Meticulously constructed Modern French dishes in a discreetly decorated dining room.
To our surprise this place was an outrageous disgrace...It has a Michelin star hanging proudly at the entrance as if to say: "trust us, were here to promise you a sensational experience of amazing flavors...", we came with high expectations and left with a huge disappointment, we couldnt find even a single bite that bring us pleasure of taste.Deciding to adopt a concept of 8 or 10 courses made out of the tiniest bites requires some nerve but more than that it requires excellence! The ability to deliver an exceptional mix of flavors condensed into a single harmonious bite is the true mastery behind the concept of lofty, pricy feeding services... I must admit this is one of the few rare cases I had to be so determinedly hard on this place, with all honesty I truly feel its a rip off scam! And Im truly so sorry to be forced to put these words in a place where someone has invested their time, effort and money to create their business... i totally respect the right and freedom of anyone to create what they believe is best, definitely when it comes to tastes and flavors it is not scientific and is totally subjective, but I feel this place has fallen into the area place where their interest and need to be praised and glorified by the looks, the move and the vibe went too far over the simplicity, honesty and self awareness I would expect from anyone considering themselves professionals.Would never consider revisiting this place. It actually make one wonder about the authenticity of the Michelin concept
We had a fantastic meal at Pied a Terre, we had a 6 course tasting meal with wine flight. The staff were so friendly and helpful taking into account our dietary needs and providing choices that suited us as individuals .
Tasty food, not warranting the price point - 1st time @ Pied a Terre .The visit at Pied a Terre came with a huge expectation, given their reputation and signature tasting menus. The food was well presented and tasted nice - but nothing extraordinary. Some of the cooking techniques felt outdated and lacked layers of flavour.Same goes for the service! The waiters were perfectly professional, but overall the experience felt too stuffy.Lastly, for the price we paid, you can find better food and drinks in London.Details below:Party size: 2Atmosphere: 6.5/10Service: 7/10Food: 7.5/10Drinks: 7/10Value for price: 76.5/10Standout: vegan carbonaraDisappointed: fish and vegetable main courses
Great service in an intermittent restaurant. The wine pairing is a must if you are doing the tasting menu. It paired really well with the food and the sommelier took her time to explain. We found the food to be lacking compared to similar priced tasting menus elsewhere, it felt almost aesthetic over flavour. The dessert was a highlight.
Very elegant place. Great service and ambience
Came here to experience the 10 course Vegan menu, and we were not disappointed. Delicious and inventive dishes with great flavours and superb wines picked by the Sommelier. Will come back here again for sure!
We couldn’t have had a better evening. The food was beautifully presented, interesting and - most importantly - delicious. ’Service’ doesn’t feel like quite the word for how welcoming, informative and charming the front of house team were. Everything was done with the quality you’d hope for from a Michelin star restaurant, but with an added element of warmth and care. We were a group of four celebrating an engagement, with various dietary requirements that were looked after perfectly. Great great fun.
I have no idea how anyone could give these guys less than a 5 star review. The food is literally amazing, and the service is on another level. The level of care shown by our servers, the owner and the sommelier was impeccable. They were so engaging, pleasant and knowledgeable about everything they do. We were treated so well, and ate even better- this is not a Michelin star that you leave hungry- trust me.
Excellent. These are not food, these are pieces of art. Worth every penny.
Amazing vegan/vegetarian fine dining restaurant.Came for a belated birthday lunch with my grandma and mum. I am vegan/vegetarian and my mum and grandma don’t eat pork or shellfish. The menus were explained very clearly by staff as they can be a little confusing at first. Happy to accommodate a few switches between the Regular and veggie/vegan menus. The canapés were delicious and each element was explained for us the reasoning behind it. It made for a fun start to the meal and broke any stiffness that you sometimes find in Michelin dining. For the vegan starter I had the tomato summer salad with a tomato sorbet. It was very refreshing and light and presented cleanly. My main was the vegan carbonara and I could not stop talking about it for the whole day. Incredibly moreish and indulgent and even a non-vegan would enjoy the taste of this. For dessert was the honey parfait. This was not vegan but still enjoyable. The only part I didn’t enjoy was the fresh honeycomb on the side but that is personal preference nothing against the dish.Petit fours were classic and very well executed. Overall a wonderful experience with a great FOH team that are a credit to the restaurant. Couldn’t recommend it enough and will be back to try the vegan tasting menu with my partner.
