This is the best family oriented museum in Miami!I believe that if we take in consideration all the most relevant or significant components that a “top of the line Museum or venue” must have: location, technology, design, star of the art building and structures, accessibility etc.The winner is the Frost and Science Museum 😍 (no doubts about it)They have such a great building that combines top technology, imax theater, multiple aquariums, arts and interesting galleries and exhibitions, good food, great parking lot, an exclusive metro rail station… and the location is simply privileged; the museum in the hearth of the Downtown Miami surrounded by another museum and beautiful gardens in front of the Biscayne Bay.If you live or are visiting Miami do not missed the opportunity to visit this wonderful museum. 100% recommended 👍

This is such an expansive place! So much to see, take in, interact with and the shows they host were so cool. Had a great time going through activities and each floor that had so much to see. Recommend giving yourself more than three hours to enjoy this wonderful place which truly inspires curiosity and excitement while learning. We got to enjoy a little “treasure hunt” of clues that were scattered through the museum and some displays in order to get a card fully stamped. The aquarium is just breathtaking, with sharks, turtles and large and small sealife swimming above. Got to touch a stingray up on the roof and see more animal life. Definitely a great place to learn while you have fun.

We brought our kids here on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed exploring the different exhibits. The multi-story aquarium was the highlight with sharks and turtles floating above. Touching the starfish and stingrays was fun for the kids as well.

Gorgeous museum with very up to date and well maintained exhibits. It was honestly the highlight of our trip to Miami and so much fun. The aquarium is extremely cool especially considering the fact that they don’t even advertise themselves as an aquarium first and foremost! The information at the exhibits was presented in a genuinely interesting way, that would be interesting for both children and adults. Would fully recommend if you are looking for something fun to do in Miami!

We went to monster mash @ frost & what a blast we had. Loved every science station they had. They also gave out candy at every entrance of every exhibition. Learn a few things about chemical reactions & also how to make some experiments at home. We touched sting rays and star fish. We also enjoy the shows inside the globe & they never forget to remind you to keep looking up 🌝🌛☄️🌖🌕🌑🌘🌓🌗. 👽

Finally broke down and went to thenole Frost museum. While the location isnt the best and the parking is definitely annoying and poorly conceived, the museum itself packs alot in and is very well kept and fun to explore.SUGGESTION: Buy a Membership. The basic one is currently $100 and allows you plus a guest entrance any day. Otherwise a daily entrance is roughly $30

We had a terrific day at the frost science museum! It was my daughters 10th birthday trip and she had a blast! Many many interactive, hands-on exhibits. Its great to have the planetarium under the same complex. The café was fantastic, and had so many delicious offerings. It was lovely to see all the aquatic life. Essentially there is so much happening at this place and theres something for everybody! A true science enthusiasts fun day!

Great way to spend the day, with or without kids. The planetarium was amazing and the various exhibitions were both fun and informative. The aviary on the top floor was very cool and the view of Miami and cruise ships beautiful. Definitely worth the price.

First time going to the Frost Museum, and it was a hit for my son. Lots to do there, we were there for close to 6 hours, and could have stayed longer, but we were all getting tired. The aquarium is multi-level, they have a couple of "petting stations" for the sea life. The coolest one was the manta ray station. Overall, its a fantastic place to bring kids. If you are local, I would highly suggest becoming a member. You get a year pass with no blackout dates, discounts on everything. Parking, food and souvenir shop. If you only went twice in a year, youd actually save money by becoming a member.

We have amazing experience today at the museum. It was our first visit and we will surely return because it is a place where there is something for all ages. The staff was super nice . If you go early in the morning you will not have problems with parking. They have variety of foods inside the place .our favorite part was being able to touch the sting ray in their natural habitat. I will 100 percent recommend this place to enjoy with your family .

This is an excellent museum. Tons of exciting often interactive exhibits covering a wide variety of subject matter. Included here are a planetarium and aquarium along with a mini zoo. There is so much to be seen here apart from the usual you may find at any other museum. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning for an upcoming exhibit they have on the way.

Unique, but you need patience to get the most out of the exhibits. Bring your detective skills, immerse yourself in the detailed sets, learn some forensics (as Arthur Conan Doyle didto aid in your investigations as you walk through the exhibits, looking for clues to solve the crimes.

