Pie shop with many options plus a laid-back eatery with American fare served until afternoon.
came here for lunch around 12, was trying to order breakfast but was rudely told they were only serving lunch which is fine but the attitude was not needed. Once we got our food, our bacon was burnt rock solid and when we asked for mustard they still had such a horrible attitude and the mustard looked inedible bc of how dark and hard it was. The soup was horrendous, has no flavor at all and not even warm! Not worth the money i spent
The best from-scratch chicken pot pie & a side choice of French onion soup; not my thang tho! & Chocolate Silk Pie Mmmm 😋
Our experience was less than par. We were very disappointed in our food and service. When we ordered our pie slices it came with runny melted down ice cream that should have been served with a straw. Very disappointing. We won’t be back!
This place is amazing. Very good, simple, home cooked feeling food. We sat outside on the nice patio, and its gorgeous out here. The service is good also. Havent had a pie yet, but probably taking one to go!
I was driving by and i saw this place so i decided to turned back around and give them a try. The girls behind the counter were super nice. I ordered from the menu and a banana bread loaf. but unfortunately while waiting for my order some older lady walked by me very closely several times without acknowledge me or excusing herself, which it made me think i was invisible to her eyes. Other than that food was good i hope everyone is more friendly the next time i come back with my family!
Do not order anything to be shipped online. Super disappointed in trying to get a box of pies to my family. I never received a confirmation email once I ordered. I called a couple of days after ordering and was transferred to the person who is in charge of shipping. I left her a message but never received a call back. The shipping label was created at 3am that morning and I got a confirmation email it was shipped, but UPS still has no tracking because it hasn’t actually been shipped. I will most likely have to call again today to check the status. I’m not excited about my family getting these pies and considering cancelling the order even if I lose my money - how do I know the pies will even be in date? Will they get sick from them? Are the pies just sitting in an office? Maybe stick to no shipping because it doesn’t seem like there is a priority to help the customers and be timely.Update: order finally arrived. The cherry streusel pie leaked throughout the box. I’m incredibly embarrassed about this whole situation. Won’t be making this mistake ever again.
I have family in Conroe. They invited us out to Conroe for a birthday meal. So I sought out a restaurant that allowed dogs on patio. That search ended with pie in the sky. I wrote pie in the sky just to make sure it was all right to bring a dog. So my special day came. This review for mat not friendly but pie in the sky is awesome. Highly recommend. Good excellent. Staff awesome.
The food and drinks are decent, but two of the waitresses (taller blonde and brunette with clear rim glasseswere so rude that I won’t be back. My chicken was chewy but that happens so I understand! Definitely not worth the detour from 45.
Loved the atmosphere, people were very friendly and helpful and easy to talk to, food was amazing, portions are very large, very clean building even the bathrooms were nice
Dont like ordering at the counter, not a great change. But I want to give you 5 stars for the Oatmeal spice cookies. They were to die for. I got the last 2 today and just tasted them. These are some of the best oatmeal cookies ever.
Great great great place if you want healthy food with awesome pies. I didnt try all the pies, clearly, but the apple streusel I got was phenomenal. The lunch sandwich I ate was healthy and tasty. I highly recommend.
Food was good. Now you go up and order at the counter and they expect a tip when you pay. They do bring the food to your table but never come back to see if you want a drink refill. You have to go back to the counter with your glass for a refill. The atmosphere used to be so much better now its just like another sandwich shop.
I have to leave a negative review about the coerced use of tipping here. If someone is seated and waited on at a cafe, they should always give a good tip for good service. Personally my minimum is 20%. But, to stand and chose products, take them to the register, just so someone can check you out, and ask for a tip is unethical. Does the grocery store, or hardware store checkers expect a tip to check you out?The use of a tipping screen at the checkout forces most people to feel uncomfortable, coercing them to leave a tip for service they didnt recieve. When my family ate there, we stood in line to get drinks and pick up a menu. We were given cups to fill ourselves. We paid for drinks and were ask to tip then. We sat at the table to read menus and figure out everyones order. We stood in line again to order and pay and were ask for tips again. They did bring the order to the table but forgot several items, so we had to go back to checkout to request the items. We decided to get desserts to take home so back to select desserts and go to checkout where Pie in the Sky ask to be tipped again.Pie in the Sky baked goods are not cheap, but asking for a tip with every checkout, when no service is given is ridiculous. I know your answer is just going to tell people to choose no tip or custom tip. But, your checkout requires customers to stand there feeling coerced into giving a tip for nothing. You are basicly a takeout cafe with some tables. None of the other takeout places are forcing tips from customers.
