Pho Long Restaurant - South City - Vietnamese restaurant in Saint-Louis, Mauritania
Excellent pho. Try the p12. Great spring rolls. Excited for the exterior facelift. Plenty of local beers on tap and imported beers. Just as good at home too! Support these folks! It’s an excellent restaurant. Your best pho on grand!
The food at Pho Long is delicious! Dont pass this place by. As soon as you walk in, you are met with a vibrant and lively restaurant with friendly staff and outstanding Vietnamese cuisine! They have a wide selection of both local beverages and imported beers. The menu includes a variety of Pho, dry noodles, rice dishes, and vegetarian options. A tremendous Vietnamese restaurant located on Grand Ave. We will be back to try the other Vietnamese options found on the menu!
I really loved this place. I wasn’t sure cause of some of the reviews but my friend and I enjoyed it. The food was delicious and service was great.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was made fresh to order and was excellent!
Excellent pho! I had the dish with all types of meat and it was delicious, I especially liked the Vietnamese meatballs. Service was great, beer was ice cold and the place is very cute. Highly recommended!
Great food and awesome owner and staff! The vibe is cool. Has a lot of local beers on tap and also a wide selection of other drinks. Absolutely will go back again!
Its unassuming place on the outside but so cute inside! They are very warm and friendly there and the food is outstanding. Full bar with great beers on draft.
Chicken dumplings were amazing! However, brisket pho is why I ding 2 stars, honestly the fattiest brisket ever had (and I’d asked for leanand the broth just tasted like pasta water, zero flavor at all. Another dinged star for the terrible iced coffee :/
One of the best vietnamese places with fair/cheap prices, excellent portions, and a great/aesthetic ambience. I am a bit picky with my pho, so the broth is a little bland for those who are pho connoisseurs. However, the meat and noodles are given in good portions and will fill you up. For those who eat a lot, you must ask for extra noodles - its totally worth the extra $3. The thai tea is decent and comes in a cool mason jar - its aesthetic but not too worth in my opinion. Overall, great place to visit and be a regular at for some good pho!
Best pho soupIn town !!! Customer service is incredible people make you feel special
Can’t say much about the food as we were never able to order. While the hostess was ok the server must have a color issue. She was on top of her “white” tables but paid no mind to our “black” table. She walked past us multiple times after we were seated, never coming to take our drink order or anything. The final straw was when she waited on a table that was seated WELL after us, she came to that white table promptly. We left after that and went to another restaurant. The waitress saw us walk in, saw us be seated, and walked past us multiple times. There are no excuses. In response to the owners response;1: this happened Saturday 9/17 you were open.2: if whoever seated us was suppose to wait on us that makes it even worse because she seated us and never came. But I know that is a lie because she seated people after us and a waiter IMMEDIATELY came to their table to help them. (We were seated in the same small section a table away)3. You being a minority doesn’t mean you can’t be prejudice towards black people. But I wasn’t speaking on your restaurant as a whole, just about the people you decided to employ.4. I most definitely have the right restaurant how many pho long on grand by slu are there? You trying to discredit my experience in your restaurant instead of addressing the issue shows your character. Me deciding to leave the review on a Monday instead of ruining the rest of my weekend with this nonsense means absolutely nothing. We left went to a different restaurant (little Saigon cafeenjoyed the rest of our evening.
I had been going to the location on olive for years. Never a bad experience. Went here last night and service was god awful slow. Took like 10 minutes to get a drink and almost 30min for our spring rolls... The food was good, service was awful. Whole waiting for the bill, there was a roach crawling on the glass case by the bar that caught my attention quickly. I was more than ready to leave at this point and freaked out.
Terrible service. Food is ok, but not coming back. Restaurant was was at 30% capacity, took a very long time to get just Pho soup. Ordered avocado smoothly which never came. No wonder the waiter (Shardid not care as she included her tip in the bill- did not even apologize. Dont think I will be back.
The multitude of flies that greeted us upon our arrival should have been enough to warn us away. We decided to take a chance and we will never return. The soft drinks had no carbonation, and the sauces were sour and devoid of flavor. Ive eaten Pho all over the world and this isnt it. Clean up your act and serve food that resembles the picture on your menu. How do you run out of rice ?
The food is good but service is horrible, yet the waitress does not try to give the best experience. She charges her tip in the check already. No effort at all. Very slow and forgets everything. Just want the owner to see this. The servers name was shar.
Nicely decorated place. The owner and staff were courteous. The eggrolls were decent, the pho (P9has room for improvement (broth could be refined and the noodles cooked a bit more), the portion is generous. I was asking for culantro and cilantro was provided instead. I got my Vietnamese food craving fixed anyway. Wed try this place again when were back in town.
