Pho Leicester - Vietnamese restaurant in Tan An, Vietnam
Lovely spicy 🥵 beef curry but you may need a knife and folk 🍴 to finish it off.
The food wasn’t great and we waited an hour to receive even our starter, when we informed the staff to suggest we had waited a long time and were dissatisfied with our food they didn’t seem to care. Probably won’t go back.
The staffs are very friendly. Service is very slow. But I understand it was a weekend & they were low on staffs.Food is really good. I loved the summer rolls & the chicken soups.
The place looks very good, the food is delicious, I ordered noodles and I loved them. I would say the service might be better, but it wasnt terrible!
Had lunch today 25th August, our server was Emma, her customer service was excellent, she went over and above to see that our visit was pleasurable, Emma went into the kitchen and made me fresh prawn crackers because the one in kitchen had been cooked in contaminated oil she knew that my being celiac would be dangerous to me, she was a absolute star, I would highly recommend Pho to any one who has never tried Vietnamese street, everything we had was very fresh and delicious, also excellent for people like myself who is celiac..
Probably the best Pho in town. I absolutely love the Pho they serve (original). I would definitely recommend the vegetarian spring rolls with the Peanut sauce.
We visited today (not for the first time! And were served by a young lady by the name of Emma, what a star she was!! we ordered starters, mains and add prawn crackers at the end, she asked if we had any allergies, yes a coeliac.... ahhh the prawn crackers were cooked in contaminated oil, ok we said, let me see if I can sort something for you, upon return with crackers shed cooked herself in fresh oil!!! Above and beyond... fabulous!!All our dishes were fresh and really tasty with the excellent service continue throughout, a place that all coeliacs should visit with only 2 items they cant have.
We went to eat as a couple today (we have been so many times in the last yearand I have to say the experience is well deserving of a 5 star.We showed our student discount first because our phone was dying to which Ellis, the assistant manager who served us went to fetch us his own charger and moved us to a table with a plug. His overall service was amazing. We later asked him for the name of a sauce that was amazing so he went to go and take a photo of it (we later bought it in a shop so Im super excited- Its THE best sweet chilli I have ever had)The food was amazing, hot and fresh and tasted delicious.Service was prompt, friendly and overall caring towards the experience you have whilst in the restaurant. We have always have fantastic service but I have to say Ellis was by far the best and most memorable. We had a lovely time and left with extremely full stomachs! As someone on a strict calorie counted diet and a protein push, Pho is my favourite place because the macros are Incredible and for my regular calories I can have a starter, main and side.We has summer rolls, prawn crackers, beef wok fried Noodles and drinks. Also highly recommended the beef brisket brothGreat costs and service charge is well deserved.Pho I shall be back soon ❤️ 💙 💜
Being a fellow Vietnamese myself, I think this place is really good for the Pho selection you can have. It really hits home when I get a little homesick. I recommend trying the hot & spicy pho if you can handle the little heat. The table condiments normally dont offer hoisin sauce so you can ask a member of staff if you want to enhance the taste of your pho broth.I also recommend the chicken summer rolls with the any of the sauces as both have a delicious combination.Staff has always been very friendly in making you feel very comfortable and welcomed :)
The food was great but the staff were inattentive and completely incompetent. Didn’t have enough cutlery at our table and drinks took forever. The young blonde girl working our table seemed to spend more time chatting to the attractive Indian man. At least the food was nice but need to have a serious shake up with the staff.
Good food. 6pm table 1hr 25 mins before mains arrived, phojitos arrived just before as they had no rum! Whilst in no rush a 4yr olds chicken nuggets arrived last to the table. Hooe this was a blip in their usually service, so will try again.
Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Service was good, but we waited over 40mins for the food to arrive (there were only two other tables of customers and it was 4pm so it was as quiet as can be so no excuse for the food to take so long), and when the food did arrive it was luke warm , suggesting it had probably sat for quite a while before it got served. I wouldnt go back there as the food didnt taste that great either.Edit asked to go back to try other dishes - are all the dishes on the menu served luke warm too?