I ordered soft scrambled eggs with grits, bacon and a croissant. The eggs were hard scrambled and cold. The grits wouldn’t even melt butter and were full of undercooked globs. The croissant was acceptable. The service was minimal and very slow considering how many employees were in the front. Not going back.
Good but the counter ordering isnt what Id expect for the prices. Delicious though!
Very disappointed they moved to counter service. We had started to go every weekend not sure if we will continue as it made the dining experience lackluster and complicated the ordering process. Food was good as always though, the coffee however could use some improvement.
They have gone to order at counter and self serve on drink which I like better, however, the last time we went the food was not good. My BTLA was served up with a long black hair on the side (wasn’t touching thankfullywhich set the “gross tone” right off the bat. The sandwich was drenched in sauce and had old, burnt bacon on it and they forgot the egg I asked for. My wife got the French dip only to find out it was covered in mayo which is not suppose to be on a French dip. Potato soup was good but barley warm. Disappointing for sure and we are going to pause going there for a while.
Its okay, I would not return for anything other than the pie. The food itself is okay, I had the biscuits and gravy when I went in as did my husband and my son had the dads plate. The bacon is good however the gravy is VERY heavily seasoned and I am fairly certain they are using far more bacon grease or some type of oil than is necessary. The reflux it set off shortly after is hard to match and usually I avoid oily food entirely as for me it causes an issue so it was unexpected. They also crumble the eggs on top which is weird if you did not want your food mixed together. Perhaps it is garlic in the gravy but it was too much. Now to be fair I do usually like heavily seasoned food but gravy is one of those items that should not be so strongly flavored that is encapsulates the entire meal. I am also pregnant though so my taste has seriously amplified and of course certain one loved flavors have become aversions. We got the pie sampler to share. We picked the buttermilk pecan, the apple pie, the chocolate silk and the cherry. Everyone disliked the chocolate silk and the cherry was subpar. The apple tasted more like dough BUT the buttermilk pecan was very good and I would return for that once I can pair it with coffee again. The sampler comes with ice cream, I did not eat any so I cant say if it is decent or not unfortunately. One should be aware that it is a seat yourself establishment and you order at the register when you walk in. Seating is very limited unfortunately so do not come here for a sit down with a waiter/waitress experience. The womans bathroom could definitely use a clean. The counter girls were nice. Overall if you are in the mood for a pie variety, perhaps try it but if a meal is your intention I would go somewhere else entirely.
Ice cream or Pie? How about BOTH?When the rain yesterday ruined our super fun plans, we headed to Pie in the Sky Pie Co. to turn a few little frowns upside down with some delicious pie shakes!Yes, they do actually put a piece of pie into the blender with ice cream and they are absolutely 100% as good as they sound. What we got:Apple StreuselButtermilk Vanilla PecanChocolate CreamBumbleberryThey had to roll us outta there but it was WORTH IT!
Went for a late breakfast and pie. The sign inside the door stated staff shortages please be patient and with even with light customers was certainly accurate. The food was very good with one exception. They should take the grits off the menu. Just plain awful. Do not order. The pies were exceptional we had a variety plate and our selections were all great. The buttermilk pecan pie was by far the best.
All I can say is YUM!!! THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! My daughter and I tried this restaurant for lunch not far from out hotel. Well worth the trip. I had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant which was perfect! Even my daughter that doesnt care for chicken salad liked it. Then theres the pies...OMG! Heaven on a plate! We tried the sampler with a Strawberry Rhubarb and Vanilla Pecan Buttermilk Pie pieces. I can safely say these were the best Ive ever had. If youre in the area, i recommend giving them a try!
This was one of my favorite spots. I understand the place is short staffed per the note on the door but the service was terrible & we arrived before the rush. They no longer take your order or bring you your food, more of a self serve place now. The servers will walk up to your table and tell you your food and drinks are ready at the bar but can’t bring them to you. Waited so long for silverware my food was cold- not sure if it was already cold or the wait was just so long. Asked for butter and jelly for my toast and never received it.
We loved this place! We needed a light lunch since we had a evening plans, and this place was close by and sounded nice. I had the Cuban sandwich and a side of potato soup, and my mom had the chicken salad on a croissant with a hashbrown casserole. Both were fantastic. We also got a pie split with a buttermilk vanilla pecan slice and a strawberry rhubarb slice. If I’m ever in town again I will definitely stop by again!
