Phka Villa Hotel - in Batdambang, Cambodia

This amazing hotel
Very dirty and worn everywhere. The most awful place. We moved hotel right away, and lost our money. But rather than living there. Does not match the pictures at all. Should not be rentable
Needs a lot of work on it
Ottimo per escursioni e ottima qualità cucina
From a Cambodian perspective, this place needs to be shutdown. The rooms are poorly built and unsafe for anyone to stay in. The room door could easily be opened even when locked. The door frame is easily detached from the structure. The bed frame is unstable, even to sit on. The surrounding area in front of the supposed to be rooms are not well lit. People could easily slip and fall on the not-so-clean walkway. The front desk is a joke! DO NOT pay for the room without checking anything out first, as your hard earned money will NOT be refunded. I would suggest to just not bother with this place at all, and find somewhere else to stay. It’s a creepy place!
expensive not very clean advise look elsewhere
Looks nothing like the pictures. The owner had atatude when ask why the pictures are 1 year old he said and the pool was dirty. Stay away
Phka Villa Hotel is a fine retreat, offering a large outdoor swimming pool decked beautifully with cozy sun-loungers. Rooms are furnished in the Khmer tradition, unleashing a pure thrill of the local lifestyle. All guestrooms are set around the pool and equipped with two private verandas and a bathroom. Also, it has been completed renovation since June 2018, So guest can enjoy the stay with us
After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about keeping our reservation. Upon arrival, the staff was nice, however our room wasnt ready. I agree with previous posts, the hotel needs work and not worth what they are charging. We were only staying two nights so we gave it a chance. The AC barely worked. The door was basically off the wall, and anyone could break in if they wanted to. The pool didnt look clean, and lastly, my dad woke up with a cockroach in his bed. After that we decided to switch hotels for the second night (found a place up the street, same price but quality was 10x better). The staff was nice, but wasnt worth our money or comfort.
Lovely, quiet family run hotel.
Nice outdoor breakfast beside pool
Overpriced, not a good value. Everything is falling apart. The management is very nice and helpful, but they either need to put more money into the hotel or lower the price.
The family who own the place sleeps in the lobby in mattresses on the floor, we found this sight a little distressing since its not you normal check in experience. I see here you describe rooms are decorated in Khmer style.... My room is an all white room which you have to access through a window, the bathroom is old and not taken care of and the door doesnt lock. It really doesnt have any type of courtain but a cloth. Nobody really speaks english and although everybody seems to have the best intentions thats not really what makes up a hotel. If you split the price they charge pero room per day in half it would still be overpriced for the quality of lodging you receive. The pictures that you see were taken some years ago when it was just been decorated. Owner made racist comments about me being from Mexico, even though as you can see in the comments below even Canadian people notice the same flaws. Save yourself the trouble.
Pros- free bikes to borrow during the day-Enough chairs to lay by pool-Mosquito net (you’ll need it)Cons- pictures are not accurate-Front area dirty dinghy and dark-Bar looks like no one has had drink there in years (dust on glasses and shelf)-Pool seems to have no filtration and filled with debris-Room has mosquitoes-Lock safe didn’t work-Ceiling fan was not secure so it swayed around and felt like it could fall anytime-Bedside lamps flickered-Toilet seat wasn’t secure-No face clothes or hand soap-Red finger paint on bathroom wall the wrote “LOVE” also little smears just outside of bathroom-Bed and pillows very uncomfortable-Breakfast was gross (hair in fruit plate, soup tasted like dirty water, scrambled eggs in bowl of oil/butter)-Kitchen looked like a storage hangout room when door was open-Plant pots out front filled with rot-Decor was poorly spray painted flowers when you walked to the left and crooked picturesWe were suppose to stay for four nights and only could handle one night. This place seems like it barely holding on. I understand this is Cambodia but the price and quality is far from what it should be. 300 dollars Canadian for four nights for this is unacceptable. I am not someone who complains nor has ever written a bad review on any hotel or restaurants before but I don’t want any other traveler to have to go threw what we did or this business to rip anyone off again.
Friendly staff cute pool. Ten minute walk from French Quarter. Some interesting bars at river end of dark street. expensive for level of hotel. Noisy in early morning dawn from area around. Room very clean.
September 2017, we stayed three nights. Very friendly, accommodating staff and family owners. There is an excellent breakfast every morning! On the morning of our departure, they also made us a great sandwich lunch for our bus ride to Phnom Penh. It was excellent (thank you!). Our room did not have hot water, but after hot Cambodia days it wasnt problematic for us. We had excellent wi-fi. For a great tuk tuk driver/guide, ask them to connect you with Sophorn. Thank you for a nice stay!
Personnel super sympa..
Good place
Very friendly owners and staff. Great pool. Great for kids. Needs some TLC and breakfast can be slow.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable rooms.