Was good when we first visited. Portion sizes seem to have gotten smaller, and broth was not full of flavour as a pho is normally. The starters however were nice. Maybe this visit was a one off and hope next time we visit is better
Ordered through Deliveroo, order came spilled covering the bag, took a picture through Deliveroo app. Deliveroo offered refund which we accepted. Once we opened the food, the prawn curry had beef in it which wasn’t requested. We called the Restaurant directly and spoke to the manager who said that a replacement will be sent. 20 minutes later we got a call back saying they won’t send the food as we accepted the refund. That we have to pay for it and the delivery cost.Sometimes regardless of policies and procedures managers have to be professional take accountability and ownership for a mess up, bit the bullet and rectify errors to maintain reputation and standards. Very disappointed by the manager and the handling of this particular scenario.. Hiding behind procedures and policies are silly excuses. It’s just poor decision making and not following through and taking full ownership on the error with no resolution. In the end we have one person ate the other had to make a sandwich.
Went there with a friend. The food was amazing! I ordered the chicken Pho and my friend ordered chicken fried noodles. The ambience was chill and subtle. The only drawback is they charge service fee different every-time we go, so they should be transparent for what and which service they are charging us!
Went Pho earlier this month and Vietnamese food isnt for me. I had a noodle soup which tasted nice but it tasted too much f onions near the end of my bowl. My partner enjoyed it but its just not for me. :)There was a leaf apart of my spring rolls that was kinda... dead?
What to say about Pho - The food was divine and to say the staff were amazing, is an understatement. They were knowledgable about coeliac disease and fully explained the way the starters are cooked in separate fryers to ensure we could make the right dietary choices for my Dad. It really made his Fathers Day even better. Thank you all, we will be back soon 😁
Went to Pho for the first time today and absolutely loved it. The food was amazing and the time the staff took to explain everything was really appreciated.
We usually love Pho. Delicious food and service is on point. However today we had a couple of issues.1Squid portion almost half of normal.2mushroom and tofu curry came without mushrooms! When we queried it we were told that it doesnt come with mushrooms. Guess they will need to correct their menu!On the plus side the dishes were all delicious again.
staff are always quick and reliable, food arrives in good time. id personally recommend the brisket and mushroom or the curried soups. Incredible flavor
Brilliant meal in Leicester. Weve been to Pho in Portsmouth and were looking forward to another chance to try Vietnamese food. The dishes were superb just a shame that service was poor. Took ages to talk our order, then drinks were delivered without glasses. When glasses did arrive, they were just slammed down on the table. No style at all.
Great as expected from Pho! Friendly staff and yummy food.
Great food. Great service. Plenty of seating inside and outside, all 3 of us never eaten there before, all 3 have said we would go back! We all had a starter, main meal + drinks.
Pho is about the best consistency chain restaurant in Leicester. Always tasty and fresh, I eat before work often. Staff are well trained and friendly, while the establishment is very clean always. The rice roll starters remain my favourite.
Best soupy noodles in the town! Will surely go back anytime when I cravings for Thai spicy foods.
I had a rice bowl and it far exceeded my expectations, I had been here a while back and got a noodle soup which did smell a bit funny but I assume it was to do with the amount of fish sauce they were using. It did taste fine though but the smell was a bit off putting. Overall I am happy with the service and quality of food
Have a nice selection of vegan/vegetarian dishes, staff friendly and welcoming, loved the fresh fruit drinks. Staff helped us choose our dishes. The only reason it does not get a 5 star is that it was a little expensive. Id recommend. Just one last word of caution for nut allergens, peanuts in every dish unless you request none. Wish I had because I didnt realise theyd add heaps of crushed peanuts on all the dishes.
Really tasty food, lots of vegetarian options. We had a long wait for our food - only reason I gave 4 stars not 5!