Such an amazing establishment! We stopped by today and they are extremely short staffed in the front and back so they let us know if would be a 40 mins wait and we were ok with it! During this wait Ryan did everything he could to make sure that we still enjoyed our experience offering chips, crackers, or a cake ball! Thanks for the amazing service!
I came and got the best chicken pot pie ever a few weeks ago, but unfortunately today I got one that was barely warm with raw dough on the inside all for $11. I get that yall are busy, but so are we. Now we have to stop somewhere else to feed me and my son. Broke my heart today 💔
Walked in, most tables were filled with previous guests dirty plates. Were told to seat ourselves which was slim pickings due to the lack of clean tables. Food was ok, but no one came to check on us after food was delivered. Waited to order pie, but still no one came, so we ended up getting the check at the counter and the pie to go. Pie was good but they didnt put the ice cream or whipped cream even though it was supposed to be there, and they sure did charge us for it. Customer service was terrible. Will not be returning.
I get food from here often as its close to work. My favorite is the Cran-Apple Pecan salad. Sometimes I add the grilled chicken. The salad is always fresh. The desserts are great too. The staff are friendly and polite. Very charming restaurant!
First time here, our server was Madelyn. She was very courteous and provided great customer service. We were pleased with her patience in dealing with the many requests of our big family.Food was great, we enjoyed our breakfast. Well definitely be back!
Best BLTA ( AVOCADOon wheat toast an coleslaw. The Absolutely best sandwich I ever had. great pies. EXCELLENT Chief Eric so was the server. thank you for a delicious meal. I Will Be Back.Especially for the BLTA if they where open tonight I would go back to get another one this eveningThank you for great meal on a hot day hit the spot.
One of my customers requested breakfast from this place and boy was it a hit. The bacon magically disappeared followed closely by the potatoes. Fruits was fresh and the quiche with mango salsa was phenomenal. Definitely a must try location for a meal.
Fantastic sandwiches, pie is great and lots of options.Definitely recommend the burger or the cilantro lime grilled chicken! Can’t go wrong with anything really though!
Hidden jem!! If you’re in the area it’s a must stop on the adventures in Conroe! Nikki and Ryan were the best! Awesome house made chips, cutest patio to sit and enjoy your pie…..they will blend any slice into a milkshake!!! 😍Definitely coming back to try all the desserts and delicious eats! Cheers to the Stubler family and all their associates. See y’all again soon.
We like to visit locally owned establishments and drove 15 minutes off route to try Pie in the Sky Pie out.Was greeted very nicely, told to just have a seat and someone would take our order. We sat outside for over 20 minutes without having anyone even acknowledging that we were there. The food might be great but when multiple staff just walk past you, I think I can find food just as good elsewhere.
The food was good and the pie is great! This place is a vibe! It’s feels homey with an eclectic touch. We had the pie sampler with four pieces of pie with ice cream, the turkey melt plate and a kids meal with Mac n cheese and fruit.
My family and I stopped in for some pie, its the first time here. We did have a little bit of a wait but the pie was worth it. We got a few red velvet cake balls to go. We will be coming back.
Food is not good. Took my family in on Sunday. Seemed everything we ordered was not good. Wife had the chicken pot pie. Had no flavor. We both had salads which the lettuce and veggies were fresh but the dressings had not flavor. Mine was blue cheese. I ordered the Shepards pie. Dry just ground meat/cauliflower and cheese on top. No moisturizer just hamburger and cauliflower. I had to used tobacco to get it down. The Apple strudel is good. Definitely the pies and cakes are good but I think everything else is not good based on the four orders we received. Place is clean and friendly.
Miles was a really great server! His hair was so epic!! Excellent food and decoration too! :)
Fun place just a few miles off the 45. Great place to come in and enjoy some delicious pies with some fantastic staff to accommodate you.If youre a busy body, this is the idea place to come, forget about time, enjoy the flavors of your meal, and soak in the atmosphere.
Absolutely wonderful. The food quality here is superb and it taste like it was made fresh with love ! Great job Pie in the sky!
My food was OK, I was not impressed. We waited for are check for along time. There was some problem with a charge being put on there. Finally it was taken off, then it would not take the credit card. They took my daughters number because there was not a manager there to fix this. The server kept coming over to apologize to the point where it upset my daughter because it became annoying. We just wanted this fixed so we could leave. I know that things happen that is out of our control; however we will continue to go to Pie in the Sky you have great pies.
