Phonsawan Restaurant - Thai restaurant in Den Haag, Netherlands
Delicious authentic Thai food. Not cheap but good quality
We had a great dinner with 3 persons and we loved the tasty food there. Coming back soon !
Very good service and good food. They just need to change the restaurant entrance.
Doesnt feel like a real Thai restaurant. Waited nearly two hours before some mixed starters were served (after restaurant claimed they couldnt serve our group from the menu), Heineken from the menu substituted with some cheap alternative and overall mediocre food.
A nice Thai restaurant. Prices are ok and the service is service minded.
this place used to be sooo good. But the last two times I went there, I noticed their standards have slipped. Their Kai Phad krapow used to have the most beautiful and spicy flavors (chili and basil), but the last couple of times it was bland. Red curry normally was also aromatic and flavorful, a delicate and beautiful preparation. Now, I see raw curry paste in the dish, harsh and hastily cooked. What a shame, and it’s not cheap either. I won’t visit again.
The phad thai was too sweet in my opinion. Now that I read other reviews I see other dishes are better received. Maybe order something different then Phad Thai if you go here....
We had an amazing dinner in this Thai restaurant. We ordered a soup, a curry, a chicken dish and another vegetarian dish with tofu. All the main dishes took a good amount of time to be cooked, which means that everything was fresh and cooked at the moment and not simply reheated. Indeed, the kitchen was quite big and there were at least 4 people working there. All the dishes were super tasty and fresh and we had a good amount of rice per person. I had the coconut chicken curry and it was absolutely delicious. I tried other Thai places in Den Haag but this was simply the best. The prices might be slightly more expensive than other Thai places, but its totally worth it.On top of that, the menu clearly indicates which allergens are present in every dish. This was great because I was having dinner with a celiac person that had to eat gluten free food. Luckily, there were a lot of dishes without gluten so that was not a problem. The whole menu was actually very large, with a lot of choice for both the main dishes and the starters.Lastly, we also had a good experience with the waiters and owner. We were charged incorrectly for a bottle of wine we never had but we only noticed it the next day. We went back to the restaurant to complain and the owner recognized the error and was very kind with us. He reimbursed us the whole value of the bottle. We will definitely go back!
I’ve had better Thai but it’s not bad for takeout
Ordered via deliveroo, this the worst vegetarian pad thaï I have eaten so far… It is overly sweet, there was no veggies, the eggs was non existent and the noodles were sticking with each other… The picture speaks for itself…
Excellent Thai in The Hague city center! Our favorite for sure. Loving it!
Can recommend the massaman curry - heavier on the coconut milk side and more creamy than Id use to get in thailand but delicious nonetheless :)
Quality Thai food. Pretty impressed with the standards. Pricey but worth it, do make sure you make reservations as the place is pretty small
Perfect food! Wow, it was delicious. And that also during Covid 19. Professional management of the hygiene measures (disinfectant of hands available, 1.5 meters apart seating, 2 different doors for entrance/departure). Will definitely go again!
Great place with very friendly staff. Main (noodleswas awesome, just as the dessert. Portions are good and the price is reasonable.Place may be bit too tight at some places, but very positive!
Nice place. Had excelent fish dish.
Communication is not so good, we order some extra food after order the main dishes, but they didnt serve, instead they packed it to take away
Lovely food. Not a large restaurant, so fills up quickly. Large menu you can choose from. Portions are good and everything is flavourful. Definitely recommended.
Great food, but service slow. Was a very busy night, too few personnel to handle the amount of customers. But, food was geat!
food was delicious, we came as a group and had a feast - literally. it does get quite warm inside and we were really sweating so they should probably look into that. apart from that, the service was good and the food was great tasting and good value for money.
I really love that place. Come here a lot. Good location in the center of the Hague. The interior is nicely done. Food is great and usually comes fast. The only downside is that it is quite busy and the staff is not always up to specs.
Fabulous thai restaurant and friendly people... love it
Great selection of menu and friendly service too
The food is absolutely stunning and delicious! Enough space for medium sized parties.Sometimes it is a bit difficult to get the attention of the waiters, but they are very friendly.
