Pierce's Country Cooking - Soul food restaurant in Montgomery, United States
Great home cooking, better than mamas (sorry mama). Very nice people and service, great prices! Will make this a regular stop!!
Amazing food. People were really friendly. Highly recommended.
If you want down home soul food you will be pleased
Food was made with love‼️🙏🏽
Great 👍
As a Northerner, fried chicken isn’t as part of the culinary fabric as it is in the South, so naturally I was looking forward to trying all I could. This little place was the standout. The sides were really good, highly recommend the rice and gravy. But the chicken, that’s the star of the show. The spices were perfect and let me tell you the crunch…it left me speechless at the time. Just go if you’re in Montgomery. Just go and experience that first bite of chicken and tell me it wasn’t worth it. Dare you.
Loyal clientele, food alright. Smelled a bit funny, but it was ok.
Has a nice home, and clean feeling, employees with great personalities serving your food and most of all the food is delicious.
Great food & service !!! Super friendly!!!! Us North Carolina RV people will DEFINITELY BE BACK !!!!!
The food was awful at best 😩 everything we had the chicken taste like wood, green beans, dressing and mac and cheese gross. We threw away all 30 plates and went somewhere else. Waste of money especially for catered event such as a funeral at least allow the family find comfort in the food and that definitely wasnt the case..
Great food !!!! Excellent service !!!Thanks so much for the hospitality from the North Carolina RVers !!!Much love❣️❣️❣️❣️
My favorite Restaurant I have been dining there since the 80s, as a Truck Driver now when I pass through Montgomery, I always find a way to get there even if by Taxi.Love the Food and know the Staff by Names.SOUL FOOD DINNER for less than $20😊
Great service and meal 👍🏿. Need a nap 😴
Best fried chicken Ive ever had!! Everything I have had there so far has been awesome!
Great soul food with great people and best prices in town
They have some of the best grab and go HOME COOKED MEALS!!!!!! Im a 80s baby and they have been around since I was a little girl. That speaks volumes!!!!!!
Located in a sketchy part of town, and figuratively a hole-in-wall is what this place looks like. I bring my mother here sometimes because she likes their southern, home-cooked food. Her only complaint is that their food is too salty. Ive eaten here twice and indeed the food is being overly salted.
I try to patronize Black owned businesses but when u walk into this place you arent greeted. Their attitude is horrible and definitely isnt a welcoming environment. I dont think Ms Pierce would be pleased if she knew customers was treated this way.
It use to be the hottest food restaurant on Fairview. I have tried it several times due to the fact its close by a relative house. Never can I recapture that childhood taste. Its food and its hot...go try it for yourself!
I was looking for for a good soul food spot. But, I wanted only veggies. Ill go down the line. I got rice and gravy. The gravy fell straight through the rice. It was like water poured over it. There was no seasoning or taste to it at all. Thank goodness I had hot sauce. Next, I had greens and green beans which both taste like they were dumped straight out of a can. I had a cornbread muffin which was probably the best thing on the plate. Lastly, I had the Mac & cheese. I took one fork full and put the top back on it. The noodles were over cooked and there couldnt have been any cheese. Worst plate Ive ever gotten from anywhere.
The fried chicken was good, collard greens was okay but needed a little more seasoning/garlic and the Mac n cheese wasn’t homemade like real baked Mac n cheese! It tasted like Kraft box Mac n cheese with the powder cheese my mom used to feed us and the noodles were super super soggy!!!! Tried using the fork to pick up a mouth full and it broke up cause of how soggy it was. I heard great reviews about this place and it did not meet standards or live up to the hype!!
I had the liver and onions. It was so delicious. The cornbread was the best. The staff is so “down home” not Over-friendly but nice. Restaurant is Not fancy but very clean.
Every time I go here I get the same breakfast meal, and mainly every single time, Im charged a different amount for the same exact meal Im always getting. When I question them about it, they come up with some excuse. Also when I questioned the difference in price today I was told that there wasnt a change in prices, but the conecuh sausages were $1 a piece. These arent even whole pieces of conecuh for them to be $1 a piece. I will not be back
My goodness what an exceptional meal. We had baked chicken over cornbread dressing with greens, Limas Mac and Cheese with Peach Cobbler
The food was great!!! And the employees were very nice and helpful and treated me like family!!!
Tasty breakfast served by menu, to order or À la carte
Neck bones was very tender! Macaroni and potatoes were just okay. I didn’t care much for the rice - wasn’t flavorful. Lemonade wasn’t sweet enough for my liking. Food was hot - that’s a plus. Peach cobbler was great!
This place is awesome I can go in get my lunch n b back in my office within minutes. While there u can see them actually cooking fresh food. I love it. I eat there atleast 3 times a week.
Really enjoyed the experience. Food was great. Mac and cheese game is tight..
My family loves this restaurant.i love love their collard greens, cornbread and banana pudding.but trust me when I assure you Ive tried everything on the menu and you will not be disappointed.
Wonderful little Southern Cooking restaurant. Had ribs, black eyed peas, corn bread, greens and corn. All delicious.
I wish they get better quality food. I tried to support them several times & I just can’t. They are nice but the eggs taste just like oil. I really don’t understand how they are serving this food to people. It’s not good & not healthy. Absolutely will not be going back..
