The noodles are very fresh, and the broth is very tasty too! Also ordered Banh Mi, its full of meat - at least 14 pieces (I counted because I saw another review saying there are only three pieces of meat lol)
Favourite Pho place in Coquitlam. The avocado roll with the peanut sauce is so delicious & filling. I could eat their pho all day every day. And man oh man those smoothies! Love this place. They’re great for dine in AND take out!
For $8.50 you should give people more than 3 thin slices of meat. This is so dissapointing, i wouldnt reccomend this. The portions are laughable
Going for a pho but i would like to replace the pho noodle with rice after reading the review. They said they could not do that, however, i can order a bowl of rice. Average pho broth as well.
Tried this place for the first time tonight & was not all that impressed. The chicken was kinda dry, the noodles were still hard & the soup base was luke warm. This place was recommended to me but I wont be going here again.
A place to avoid because it made no sense. They had various uses of Pho. I ordered the smallest one. They take my order and came back saying that they cannot serve me the smallest size. They HAVE to serve me the larger size that Also costs more. I was blown away that they couldn’t just give me a smaller bowl and lesser ingredients. They said they have no choice but to give me the larger order. Made no sense to me. After a long time of trying to argue I gave up.
what a rip off. I got maybe half a serving total. basically just paid for warm water. also the service was terrible. should have gone to 99 or hole in the wall.
Good Pho Tai, nice fried roll.Friendly staff!
I ordered avocado overload online, it taste bitter, they won’t replace to any other drink.
I ordered take out thru their own web, i thought it was cheap as it comes with the drinks. it was on time and well packed, however it shocked me after I opened the pho, it was uncooked!!!!!!!!!! R u kidding me? Its rubbery hard uncooked noodles, the soup was in room temperature and I have to cook the whole thing at home !!!!! I couldnt believed it could be a mistake.
Do not order anything online. They will ship the food you and say one of the item is sold out. Why can you still order online if its sold out? I wasted my time waiting for it.this
The food here is kind of meh. The noodles have a bit of a slimy overdone consistency, the meat feels recycled, and worst of all it seems theyve moved on from making their broth in-house to using the bags of pre-made instant broth that they sell at the counter. Two stars for food, but they do have a nice big dining area and really good service, which bumps it up to a three.
I have come here twice with my partner and have loved it both times !! The service is amazing, the staff is attentive well also giving a lot of space. The restaurant also has a good amount of spacing between the tables which is very comforting. The food itself is a very good and honestly a really decent price. We got two bowls of pho+ a side for under $25! For quick pho in a relaxing environment this restaurant is perfect.Thank you for serving us today.
The pho is delicious and flavourful every time. Staff is exceptionally nice and friendly, and super reasonable pricing. You can order from your phone and a 10% discount is automatically applied. This is my second time coming here and would definitely come back again!
The service is nice. The noodles and the soup were tasteless. The restaurant is a bit run down, looking like a canteen than a restaurant. There’s some serious management problem. The food tastes so much better at Vancouver Oak Street location.
I have been coming here to eat for over 7 years now and the quality of food isnt been really kept to standard. The Sate pho was one of my favorite, since the last time I visited, I wasnt too happy with what I got.
the service from the guy was good, but your food-. Pho, amount of noddle, meat quality, freshness of vegi, was far from the good bowl, unfortunately. I would have a question to the kitchen? Do you at least cook your own broth or use a powdered soup? That was that curiously bad.
Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews. We ordered through skip and it was great. Broth, veggies, and sprouts came packaged separately. I’m always sceptical ordering soup but the packing was very well done, I’d rather fight to open it rather then receive half a bag of spilled broth. Got the large steak and brisket, added veggies. Good portions of steak & veggies. Tasted great and was filling. You probly need a large each person. Can’t comment on dining inside and really hope the facility hygiene comments are not true. Based on our experience we would order again. Hope this review helps!
