Pho - Vietnamese restaurant in Bristol, United Kingdom
Food was lovely and we had great service! Our waitress rebecka really looked after the table, my grandmother in particular found her very amusing hahaha! Would recommend the brisket and mushroom pho, it was delicious!!
Had the loveliest meal here last night! I got the spicy green pho with vegan chicken and found it to be so delicious! I get this every time I visit and its amazing each time! We were served by Rebecka who was so friendly and provided quick service! Thanks Pho Bristol! 🥰
Pho itself was OK, the food good, not too long a wait when we arrived. However it was after our main courses were finished that problems occurred. After about 10 minutes a young gentleman came and took 2/3 of our plates away and we expected him to come back. No, so we sat and waited, hoping to order a desert and coffee. No, no one came, they were all busy chatting behind the bar and three waitresses were chatting at the till.Surely the one rule of service is to not miss an opportunity to sell on. Well it wasnt late and no one tried. I even had to stand up and go to the till to ask for the bill - and ask for them to remove the automated 10% tip! Where was the manager?
It was my first visit in this restaurant and I’ll be coming more often. I’ve been served by Justyna which provided the best service! Food was delicious, overall 10/10 !!
Visited with friends for a casual dinner befor going to play bowling. The manager on shift Marouan was very friendly prompt and professional. Our waitress Jenny delivered a fantastic service described every single dish and about their wonderful coffee.Definitely coming back
Very friendly service and good quality of the food. The place is a bit small and it seemed to be like in a fast food restaurant. Beside that I enjoyed my time at Pho and I would recommend it for those that would like to try some traditional dishes of the Vietnamese cuisine.
I’d say it is a nice food, but overpriced.Friendly place, central location
The Pho is located in a nice old building with high ceilings.Interior is modern.Menu offers mainly vietnamese food of good quality. Though it is surely not above average if you are a connoisseur and know vietnamese cuisine. The homemade lemonade tastes refreshing and really good.Staff is friendly.Restaurant is quite busy in the evenings, so you might consider booking a table.
Looked on Phos own website to see accessibility due to being a wheelchair user and saw the wheelchair disability symbol. Called up to see if we could book and they said it is walk ins only tonight so we went along when we wanted to eat dinner. When we arrived we saw that there is a small step into the building so my companion went in to politely ask if they had a ramp or a different accessible entrance. The staff member that came over to greet her was incredibly blunt and didnt even ask if there was anyway of offering assistance or if we would like any take away instead. Very disappointed with the lack of wheelchair access but more so with the misleading information on their own website.Although Ive not been able to eat at this particular Pho other Pho restaurants Ive eaten in have been wonderful especially as I have some food allergies and intolerances and it has never been a problem. I however cannot comment on the quality of food or ability to cater for those with food intolerances.
Best spring roll I’ve had in long time! The brisket classic was delicious.
The Pho was really tasty, but the star was the chicken wings for a starter, everything wings should be, crispy and tasty.
I’m not usually a fan of chains, but Pho somehow has got it right. Chilled atmosphere and delicious food.I am sorry to say, that having gone back with a friend 4 days after my 5 star review I have experienced the worst customer service in a long time. The staff were borderline rude. The lady who seemed to be the manager should not work in the service industry. Condescending and not welcoming.Waited 20 minutes for a glass of water after asking, then got it myself. Our food was taken to another table and after they sat over it for a few minutes the server brought it to us. I’m not happy eating a plate of food someone sat and spat over before. Our drinks/cocktails never turned up. When I told them to cancel because we are half way through pho and I don’t want a margarita now, they suddenly appeared. When I asked them to take off the optional service charge , because we were not happy about the service, we were treated even worse and made to wait to pay till they cleared our table. NO apology was given, even when I told the server that the way to deal with is is to apologise for the poor service and ask what went wrong. She rolled her eyes and left. And if this wasn’t bad, we overheard them gossiping and laughing with manager in lead about the 2 ladies taking off the service charge. After my glowing review the other day I wonder how this went so wrong. The food is delicious, cannot fault that and came out really quick. Albeit to the wrong table, but even the replacement was quick.
Delicious food! A truly excellent range of choices for Pho and Vietnamese food. They even have Vietnamese coffee so Ill be back to try that. However the service is not great. Ive been twice and both times drinks have been forgotten and there seems to be a general lack of attentiveness to service: difficult to get someones attention to pay the bill or if there is anything we need during our meal.Just to stress, the staff are lovely and Im sure it is just that they are stretched thin and overworked.
Me and my girlfriend went there for our first time last night to have dinner, was amazing! So we came back today for lunch. Definitely be coming back when were next in Bristol.