I had the beef combo phõ, I give a 4 stars, the soup is not hot enough. Morning glory a bit salty yet very tasty!Like most the Vietnamese coffee, it didn’t come as expected with all the drips and filter, but it tastes just like the Vietnamese coffee
Good ambiance and decor, friendly helpful staff who went through the menu options. Bar code menu scan would not work on my phone, however the specials were very limited. Enjoyed their version of a chicken curry and rice. Cocktails were average, highly priced and mostly made up of ice cubes. Overall the family enjoyed the evening and we would visit again.
Great tasting food, good drinks lovely staff and a wonderful looking place but a bug put a downer near the end of our dinner. We ordered pancake and summer rolls with spring rolls to start, the pancake was generous, spring rolls not so much but all of them tasted really good.Mocktails, cocktails and beer were all tried and were really good (some crushing is involved if you find it to be too sweet)The phō mains were good with a generous amount. The fried rice noodles were very good and very generous and this is where the bug decided to land halfway though eating. The staff was notified and shown the bug but no remedial action was offered. There is a picture of the little guy because he was hooked on the noodles!
Very good Vietnamese restaurant in Leicester, there is more around UK too.Best selection of dishes are the Pho noodle soups (traditional Vietnamese plateand the rice Currys. Vegetarian options available too.Ideal to go with friends or couples.Medium price.Available some student discounts and NHS discount.Open space with distance between tables. Also has tables outside.
First time visitng and I highly recommend Pho to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine. Very worth paying for. Flavourful food accompanied with excellent customer service. A wide range of accomodating choices along with delicious fresh juices that are refreshing and healthy. Had the rice bowls which are bigger than they look and very filling as they come with rice, vegetables and meat/meat alternative of your choice. Will definitely be going back!
Loved the food and drinks and the staff were super super lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped us choose our food since it was our 1st visit. The absolute only reason it didnt get 5 stars (which the place really does deserveis simply down to the price of the menu, which was rather expensive. It was definitely more of a treat place than an everyday lunch. Definitely go and enjoy some amazing food served by lovely people!
Food is so delicious - lots of plant based options. staff very friendly.
Lovely service and great food, loved having chilli oil and vinegar on the table to customise our Pho, Pride Punch was probably the best cocktail Ive ever had, will be back again!
The first time we tried Pho, the staff were a little difficult to get ahold of but the food was amazing. We tried 2 of the vegan dishes and the fried tofu and button mushroom classic Pho- probably one of the best noodle soup dishes I have had this year!I would not recommend the hot and spicy soups if you are looking for spice as these were more sour than spicy, at least for the vegan option, but its still nice these exist as an option!
food taste amazing, takes a little while for food to arrive but worth it. Nice change from the other restaurants.Staff are really friendly and helpful aswell. And they do NHS discount!
Came here for a friend’s birthday, Delicious food absolutely spot on & the service was second to none, I had the spring rolls to start with & then the prawn curry, finished by a jasmine tea - it was very tasty.Oh & plenty of naughty cocktails.I will definitely be back here as I’d like to sample some of their other dishes.
Excellent food ,really really good !! Service was great the waitress and waiter that served us could not have been more friendly or helpful , would I recommend Pho ...most definitely ,huge choice in veggie food and did I mention the serving staff ..totally chilled cool people ...
Dont have printed menus and insist you use the app so be aware. Needs thought. Did offer to print one however. Food was delicious as always. The peanut sauce with the summer rolls is so good.
First time dining didnt disappoint.. such tasty food and great friendly service not to mention cracking cocktails!
As a Vietnamese, I am very unhappy about the food of this place.(-the decoration, apart from the wall, there is nothing typical of Vietnam.(-it takes a lot of time to see the menu by code, the restaurant doesnt have a normal menu(-I ordered Bun Bo Hue:The soup was too oily, even I took out a small bowl of oil from my soup; They cook the soup with shrimp paste (I dont understand why, Bun Bo Hue is never cooked and served with shrimp paste, it lead the taste totally different); The beef is extremely overcookedI DONT THINK WHAT I ATE IS VIETNAMESE FLAVOR (BUN BO HUE)(+very enthusiastic service staff
Ive had a great time both times Ive been here, with good customer service maintained despite the current situation and rush. The food itself has great flavours to it and overall quite balanced. The morning glory (water spinachis a must-try, as it has an authentic taste to it. The portions are also very generous! There only small issues are that the food might be a tad too salty for some; equally, the Vietnamese coffee didnt have the same strength of the traditionally-used robusta coffee beans. To end on a positive note, the staff are very attentive, polite, and seem to really care for your experience.