I visited this museum with my friends and I had a wonderful experience. It is young kid-oriented but as a 17 y/o the exhibits still captivated me nonetheless and I had so much fun. The museum has a heavy emphasis on marine life and has several aquariums, with little exhibits on other topics. My favorite part of the museum was the interactive activities scattered throughout, its very fun to learn via playing around with them. Although, a GOOD chunk of those machines were faulty or totally non-functional (heart rate monitors are inaccurate in MeLaß, broken blood splatter contraption in Sherlock Holmes (isnt that exhibit new?)). In general, the museum looks in disrepair in some parts and lacks polish. For having 6 floors, the exhibits are minimal and I truly thought we had missed something until I checked back at the map. With such a priority on marine exhibits the other exhibits are not given much love & care and have little (with the exception of maybe Sherlock Holmes); I was kind of disappointed with the aviary and the Mammoth exhibit, both looked as if they were thrown in. Its definitely not the high-end museum I was expecting Frost to be if you also thought so. And honestly, I wouldnt have cared about all this if it werent for the 30$ entrance fee for people 12+. Thats grossly overpriced. I wanted to come here again with my family so they could experience it but it would total out to over 100+$ for a family of 4. Dont get me wrong, I had an amazing experience here despite my complaints but I dont think Ill be coming back. As a science enthusiast, I can say its probably not worth returning, but for a first time, it is really great.

This place was a great visit! I definitely recommend checking this museum out with anyone whether its your friends or family. You should also buy tickets online to save the long wait at the booth, we just walked to the front desk and they scanned our E-tickets to give us our wristbands. There are so many things to do and various activities to participate in. My siblings and I started out the the Sherlock Holmes exhibit and it was a very fun way to kickstart our day there by learning about different technologies/practices and trying to solve a murder mystery. After this we had gone to our show in the planetarium, Dynamic Earth. This show was very entertaining and the screen was a large and concave shape of the entire planeterium so it felt more like an experience rather than just watching a screen! The rest of the museum was very large to explore. We were able to check out different exhibits and learn about different plants, animals, histories, etc. The contemporary art towards past the entrance on top of the garage was also a fun spot to take pictures at.

I dont recommend visiting this Frost museum unless you have absolutely nothing to do and want to kill some time on the super hot or rainy day. I think it is over priced with $29.95 per 12y + and $24.95 per 4y +. Parking is $15.There are 6 levels that have aquarium, planetarium, Sherlock Holmes exhibit and observation deck. Unfortunately, none of this my family of 2 adults and 11 and 16 year old found interesting. My son (11y.said it was Ok. My 16 y. daughter didnt like it.The variety of fishes is poor. We were able to see 1 shark, 1 hammer shark, and 2 sting greys. The Mammoth display is a tiny room with few things in it.You can choose only 1 of few shows in planetarium which was ok, but a little boring. The Sherlock Holmes interactive exhibit I was looking forward to was not as interesting as I expected. At first, after kids got their notebooks and started looking for clues, got bored pretty fast and didnt completed the tasks. Some of the things were not working, so kids lost interest. However, some adults there were pretty much in to this and very excited. So, maybe its just us that didnt get too much involved in to this process.Overall, I think it is overpriced and is recommended for small kids 3y and under that can go there for free.Dont buy tickets in advance because you absolutely cant get refunded, return or even change the dates. This is what the fine print on the ticket says. All sales are final. This wasnt the worst, but definitely not the greatest museum experience.

We took our 5 year old here on our visit to Miami. It’s a combination of a science center and an aquarium, located in the Biscayne bay with beautiful views of the cruise ship terminals. The best part was the planetarium which has a 360 degree sky screen which made the beyond our worlds presentation very realistic. Most of the interactive body models were not working which was a bit disappointing. The top deck has a wonderful view of the city and the bay. There is a cafe available with a variety of options however the food was pricey and the taste was 5/10 not the best but not the worst. They also had a wonderful Sherlock Holmes interactive display where you could collect clues which was quite fun. Overall this place is great to visit with family.

I was really excited to come here and wanted to experience this museum and it fell SO short of my expectations. The exhibits werebroken - parts missing, the interactive portions not working. The 4th floor had a lot of items closed. The elevators only had two that were working. The Sherlock Holmes exhibit was pretty cool but they really need to step up and fix it. A huge disappointment.

The aquarium has FOUR levels (squeeeeand we enjoyed our show at the Planetarium. Sherlock Holmes exhibit was so much fun, but we couldnt solve the mystery because a couple key interactive areas were not accessible (under repair). It was still so engaging.Lots of creative spaces for engaging little people too, it seems very child-friendly.

The movie is great! It’s in the sphere structure media room. They have three options but you can only watch one with the ticket. The Sherlock Holmes exhibit is great! It’s like an escape room type of experience. They will hand you a booklet, and you can gather the stamps and evidence. You will go through the rooms and gather evidence and try to crack a case!

Beautiful place for hanging around, and take some photos. There is no much to see( on a quantity sense, on a quality sense is incredible), but is really nice for a.family trip. The planetarium was great but you have to pay per each different show and they are short, around 15 mins, more or less. The Mammoth skeleton is incredible, but is the only one big fossil to watch. There is a Dinosaur recreation close to the evolution of flight wich merge really well into space rockets section( if your children are Dinosaur freaks, they dont have enough Dinosaurs). The place has a beautiful aquarium and you can spot 3 sharks, rays, colorful fishes amoebas, and some birds. The Sherlock Holmes exhibit is a clever one and they have done an incredible piece of art making this immersive experience. Felt somehow a little short on the science side, for kids specially. Maybe more about the weather, electricity, motion, sound, basic chemistry... And more interesting items. The Med Lab felt like a.waste of space. But the marine science on the other side is quite beautiful sight and make our day really special for the whole family. One more thing the Parking lot felt quite short on numbers because its shared with another museum.

