Pier B Resort Hotel in Superior

Nice enough place, and tons of amenities. The view and the firepits are incredible and they supply the smores kits. Free coffee in the lobby and in the rooms though the lobby one ran out on me at a half cup. The rooms were nice and the showers being open isnt a big deal like some people seem to wine about. Restaurant is decent but the steaks were not great, pretty bland and not a good sear on them though they did make it rare as requested. Needed a repair on the goofy barn door style bathroom door which was quick, but it kept sliding open on it own. The view of the sundew boat was cool and the location is nice for canal Park, obviously!

My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. It was a last minute booking, and turned out to be a great place to stay.The outdoor hot tub is a great place to unwind and relax after hiking around Gooseberry Falls and other places around Duluth.The view of the lake and bridges is pretty cool too.

Cool place to stay, the views are awesome but the beds suck, hard as a rock, pillows flat as a pancake and the comforter was basically just a sheet… The restaurant had great food and drinks we also had a great server!

Where do I begin?? The staff is extremely friendly and enjoyable to engage with. The rooms are clean and in my experience I have not been able to hear anyone in rooms around mine. The outdoor hot tub is an amazing experience in the winter! Each time I have stayed there I always had a wonderful view of the lift bridge and if you go at the right time you can enjoy the Bentleyville lights from the comfort of the outdoor hot tub.I am a local to Duluth however I spend many days a week walking the board walk with my dog, Pier B is our halfway point out of our 5 mile walk. The staff always gives me and my pup a friendly welcome every time we stop in for our halfway reward of a cocktail. When I say the staff I mean the entire staff, even housekeeping has ran to the lobby to grab my pup a treat when they see us there.Silos restaurant is a clean, elegant atmosphere which I enjoy. They have great appetizers, specifically the nachos! The nachos are actually a plate of chips with toppings on each bite vs your typical mound of chips with fixings only on the top.Now I will say with all these wonderful experiences there was once or twice that things didnt go 100% during my actual stays. However, without hesitation the staff did what they could to resolve any issue and I think that says a lot, sometimes things happen and its how it is dealt with that will determine your opinion of a place. You may be wondering why I would stay at a hotel if I live local??Next time your in town try out Pier B either to stay or just for a cocktail and a bite to eat and you will undoubtedly understand why! Even us locals like to play tourist.

4 stars because of the amenities and location, otherwise it would be 3 stars. Great amenities, very good service, not very nice guest rooms. The hotel is generally expensive, theres some extra value to the high cost because of the amenities, but the quality of the rooms detracts from that perceived value.Its a really great location, on the harbor, walkable to Canal Park for shops, dining, sights, and beach-going. At the hotel, they have bikes you can check out for no extra cost, fire pits with free smores kits, bridge view hot tub, and pickle ball courts. Very good service from hotel staff, and pretty good service from restaurant staff. Despite the rooms, you will have fun here.The rooms... The hotel is going for an industrial feel, but the rooms feel like a light-industrial office converted to a bedroom. I like the exposed concrete, but some curtains at the window would soften the room a bit, and the roller shades at the window are not cut to fit. There is no art, nothing to break up the expanse of wall. The finishes in the bathrooms are very nice, but there are no towel bars, no place to hang up a wash cloth in the shower, and because there is no door on the shower, water goes everywhere, so you end up with a pile of wet towels and nowhere to put them. There are no microwaves, so no way to enjoy left overs, or a meal in the room. Also, the room smelled like corn chips. I couldnt figure out if it was the pillows, the carpet, or what.Overall, the rooms feel cheap, like they were more committed to the industrial concept, and controlling costs by skipping details, than considering comfort. If they want this to be a luxury resort experience, they need to invest in the quality of the guest rooms.

We had our wedding at Pier B and it was perfect! Our room had a perfect view of the lift bridge. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food at Silos was amazing. We had a perfect wedding day and weeklong stay here!

Rooms were great and had a great view of the bridge with ships coming in and out of Duluth. Rooms were clean and very quiet during the night, you could not hear anyone else. Complementary smores kits, fire pit, and bikes. Breakfast is not included in the stay, which was fine, it gave us an opportunity to explore restaurants in the area. Overall, it was a great stay!