The service wasn’t the best, the waitress was completely lost on the floor. Actually nobody seems to know what they were doing. The only person really on the ball and seems professional was the guy behind the bar. The rest was all over the place including the manager. The food was horrible, uncooked rice and burnt meat in one of the dishes and the other dish was completely bland. The fact that we couldn’t even catch the waitress attention and there were not check back on the food made us just eat whatever we could, try to get the attention of the waitress to pay and leave. Honestly I used to like Pho but never ever again. It seems like another high street restaurant dying.
It was awesome! The food was so delicious and the service was so extraordinary nice! We loved it and will definitely eat there again once we return to Bristol!!
The food taste okay but far from real Vietnamese food. There is a lack of all kinds of ingredients in the pho. It tasted like chickensoup with flavour. The bun bo Hue is very very poor, not even close to the authentic taste. The music is also very loud. The staff is very friendly and cheerfull though (2star rating). I dont recommend this restaurant if you want to have real Vietnamese dishes.
This place is great excellent tasty authentic food. The food prices are more than reasonable. If Im being picky the only slight minus is the drinks are in my opinion expensive. I will definitely eat here again !
Great vegan options and service!! I wish I could visit again soon!
I love Pho, its so good for gluten free options.I had the baby squid, and the chicken curry would 100% recommend!
We came here last year and had such a dreadful meal that they gave it to us for free!!We are trying to find the best noodle soup place in Bristol so thought was only fair to come back. And happy we did because this time around was super tasty great portion sizes and service was good! Its reasonably priced too
Great and tasty food. I tried their spicy curries and their rice bowls and everything was simply delicious. Table service is very attentive and good as well, last time I was attended by Francesco and he was impeccable.
Food pretty good. Service the worst! We were greeted rudely before being kept waiting at the door for 35 minutes. Ok, so theyre busy, the weathers hot but they then let two (walk incouples sit down having forgotten about us. No apology. We were then patronisingly held for another 10 minutes as they prepared every other table except the one we were offered. Seemed spiteful to be honest. Maybe I displayed that I wasnt happy too much but it was the rudest encounter with any staff Ive experienced. They obviously are so busy that they dont care. We walked off as it was really upsetting. Such a shame as we like the food. Thanks Pho
Healthy, amazing and well priced food. The restaurant was very busy, which showed how popular it was. I got the Chicken Noodle Soup and it was lovely. Id definitely recommend this place but definitely book to avoid disappointment.
Wonderful authentic Vietnamese restaurant, their Pho is truly like you would get in say Ho Chi Minh superb, very busy & atmospheric really enjoyed it
First experience. Not too bad.Supplied the drinks but ended up being amazing.Food was good. I played safe.Would try something more spicy next time.Little pricey but thats probably the drinks.
Food was great. Good atmosphere. Service was slow (~45 min waitand waiters had difficulty understanding English, brought main before starters.
Vegans, avoid this restaurant. Ordered the spicy green with this isnt chicken today. Completely inedible. Just water with a small amount of chilli oil n. And 1 small piece of this isnt chicken. Managed 3 spoonfuls. My friends I was with also tried mine, and they both agreed the vegan option was terrible and just water compared to their beef and crab portions. When the waitress came to collect our plates, she saw my full bowl, looked at me, gave a loud heavy sigh, and took it away without even asking about it. I was so angry by the poor food and attitude of 2 of your waitresses, I just paid and left. When a manager reads this, please reply so that you can get in contact with me
Great food and atmosphere. Love the smell of Vietnamese food and wasnt disappointed with my "soup" at all. Very very delicious. Can highly recommend Pho.
We love Pho, but this trip, the food was over flavoured in all 3 of our meals. The service was so slow it was painful to watch! Our drinks sat on the side for absolutely ages, the person making them, made them, walked off into the kitchen and chatted to a chef. A person finished eating their food and then brought the drinks to us. Apart from us, there were probably only 2 or 3 other tables and they all had food, so nobody was rushing around. We saw at least 4 members of staff eating food and they seemed to be the priority over the customers. We had to pay a service charge, which, whilst discretionary was already added to the bill and we felt awkward asking for it to be removed. Defo wasnt deserved.Wont be going here for some time.
Lovely and very presentable Vietnamese food. One of the best dining experience. Lovely staff. Affordable as well.
Great food really tasty but unfortunately staff need to be restrained. Sometimes need a while to wait until they finish talking between each other. Some of them can not understand your order, maybe a luck of training dont know but really tired of this as you managing to gind really good place and then this comes out..... Shame and 5* to the kitchen.Yes sure I dont mind we can discuss it over the phone but there is not a big issue only thing is to take action on training staff and that is all this place need. The rest is absolutely perfect and food is just so tasty.
Oh my god! What an incredible discovery for me. If I could eat here everyday I would. The broths are just outstanding!
One of the best restourants in Bristol! Amazing food 10/10. Two blond girls made us feel very welcomed and gave us an amzing service. Can not recommend enough. If youre looking for amazing food and brilliant service thats the place!
