go there either. Worst pub experience of my life!
We ordered a set of honey garlic wings, but were delivered some teriyaki wings. The chef apologized and managed to make us a specially made honey garlic wings with extra garlic and a larger number of wings than we ordered! Great food.
Really slow service, mediocre food (friend ordered a 6oz steak, got about a 3.5oz steak. And it was on special that dayand a rough atmosphere. Clearly the regulars were treated better than us that were just there for lunch and in a hurry. Wouldnt suggest for a lunch place but if its your asthetic to go to a mostly older and "seen some stuff" kind of crowd go for it.
Visited this neighborhood pub on a Sunday night and the place was pretty empty. They have free popcorn that you can scoop up from a machine and as a result the floor was full of popcorn pieces. Ordered beer, chilli cheese fries, and taco salad. They were average and the server forgot my drink order. It is a pretty relaxed place for a pub and you can watch sports or play Keno with friends.
The food was excellent, but the atmosphere was a little off-putting. When the waitress came to our table, she was glad she got to serve some "normal-looking" guys if that means anything. Really great burgers though!
Friendly and cozy neighbourhood pub. Cheap drinks and good food. The bonus is that they have Fuggles and Warlock craft beer on tap, despite the fact the most of the regulars probably just want to drink Budweiser, which sets the Pi apart from other local pubs. Friendly service. Free popcorn. Can get a bit messy, but nothing unexpected from this sort of place.
This place is a throwback pub from the 90s which has kept its old school atmosphere while updating the floors and signage. Very welcoming atmosphere with friendly wait staff, a little slow service but the service was genuine. I ordered salt and pepper wings which as expected, came with some carrot and celery sticks with a side of blue cheese. It was exactly what I expected except they took it to another level, the wings were perfectly crisp with a light panko style breading and the salt and pepper werent overwhelming. No oil residue whatsoever, who Ever is running that fryer has it completely dialed in. It was simple and cooked perfectly. Check it out for sure daily specials with a Friday prime rib dinner. Prices also seemed from the 90s. Great place to throwback a couple pints and have some great wings. Ill be back for sure.
Lots of Tvs for all the football fans . Quick and super friendly service that provided me with a big plate of delicious chili cheese fries and a nice cold Strongbow cider .
Great times anytime - drinks & food are inexpensive compare to other local pubs in Richmond, BC. The staff are friendly & food is always delicious. Its an excellent place to hang out with friends to watch a sports event or for special occasions such as birthday or anniversary celebrations. I love this neighborhood pub for what it is & does for the various local community charitable organizations. You will be glad that you check this gem out! 👍👍👍