What an awesome Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to in town. I ordered spring rolls and special pho and let me tell you….super delicious and spectacular with the flavoring! The spring rolls had thick shrimp and pork slices compared to other places I’ve been to. The hoisin dipping sauce just miss some peanut flavor in it but it’s still good. Moving on to the pho…OMG, I don’t have any words to describe. The bowl is huge and it is filled with good meats and I’m not talking about those thin slices of beef and small chunks of meatballs. The meats were big slices and big meatballs. Alongside we’re beansprouts and mints and it would be better is they give out more mint leaves. Overall, this place is amazing! Best Vietnamese restaurant from a Vietnamese girl. Highly Recommended
A great Vietnamese option on South Grand. The Oxtail Pho was something truly unique that Ive never had anywhere else. I look forward to returning and trying more from the menu.
Fresh ingredients made my dish appetizing. The waitress was ver helpful with menu item selection. Went with the dry noodle dish, but want to try the pho when it is cooler. Definitely will be returning.
Great food. Super, SUPER understaffed. Feel bad for the 2 front staff always working an entire floor.
The food would have been pretty good if only our side items would have came out at the same time. We ordered Pho, they gave a spoons but no chopsticks or forks to eat it with. They forgot part of our drinks. We asked for steamed bean sprouts but they said the steamer was already put away. We asked if they could just cook it with the broth and got nothing. What’s worse was that, it was bad enough that we didn’t get our sides/condiments that goes with the Pho when it was already out for awhile. When we asked the waitress for it, she left for awhile and while walking back to our table; she had to stop by another table to chat a bit.
Phenomenal meal and service. Great vietnamese coffee and the pho is excellent!
Delicious. Absolutely phenomenal. The way food is supposed to taste. Atmosphere has a friendly family feel. My only suggestion (why I rated 4 starswas that the tea was basic. If y’all had less basic and more authentic tea the experience would have been 5 stars. Thank you for blessing my body with a fresh and delicious meal. Will be back.
The service and food was spectacular. From the moment you walk in, you cant help but to notice the beautiful decor. I would say I prefer real chopsticks as opposed to the wooden disposable chopsticks. We didnt care for the tea as they use basic Liptop tea from the store. Overall, everything was good.
Paasing by St. Louis & looking for Pho. Surprisingly one of the best Pho I ever eat. Friendly, clean and delicious food.
Food was good. Spring roll has too much lettuce. It’s also slow for some reason. Overall reasonable for what you pay for
Happy Hour every weekday 5-7!!!A great spot for reasonable price and good portions.
The "Pho Suon Rong" is a must try. Travelling across country to different pho places and this is one of the, if not the best, pho places Ive had! Looking forward to coming back!
Really good Pho! Fried Egg rolls and crispy chicken are also superb 👌🏾!
Great staff . Great food. The dry noodles are awesome. PHO is one of the best. Comfortable dining
Not as good as everyone say the place was. Pho was tasteless and noodle was under cook. Order thai tea and was water down. My nephew had the porkchop and rice and didn’t taste good either. Had a weird sour taste to it. Server charge and add-on tips on our bills. Server was not very attentive and we have to keep asking for ice for our waters then finally got ice but for one glass only when there were 10 of us🤦🏻♀️
Pho Long Grand is an excellent place to go to...WHY, you may ask? Here are the reasons why :1Yummy and affordable food to choose from. My favorites include : P4: Beef Pho, R1: Pork Chop Rice Meal, R2: Beef Steak Rice Meal; R5: Beef slices Rice Meal, Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls, Durian Shake; Im gonna try the others next time2Excellent service, Shar / server is the BEST! She tells you what you need to know with every food that they serve3Large range of beverage (water, soda, and, adult drinks / wine/ beer - if you like those...I dont drink so I dont have any idea if their selection of drinks are good)4Close to Tower Grove, Missouri Botanical Gardens, Forest Park, Saint Louis University, Washington University, the Arch, and, so many famous areas.5Accessible parkingI usually get here when its not so busy during the daytime, so I had this wonderful review.Have fun! Hope you enjoy your next meal ;)
Great food, great atmosphere and staff. Very friendly and love to look at the beautiful bar and other wood work . The aroma walking in will make your stomach growl and mouth water decent prices loved it. Would definitely recommend it.
It was spectacular! The food and service was amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful for our first time having pho. Would highly recommend, cant wait to go back.
The U City location has better tasting food. For starters, you get smaller bowls so less broth (although the bowls did look cool). The pho broth itself was kind of bland, the chicken was dry and chunky, they didnt have limes so provided lemons instead (which is an entirely different taste when added), and there was no basil. Honestly I only ever get the pho so I have no idea how the rest of the menu compares to the the other location but for me I doubt Ill ever go back to this one. The location looks a lot more steam lined and swanky but I care about the taste of my food more than I care about the mood lighting. The taste left me wanting and for the first time I did not finish my pho.