I have not stayed there yet but I work lead delivery at happy sleeper mattress and furniture store and we have been bringing them new beds so if you stay there you may get a room with one of our now beds 🙂 and I love the staff their they are always so helpful and always in a great mood.

Very nice stay. I enjoyed the stress relief aromatherapy body wash and shampoo they provided. The front desk was very informative, as was the bartender. Good appetizers and drinks at the restaurant downstairs. The room was nice but the AC unit was extremely loud and outdated. For the price ($500+ ightI would expect a bit more. The shower also wasn’t great, it’s more modern but you get water everywhere. They don’t include any meals at that price point, but do offer free s’mores kits, bikes, and more. Very good location and has a free shuttle within 5 miles of the resort, which is great because there are so many fun breweries and restaurants within 5 miles. They are pet friendly but you have to pay an additional $60 fee.

Great views of the lift bridge but that’s about the only positive thing I can say. Parking is inadequate and mostly far from the building. There are constantly vendor trucks for the restaurant unloading at the front entrance blocking most of the loading area parking spots. The hotel’s s’mores gimmick results in the rooms reeking of campfire and smoke. Walls are thin so noises from the campfire areas outside as well as from adjoining rooms were easily heard while trying to sleep. Save your $$$ and stay elsewhere.

My husband and I got married here last Friday and I have to say, this is without a question the single greatest wedding venue in Duluth. Let me tell you why.Like so many people who get married in this beautiful city, my husband and I didn’t live in town. We have friends and family all over the country who were coming to visit and we wanted to have a beautiful wedding AND show off the city we love so much. Pier B gave us both. With the ability to take a quick walk to Canal Park, gorgeous views of the lake and bridge and the incredible outdoor ceremony setup to take it all in, the space is gorgeous.If you want the most beautiful, purely Duluth wedding, you need to book here.Having the ceremony, reception and lodging all in one spot made it SUPER easy for our guests. No shuttles to coordinate or worrying about guests getting home safe. Everyone was right there.The staff made our day amazing. They were there to help with rain backups, check in to make sure everything was going well and treated us and our guests so incredibly well. The food was amazing, our custom cocktails were perfect and a huge hit, and the outdoor fire pit space was a perfect touch.A huge shout out to Haley & Liza for their 11/10 support leading up to and on the day of the wedding and to our bartender Saul for helping keep the party going.Our wedding was better than we ever could have dreamed up and so much of that is because of this beautiful space and the people who run it. Thank you for bringing our dreams to life and giving us a day we’ll never ever forget.

I dont usually leave a review but just had to tell everyone what an awesome time we had staying at Pier B. My husband and I spent a couple of days there just for a getaway and the bonus is we got to bring our pooch! The staff were all friendly, the restaurant was great and there were so many things to do at the resort! We were in walking distance from Canal Park but outside of all the commotion. Would highly recommend!

This was a perfect place to host a class reunion. There were large windows looking out to the water and a deck that we could go out to. The food was good and the bartender was great!

Im very disappointed in my experience with Pier B/Silos as a wedding guest. My first interaction was for dinner with the bride a few days before the wedding. Majority of the staff had attitudes and it felt like we were an inconvenience any time we asked for something. We werent a "needy" bunch either just simply wanted drinks when ours were empty. Come to day of wedding, again huge attitudes from the staff, many miscommunications with the bride and undercooked unedible steaks thrown away by wedding guests. I had such high hopes for this venue I hope this review helps management teach their staff about service and how to communicate with patrons.

We are at Silos, 24 hours before the Blues Festival begins. Such a great patio in the midst of the lakefront in Duluth. I had the Silos Nachos with pork carnitas. A beautiful plate and the best Ive ever had!

Hotel is located on a pier away from canal Park, but its only a short 5 minutes walk away. They offer free bikes for guests and lots of extras; like concerts, fire pits, and games (basketball, pickle ball, etc).

Rooms are squeaky clean, beds and bedding is comfortable, staff is very friendly and courteous, and views are superb. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because breakfast is not included. For $350-400 per night, a grand breakfast should be included!

