Phreah Reach Traop Mountain - Tourist attraction in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia
I really enjoy the landscape view on the top of mount especially the various nice foods there
Very crowded during Pchum Ben and that may happen as well during other traditional holidays. I recommend to visit it not during these occasions.Though you can find plenty of local food and recipes. Mostly, fried and grilled chickens and fish, local cakes, fruits, palm fruits, ...
Nice historical tourist attraction.
I love travel to Oudong mountain because it beautiful , freshing , and especially its a historical site in Cambodia
Fresh air . Recommend to Try on the top of mountain at Sunset
Great place of historical significance which was once a royal palace in Udongk period. Hills with beautiful forestry surroundings, a place to rest and relax.
Good village food and setting but it could get really crowded on the weekends and holidays.
Amazing place many people love to visit here with alot of foods..
Cambodian heritage mountain history of Khmer King and Buddha stupa
The mountain itself has several structures, but it is really only the main pagoda that makes the trip worthwhile. It is a beautiful building, with great views over the countryside.
Phnom Udong is within Kandal province, approx 41 km from Phnom Penh. Take note of heavy traffic jam on weekend.
The place where every Buddhist knows and goes to. If youre not Buddhist, the mountain view is great and theres a place for you to relax beside the mountain.
Tourist spot, especially for locals to have a relaxed time with family. Rent resting place, buying foods from local people for lunch, go see pagoda on top of the mountain which keep a piece of buddha bone.
Historical and religious place: Good Place for tourists and buddhists to visit and take a rest (fo meditation)
The Sistine chapel of Cambodia!
The place was crowded when I last visited! Beautiful scenery and views looking from the top!
Oudong used to be the capital of Cambodia a few hundreds years ago. Lots of local people visit here for sightseeing and praying. On the stairway to hilltop there were many monkeys. The view from temple was great. There is a market nearby the entrance where foreigners can try some special local food.
One of the worships in Kandal provincial. You can find a lot of Khmer foods with a fresh view and trample.
Multi food for different favour
Affordable food n nice view
Nice and calm place with an awesome view. However it is extremely hot during the day time. I suggest you to visit either early morning or evening. Top of the hill is a religious place where you have to take off shoes and hats before enter. So wear appropriately.
Lots of steps to keep you fit. Worthwhile when you get to the top. Youll need an hour or so to get the most out this beautiful place. Plenty of pagodas scattered around the area!
Standing on top of the mountain of Udong was incredible. Udong is an ancient imperial city which was capital of Cambodia until 1866, when the capital became Phnom Penh. Its royal Palace and temples are located on the crest of a (smallmountain, and only 1h30 away from Phnom Penh. Guarded by playful monkeys, you can walk the staircases to the very top of the mountain. Once arrived, you are embraced by a dropdead beautiful skyline of the rural provinces of Cambodia.
Well prepare place to eat and relax with traditional food. You can buy many more street food and climb the mountain.
Awesome experience. Well worth the visit. It is beautiful and you can stop by so many other little places on the way before coming to this grand finale which is well worth it.
Nice View. Good place for relax. Yummy food but have to bargain price well for some kiosks!
Khmer Ancient Captial area(17th centurywhich is a great place for people to explore. In here you could spectate what you expected... awesome view , glorious landscape...
Good walk around. Plenty of street vendors by the main entrance. We got lost and went in through the back way but all good.
This tample complexes around 40km to north phnom penh. So you must rent motorbike, or rent tuktuk for one day. Please visit our Instagram @hai.cg to see more.
This is the mountain which whole Buddha bone, a lot of people are there during big event in Buddhism. But it also the attraction place for weekends as well! It not far from Phnom Penh!
Nice views of green fields, old pagodas all around from atop the Phreah Reafh Troup mointain in Oudong, the royal residence and Cambodias capital for more than 250 years until 1866. Buddhist Vihara partly destroyed by Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Around 50 kilometres from Phnom Penh. And around 300-400 steps from there will take you to the top.
Very big pagoda with a great view on cambodia country side. You can eat there but its quite expensive. Try the old school ice cream at the top !
Amazing white temple with golden doors on top of a hill with stunning all around views. There is a medium climb up the stairs to reach the top but its well worth it. Dont forget to visit the nearby Sontte Wan meditation center as well which is equally gorgeous.
