The best pineapple plantation on the island the the least visited. The quality of these pineapples is above the rest, and the tasting is delicious. Highly recommend.

You HAVE to try the pineapple! Preferably not the dry one. Personell is very kind. Good coffee too.

Yes the other reviews say its overpriced fruit but you dont get a personalised tour of the plantation and a detailed explanation of the farm from a supermarket......worth the extra few euros for some fruit

This is a lovely place. The owner and the staff were very kind an patient to show us how pineapples grow. The pineapples were delicious.Definitely a must go!

This is a free tour of the plantation. They take you through 3 places with the trees in different stages and also they display a video with a lot of great info.You can buy whatever you want afterwards.I recommend the pineapple sodas. Very refreshing

Tiago showed us around the plantation and what a legend he was. Amazing English, very friendly and made you feel super welcome. Very interesting to see how pineapples are produced and some great little souvenirs to buy at the shop. Definitely worth a visit.

A must go for Azores, they take you in and let you watch a 7 minute video and then take you on a tour inside of the greenhouses. Our guide spoke very good English and the Tour is free. We got the pineapple, the ice cream, and the Kima. I definitely recommend.

Very kind lady showed us around the plantation, we could taste the pineapple which was great. Finally we could buy some pineapple merch as well. Recommended to visit the pineapple interpretation center first though.

Very nice place. The owner showed us a film explaining the history of his family business and pineapple growth ceremony and gave us a tour of plantation. After that we could buy some small things with pineapple theme and what most important - we could buy fresh pineapples ( they were delicious ). Im my opinion best place to go and try pineapple on the Island.

Since our first visit to another plantation hadnt been that satisfying, we tried this one. We received a warm welcome, followed by a free tour with some interesting infos. The lady who did the tour was very kind. At the end pineapples were waiting for us to be tasted 🍍

Nice place but the guy at the shop seemed to be frustrated giving the same tour couple of times a day. Its still interesting to see how much effort it takes for a single fruit. The tour is free and starts with a movie. After that youll get a small tour of the farm. It takes about 15 minutes overall. The gift shop has some nice Souvenirs and of course different products made of pineapples. The fruit itself seemed to be priced reasonably. Didnt find them cheaper in stores (6€/kg).

Cool little tour. You watch a video then get a chance to look around the greenhouses with a guide. The tour is completely free. You can then try some of the pineapple, which is delicious, as well as buy some produce. Very enjoyable 20 - 30 mins if you’re in the area.There is free parking nearby and a few parking spots right there.

When we entered the staff immediately welcomed us and offered a little explanation video. Afterwards we visited the plantation together and in the end also bought something from the gift shop. Staff was really friendly, nice experience!

Its interesting to see how pineapples grow, if you never seen it before. Short tour, a film and a glass of pineapple lemonade. I liked the show room decorated with old things. The guide tells in detail about growing process and their business. Interesting.

Very nice man explained us all about pineapples. We could also try it. The taste of this pineapple is uncompareable with those from supermarkets.

The only place where I found the legendary "kima ananas". Friendly people and free tour through the plantation. Organic and fresh ananas, perfect and super delicious!

Nice place to visit and get to know the process how to grow pineapples🤩🍍. The guide was open-minded with a lot of knowledge about this process and can answer to all my question. Place with history over 100 years.

Great short tour and if you want after you can buy pineapple and the tour guide can cut it for you or enjoy some pineapple juice

Very nice place which a really recommend to visit! First they show you a film, where you can see how the pineapples grow and what the work at the plantation looks like. Afterwards they show you the different greenhouses and explain again the different stages of the growing pineapples. All our questions got answered perfectly. At the end you can buy a range of pineapple-related products.The visit is free of charge and, even though the Arruda-plantation is nice too, in my opinion Santo Antonio is the better option out of the two pineapple plantations in Ponta Delgada.

Love this place. Really oldschool but you can watch the pineapple educational video and find out the difference between a supermarket pineapple and an organic farm pineapple. then a short greenhouse tour where you will see pineapples grow and the opportunity to buy delicious fruit from this farm. I love this place. Nice staff and a good tour. It was very interesting to see and hear about the plantation. Definitely worth a visit! Pineapples are so strongly associated with the Azores, and learning how theyre grown makes you appreciate them even more.