This little gem has amazing Pho. One of the few places I have found in STL that not only has tendon but you can add oxtail to the beef combo. Their broth is outstanding. Service is friendly and prompt. Restaurant is super clean. Love the fact they serve their water from glass containers. My only complaint is they serve lemon instead of lime with their Pho. Otherwise this is our go to for Pho is STL. Highly recommend them.
Very delicious pho, the flavor is amazing, very well cooked and the customer services is top! Decoration and music makes the environment so relaxing, so it’s perfect for a date or spend a good time with friends
So good! We got started off with the spring rolls which was SO very tasty and they were lot bigger than expected lol, especially just as a starter/appetizer. I ordered a Pho dac biet (the specialand my friend ordered the chicken rice noodle soup. Came out steamy hot, broth flavor was on point, sriracha and hoisin sauce available to add however much you desire, cilantro/bean sprouts/jalapeños/lemon also available with the soup. Portions were large (main course and the appetizer). We also had the Vietnamese drip coffee, which was also delicious. Service from staff was excellent (not overbearing, but also checked in every once in a while), food came out in a timely manner— and steamy hot/fresh, and the location is good with lots of (street)parking options. Will definitely be back again!
This place was hands down one of the best pho places we have eaten at. We had the veg spring rolls, fried chicken dumplings, and shrimp with white rice. Beats eating fast food. Don’t forget to order the chai iced tea
Great place, with unique decor inside. Best Pho in in the Midwest. The only one that serves Pho Suong Rong. It has beef rib and it is huge and super delicious. Owner lady is most of the time there helping out other employees and keeping an eye on things, so every time I dine there food and service is great!
This place is amazing I love their pho noodles and they give you large portions for a really good price. I normally get this place for delivery and I have only eaten inside the restaurant twice but never had a complaint. The servers always check up on you to make sure everything is okay. Youre going to spend about 12 to 15 bucks per person but it is very worth it for the amount of food that you get.
Delicious pho with a flavorful broth. Also never had a brisket rice platter as good as this
One of my favorite Vietnamese food places. I like this one because they are family owned and have home cooking touch to their food. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Prices are very competitive as well. I highly recommend Pho Long to all my friends. Try it and you will see how good the food is for yourself.
Nice atmosphere, staff is always friendly, food is always fresh. I feel comfortable eating here alone. I always get the veggie pho with tofu and the veggie spring rolls; it has tofu as well !!!!!
Delicious!!! And, honestly, too much food. They need a spicy beef Pho option. Add this to your list. Good parking behind the restaurant.
My spouse and I visited for the first time and enjoyed it. The environment was comforting and the food was a decent price for such a great taste. I asked if the cook could grill my meat selections for my noodles a bit prior to placing them in the noodles and they were more than accommodating. I LOVED the food, ESPECIALLY the chicken dumplings!!! I also enjoyed the television displaying shows of that cuisine. It made the experience that much more cultural. We noticed there was confusion about whether we could purchase alcoholic beverages by shot or bottle. We were told either or but was informed it was actually by the bottle. The waiter seemed fairly new and was very polite despite. I have recommended to many friends and will be going back very soon!
Great place to eat!! Service was quick and polite, clean building, and the style was like a modern rustic vibe. Recommend to everyone!
This place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff very friendly and the food was fantastic!! PHO was off the charts and perfect during the GIA snowstorm! Highly recommend this place. I promise you wont be disappointed! P8 was my menu choice and the A1 appetizer.
Stopped in with a party of four, they had two at the bar and two other tables when we arrived.Service was lack luster but I dont go to a pho spot for service however it shouldnt of took one hour and forty five minutes in the joint for 4 bowls and some apps.Apparently the couple at the bar ordered to go for 12-15 but still. (I counted the to go boxes)Bypass the wings they are more like Sysco low end chicken wings and small.Egg rolls and spring rolls were good but if your charging 8.75 for a big bowl of pho (good price), wings shouldnt be 6.00 or 2 egg rolls / spring rolls 5.00.Rice platters seemed over priced. The server kept apologizing saying she was the only one there and when the party next to us asked what was good on the menu she said she didnt know she wasnt Vietnamese. She was nice but needs more training and should know the menu.Im thinking the party to go got all the broth as our pho broth was very salty and dark, possibly a pre mix to make more in a rush.Meatballs in the pho were 🔥It satisfied our craving but we will try some other spots in the area and maybe their other location. To this Pho Long we say So Long!
I would post pics if we hadn’t dug in immediately! The egg rolls and chicken dumplings were amazing. My beef pho was savory and perfect. Get the chicken noodle soup if you love garlic. Really cute interior, great service, such a great addition to South Grand!
