Looked almost abandoned
Great hospitality ,Polite and helpful staff. In addition the food was great ,the pool was nice .To conclude , it is a place worth visiting!
Special
super nice
This hotel is very old and needs urgent renovation. One can see and feel that it once had its glorious days, but this is many decades ago. The building is breaking down, the rooms and toilets are old, the beds are inconvenient. Personnel is mostly kind, however with exemptions. Food is OK. No towels are provided for the pool (not even with extra cost). After asking about it, the answer was that providing towels for the pool would increase the room price and that nobody would ask for towels, if they costed extra.
Horrible old crumbling hotel and very expensive for what it offers! The room had a weird smell. Maybe moldiness or something. There was a leak under the radiator and they had just put a plastic bowl!Better stay somewhere else! I would never go there again.
Everything was nice, ambient was fine, but the manager, the guy without hair, was disappointing. If you are celebrating something, better be ready to see some different stuffs than what he agreed upon! He was rude and he denied some things what you both agreed upon. Your hotel could get 5 stars from me if we didnt meet him.
The welcoming was ok, our room had the view at the pool and they host 2 weddings one after another and we could not sleep very well. The breakfast was very poor.Cherry on top, when we came from downtown they had one bus from Turkey in front of the hotel and we had to wait in order to enter the parking lot. That wouldnt be a problem but this guy from hotel staff was screaming in Greece and after that he came very frustrated at my window to scream that I have to wait. Is a very frustrated person and that is a big minus for this hotel.
The rooms not good
I was in this Hotel for a Seminar. The Hotel is somewhat older, not the latest fad, but for seminars its a very good place. Its very beautifully places with view on the Sea and a nice path in the Forest around it. The Staff is very nice, the food good, and there is a Bus service to get to the town.
Amazing
Best staff❤️
Super
Very good and clean hotel, good location (right in the forestand friendly staff. There is a lot of parking space. The only negative point is that it needs a renovation, its a little bit out dated.
We stayed for a week and the stuff at the reception was really rude, except one redhead girl who was really kind and available. If you’re doing a work stay forget about a proper functioning wi-fi.The food is average. The hotel is located in a cute area but it is quite far from everything, there’s a bus service to the centre of the city but the schedule is kinda obscure and lacking.Special mention to the really rude guy who kick us out of the lobby because we were talking too “loud”, by saying only “GO”. you could have asked nicely and we would have left.Overall pretty average, the rude stuff really made it worse.
Good hotel, nice location, nice view upon the town, far from town, but in a lovely forest
the garden and interior design of the hotel is beautiful, laundry is too expensive, for 3 pairs of socks it costs 8 euros, the food is too good the staff is very friendly, and the conference room is good, the internet is terrible, there is no internet next to the router, disaster, some rooms are very dark and not pleasant ...
Not a very good place to rest. There are many loud weddings here so its impossible to get any sleep. Rooms and bathrooms are not too clean, but there is no tragedy. Very nice service, delicious dinners and great koftas. Unfortunately, the pool is practically always closed.
We visited the pool on a very hot day and we had a very pleasant experience. The staff welcomed us on arrival, took our order and showed us a place to sit. It was peaceful and calm and the 5 euro entrance fee included a drink of our choice which is quite reasonable.
Very nice and comfortable hotel.great quiet location.
Great hotel for an affordable price but the bathroom could have been better.
lovely garden and view but the hotel and furnishings look very tired...the amateur service was cold.our orders were dumped on the table as if we were at a street stall.drive on
For just coffee AND AMAZING VIEWS come BEFORE 7PM!! so the pool bar is open. Otherwise there is no view
The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. Shuttle bus doesn’t work, swimming pool is randomly opened or closed. Food is barely edible. The room itself was probably nice 30 years ago. Hot water and air conditioning are advantages.
Dated, old, basic but Convenient, with a pool and on a green hill. Good rates
Nice looking hotel, conformable rooms. Only problem is that its located far away from city. You need car or taxi to get any where from it.
A hotel with plenty of conveniences and in a perfect location. A good place in order to visit nature and many kinds of plants as mushroom. If you stay there you should see the well known hill called as the Karate Pe that provides a thrilling view all over the city. From there you can see all monuments that together form the ancient wall of Thessaloniki. Dont miss the chance to visit it, you will have an amazing experience!! I hope you will have a great time!!
It needs some improvements, but the view is spectacular.
Excellent location for an evening outing when the heat in thessaloniki is too muchEnjoy iced beers and snacks in the refreshing coolness of Seih Sou forest
Nice and clean rooms. Good breakfast. Good room service. Willing personnel.
It was a super small for a hotel and the breakfast was not delicious ... The bathrooms were pretty messy too I gave 3 stars because I needed a good sleep
Cosy, but we had a terrible view from the window. Facilities and room sizes excellent 👌
The worse experience I ever had at a hotel. Bugs in our beds and dirty. We stayed there out of need for 1 night but we left the hotel at 02:00 in the morning to find another.Shouldnt be allowed to be open.