One of the nicest Temples I have seen gorgeous details! Worth the drive. See all of Phnom Penh from the top! The Monkies on the way up are a bonus!
It was the site of the royal capital from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The mountain’s 2 mounds are connected by a ridge and dotted with stupas and shrines dedicated to former kings. Chedi Mouk Pruhm is the burial site of King Monivong. The ruins of Arthross Temple house a large golden Buddha. It good for studying history of old city of cambodia.
I find this to be a lovely day out, although usually more of a five hour round trip. This was about my 5th visit. Ive taken lots of friends there.I go to the Vipassana Centre and temple complex first. If you are at the right time you can visit the library and maybe chat to a nun. You might get to see the monks in their dinner hall. Then I head over to have a look at the exotic food in the market on the other side. Lastly I do the hill with Stupas from the left, less steep side first and come down the steep part last. Lovely views and a nice mix of nature with lots of flowers, butterflys and a few rascally monkeys.
It’s a historical place as well as a former palace during 17th century before the capital city was moved to Phnom Penh. It’s where a piece of Buddha’s bone stored as well. There are several other stupas belong to former kings and their members who died there. When you reach the top of this mountain you will see them.Overall, it’s a relaxing place for you to learn history, enjoy the local foods around the mountain and explore the local lives. Behind that mountain there is big monastery where hundred monks and nuns stay there to practice Buddhist precepts and meditation. In that monastery they also have a short course for visitors including foreigners to practice Vipassana (meditationfor a week course or 10 days long. It’s worth to spend your weekend there explore more. :)
A great place to break away from the everyday life of Phnom Penh. One hour driving from city centrr. If you are in Phnom Penh passing through for a few days and you have no idea what else to see in the city, check it out. Historical place, available typical Khmer food. Go up the stairs, the path leads to see all the most important temples at one passage, a loop from the parking lot. A lot of young Khmer people which would like to be your personel guide for small fee. Oudong was Cambodia’s Old Capital. In 3-4 hours you will get to know this place and check all the most important spots.
It is a nice temple complex. Mostly newer pagodas and temples. Entrance fee is 1 USD for foreigners, free for Cambodian. There are plenty of little restaurants with outdoor seating. The view over the area is amazing. Its best to take a Moto to be able to explore on your own as the complex is quite large. Great day trip with the Moto from Phnom Penh. About 60 minutes drive.
Nice view, nice temple. Have a small flock of monkey and a small local market at the foot of the slope. You have to "climb" about 300 stairs to see the temple on the top. Try it...
Historical sites of Cambodia, natural resort. The place cannot missed when hangout or picnic.
This is more than a place to spend your all day long and enjoy a variety of Khmer food and local cakes. To the west, you can see a range of connected rice fields and to the east you can see a lake view and river.
Preah Reach Traop Mountain (Oudongis a town in Cambodia, at the base of Phnom Udong Mountain, northwest of Phnom Penh.
It is not far from Phnom Penh and it is a place where we can relax, affordable price (Foodand especially we can climb to the top of the Reach Troap Mountain to see nice view and Temple
A bit tire to claim the mountain but enjoy the view. There are several location in the mountain line and you can take a look at each place. Not much different from one to another just as you can see in the picture. The walkway was not so good and not so clean.
Quite the hike up the stairs. Be prepared with water and sunscreen. The view at the top is WELL worth the stairs though. All the way around the newest stupa you can see for miles and miles. The other stupas are beautiful too. Take your time walking around them looking at all the details. One thing to note is that there are a lot of people trying to sell offerings for Buddha. Also there are a lot of teenagers and children looking to help give you a tour for some money. You shouldnt take advantage of this as it encourages them to stay out of school. Arrange a guide ahead of time if possible.
Traditional food with nice view at historical place "Phnom Presh Reach trob" or we can call "Phnom Ou Dong"
40km that take more than 1hr hectic drive from Phnom Penh, which ended with further 20min walk up to the hill. Hill view nice, probably one of closest hill from Phnom Penh. Nothing to amaze
Climbing the mountain to see the beautiful landscape, pray to Buddha, breath of the fresh air. Yeah, its Oudong, the best place to escape from the stressful city.
Its really amazing place to visit, clear air, blue sky, innocent people!
