Phoenix Park in Leixlip

Lots to see. Shame about the busy road that runs all the way through it and nullifies whatever tranquility might otherwise be generated. Many of the informational plaques are broken/unreadable. The assassination (Invinciblesmarker is broken. The fort was shut for some unknown reason.

Visited the Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo on Friday night last. While it was crowded and at times very congested my children loved it. The food and toilet situation caused long Qs so if going with small people make sure loads of snacks, warm.clothes and hot drinks.

One of the largest enclosed public parks in any capital city in Europe. Free entry. Most surprising me is that you may have chance to see the deer family.

It’s really beautiful to visit and walk about.Good for cycling.Would recommend bringing a picnic and a blanket and making a afternoon of it

Dublin is a beautiful city, but a moment of peace and quiet in Phoenix Parc is good for you. It is unusual to have such a large and beautiful park in a city. You completely forget that you are in Dublin. The park is well maintained and has some nice corners. If you are lucky you get to see the deer.It is recommended to rent a bike at the park entrance to see as much of the park as possible.

A beautiful way to spend a few hours. There is so much to see and it is a gorgeous park! It was great for an afternoon stroll on our first day in Dublin. So much greenery and history all in one.

Going to Dublin and being lucky 🍀 is:✔️Coinciding with a heat wave, which allowed clear skies and bright sunshine.✔️ Running into the deer in Phoenix Park and being able to interact with them.✔️ Being able to take photos at the Papal Cross without tourists around. Built in 1979 for the visit of John Paul II where he officiated mass in the open air to approximately one million people.I was lucky and the place was magical. Come to visit too 😊

A very big beautiful park! It has a lot of space to explore, both by feet or by bicycle. Also, if you search hard enough, you might find wild deer! Before they were more sociable but now they got shy. Anyways, they would usually be seen from the hill (where the cross is ator if you go a little deeper into the park.

Pheonix park is a magical place. Please be considerate when going to see the deer. Dont need feed them food which is not part of their diet

Wonderful and vast park, a must see if you are in Dublin. Take a nice walk and you may find the deer and get a close view of them as well. 😊

Nice place to hang out in the evening time. No activities but you can have some photos with the deers.. Good for a evening walk.. There is a lake somewhere in the park.

Nice park but it’s so big it’s hard to enjoy it properly if you don’t have a car. You can rent a bike nearby or with the app like bleeper and do a ride (45min to go south to north and back).

Best park!!!! Beautiful flowers and trees best place for running. And its free as well so its a good park to visit with family .

Lots of open, green spaces with children play areas, walkways, cycling tracks, and deers and ducks around. A nice place to relax and enjoy with family.

Breath of Fresh Air, has most Amenities. Relaxing place for a walk, run and site seeing. Dublin Zoo in there, American Embassy Residential place & Presidents Villa, has the Phoenix Cafe (everything tastywith the Wallade Garden right near by and another Eatery near the Zoo, Enough Parking Space. Honestly, quite calming being around all that nature and the trees are just majestic 👌...Missing Public Loos tho 😖🤷‍♀️

Beautiful grounds sports fields of all types rugby cricket football horse racing and zoo and beautiful gardens it would of been a 5 star if all the animals had been on view

One of the best parks i have ever visited. Its huge so remember to rent a bike at the entrance or download bleeper for cheep renting. If you want to see the deer go from the cricket field in direction to the papal cross in the mornings.

This park is amazing! Very beautiful, big, full of wonderful views and with servants on the loose! I really enjoy coming here for a walk. If you can, come with water and a snack so you can sit and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful park with many little and big friendly animals. The park is huge so make sure to take the necessary time to explore. You will find multiple animals in the park, including lovely deer. Sometimes it takes a while to find them, so be prepared to stroll around for a bit before you spot them all.The park also has multiple monuments and buildings, nothing extremely impressive but still worth to pass them by on your route. Definitely also recommend to picnic here - which is allowed.Have loads of fun!

When youre a tourist you have to go to the Phoenix park! It feels like youre in nature. You can also rent bikes for a pleasant price and explore the park like that. But it is only possible to ride the bikes on the left side of the park, on the right side it is forbidden to ride with bikes.

Beautiful Park. Its the biggest enclosed city park in Europe. Home to the Zoo and of course the President of Irelands residence. 🇮🇪 It has 600 roaming deer. So many sports fields and clubs. Plenty of parking inside.

You can see “Bambi” at this park! **Be respectful with all animals.**Very nice place for families and tourists.You can rent a bike or just walk (be prepared to walk a lot).

Absolutely outstanding more than we expected, rented electric bikes for a really good deal at 12 E a hour saw the whole park presidential house, American embassy residence the whole lot and we still had time to spare. I highly encourage anyone thinking of renting 1 hour is more than enough time

Beautiful place where you can walk and pic nic. You can find where to take a coffee and eat some snacks. The garden close at 4pm. The deers are cute and you can find a lot of them

Great park! It’s one of the biggest in Europe and you can definitely have a whole day here no problem. There’s something for everyone here, cricket club, zoo, cafes, playgrounds and it’s also a great picnic sport for families with kids and families with dogs alike. Definitely worth a visit

One of the largest public parks in Europe. Barely finished quarter of it. Found the gazelle after I got into the car after the soccer playground. Hope I can go there again ❤️

The best thing is. The name says it all ❤️. An amazing place for literally everything. 7 square km spead allows you to literally explore the whole park , play sports , run And do other physical activities and also pinic spot and you can visit the zoo as well . You can also have some beautiful views of the wicklow mountains. The more amazing part would be there are deers spread all over the park u can some good time seeing them and sometimes feeding them too and this also the home for Ireland oldest cricket club. Beautiful park but huge! Only saw a small portion. You could rent bikes which we should have done. People were walking, biking and picnicking. It was lovely.