Had a wonderful day at the museum. I would recommend it for families with kids is very kid friendly and they have a lot hands on activities for the little ones. The shows are worth it, if you can go to all of them 100% recommend, my suggestion is sit somewhere in the middle to get the best view. One of the highlights for me was the Sherlock Holmes experience they currently have, is very interactive and hands on, complete the challenges to solve the mystery. Overall would recommend, it was a beautiful day, I would say set aside 4 to 5 hours of your day to explore and spend the day there so you can see all they have to offer and dont worry it seems like a long time but time flies when you are learning and having fun.

Very nice science museum. The layout is a bit unorthodox, with exhibits spaced out across 6 floors, accessible by elevators. There are 1-3 exhibits on each floor, so you will have to return to the elevator to see everything. Speaking of the elevators, there is a bank of 4 which are centrally located, but there is no audible cue when one opens, which makes it a bit challenging to get on sometimes.

So if I could select the place that I take my last breaths and fade into the other world, theres a better than average chance that that place would be beneath The Oculus the the Frost Museum. Very cool aquarium exhibits, good planetarium film, meh other exhibits (health exhibit 👎, Sherlock Holmes exhibit 👎👎), but the ginormous tank with sharks? Breathtaking and worth $30 itself easily.

We stopped here to kill time before boarding a flight. We were pleasantly surprised! The staff were all very nice and they even checked our big luggage while we walked through.I absolutely loved all the aquariums. The second level with the giant glass window is absolutely awe inspiring. There was really a nice variety of fish and other wildlife to see. The teeny tiny owls were an absolute highlight! The plantarim was amazing! I loved the show we watched and the projection was spot on perfect. Really wowd us!Although I liked the openness of the building, I didnt feel like the museum flowed well. We were often hopping back and forth between buildings. I also felt like a LOT of the interactive exhibits were not working. Im talking like, 70% non-functional, which is really a bummer.Id absolutely recommend visiting but I think the almost $30/person we paid was a little much considering how much was broken/non-working.

Such a wonderful place to visit with your family ! Even if your not much interested in science this place gives adults and children wonderful ways to interact and think about science ! It is definitely a must go place in Miami and worth every penny! You have so many different topics like health, space and nature! The only thing that was annoying sometimes were the big groups that visited also the museum; but we went there on a Friday, so maybe during the week it is more relaxed. Still worth visiting the place !

For anyone with a free day in Miami, the Frost Museum is a great place to spend the morning or afternoon. I was a bit leary that it may be more of a childrens attraction, but it is definitely a great day for all ages. The Frost Museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits with elevators that take you to 1 of 4 levels with different themes on each; my husband and I visited in the heat of Miami summer (so as you can expect, we melted).Between the 2nd and 3rd levels is an incredible glass tank of stingrays, sharks, sea turtles, and a variety of fish in which (depending on the levelyou can enjoy both from above and below. (see photos). The museum has a variety of other wildlife including birds, freshwater fish, turtles, frogs, snakes, etc. and a plethora of reading material if you come ready to learn as well. The majority of the museum is sure to keep you engaged, but the top level is a very underwhelming garden in which needed a lot of work during our visit.. if youre in a time-crunch, Id suggest skipping this level.Be aware -- the Frost Museum is definitely on the pricier side for standard museum prices at $30 / person on top of $15 parking. However, if youre familiar with the downtown Miami area, you may be able to locate a pay to park space within walking distance that will lessen the cost of your day.Great views of the Miami harbor & beautiful aquarium. Worth the visit! :)

Lovely science museum covering marine life, astronomy, human physiology and rocket science! Their planetarium is one of the best I have seen in the recent years. Extensive exhibition of marine life including stingrays, hammer head sharks, fishes and corals is the main attraction here. Ice age exhibits, rocket science exhibits and Me labs provides lot of insights for the young adults and grownups! A must visit place for all aspiring scientists! The observation deck and solar spot at the top floor and food joints within the building are plus points!

Visited from Atlanta, Georgia. I wasnt disappointed. I think it was a nice museum overall. There were plenty of things to do and see. The kids can play with their interactive things. Also they have an aquarium which makes it a plus so its like going to two different places at once; museum and an aquarium. The planeterium was amazing! We saw the world beyond earth. If you are ever in the downtown Miami area and you are wanting to feel a little nerdy, come visit this fabulous science museum tucked perfectly near the waters giving spectacular views. The museum has five levels of interesting scientific information, artifacts, aquarium, lunar and planetary descriptive information and pieces, and video presentations. I highly recommend this scientific museum to others seeking a great time and looking to absorb and expand their science based knowledge.
