Its Located between two districts of Nakapiripirit and Katakwi it has lots of Birds thou a few wild animals,Its a great place for bird watching and has a good topography , lake bisina and opera in view ...very wonderful.The challenge is no accomodation at the park.

Located in Tue north eastern part of Uganda, Pian-upe is the second largest reserve in Uganda and after Murchison falls national park. It comprises of various animals like hartebeest and zebras, ostriches and crested cranes. It also hides the napedet caves a place were the hostile nomads camped every after a looting.

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The chefs cooked food to a high standard. The scenery is breathtaking and the tents have a toilet, basin and shower with solar heated hot water. We had a great time.

Pian upe game reserve is unique in nature with rear wildlife species some of which are not found in other pritected areas. Like the Roan antelope, white eared job, cheetah and ostrich bird.

We were told the best time to view wildlife is January to March. Outside of that the grass is too tall. The scenery, however, is stunning. A great place for guided hikes and bush camping, including camping in a cave.