The Phoenix Park is one of the largest enclosed public parks in any capital city in Europe. It was originally formed as a royal hunting Park in the 1660s and opened to the public in 1747. A large herd of fallow deer still remain to this day. The Park is also home to the Zoological Gardens, Áras an Uachtaráin, and Victorian flower gardens. The Phoenix Park is only a mile and a half from O’Connell Street. Both passive and active recreational pursuits may be viewed or pursued such as walking, running, polo, cricket, hurling, and many more. The Glen Pond is set in very scenic surrounds in the Furry Glen. There are many walks and cycle trails available to the public. Please note that BBQs are not permitted in the Phoenix Park. Great park if it wasnt for all the cars parked everywhere and blatantly ignoring the speed limits, keep a close eye on your kids on even what looks like a quiet road. But that aside the park for all in it is amazing and always easy to find the deer and have a chat with them.

Phoenix Park is Dublins largest public park, and its easy to see why. The park is home to a herd of wild deer, as well as birds and squirrels. Its the perfect place for a peaceful walk or a picnic with friends.

Fabulous park, with stunning old trees and plenty of wildlife and biodiversity. Ideal for walking, jogging, cycling or enjoying a wonderful picnic with friends or family. Also, there is the Dublin Zoo and Farmleigh House surrounded by beautiful gardens and a fantastic pond.

We went out here because it was close to the place weve recently moved. Then, we found out that it is the biggest park in Europe. I can confirm it is, because we didnt had the chance to finish our relaxing walk in one day. Rain was around the corner and started shortly after we arrived.I saw a clear lake in a valley with a lot of different water birds, like ducks, swans... The lake was surrounded by old trees and has a lot of paths which leads you to a field and you can then see the Wellington monument.

Fantastic park, its absolutely stunning. Very well maintained. Lovely place for a walk at any time of the year. Parking can be tricky at times, but theres plenty available at off-peak times. Dublin, youre beautiful.

The park is huge and just beautiful. Seeing the dears was the obvious highlight. There were so many animals everyone! It was an increadible experience. I was sadden to see that some tourists dont seem to respect basic rules (dont throw trash on the ground, dont feed the animals, and keep a safe distance from them). Really, its not that hard.

Beautiful park. Great for a day out with the family. Lots of space!Tip: If youre looking for the famous deer try the field in front of the Papal Cross. You may have to walk a bit though as these are wild animals and dont usually stay where there are lots of people.Also if youre lucky to see them, please respect their space. Enjoy them from a far or through your camera lens. Dont go too close or feed them. Stay safe!

You should walk until you drop. If you drop at any moment, youll find yourself on the grass, surrounded by beautiful scenery :))It’s a convenient escape to nature right in the city. Spotting the fallow deer is an added bonus!

Fantastic day out with the kids, helped by great weather. Free parking and lots of little snack and drinks facilities dotted around the place help to complement the dining area for when you need a longer break. The Chicken Hut was delicious and good value, one kids meal would have done both our kids😊 hopefully we will be back soon👍

The park is very big. Deer roam freely, approaching people without fear. There is a zoo in the park.

Beautiful and peaceful park to visit. So many colourful flowers are blooming in spring. Dont forget to look out for the antelope.

Stunning Parkland in the middle of Dublin City. From wide ranging trail runs, cycle paths, open expanses of greenery as well as roaming deer and the wonderful Dublin zoo, this has to be one of the best parks in Europe.

Phoenix Park is a massive urban park with a herd of deer. It is a great place for a walk. It would be even better if access by public transport was improved so the roads were quieter

Great and very big park with many landscapes. It is six times bigger than Hyde Park of London. It has a huge zoo inside the park.

Very pretty and large park. It has a couple of herds of deer there. You can get very close to observe them.

Its a beautiful green and huge area. You can meet the deers and walk. Many squirrels are running around.

We went to Dublin Zoo Wed 05.01.22 and after went through Phoenix Park on the way back to Heuston train station. Theres a playground and nice walks. Some of the hills are steep if mobility is an issue. Wrap up well! Also didnt see any toilets near the playground so be mindful of that. Only place nearby I saw with toilets was the tea room cafe opposite Dublin Zoo, they are located at the back.

It is just basically a long stretch of park with a road between the two sides. Apart from a playground and the zoo, there is really nothing to the park. I wished there were mazes, ponds, or something to explore. I like the herd of deer but thats pretty much it.

The biggest park in Europe! Amazing place to walk, run, visit the zoo or do a tour of the presidents house (when it opens). You can see deer wondering around. There is a cafe where you can grab a bite and something to drink.

Great experience we went with our family and grandkids. The Wild/World lights was great lots to see from all over the world with a nice environment, places to eat and drink. Great one way system and helpful staff. Recommend a visit and help support the our National Zoo.

Huge huge park. With parking on Chesterfield Avenue stopped, everyone is being pushed into the zoo parking and sports grounds so parking isn’t easy. The deer were on form - their silence and quiet watching amazes me.
