Pilgrims Huskisson - Vegetarian restaurant in Nowra, Australia
Everytime I have gone to go in they have been closed, what is happing, yall good?
Best milk shake ever. Burger was huge, struggled to finish it all.
Absolutely delicious brekkie. Everything from the toast to grilled tomatoes to butter sauted mushrooms to absolutely killing roast potatoes, were cooked to perfection and our liking. Coffee was delicious too. No wonder, its a local gem by far.
Absolutely terrible. There were 4 of us and we ordered coffees and breakfast.Got the coffees within 10 minutes, proceeded to wait 40 minutes for the food and it didn’t arrive. Spotted the chef eating his own breakfast. After 45 minutes with no food, we asked when the food would be ready and they said “another 10ish minutes” and they hadn’t even started cooking it.There was also no one else there.Do not go there, it was so bad!
This place was awesome! These guys have a menu that is delicious, nutritious, with a diverse range of menu items. Even my most stubborn, meat-eating family member would be pleased by dining here.
Such a shame! Was looking forward to a similar burger that we always enjoy when travelling through Milton. Unfortunately this was a very different experience 😕Missing patty on one of the burgers, not much delicious sauce. A slapped together dry burger on stale bread. Eeeekkk, I paid over $40. 2 burgers and 1 smoothie
Nice coffee and chai but came out luke warm despite the cafe being quiet.Waitress on the till didn’t know the menu when asked - new staff should at least know the ingredients of a smoothie. No vegan menu as advertised online.Nice views of the bay from the outdoor seating.
Long wait times but good tasting wholesome food. Chai was bland and cold.
Amazingly sunny day, where the sky was bluer, than the water ...The friendly, staff, helped with our lunch order, so it was 3 wraps , vege, and vegan, and amazing tofu..that were bursting with fresh and tasty produce..Throw in a soya cap, while waiting, and lunch was done ...Would loved to have dined in , to soak up the days sunshine..But took a photo, to spread the joy..Midweek, in the bay, definitely, cant be beaten..🤗
Surprisingly bad. I had the tomato and feta on toast, which was fine although extremely light on feta. My partner had the big breakfast and honestly every element was so bad, the eggs and beans were comically overcooked, the potatoes were floppy slivers literally swimming in oil, the mushrooms and tomato were fine if extremely bland. We were actually amazed that they had managed to obviously screw up so many elements and still send it out and act like everything was fine. Giving them one star for the audacity. Also, coffee was good.
Visited over the Easter weekend and got charged an extra $15 rather than 15%- this is purely unprofessional. The staff members were unaware of our orders and we waited 1hr and 15 minutes for 3 meals- keep in mind the cafe was not overly busy. When food arrived it was good but definitely not worth the wait. I am disappointed as I have visited other pilgrims cafes and have been impressed.
Im a fan of Pilgrim Cronulla and its a local go to for me. So imagine my disappointment when trying Pilgrim Huskisson. Very poor service, food quality was below average and overall experience left much more to be expected.Felt like all the staff were hung over, with zero care factor.
So disappointing how much its changed in the past 6-12 months. The food was thrown on the plate with no care. The ‘roast’ potatoes were dripping in oil, eggs were very overcooked and I found a hair on the plate for good measure! Such a shame as it was an amazing cafe at one point 😔
Surprisingly inflexible with vegan food - no attempt to cater for vegans. Went out of our way to come here as there is a dedicated vegan menu on the website. Staff advised they only do whats on their vegetarian in-store menu board, but they "can make it all vegan". We can literally eat vegan things anywhere if we ask for half the ingredients to just be removed, including at pilgrims. They couldnt even say if the banana bread was vegan. Would suggest removing the vegan menu off the website and adding a few vegan options to the regular menu.
Delicious burgers! The veggie pattie’s are so crispy and delicious and add such a great texture to the burger. Salads and bun are all super fresh and the sauces are delicious.Opening hours on Google aren’t always accurate so be sure to check on the blackboard out front. Also, it takes a bit of time to craft a burger as delicious as this, so make sure you allow at least 20 minutes if you’re getting takeaway (we ordered at 1:50pm on a Friday)Thanks Pilgrim!