Really disappointing. This is a usual eatery for our family (3 teenage kids with big appetites). Upon entering the restaurant the young woman greeted us and asked if we knew about their contactless sign in. I didnt quite understand what she was asking due to us having to wear masks and asked for clarification. I got an eye roll followed with an annoyed repeat of the question. Once our food arrived my son noticed his pho noodles were mush (he eats the meatballs first). We brought this to the young womans attention ( again a big eye roll of inconvenience- we were the only ones thereto which her reply was you ate all the meatballs. We responded with yes we just want the noodles replaced no meatballs needed.Usually staff are friendly we understand the pandemic has brought hardships to many businesses and we have supported our local eateries a lot over the past year and half. so this was really disappointing considering we order from them at least 2 to 3 a month.
Terrible inconvenience method of payment. When pretty much youll only choose pho hoa for convenience. You can only order with your phone so I wonder what happens if your phone is dead or you only want to pay cash. I asked the girl and she confirmed this is true. Also I highly recommend the website be fixed or updated. There is no way to confirm your order or view any type of receipt online after. The booth is also super high and table super low so be ready for back pain after your meal. The noodles and soup base was a big disgrace for a Vietnamese person. It was hard to even finish. I get this is a franchise and the owner probably doesnt give a single- but my expectations were already super low. $4 Instant noodle pho packet would have been better than spending $10.75 for this garbage. Oh and super super dirty! Cups r stained yellow and tables are filthy.
It is sad that I turned a 5 star review into a 1 star review.I eat at pho hoa regularly and within the last year it turned into the worst restaurant Ive ever been.I supported this chain for the longest time, now I feel cheated, ripped off, and a wasted of my time coming back again and again.1. I have 4 gift cards which has balances between $8 to $20. I cant used them to pay online anymore... I cant use multiple cards and if it order more than whats on the card It Saids insufficient funds and wont let me continue. So I tried to use my American Express to pay and it wont take it, even though the website states it will accept it.What am I suppose to do with all these gift cards? I was told at the store that everything is online now and I cant use the gift cards at the restaurant. What a scam, you basically took everyones small leftovers on their gift cards.2. I ate here 2 weeks ago, paid for everything and I was told that my Vietnamese Coffee and avacado drink are not available. No substitution was offered, but the girl told me she would have to call to get a refund. 2 weeks later no refund.. what a ripoff.3. You have one staff now. And food went to the wrong table, waitress approaching wrong tables addressing customers by their wrong name as she has no idea who ordered what and at which table. Cant you give customers the option to put the table number while paying online?4. No more specials... But signs for specials are still up.. everywhere....5. Tables are NOT cleaned... I was told to sit at any table... I sat down and there was still soup on the table. Not COVID safe at all.6. your clear plastic cups are yellow and stained. yUCK7. Flies everywhere... There are more flies than customers or servers..If I dont get a refund on the drinks that I paid for and didnt get, a resolution for the gift cards I have that I cant use and a response to this post, my call will be to the news station, the city, and health authorities this week.
Worst pho I have ever had...the broth was good but it was basically just a roast chicken from Safeway with no falvour at all tossed in there. Prices higher then Ive paid other places. Couldnt order a kids meal to go...they said thats only dine in, so had to pay extra for my daughter. Awful service and long wait with no customers?????
This place should be shut down.No willingness to taking care of customer(s), and no interests with anyone walks in for take our orders. I am standing at the counter for my very first pick up order but these guys are just standing there and won’t say a word literally. How they run/operate the hospitality / restaurant business in this way is so questionable. Regret I placed the dinner order from this place. NOT recommended to anyone at all. AVOID it.
Tables are adequately distanced and our server was friendly and efficient. The online ordering system works well and is easy to navigate. The food and bubble tea tasted great, as always.
Watch out after eating here as you may have been scammed, I was. I recently checked my bank statement and discovered this place credited my original purchase and charged more. Upon reading other reviews I discovered that I am not the only one this has happened to. This is completely unacceptable and I hope they lose more than just my business.