My wife & I ate here during our honeymoon. End to end a fantastic experience. Could not recommend highly enough. Best vegan/vegetarian food I had ever tasted. The cocktail of the day was exceptional as well.
Absolutely incredible experience at Pied a Terre. I proposed to my partner here recently, and the whole team and particularly Chanel did everything to make it so special. Over and above this, explanations were fantastic, wine pairing unique, exciting and very well matched. Food exquisite!
Best meal of my life. Best service I’ve ever had, especially from Paolo and Keiron. A truly remarkable birthday vegan dining experience.
We have eaten at this restaurant twice over 3 years and have had the vegan tasting menu both times. It’s the best vegan tasting menu we’ve had in London and excellent value. Food is faultless and service is exceptional. The restaurant has a lovely ambience.
Price to quality ratio is the main problem with this place. The food is decent but not worth the price by any means.I don’t understand why it’s a Michelin restaurant. For what you get, it should cost half this price in my opinion.
Mind-blowing menu and great service. Really loved the informal but highly professional atmosphere. The wine recommendations were also excellent and prices - very reasonable!
Excellent and interesting food. Its really amazing to see a French restaurant produce such good vegan options. Top service, particularly Chanel, the Head Sommelier, who was fun and very knowledgeable. Pictures dont do the food justice due to low light.
Me and a friend had the vegan tasting menu and it was just SUPERB. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and made our experience so wonderful. Really recommend!!!!!
Had a tasting menu booked for this Saturday months in advance for our wedding anniversary. Get called 48hrs before the booking informing us we have to pay a price increment of 40% to get the tasting menu. 48hrs notice!!Called today by the manager informing they are refunding us our booking because they don’t want us coming because of this negative review.Shocked they cancelled our wedding anniversary reservation. What kind of place is this?!
Outstanding! We had the 10 course vegetarian dinner menu (perhaps two courses more than were needed for us personallyand nearly every mouthful went beyond the expectations of when you think of Pied à Terre.Highlight were the Eggs Kayianna in the capanés, the Summer Tomato Salad for starters (tomato sorbet was something else!and the Baked Soy Bean Terrine for mains. Desserts were light and refreshing, with the only disappointment being the rather sub-par olive oil and vanilla macaron (both were dry and crunchy, rather than soft, gooey and slightly crisp).Overall, an experience that must be had and shared! Even managed to snap a selfie with Exec Chef Asimakis as he was doing the rounds. Special mentions must go to Kieran and Sam for their incredible knowledge and table hospitality throughout the evening.
Probably the best evening in a restaurant we have had. Amazing food, great service and lots of memories. I am writing this with hindsight and I have recommended this restaurant to so many people. It is a treat, but definitely worth it
I spent a morning with Chef Asimakis and his team in the kitchen which provided me with a close-up impression of how much they care about what they do. It’s a tightly run ship and the attention to every detail was meticulous. Lunch and wines were perfectly paired and the sommelier was extremely well informed and articulated her choices in an engaging and interesting manner. I was delighted with my “Kitchen Experience” package and would heartily recommend it to anyone interested in seeing how a restaurant of this calibre works at a “nerve centre” level. Enjoyed a six course lunch with wi e pairing as part of my package. Spectacular as expected.
Food was great but was expecting a bit more attention from the staff?Didn’t feel like a luxury experience to me: wanted to try the vegan canapés on my vegan menu but the lady assumed I was ok with omnivore ones, despite me explicitly noting I wanted the vegan. Seating area was not comfortable, since athere was an AC diffuser blowing cold air on my back for 2 hours and bthe chair springs were rather worn out, which gave me back aches. Had to ask for the bill twice. The bill came out wrong (8 course tasting menu instead of 6). Also, got some snobbish vibes from the two ladies too... shame
Amazing experience. We had the vegan 10 course lunch taster menu which they also managed to make mostly gluten free for me. To have a cheese course as a vegan was a real novelty, and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!
Every single course on the vegan tasting menu, had an element that completely blew my mind! The food and the service far exceeded our expectations. I believe Chef Asimakis is a true culinary genius and the atmosphere and friendly staff made our anniversary meal perfect.Huge bonus points for the restaurants efforts in sustainability and ethical sourcing. I will be making another visit as soon as I can!
Excellent experience. We had the vegan tasting menus with a wine pairing, the food was absolutely delicious and each course was presented in a stunning manner. Especially appreciated the sommeliers wide knowledge, the pairings were perfect. A group next to us somehow seemed to find issues with every course, unfortunate for them, as everyone else in the place seemed to have a lovely time.