Been going here for five years now and have always had great food and service. This last weekend was a huge disappointment. It’s been a while since our last visit so not sure if they were having a bad day or if something has changed. Our service was slow, food took 45 minutes when the place was pretty empty. Our food was cold. As you can see in the photo, the butter wouldn’t melt on the pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were room temperature. The eggs had to be remade. We didn’t want to wait for the others to be remade. Yes, they did take the pancakes off the bill, but we wanted hot pancakes that morning. There was a lot of chit chat going on. Maybe the manager wasn’t on the floor that morning. Like I said, usually a very good experience and we will visit again to see if this was a one time event.
First of all I love that some one from this establishment reached out.So I will take the time to write a full review. My daughter and myself tried this place for the first time. She is a fan loves the tuna.I didnt know what to expectI ordered the burger with bacon and cheese and when it arrived it looked good and was tasty less the bacon. Because there wasnt any on it. No big deal but didnt see our server for a while and just ate the burger.I ordered the chocolate pie shake. But got a graham cracker shake with some chocolate in it. And graham cracker is hard to drink through a small paper straw. When we were able to talk to the server about the lack of bacon she said she would remove it but accidentally didnt. But she did give us two cake things.Over all the food isnt my speed. My daughters going to bring her mom to try it with her. So not all bad.Not mad and I dont hate this place it wasnt my slice of pie.
Only had a slice of Peaches and Cream Pie it was very tasty the customer service was excellent the variety of items on the menu is awesome something for everyone its an easy access location its spacious inside and they have electric car charging stations and handicapped parking.
They have the Best pies around town! Great service, nice people & good vibes. Definitely recommend to anyone & everyone.
Food was really good. I dont normally eat soups but got the potato and cleaned my bowl. And pies....OH MY! Buttermilk, Mississippi Mud, coconut cream and apple streussal. So many to choose from. Amazing taste and great price. 4 slices of pie, scoops of cream and bowl of ice cream for $13!
UPDATE: As luck would have it, no sooner than I posted my review below, Pie in the Sky Pie Company did refund my money for the pie I had ordered. It took them a little to respond to me as I’m sure they are busy with the holiday season. Well, I guess whenever I find myself in Conroe, TX I will swing in and try their pies personally.I’m giving this company one star for both customer service and shipping practices. I ordered a buttermilk pie from this company for shipping to Florida, via UPS. Well, the pie arrived destroyed as there was no writing on the shipping box stating “this side up” to the delivery company/driver. As such, my pie arrived with the box standing on its side, causing the filling to slide to one side and breaking the top crust. The filling also leaked onto the shipping box and left a sugary mess on our front foyer. I emailed and sent pictures to Marlene from the company….it went unanswered, I also left a message on their website specifically labeled for comments, that also went unanswered? Proper courtesy states that if a customer sends in a complaint with photo evidence that you at least have the decency to reply back, perhaps offer another pie or a reimbursement since the pie was not eatable upon arrival. But to simply ignore like it never happened makes me believe you don’t seem to care about customer satisfaction or service, therefore; you deserve 1 star, at least for folks living outside of Conroe, TX that can’t drive to your store and pick up a pie.
This place is a little hidden gem in Conroe discovered a few weeks back while my husband, kids, and I were driving around waiting to pick up our order from Jersey Mikes after church. We finally visited this morning for breakfast. We are foodies and really enjoyed everything. It has a cute, quaint, country atmosphere. We sat outside to eat our meal and took in the quietness of the morning, finishing just before the crowd came. All of the food that we ordered was delicious. The bacon was super thick, the eggs were very fluffy; even the cucumber water that I ordered was really good. The staff/customer service was awesome! We ordered cake balls and preserves on the way out and plan to go back for lunch, also buy a couple of pies for the holidays. It was a pleasure and we cannot wait to go back!
This place is so neat and fun!!! Their food has always been delicious, since moving to Conroe back in 2017 I have loved this spot!!!Its been awhile since I have been and visited today and its just as neat and fun as I remember. Food is delicious, they even offer Gluten Free bread for sandwiches & have gluten free pies as well!!! Awesome atmosphere, quiet enough for work meetings as well. Cant wait to go back. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious!!!
The cali Cobb salad comes with probably the best Caesar dressing I have ever had!! Hubs got a patty melt and the loaded potatoe soup was superb!! Looking forward to our next meal here! Clean place and great service might add!
Always a treat going to Pie In the Sky!!! 😄 Staff is always friendly & attentive! Delicious food. Got some pies to take home too!