Our whole family ended up having a stomach ache after eating their takeout. I wasn’t going to write this review since everyone’s having a tough time during covid but we ended up getting sick, so i had to. The noodles weren’t the same and the soup tasted weird. Don’t be fooled by their 20% discount on pick ups~
Really disappointed with this pho. Broth tastes really gross. Noodles are soggy and thin. Meat is really low grade and almost inedible. The only thing that was up to par was the sprouts and extra vegetables. Super upset and will never order from here again. Ordered from skip the dishes and was hoping for some good food and got a waste of money instead.
I’ll be the first to admit, this location was not always five stars.. the current manager has really turned this location around and set an incredibly high standard for Pho restaurants. The food always tastes good and looks very presentable upon arrival (foods I’ve tried are various soups, vermicelli bowls, fried rolls and the rice paper rolls). The servers invest their time with you and check in to make sure everything is to your satisfaction and make sure you have everything you need. I have yet to have anything bad from this location, and have not had a complaint to give. They can sometimes be a little slower on busy days, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant make up for any potential delays. Definitely a favourite spot of mine.
So slow service!!! We were the only table and waited for over 20 minutes. The taste is not good at all compared to other Pho restaurants. So called large bowel with so little contents which should be called small bowel. Will never go there again!
My husband and I discovered Pho Hoa in 2016, just a few months before moving back to Calgary. We were frequent visitors in that time (probably about twice a week). They serve a vegetarian pho that is soo delicious and honestly just warms you up & fills you up! Im also a huge fan of all their teas as well! That being said, we returned to Pho Hoa just last month while visiting for a week. The food was still great (we went twice in a week just like old times!but the place could do with some renovations. Almost all of the chairs are worn out (stuffing visible or falling apartthe tables can be wobbly or scratched up. Could use some fresh paint on the walls, etc. I dont want to rate this place too harshly because the food and the staff would keep us coming back but it was sad to see that not much has been "kept up with" in 2 years since weve been there.
Pretty big dinning space. Waiting area with chairs provided. Not many customers most of the time. Foods tasted just ok, and very small portion. Price is a bit high compares to others and with its portion. Ordering and check out speed is acceptable. Serve speed is super slow. Credit cards accepted. Public restrooms available. Free parking available.
Besides being absolutely ignorant about the common sense customer service, good manners, and positive attitude towards customers, the waitresses are putting a 10% tip surcharge on your bill without even telling you. Its on top of the "regular" price for the overpriced dish (small soup $ 11.50). Then the cook forgets to put all the ingredients in... Ridiculous.... Never again...
I actually only came to try the tea at Jazen tea. I love it!! Mojitos with mango bits was fab! Cant wait to come back again and try more!! But I only gave 4 stars cause its so difficult to find due to not having a sign up that you can see from a car. You have to get out and walk around to find it inside the Phó Hōa restaurant. Wich smells really amazing and I will come back to try their food too!!
The food was mediocre at best....which, I can tolerate. The biggest problem was the girl at the front counter. The food took too long to be prepared, and then, once it was done it was placed by a coworker on the counter and we werent called up for an additional ten minutes.I thought for sure it couldnt be ours. No staff member could possibly be that bad at her job. And yet, finally she looked at the chit and sure enough, it was ours.I told her at the time that it was unacceptable, but she didnt seem to see a problem with it.Theres too many great Pho places to waste my time at this one.
You really feel like you are eating at Vietnam because the fruit flies are everywhere! Disgusting!!! We had to keep a napkin cover the beans sprout and the cups so its ok to drink/eat. Go if you want to have extra proteins in your food/drink. Cant imagine how the kitchen looks like behind the scene.