Every single thing was perfect and the wine pairings were exceptional. It was a celebration dinner for my mum’s 60th and they made her feel so special. We were so well looked after from the minute we entered the restaurant ☺️
Pied A Terres customer service is completely excellent. After a mistake in our dining experience the first time we visited, the entire team took pains to make it up to me and my partner and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our experience of the restaurant wasnt sullied. The food is fantastic- we had the 10 course vegan menu and various cocktails and whiskey and it was all top quality, and truly delicious. The veg used packed a flavourful punch and the creative presentations almost looked too good to eat.A big thank you to David, Ciara, and Ciaran, as well as the rest of the staff present last night who truly gave use a special dining experience. Ill be recommending Pied A Terre to any friends who would like to experience some of the best food and atmosphere London has to offer.
One of my favourite restaurants. It was our second time here and tasting menu was perfect this time! We had 8 courses tasting menu. I had regular and my partner had vegan one. Both were great and my favourite was panna cotta with pears in wine!! I could just visit for this dessert. Every dish is described and people working at this place creating magical atmosphere. Really good restaurant for romantic lunch or dinner.
lots of the dishes are kind of remake/reinvent from Noma and other places, good foods overall but not good value for money. Far too expensive for what you get compared to others, thats why I only gave 3 stars.
We had the 8 course taster menu and were looking forward to it very much ... well Im pleased to say it didnt disappoint. All of the courses were fantastic - brilliant tasty food, superbly presented and described by the excellent staff. A superb experience, topped off nicely with the expertly chosen pairing wines. A night to remember!!
Lovely 8 course vegetarian tasting menu dinner at this conveniently located restaurant.I had allergies and we are both vegetarian. They catered for us well as I had given my restrictions in advance. Some of the meals were tastier than others but each course had something unique to offer. They have a great selection for vegetarians and vegans.
Incredible, top-end Michelin recognised food.10 course tasting menu is exquisite and delicate.Staff are warm, welcoming, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu.
My wife and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary, 40th birthday and us being 6 months pregnant. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted with a warm reception and genuine happiness for all of our amazing news. We were then seated in an intimate and homely setting (more my style of dinningthe service was impeccable and the servers were knowledgeable and professional whilst also being human. My wife had the Vegan menu which was incredible except for the Vegan cheese (avoid at all costI opted for the meat course which apart from having my own preferences was outstanding from start to finish. We were well and truly full after such an epic meal. Would highly recomend
Loved the vegan tasting menu, but there was a really poor option of vegan wine which left me feeling a little disappointed
Booked a table for a birthday celebration. Ordered the 10 course tasting menu (vegetarian and carnistthe food and service were impeccable. The owner can to our table and served one of the courses which was a nice touch. We finished the meal with a glass of pineau. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality dining experience.
I wasnt very keen on the overall ambience of their public dining space. It looked like they just opened, like an old coat just got out of the heirloom closet. It was too cramped up, the interior display and design was not visually entertaining. The sommelier seemed generic, the recommendation was just submissive. No independent input, whatsoever. The ten-course dinner was all over the place in terms of presentation. The theme was unstructured. The table cloth was rough. I dont feel the vibe. However, I feel full. It was satisfying but didnt really exceed expectations. Going up the toilet was suffocating with creaky stairs. I dont remember going out smelling fresh. Theres no wow factor. It didnt really provide me a feeling of security to be fed and watered, like a place for comfort and relaxation. Just got really bored. And to think I was the earliest and the only one in that restaurant for a good while. When it started gathering more people as the night progressed as I was about to exit, I kept bumping into someone elses chair.
Amazing vegan tasting menu. The food was delicious, the wine pairing was delicious, it was an amazing vegan fine dining experience. My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary, and we had a lovely romantic experience. The service was amazing too, we had a lovely server and a lovely sommelier as well. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially the vegan tasting menu!
Opted for the 10 course vegan tasting menu with paired wine flight. Well thought out menu and we especially enjoyed the Greek influenced dishes. The sommelier was very jolly and what stood out for us was the friendliness and casual approach of the staff. The Michelin starred restaurant thankfully wasnt too formal and the staff were happy to chat and were not rushed. The dishes did the talking and we enjoyed our special evening. It was also a pleasure to meet the chefs - thank you Pied a Terre.
Amazing. The food was mind-blowing, staff was very friendly and treated us so well on our anniversary, and the whole ambiance, plates and lavoche tree(!just added to the whole experience. We had the eight course vegan tasting menu and we cant recommend it enough!