Delicious food. Very reasonably priced. Everything is mega fresh and tasty. Service was very attentive and enjoyed the music. Thank you guys for keeping this place going.
Great tasting freshly made Vietnamese food. The staff are welcoming and very helpful with explaining the menu. The starter is really nice and refreshing, if I didnt have the main I wouldnt have shared the starter! The main was nice, not too spicy, but filling. Really nice atmosphere and for good quality food.
Second time trying Pho (first was in Londonbetter this time around in Leicester. Starter was decent, main was disappointing, very bland, desert saved this from being a 2 star review, banana fritters and honey & ginger ice cream was excellent. Service was also good.
This place came recommended to me by my brother. I was dubious at first - Ive been to Vietnam, so expectations were high. But I have to say the food is far better than I had hoped. I went for the £9.95 lunch menu and left with a full stomach and a smile of contentment.
So excited to have Pho open in Leicester but I couldn’t try until yesterday due to broken ankle and ORIF back in sept... both my friend and hubby tired it and both gave high rating about this place. So yesterday we all went to the restaurant and what a disappointment. Both of them saying it’s nothing like what they had last time and they had it during weekdays. I gave 2 stars because of the service but the food... sorry the worse viet restaurant I had so far.Brisket beef with steak noodles in beef broth... soup not hot and noodles undercooked. I asked them to please put in microwave for me as I don’t want to waste food. They made me a new one in no time as they don’t have microwave. I was impressed with the fast service, but when he second bowl came it was worse than the first bowl, some noodles were still sticking together. So I quickly ask them to maybe put in the pot and boil again as I haven’t even took a bite. Finally the third bowl came and noodles were much softer and the soup was hot but... the broth has no taste and the brisket beef is like cardboard texture.Starters, spring roll was recommend by my hubby as he liked it last time, but this time, it looks like they over fried and burnt a bit but... is not crispy, feels like it was fried in the morning and quickly fried again before serve. The prawn crispy crepe... oh my god... what was that? You call it crispy? That’s worst than the spring rolls. The so called crepe texture is like cold plastic... and inside with super rock hard chicken bits and beansprouts... and prawns? Yes 4 bits of halved prawns lolThe green papaya salad... I can only taste sour vinegar and nothing else... maybe they have forgotten to add seasoning in the dressing. The sauce came with spring roll was normal and the salad was pure sour.My friend also thinks the first 2 bowls noodles were way undercooked and the one he previously had during the week he described the noodles as “smoooooooth”.At the end I asked the waitress if the chef is different during the week and she replied no. But we guess the good chef don’t want to work on Sunday. I just don’t understand how you not able to cook the noodles right when charging nearly £10 per bowl of noodles. When the bill came I was surprised that they have deducted the noodle that I had returned twice.
Very good, finally a Vietnamese restaurant in Leicester, must say the food is excellent, though bit pricey, expect starter er and main and drink to come to £20+ a head. Portion size could be larger as well.Come back again with high expectations as the previous experience was very good. However this Sunday evening the quality was far from average, it was bad, the noodles are under cooked to the point that they were still stuck together in a unwholesome clump. Twice the bowl of pho was taken to the kitchen and replaced promptly and but the pho is still uncooked. The beef steak is very bland and texture too tough to swallow. The fried rolls are of a bad quality, you can tell the rolls were over fried, tough and a bit to hard for my liking.Another starter we had was meant to be crispy, but ended up being very tough and not crispy at all, beansprouts from the dish has not been fried at a high enough heat to seal the moisture in.All in all, I would give pho restaurant another chance, just not on a Sunday evening as it seems the chef isnt at his best tonight.
