Pickerel Bay Cabins in La Ronge

five star all the way for the lodge, fishing and most of all John and Terri. Pickerel bay has some of the best early season walleye action i have ever seen and the world class lake trout fishing in hunter bay is unbelievable. Our group has gone for a weekly trip every year for many years and when we found pickerel bay cabins several years back we have not needed to go anywhere else. John and Terri have treated us like family. Hopefully, we can sit on the deck and have a drink soon bud. Sorry for your recent loss. They made us feel uncomfortable about not eating with them. And their grandson was always snooping in the cabins. They pushed us to use the lowest quality boats. And then the wouldn’t start back up sometimes. Motors are dated. Seemed like fuel filters were clogged.

Best fishing trip I ever had! The weather wasn’t great, but the fishing was amazing! Terri and John were awesome, They treat you like family and feed you well… we caught giant Walleye’s and lake trout and had some much fun! Soon after arriving at pickerel bay I was pretty excited, they have a lot of cabins and 2 generators and a main lodge where they are very friendly, and offer you coffee and pies and cereal. They fillet the fish for you and have an ice house which is so handy and an added bonus for sure. All of the staff is pretty friendly.Skipping ahead to fishing the lake. There was 4 people in my group of fisherman that went up there, 2 per boat. My other 2 friends went out and the prop literally fell off the motor, leaving them stranded in a very large lake. They paddled 2 hours to another outfitters who was kind enough to lend his own boat so they could make it back to pickerel bay. When they told the elder man about what happened, he accused them of hitting rocks or trying to go somewhere they shouldnt. He then was swearing and threatening to punch my friend in the face if he repeated that the prop fell off when in idle, (which of course it had). Also to consider all of us Have boating experience. He then threatened to send us back on a float plane, which we immediately agreed was fine after such accusations and treatment. They went and got the boat and found no damage to the motor and started to retract that it in fact was not our fault. It was a very awkward experience for me, and I would never want to go back. We went to other fly in fly out fishing trips in the past that were amazing. The older gent that screamed and threatened my friend never did apologize to him. Although his son did. I would avoid pickerel bay cabins personally.

My husband and I went with a few friends. We had a wonderful experience and were treated as if we were family. My husband hasnt stopped talking about out next visit to Pickerel Bay and we plan to take many more trips. Thank you for a fantastic vacation. :)

My wife and I just got back from this Awesome place! The meals were so good, the owners and staff were so great made us feel like we were at home! The cabins were so nice! Fishing was awesome my wife caught the biggest fish of her Life a huge 31 inch 23lb lake trout! See ya next year John and Terri! Thank you all of you Guys

I was looking to book these cabins for a wedding. The address in La Ronge is not where they are located. Apparently, they are about an hour boat ride from La Ronge. Great for fishing, but not when you are attending a wedding in La Ronge. Be careful. Please disregard he star rating as I have not been there, just want to caution people on location.