Went for the tasting menu, as most would - have to say that a couple of the courses were truly remarkable. Presentation and service were excellent throughout. Vibe is good and lively. However, many of the dishes were rather forgettable and sadly, that left me feeling underwhelmed overall
I had a very disappointing experience here. Given the price we paid and that it is a Michelin star restaurant, I expected there to be a higher standard than what you would get at another restaurant at the very least.Instead we had a poor experience which included asking for water top ups several times throughout our meal (one of us never had a top up the entire meal because they probably forgot), one of us requested something without sauce and the lady who served us seemed reluctant to accomodate and when we asked another waitress to assist with taking a photo, she was clearly impatient. The sommelier was lovely and helpful however, the general attitude of most of the wait staff was unhelpful and unfriendly.Unfortunately our enjoyment of the food was mostly overshadowed by this experience. The only saving factor was that owner David Moore and executive chef Asimakis had a good chat with us towards the end and gave us a tour of the kitchen which made the last bit fun and personal at least.
Ridiculously overpriced for what it was.Small portions throughout, I left the restaurant still hungry and I dont overeat generally.Awful vegetarian menu, my main course was 3 bites of artichoke. And the canapé of a solitary radish was the least inventive and most underwhelming thing to eat.Inflation of wine menu is terrible, 2 glasses of wine are the same price as a bottle anywhere else.Have had much better quality food at cheaper Michelin restaurants. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
Lives up to the hype. The setting is red, dark and broody. Service is exceptional, attentive and not intrusive. The disease imaginatively created. Ex, baby radishes served in a pot of soil (ground olives). The carrot soup, Jerusalem artichoke and seared halibut were all delicious. For dessert, try the raspberry "fancy name" tower, and the apple terrine. It is certainly a bit expensive, but imagination in cooking costs money. 😏
Read about this restaurant and said that they’re trying to regain the lost Michelin star so was having quite high expectation. The first two courses of the tasting menu were good. Flavours all worked and ingredients were fresh. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Although snails were cooked to perfect, the sauce was way too salty. The ravioli was only a whole snail with the same sauce inside so not sure the point of wrapping it to make into a ravioli. Perhaps different way of making the filling of the ravioli would make the dish more interesting. The seafood dish was cooked ok but then the acidity of the celeriac was way too overpowering. Rabbit was cooked nicely but then again the sauce was too salty to the point of inedible. Cheese dish was good. Pre-dessert was very limey which may help to cleanse the pilate. Dessert itself was nothing very special. The coriander ice cream was nice but the pineapples made the dish tasted cheap.Overall, the food was not outstanding or even specially good. Given it costs over £100 per person for the tasting menu, we would expect much higher quality. With this price range, there are quite a lot more places offer much better food.
Probably could have rated it 3.5 but the food just wasnt so amazing and a bit bland. They count the snacks as a part of a course as well as the palette cleanser which would have been fine if everything was delicious but unfortunately not the case. The main course of pork was probably the best although very small portion. The menu made it sound like there would be intricate dishes but the taste just wasnt there. Dishes looked a lot nicer than what it was. Service was quite good and the restaurant ambience lovely. Shame about the food.
Very nice fine dining restaurant where weve been surprised with a different twist. The restaurant has two dining rooms, one more private than the other and different seatings, from face to face tables or more comfy ones with sofa etc. Food wise its really genuine and tasty. They have different tasting menus, depending on number of courses, vegetarian, seasonal or long one. Service its accurate, friendly and helpful. Theres an extense wine list and pairing available. Definitely worth the try.
Suckling pig starter was very tender, perfectly paired with smoked eel and crisp sweet cabbage. Octopus starter was average, slightly lacking in flavour for me. Main of red mullet was a great combination of flavour and texture - hint of coconut fragrance, with both crisp & tender fish. Service was slightly uncoordinated, but polite none the less. Overall, decent food with friendly service! :)
This restaurant is phenomenal. The food was well presented and tasted just as good as it looked. You have to put all the elements together to get the full flavor out of the dish. The chef is amazing. As good as the food and the a atmosphere was, the servers were just as good as well. We had to add to the tip because the country standard is not enough.
We had an exceptional lunch here midweek. Dining room was quiet as expected given the time. Food was excellent everything from the delicious canapes , bread to the flawless main dishes. Very good value for Michelin star cuisine. Service was attentive and generous.