Didnt stay there but ate lunch and dinner there. Great place. What a super view of the Duluth Harbor from the inside or out on the back patio/deck area.

My husband and I have stayed at pier b resort for the past 6 years when we go to City on the Hill. Last year 2021 was a bad experience. Gave them another chance this year. Made reservations a year ago and when got here, the rooms I got were not the rooms I requested. The gal at the desk was not helpful. Manager gave discount so I would stop complaining. I was so disappointed in the service. Thanks but this will be our last year supporting the resort...

Past its prime. Needs some sprucing up. I had high hopes. I walked into the room and noticed a bright beautiful yellow cloth chair. As I got closer to the chair it became clear it wasnt so beautiful. It was riddled with stains. Flipped the cushion. It wasnt any better. The bed was sagging although the bedding was very nice. The bathroom was nice as well. Stay for the location and view if you can get one. The restaurant is short staffed and it showed. Glasses were smudged and water stained. Tables werent wiped down. Again, they were short staffed. The front desk staff were pleasant as were the wait staff. There

Excellent hotel/resort! We will never stay anywhere else when we go to Duluth. So much to do and very pet friendly which was a huge bonus for us! S’mores by the fire at night with a massive ship coming through Canal Park was a memory my kids will never forget. Thanks Pier B!

Nice hotel with great views of the lake. Excellent staff who were kind and courteous. They kept everything neat and orderly.One thing is the rooms with balconies that over look the harbor are not private :/ Its nice sometimes to have secluded outdoor space when trying to relax and focus on emails. But overall would come back again :)

Peir B was spectacular. From the moment we checked in to check out. The staff is friendly and helpful. The amenities are fantastic. We enjoyed some of the outdoor activities, live music, fire by the lake, outdoor hot tub, pool and breakfast. We loved every minute of it!!

Went for a birthday weekend with my wife, we were very pleased with the location, staff was great, beds were comfortable and food was good. Was hoping for a little more out of the rooms for the price, (smart tvs, etcbut all in all it was great!!! We will definitely be back!!

Stayed here on a girls weekend and couldnt be more pleased with the choice. There was recreation for all types. Dog friendly which is always a plus for me. The only reason it didnt get 5 stars is because of the bathroom. It was very clean, but I hated the shower stall, and we couldnt lock the bathroom door.

Peir B Resort and Hotel is THE place to stay in Duluth. It’s not your basic chain hotel. PB had something for everyone. Bon fire and s’mores by the lake? YES please! Hot tub with amazing views? Ya! Pet friendly and space for the kids to run. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!

We were in town for a show and couldnt have picked a better place. I was initially booked somewhere else that I thought was pet friendly but on the way to Duluth, I learned they only allowed service animals. I quickly Googled pet friendly hotels (reading the fine print a bit closer& found this gem. Luckily for me, they had a room available that a pet could be in.The rooms were very clean & comfortable, the staff kind, and check in/out was easy. From the firepits tables in the back, mulitple decks overlooking the water and thier breakfast meal ordering system, every thing was flawless. We were close enough to walk to the show at DECC, a beautiful walk along the shore. I wish we could have extended our stay, there were many more activities & amenities we would have liked to explore. We will be back!

We stayed at this hotel second time for a short family trip to Duluth and had a wonderful time again! Summer time offers a lot more activities on the property such as games outside and bike rentals, s’mores and concert views from your window, and the best part - it is all free! Kids really enjoyed warm pool after a long day of walking on the canal park and as a bonus we got to watch one of the longest vessels exit the harbor! Perfect little mini family vacation! Also huge Thank you to the wonderful staff for your exceptional service and hospitality!

So, our reservation was made wrong by staff, then remade, and then cancelled, and remade. So why the 5 star review? After the mistakes were made.....Ownership was taken for those mistakes! Apologies were made, kindness in staff, BEST VIEW Ive ever had in Duluth at a hotel. Wasnt looking for free gifts just wanted to make sure our 1st vacation as a family in 3 years was booked! We received gifts, great service, and best of all our son was able to swim in a pool for the 1st time and loved every minute. So nice to have maturity in staff who tries to "make it right". THANK YOU! Meant so much to me to see the smiles on my husband, kiddo, and our doggie during our stay. Your attitude about it all was the best! Blessings on you all! We hope to get the same room next year and hope our future stay is as pleasant as this one was! SO GRATEFUL!