Today was my first time visiting them. I called before I came so that I could double check to make sure Google time frame was correct as far as when it opens and because online I saw lunch food but wanted breakfast. The man that answered the phone seemed agitated that I called. I asked if they sold breakfast and what time they opened. It wasnt a very welcoming call at all. I hung up and proceeded to the restaurant. Curb side wasnt all that appealing but it seemed homey enough and clean once I walked in. There was no crowd and only 2 people inside. There was a small breakfast bar and the food LOOKED good. I got rice, scrambled eggs and conecuh sausage with toast. The rice were cooked well, and were hard to the bite, the eggs also were cooked well but had no flavor or seasoning, the conecuh didnt require any seasoning so it was good and so was the toast. The servers didnt smile and didnt really make eye contact. I was really excited about supporting a black owned business, but this time I was slightly let down. I think more restaurants need to go back to customer service and realize that the way the restaurants are presented and how you treat your customers dictate them returning to support you. Everyday you open your doors you should treat your customers as thought it was day 1.
Stopped in while in town visiting The Legacy Museum. Between the two of us we had fried chicken, collards, potato salad, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy and cornbread. Mercy! That was some good eating! Friendly service. Everything tasted like somebody’s wonderful grandmama cooked it and put her foot in the pot.*No Dine-In During COVID*
Salisbury Steak was absolutely delicious!
Service with a Smile!!Excellent Food. Variable from Salads,Deserts, Vegetables,Meats and Sodas. In this day and time food is prepared and safely served to you. Get yours to go!! 😃
Ooh do I love some Pierces...first time I ever went, had heard great things they did not disappoint. Every item that I tried was delicious. Will definitely come back!
This place was just off the highway and I was hungry and on my way from Montgomery to Birmingham. Lots of cars outside so I thought why not. Wow the food was good. They have a different menu prepared each day with many choices of main meat and sides with bread. I had baked chicken, okra and corn, collard greens and corn bread. It was a great value and the people super friendly. It was a hidden gem. The lemonade was also really yummy!! Too bad I was too full for dessert.
Don’t come to town without eating soul food here at Pierces! The buffet has fried chicken, greens, corn and potatoes with a side of corn bread with a crunchy exterior. Yum!
Dressing has pickles/relish in it, giving an incredibly offputting sour taste. Gravy is bland shiny goo thickened with cornstarch. Baked chicken is good, but portions are small (only a leg & thigh...Mudears gives you like 3 legs & 2 thighs!Standard hot water cornbread. The saving grace is the sweet potato souffle - homemade & nutmeggy with a tangy citrus bite! Its missing the buttery, pecan-filled indulgence of Filet & Vines version, but I just call it the healthier choice.
Mayv1, 2019Ordered by phone a to go plate with hamburger steak rice and gravy , black eyed peas & cream corn.. cornbread & added sweet potato pie with lg ice sweet tea.VERY VERY nice employees! Its my bad for getting there close to closing. My main problem was too high of expectations that my hamburger steak would be a hand made patty. It looked like what you get when you buy a frozen box of beef patties. Taste was bland unlike if itd been made fresh and seasoned in house. Also I was expecting brown gravy on it & rice. Not sure what this gravy was but it .... "in my opinion" didnt work with hamburger steak. Cream corn, black eyed Peas & corn bread were very good. Now I added at last minute when I arrived a pc of Sweet potato pie & Sweet tea ... both were perfect. Its been yrs since Ive eaten here. As a hospice RN I would stop by when over that way seeing pts. Its been doing something right to have opened in 1983 & still busy at closing on Wednesday night in 2019. Again I couldnt have asked for nicer people to help me. Ill be back & will make sure its a different menu so I can try different things... but I hope they still have a slice of sweet Potato pie... yummy!
Enjoy eating at this location no problem. I got a takeout order my husband was not satisfied with his foods that normally gets a little bit better.
Visited while traveling. A complete waste of time and gas. Portions are large, and prices are cheap, but nothing was good. Still trying to figure out why the mac n cheese had a thin, sour quality - fake cheese and butter? Idk.
Excellent Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Some of the most amazing owners and workers you will ever meet !Liver and rice is absolutely superb!Home cooked is what youre looking for, this is your place !Customer service is superb from the time you walk in the door !I recommend !
pretty much what i expected. no website, no bathroom. pigs feet were good, sides were solid, we did not care for the ribs but may have been just our personal preference. If you want a quick stop for solid soul food, this is it. If youre expecting greatness or want a nice dining experience, id seek elsewhere
My father and I bought the chitterling dinner plates. They were excellent!! The texture of the chitterling was prepared to perfection. They were seasoned superbly. The staff always make you feel welcome. They go out of their way to cater to the needs and concerns of the customer. Just a GREAT place to eat with a down home atmosphere.
The food was tasteless, dry, too salty and too sweet. We had went to another southern food eatery yesterday that was superb, but not all places have the same cooks and/or standards. We were extremely disappointed.
Very good soul food. Very nice people! Always clean and they will clean your plate off the table when done. You can get it to go as well. If you dine in, just remember to get a tray that is at the beginning of the line. They have cool-aid as well!
This place is awesome and has the best home cooking that you could ever think of having. Im always here 3 or 4 times a week to get my dinner. Oh my the staff is so friendly and sweet.
No frills-Great food! Country cooking. Super nice people run the place! We stopped on our way home fromNew Orleans to Atlanta. Recommend it you want good old hearty victuals.