Super interesting family farmers shop with educational video on the history of the pineapple production on the island and at Santo Antonio. Lovely and careful decoration using local materials and historic details in pineapple husbandry, genuine local products in easy to carry formats - dont miss it! (Half an hour is enough for this visit)

This is a very good option to know more about Azores pineapple.The local guide was very friendly and gave us a very good explanation about the plantation. The tour was free, since they relay on the souvenir store to support the visit.

Very interesting . We walked up from the harbour front. Google maps has 2 routes. We took the slightly longer route which was a gentle climb. The other way is steep. Met by a very pleasant mand who showed us the greenhouses and explained how they worked. Then we watched the pineapple video in the souvenir shop they have. It is free of charge, a tip box - which of course is a ceramic pineapple- is placed next to the till. A toilet is also there to use. It is only a short visit that is spent here but well worth it

The person who gave us a quick tour was great and the tour was free! The tour is very quick so do it on your way downtown. We bought some pineapple beer, a pineapple and a pineapple soda. We got some pineapple caramel candy too. If you like something sweet try that!

We were staying on the northern edge of Ponta Delgado and walked to this Plantation one afternoon.Plantation is a slightly grand term - there are a series of glasshouses, but it was definitely worth the visit.We were met by a really friendly lady who showed us a video of the cultivation process. Who knew so much effort went in! She also explained to us about the ripeness of the final fruit and what to look for when buying/tasting them.We then crossed the road and visited the different glasshouses with the plants in their various stages of growth.Theres a small shop to buy the produce.Its not a long trip (probably about 45 minutes in totalbut worth it if you are in the area. There was no charge and we didnt have to book.The Pineapples are fantastic.

Very interesting tour given bij Joseph, he probably told the same story a thousand times but he is still very enthousiastic to share his knowledge during the tour which makes it a great experience. Highly recommended if you like to know the process of growing pineapples.

Chose to go to this pineapple plantation based on reviews. People are right in regards to it being a little hard to find the location; they are doing renovations. The tour started with a quick video describing the cultivation process, then there was a tour of all the greenhouses with the pineapples in different stages of growth. It was quite interesting and I really did appreciate the tour, having things explained to us. FYI if you do want to try the fresh pineapple, their price was cheaper than we saw in the grocery stores. Definitely would recommend this plantation!

Before taking the little tour, I can honestly say that I knew next to nothing about pineapples. We were impressed about how much work and effort goes into cultivating pineapples on the island. We bought a couple of them to take back home. The taste is super delicious, sweet and nothing like the supermarket-bought ones. The trip to the plantation is definitely worth it if you‘re curious about agriculture and want to taste local produce.🍍

Great place with free tours to pineapple greenhouses.We watched short video about pineapple growth and then very nice guy showed greenhouses with pineapples, explained process and answered all questions we had about pineapples. Really friendly and hospitable staff. We liked this place much more than Pineapples Arruda because there we explored greenhouses by ourselves (without guidewhich is not so interesting.Worth to visit!

Very cosy Azorian Pineapple plantation! The personnel is very kind and will show you the facilities and explain you the growth process of the fruit. There is also a shop where you can buy pineapples, pineapple ice cream, pineapple jam, some merch, etc.A quick and interesting stop.

This is a smaller, organic plantation. We were shown a short introductory film and then had a tour around the facility (20 mins). Very friendly family business! Glad we came here.

Whilst a bit of a trek out of Ponta Delgada by foot, this is well worth the journey.You start by watching a video about the history of the plantation and its techniques, then you have a short tour of the (very hotgreenhouses by a wonderful guide!We bought a delicious pineapple (€6.50 per kilo but organic and very tastyand some ice cream.Probably alright for kids if they like pineapples.

This is a small pineapple warehouse with a free tour. It is along a small road which is a dead end - if you reach the school, you drove too far and should turn back! There was nobody else there and the one staff member inside was happy to play us a short 7-min English video of pineapple cultivation in the Azores which was helpful to see. Then there was a 5-10 minute tour of the greenhouses with explanation - better than the self-guided tour at Pineapples A Arruda. In the warehouse they have a few items for sale including pineapple sweets.