Spectacular! Best food in the area by a long shot. Highly recommend the burgers and wraps!
In general it is a simple countryside ( or beachside cafe). Regular coffee, but their breakfast wrap is amazing. Service is slow so it is good to order in advance.
Perhaps they were having an off day. Order was incorrect and took a long time. After asking for a cheese sandwich for my 18 month old, it was two very thick pieces of sourdough with grated cheese and maybe we just need to be more cultured but Im not sure why a kids burger is covered with sprouts. It was not my 3 yr olds favourite.
Understaffed. Tried to order off the breakfast menu and was told they had run out of all breakfast items at 11:40am... So, after ordering off the lunch menu, the first burger (sandwichcame out after 20 mins, the other 3 took another 25 mins after that?! The Millennium burger patty is good but the other burgers are too dry.
Excellent food. The breakfast wrap was really good, didnt miss my usual bacon at all!
Fantastic vegetarian meal, so good we came back on a short vacation. Super tasty burgers, great breakfast wraps: a true gem. Seating inside, but also close to the shore so you can find yourself some grass to sit and enjoy.
First time eating here, the breakfast burger is to die for, if the first one didnt fill me up I would have gone another, but Im satisfied. It was a bit messy with the mushrooms, tomatoes & avocados falling out but no deduction for that i just ate the messy bits after, it was incredible. When ever Im working close to this place in the mornings Im getting my breakfast burger.Thank you 5 stars from me.
Great menu, lots of delicious choices. Coffee was nice! However their burgers are really hard to eat! They are massive, filled and served without any cutlery. It’s the kind where the filling keeps falling off however big your bite is. It’s not a bad thing, just a hard thing to handle if you’re a small person like me.I’d be back but will get a wrap or something else.
Like most Aussie blokes I love eating meat, but this place makes some tasty vego meals. First breakfast wrap Ive had in my life that didnt have bacon in it and I loved it. Ill definitely come here again. Coffee is great too.
Good food. Had pancake, scrambled egg with sourdough bread and mushrooms baked beans. Coffee was just average and was not hot. Took more than 20 minutes for the food to be prepared maybe due to the large crowd during holiday season.
Excellent vegan food I had the tofu wrap and my friend the burger. A good size so no room for a cake. Had a fresh juice though. Lovely surrounds overlooking the ocean.
Amazing food with great views! Love the Mexican night and the awesome coffee. A must visit for vegetarian food lovers :)
Had a veggie wrap with avocado and hummus. It was super fresh and delicious.Theyve got a great view and the environment is great as well - very inviting. Highly recommended.
Tried their burger and shake. Burger was huge and was made with fresh ingredients. It was a bit messy to eat though. Shake was served in a huge glass and was amazing!
It’s not very often that you find a vegetarian cafe in regional towns, so Pilgrims was definitely a highlight of our weekend getaway. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the view of the inlet is awesome. This place is so popular that there were no tables available, so make sure to book ahead - many walk-ins were turned away!
We didn’t dine in but ordered take away burgers and wraps to take to the beach for lunch. The food is great - both the vegan wrap and the bliss burger were super delicious. I was just a little bit disappointed by the long waiting time (more than 30 minutes in our case for take away foodand that the menu isn’t as big as in other pilgrims. The staff was super lovely though and if it wasn’t for the long wait and the small menu, I would have given 5 stars ;)
Good food and glad to find a vegetarian place to eat in Jervis bay!!
What a find in the Shoalhaven. We were greeted and seated by Chad, the happiest, efficient and most professional waiter around. Our breakfasts, were a veggie dream, loaded with local produce, sourdough from Berry, Husky eggs, home made pesto and bespoke for the fussy members of the group! Regular Flat white, flat white half full, strong flat white, double shot black.... no order was too difficult! Chad delivered everything with a huge SMILE 😀😀😀Highly recommended. Thank you also to Belinda and Fin!