Nice food, bad service. As an Asian eating in a Asian restaurant, I expected to be welcomed and actually being served by staff. However, the two blonde waitresses (could be managers as they are not wearing uniforms, which makes it worseis purposefully ignoring our table while they serve the other tables. When we finally got their attention, they looked annoyed while serving us. I’ve noticed that they only provide poor services towards us which is quite interesting. Extremely disappointed as they used to have good services and welcoming staffs.
Fresh, fast, cheerful.Good music, shared tables, the noodles are prepared just right (not over or under done). If you are hungry and want to eat quickly, but not terrible fast food, make this your "fresh and smart choice."Lots of Gluten Free options, including beer.
I was long time wishing to try this restaurant and tonight I made it. Well food was average nothing WOW, friendly staff although a bit cold like not paying much attention to tables, service terrible, starter and mains arrived at the same time even before the drinks, which were sitting down on the bar for ages and I had to grab an waiters attention to bring it to the table. Cocktails very watery. By the time I finish starter main was cold. Salads on the starter looked Veri tired. Shame because its not many Vietnamese food around in Bristol, the building was beautiful love the big rattan lights and high ceilings. Maybe management should pay more attention to service I would love to come back as I love Vietnamese food but it has to improve a lot.
All fresh ingredients, good portions size and flavours. Reasonable prices too.
The summer rolls are refreshing, I personally think they go well with peanut sauce (IF YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO NUTS). The chicken wings are super tasty and I definitely recommend both as starter.I think the wok fried noodles are quite filling, they can cook with less noodles but more veg and chicken strips. Lastly, the curry soup noodles are very tasty.I would say it’s a bit pricey for the food but it’s worth it for a treat every now and then.
Booked a table for 4 and came for an evening out. It was a lovely atmosphere- lots of happy people chatting away enjoying their evening. The waitress was really helpful suggesting which starters and mains to combine to give us a fuller Pho experience. She was a great host. We loved sharing each other’s dishes! We even ordered a few desserts to try and they were sooo good! We had a really lovely time in a cool space with excellent food. Looking forward to the next night out!
We came to Bristol as a group for the weekend. I hadn’t been to Pho before but I was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, lovely welcome, good hosts and excellent service. I am allergic to certain ingredients and intolerant of others. All the staff were understanding and very knowledgeable and were able to give me suggestions of what to have. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. All our group loved the dishes. We will definitely be back :)
Very nice place to eat good Pho. I recommend this restaurant. Very nice and professional service. Always helpful and smiling. I only ate soup there and I can recommend it.
It’s really popular so you have to arrive as early as possible. The pho was ok.The spring rolls were delicious and crispy.
Tasty food, friendly and helpful service. Ive never had pho before, but the staff explained everything clearly and patiently. There is a lot of food and the prices arent too bad. The pho is fresh and tasty, but can be quite spicy, so be careful if its not your thing. Restaurant looks really nice on the inside. Table service.
Poh is a rare find amongst chain restaurants that offers quality Vietnamese food which is near authentic, reasonably priced and in usually great sorroundings. If you like Chinese food (especially from the Southand wished it was spicier, then Vietnamese food is it. Close to the taste of Thai, but with more use of coconut milk, and creams. They offer a small range ( always a good signof beef, chicken, pork and veg dishes, and of course their famous soups. My only small gripe is that the servers should also have been Vietnamese rather than Poles / Indians, for that authentic touch.Try and you wont regret.
Great interior and food.. You can either sit outside or inside.. Portions are huge and Value for money.. I really liked the food here
lovely staff members and amazing quality food! we had three starters (veggie spring;veggie summer rolls;fried Chinese leafand two teas (mint and jasmine). would recommend and would definitely go back for mains.
The perfect lunch for anyone who loves Asian cuisine; even more so now the weather is turning, pho is the perfect warming dish. Add that with a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk... thats a winner.Nice restaurant, great food, good price.Pho has to be on your list of Bristol restaurants to try!!
Top marks for social distancing protocols and track and trace implementation. This is super delicious! We started off with a spicy lemonade and it was refreshing. I highly recommend it, it will surprise and delight you with its hidden tanginess. In starters we ordered the spring rolls and pork lemongrass meatballs. Springrolls crunchy but served too hot. It was dangerously ⚠️ hot (not spicy hot, but burning). The meatballs however had a unique taste, its like a Thai fusion of classic British food.My pho 🍜 🍲 of tiger prawns 🍤 wasn’t very spicy but I asked for sriracha sauce and made it spicy 🌶. So make sure you do that.Overall incredible food 🍱 and good discipline.
This is the second time we have been. Our first experience was not the best from a food perspective. Not the staff or the service, nor the ambiance and music which is all brilliant. This time though we chose a chicken curry and chicken and prawn noodles and it was excellent. We had pork spring rolls and chicken Summer rolls and prawn crackers for starters and it was all out of this world. Super little Vietnamese restaurant....