Really good high quality food. The place looks more expensive than it is since its very elegant. So nice atmosphere, good food and giod prices!
Good food you can get and also there are some vegan options too
We chose one of the menus, which was great - the first dish was very tasty with all kinds of small bites. The main course was not as original as the first, but great flavours (chicken cashew and a curry). Staff was very friendly. Will certainly go here again!
Without doubt the best Thai in The Hague. We have tried all, but none as good as Phonsawan.Usually I go for chicken-green curry, my husband beef. Absolutely delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked.Highly recommended!
This Thai restaurant is great. The food is amazing and the staff hospitality is great. Location is superb and for those who come by car, there is a Q park right next to it. The only minor down side is the price, but in my experience most Thai restaurants are more expensive than any average restaurant. Roughly €20 for a prawns phad thai.TLDR; if you want to taste really good Thai food and willing to pay the extra bucks. Try it.
Food is good. Service is slow as there are few staff but busy. Price range is moderate to high. 3 chilis are not actually very spicy.
Authentic Thai Delicacy, wide choices of food in the menu with their specials like deer meat etc. The service is good, toilets smell really good & are truly neat! The quantity is sufficient. I went here thrice during my stay. They also have vegan options. I think this probably is one of the best Thai around.
Ordered vegetable soup which had a piece of chicken in it. Usually their meals are yum, but this is not acceptable! Wont order again!
It is a nice place, quite cozy. The staff is friendly and helping fast and they act with a smile. The menu is huge, you have a lot of choices. The food is good: the soup was very good, subtle tastes combined, but the beef was not very tender and the sauce a little simple. The white rice (a lot!was outstanding!!What really annoyed me, was the fact that all the other tables got some kroepoek and sauce as an appetizer, but I didnt got one. Was this because I was dining alone? This costs one start substraction. The crowd in the restaurant was no too old, an average 35-40 and from the higher social class in the Netherlands. All where Dutch. The toilets are clean, the place itself too.It is not very cheap. The portions are not very big, but you wont be hungry if you finish all the rice.It is just a normal nice restaurant, with serving me not in the best way possible.
The food was very good. The service wasnt fast, although they were constantly running and came across as stressed.
Super yummii Thai food, everything you order is great and you should definitely save a little room for dessert ;)
A very good Thai restaurant in the centre of The Hague. Starters were OK, highlight was the main course. Filet of beef in spicy green curry sauce was delicious. Good portions. Good service but pretty expensive. It is not a huge place, so reservation is needed.
Nice food, moderate pricesToo small space indoors, only 4 tables outdoors
Nice little Thai restaurant in the centre of The Hague. Friendly waiters and reasonably priced.
Expensive for the Thai cuisine. But what you get is more than worth the money. Curries are extremely flavorful. Best Thai food in the Netherlands
The young boy waiter is very cute. His smile is warm! The dish is absolutely delicious! Yummy yummy!!!
The best Thai food in the area. Cosy restaurant, very friendly staff and not too expensive.
Excellent food and authentic taste. As good or better than what you would get in Thailand! One of the best in Holland for sure. Huge menu choice. Thai beer available on the comprehensive drinks menu.
Food is very tasty, presentation on point
Really good Authentic Thai food. One of the best in The Hague
Really delicious food and kind service, even a bit later in the evening. Place looks minimalistic and quite classy.
Fresh and delicious Thai food. They have a bunch of vegetarian options to choose from.
The claimed Thai cuisine is a joke. Not the Thai cooking I ever tried. BTW only the wine lives up to my expectation.
Not the cheapest food you can get in Den Haag but they used good ingredients and quite a lot of food! Service was a bit slow as they literally only had 2 waiters there. Reservation is recommended for weekends. Im definitely going back there soon!
Very good food, small restaurant with friendly service. Main dishes are around 17 EUR.
It is a very small place, but incredible good food. Many choice of thai cuisine. It is a good place to eat.