Really good coffee and breakfast. Nice setting and great views! What’s not to love?!
Nice and earthy atmosphere and friendly service. Coffee and food was delicious with speedy service;Açai bowl; amazing texture with a delicious granola would have loved to have seen some fresh fruit on top butProbably one of the best I have had so farCoffee first coffee was a Carmel latte; bit to sweet for my self but a to kk delicious; I also grabbed a latte for take away that was much better!!Happy to come back for coffee and Açai bowl!!
Cute cafe with great vegetarian and vegan options. Portions are MASSIVE so make sure you’re hungry before you go. Only downsides were the cups, which were really really dirty, (see photosand the waiters didn’t seem to know what they were bringing out. Also, one of the girls in our group has a nut allergy and the menu didn’t outline allergens (there were a few nuts in this dish which wasn’t made clear up front). Luckily nothing happened but would have been good to know beforehand.Overall an average experience. 👍
We had dinner here on one of their Mexican nights and had a great meal. Awesome friendly service. We even got complementary nacho chips and hummus before we had ordered while we were still looking through the menu. We ordered the North Shore Plate and Burrito and the meals were really delicious.
Groupon deal was really worth it! Food and juice for $55 for 4. Food was good but not amazing. Good value and atmosphere.
I am not normally a vegetarian but I am glad that I gave this place a shot. Delicious food, generous servings and friendly staff. Thanks guys!
Worth a pilgrimage. The regular menu is great, so is the Mexican evening menu. Try the enchilada, I had it dairy free with vegan cheese and a cashew-based sour cream, magnificent. Ill be back again. During holiday peak it gets busy, order ahead or enjoy the waterfront view while you wait
Absolutely amazing lunch I had with my family. Huge portion (both the food and drinks), superb taste, and excellent customer service.
Excellent food and an amazing view. Mostly inside inside seating. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Its always difficult for vegetarians in tourist places. Luckily Pilgrims huskinson serve vegan food. We tried burgers wraps & fresh juice. It was healthy, stomach filling & worth the price. Overall a guilt free food experience.
The food is good, no doubt, but it took 48 minutes for them to make 2 burgers.. well that is not a problem as long as there is at least some kind of an acknowledgement of the long wait when serving or a slight warning prior when ordering... Honestly speaking even the lack of common courtesy is not a problem but nothing calls for blatant rudeness to your patrons! After waiting patiently for 30 odd minutes, I very politely asked about how long it might take and got a very rude and impolite Dude, cant you wait? It will be brought out when done!OR maybe Huskissons too white, its sand and all, AND Im too brown..Visited on Sunday 4th Jan from 13:30 till 15:00
We had breakfast here three days in a row. Delicious smoothies and juices, really great granola, but the corn fritters were just wrong. Instead of a batter, they were made from egg, so basically they were frittata. And not really nice. We also didnt find their coffee very satisfying. But we like this cafe a lot. The vibe is very laid back; its spacious and not noisy. We will return on our next trip to Husky.
Good value for money. Burgers are messy to eat but very generous in size. Nice vibe, great location and friendly staff.
Tasty generous servings of healthy and locally-sourced good. Friendly and fast service. Beautiful views from balcony table.
Beautiful place with friendly staff who welcomes vegan requests and happy to adjust almost every item in menu. And its tasty!
A great vegetarian cafe with a beautiful view to the marina. They offer all day breakfast and lunch. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ordered a mix salad, the pesto sourdough and a spinach pie. They were delicious, especially the pesto sourdough. A great place to relax!
We ordered 2 vegan North Shore Plates and ended up waiting for over 30 minutes. We were told they could substitute the sour cream with a vegan alternative but what we got wasnt very sour cream like. You can definitely buy/prepare much better alternatives. The service wasnt great and the quality of the food was pretty plain. For $22 a plate I was definitely expecting much better and in my opinion it is not good value for money.I will definitely avoid the other Pilgrims.I hope this feedback can help to improve the service.