Overall the stay was fine. Unless youre going to be taking advantage of all of their amenities its overpriced. The pillows were like bags of air, once your head hits them they deflate. We ended up having to get pillows out of our vehicle after the first night. The beds are also very soft and not firm if youre in need of a firmer bed. The restaurant was pretty good and the views of Lake Superior were very nice. Cool place overall, but over priced if youre just passing through.

Went to Duluth for our 10 year anniversary.. stayed here for two nights. The really are only three negatives. 1.Our A/C unit was loud < Which we didnt say anything about>. 2. Slighty pricey, and 3. If I am spending that much... supply some quality toilet paper.... not that single ply sand paper... other then that rooms were great. The fire pits in front of the lake were great, Ended up having some beers and talking to two other random couples till about 1am. Short walk to downtown and canal parkway. Last.. shout out to Cassius front desk / shuttle driver. Nice guy ...

We had a great room with a view & very comfortable.The restaurant was nice overall, I had made a 7 pm reservation, not as crowded when we arrived, but tried to sit us at a high table in the bar area near the servers station, told them we didnt ask for a high table, moved us to a low table by a window we preferred but told us a reservation didnt give us a choice of seating. I thought that was inappropriate.Our waitress was not an issue only didnt check on us regularly enough. Had to ask another person for another drink.Breakfast was a preorder only even if you were going to sit in the restaurant, that wasnt explained at check in.Will try someplace else we travel back again.

We can’t say enough great things about Pier B! Clean, quiet, modern and friendly. The pool & hot tub were clean and ready. The family room gave us space to spread out. We really enjoyed the stay!

First time visit. The overall impression was very good. Check in could have been more informative about how breakfast worked.Had dinner reservations & the hostess was grumpy. She tried to sit us at a high top in the corner next to the wait station in the bar area & when I told her we didnt request a high table her response was snotty that a reservation doesnt offer us a choice of table but sat us near the window in the lower area. I wouldnt go back even though the food was satisfying. Our waitress was busy and didnt check in with us enough. My biggest issue was the hot tub. Should be adult only. Instead it was a kiddy pool with floaters. Gross & disgusting what goes on in there. Not a feature that interested me. Should have had both fire pits open but instead only 1 and Im not interested in sitting with strangers.Only real positive was our view from the room. It was amazing.

Beautiful place! The room was clean and had very comfortable beds. The bartender was great, the food and drinks were delicious. We were in town to see a show and the hotel shuttle dropped us off and picked us up. We will stay here again in the future.

A real special treasure set immediately on the gritty Twin Ports waterfront. Great views. A fun blend of Great Lakes industrial and North Woods cabin.Someone took a lot of time to thing through the details of design, materials and amenities. Very fun.Staff was pleasant and helpful.Rooms were comfortable and hip.

Extremely disappointing. We booked on Booking.com and because of this we were unable to get an upgrade when we checked in. The hotel said Booking. Com are poor to deal with and the hotel wasn’t any help even though there were many rooms available. The room we got had one chair not two as shown in the promo picture. We were told to get on the bed to watch tv. I’m not going to bed at 6:30pm. Washroom sink was plugged with hair and the door didn’t close properly. Instead of going out we decided to have dinner in the Silo dining room. Not great. Sea bass and walleye ok but both served with cold vegetables and cold rice. The waitress was very nice and had the vegetables replaced with hot ones but the wild rice was still cold.The sad part is that the hotel is located on the beautiful picturesque Lake Superior not far from downtown Duluth. On the whole the hotel is beautiful and has great amenities but has some irritating flaws. We had great expectations but we’re very disappointed.🙁Thunder Bay residents travel often to Duluth and this could have been a nice place to stay. We were travelling home from Florida and thought what a nice place to end our vacation. Not!