Strengths: lots of space, points system to earn $ for feature meals, not very busy(if you want a spot)Weakness: slow food, okay flavors, portions dont reflect price, not enough staffWeve been coming to Pho Hoa for a long time for one reason alone - lots of space for large groups of kids. Other Vietnamese places are usually very tight where as this place has multiple rounds tables and not usually very busy. However service and food can be slow due to lack of staff. Food flavours are weak and portion sizes arent the biggest. My bowl of pho today was actually not that hot. That was a huge turn off right there.
Pretty good pho, and the drinks are so delicious. Service was decent. But our food took a little too long to arrive even though the place was nearly empty.
Dont come here unless youre not hungry and have a coupon/groupon. Service is non-existant. Food is subpar and takes way too long to get here. Ordered pho, took more than 30 minutes to put ingredients, noodles, and broth into a bowl. Washrooms are not kept clean. The whole facility is a mess.
We used to love this place but the last few times havent been great service or food. We went with our baby last weekend so time is of the essence. The service was very slow since we were completely ignored upon walking in and sitting down. Service was slow when we finally got help. We had to ask for our drinks twice because they kept forgetting and then brought us the wrong drinks. One of the dishes arrived after a long long wait and it took another very long wait for the second to arrive. The sub was very bland and the bread was dry, the soup was not the previous quality and taste as it had been in the past.
Ive eaten here in the past and the food was good. However I just visited the resteraunt and had to leave because after sitting for 5 minutes without any server or menu I was wasting my time. They were not busy in the slightest and I could see multiple workers going on break at 6:30 - the middle of dinner service. The food is good. But theyre still inexperienced in customer service.
Been to this place many times because my girlfriend really loves the pho satay. I admit, its really tasty and I do enjoy it. The place has a fast food vibe, so not the best quality service, and the cleanliness could be improved for sure.
Enjoy Ed the seafood medium #46 I think. It was tasty and filling. Very good value. Others had #44 beef brisket sinew and tendon just enough. They said it was terrific. They also split a bubble teaWe go at happy hour before 6 PM $1 off. Bonus!
Not a friendly place. After we walked in, we found seats by ourselves and grabbed high chair from their kitchen, then theres no menu, you have to grab it from their counter, and order them at the counter. There were 2 waiters, and the place wasnt even busy with only 3 table of customers. Ordered 2 pho, and missed the side dish. And they forgot my milk tea as well, worst service I have ever encountered in my life.
Not recommended. Pho Hoa used to be a fairly dependable place for larger groups, but the food quality has fallen as dramatically as their remodelling job over the past few years The soup base is incredibly bland and they are conservative with their toppings. There are quite a few pho restaurants the area, so go to literally any of the other ones.
What makes this place noteworthy for me is that each dish has a calorie count. The regular veggie and tofu pho is about 230 Cal which is really something when you see the size of it.Aside from that the happy hour deals are good. It gets 4 because Ive been to dozens of pho places theres not much to differentiate between most of them. The smoothie bar, calorie count and happy hour so long as you go during it makes it worthwhile.
不要来!不要来!不要来!Do not come this place. Food and service are both awful. We wait 25mins for the food. meat is small and awful! bad experience
This is my favourite pho place in Coquitlam. Delicious broth, extremely tender and buttery tendon, the noodles are the perfect amount of chewy and sticky and they give a generous amount of sprinkled greens. The negative star is because of the inconsistent service. Honestly, it doesnt bother me too much. The servers are friendly and the soup is great, so I let it slide. I do think that they should have a few more people on the floor, especially during rush hour, that way the servers are given the opportunity to give great service.
Service was terrible. Completely forgot my daughters soup. We asked them three times and then they asked us if we still wanted it. On bringing half of orders they spilt fish sauce on my wifes back. Hmm twice to remind them 20 minutes later for water and tea refills. Yes we did order other drinks besides water and tea. Terrible terrible service. This place was so good in the past.Never coming back!!!!!!Heres the best part after all that they gave us 10% percent off a whole 6 bucks.Seriously I cant believe this place.Curious to see what the owner has to say?