Lovely old time classic we only called in for coffees and drinks as we were caught in snow, the lady at the cafe was very nice and polite great views of the snowed in pool area .Very clean and welcoming .
For me this visit was a nostalgic experience, having sampled the delights of this establishment when it was still relatively new in 1979.Set high up on the hill in a pine forest this is an absolutely superb place to stay if you are visiting Thessaloniki and have your own transport. You can avoid the busy city traffic and leave your car parked up while you take advantage of the excellent hotel shuttle service which is very frequent especially at the weekends. A local taxi is also very reasonable at around 10 euros.Plenty of parking here at the hotel. Check in is fast and efficient and you are soon on your way to your room. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. The heating works well and there is also air conditioning. Our room had a balcony with breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains beyond.Everything works as it should including the Wifi. Breakfast consists of cooked food and cold buffet with a good assortment of choice. I can definitely recommend the restaurant too. Good value for money and well presented and tasty cuisine.Of course what makes a place special is the staff and this is where the Philippion excels. Everyone from room service to restaurant, drivers to Reception are so pleasant to deal with. Be sure to ask Mitros on Reception if you need to know anything. He has been here since 1980 and is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There are some reviews that say this hotel is a liitle tired and in need of an update but seriously it is absolutely fine and perfect for anyone for just a one night stop over or for your entire holiday. As you leave the city and drive upwards towards the old city from the waterfront be sure to leave your change with the pigeon man and if you can spare the time buy him a coffee and a bite to eat. Thanks.
It has very good food and excellent staff they are great, needs a little bit of renovation but all in all very nice
Perfect environment, not so good service.... A bit on the expensive for what it offers
Visited the restaurant for a wedding celebration. Nice buffet but not great. the outside yard needs a make over . Great location with view
Large rooms, nice view, located in wooden area outside of the City
Great location for a hotel, especially in the middle of summer. Located literally in the middle of the forest and excellent views of the city and sea. However, urgently needs to be renovated!!Floor and stairs of poor quality.. Furthermore, the lady on the entrance of the pool bar refused to speak English and didnt make sure if she applied charges to people that were actually renting a room at the hotel for their entrance to the pool.
Came as a group, not sure of the price point, outside pool looks great but I did not like the room. I found it dirty, I am particular about bathrooms and this one grossed me out. The walls in the room were dirty and the carpet obviously seen better days. All in all, if all you need is a bed for the night, go ahead, but if you are wanting something more I would skip it. Its a shame because the staff are really nice, the place just needs renovating.
It was a rather pleasant experience. Built on the top of Seih Su Forest of Thessaloniki is has a stunning view all along. It is worth visiting both as a resident of the nearby area and as a tourist. It has a sweet little cafeteria and a magical outside space. I will not forge to add the fact that the waiters are really nice and polite with everybody and the service very swift. I give it this mediocre rating because of a few reasons. The rooms are rather average and tend to show their age. Despite the fact that the staff is really pleasant, the place is not preserved all that well. If I was to give it a short rating it would get a 5/10 from me. Moreover the place might be rather large and have lots of different spaces with alot of activities, this is its greatest drowback. Its easy to get lost and for the non greek tourists it is hard to keep track of each place. In order to end this review in a pretty good tone I will add that the view from each balcony is really pretty, whether faced into the forest or into the sea. It is worth the visit, even if you do not intend to stay in there. An overall rating of 6,5/10 and few hopes for future renovations. Note: Im really sorry if my level of English speaking/righting is not as good as you expected. English stand as my secondary language in both use and origin. Hope you have a nice time in our country!! You have my highest regards!!
The best for the rest. Hotel in the middle of the forest and mountains. If you like to breathe clearest air this place is the best also you can see the city and sea. The images is from near of the hotel.
It s very bad hotel,I dont like, because ıts not clean and very old
Very good food, nice breakfast, comfortable bed. Problem with barking dogs all night and furtiture need some refresh.
Nice place but needs a lot of improvement. The stuff is friendly. Ordinary food, nothing "wow". Rooms are clean and comfortable.
This hotel was THE posh place to hold an event two decades ago. Alas nowadays the management really struggles to keep it open (or so it seems). The rooms are in need of urgent restoration, the common areas including the pool too. It definitely needs to get rid of this air of decadence if it is to survive. I can understand that running costs are high and it reflects to the rooms prices quite badly, but I think the management needs to think hard on how to make this price reflect some quality, otherwise Im afraid that its not worth it.To conclude on a high note, the hotel is situated inside Thessalonikis largest forested area, the Seih Sou, and the view to the city is beautiful.
The hotel must have been quite good 30-40 years ago. Today not quite. During my 1-night stay, the lock at my door broke, the bath did not have sufficiently warm water, the wifi was intermittent. Breakfast was ok and the staff were helpful. However the hotel urgently needs renovation.
Its outrageous they gave us a room directly above a greek wedding.
If you want to be able to swim in the ocean than dont live here! Just her for the sigthseeing than its ok.It feels like they dont care about their guests. Today they closed the pool beacuse a wedding! It was like 15:00 and really hot...I want to swim in the pool to cool down. The toilet in the room is really really small, not too my liking.
