This is indeed a very beautiful and imposing building. First of all it is situated on an island in centre city. Roads run all around the building. I dominates the landscape even though there are taller buildings in the area. Due to it central location it is easy to get to by public transportation. With the numerous hotels in the city it is also within walking distance. Not far from the shopping centre and historical quarter. It is considered the largest municipal building in the United States. When you see it up close you can tell why. Tours are available at a modest cost, so wont break the bank. A must see landmark if in Philadelphia.

Built of brick, white marble, and limestone, Philadelphia City Hall is the worlds largest free-standing masonry building and was the worlds tallest habitable building upon its completion in 1894. In 1976, it was designated a National Historic Landmark, and in 2006, also named a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers.Philadelphia City Hall is the seat of the municipal government of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, housing the chambers of the Philadelphia City Council and the offices of the Mayor of Philadelphia. It is also a courthouse, serving as the seat of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, and houses the Civil Trial and Orphans Court Divisions of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.

An impressive land icon with beautiful architecture, in the center of the downtown, with also some worthy visit points of interests surrounding. Masonic Temple, Macy (and the amazing organ), iconic Love park (a lot of people taking photos with the symbolic icon).

It’s is one of the oldest buildings in central city, the design of the building of very attractive to everyone. From my experience if you are visitor and you want to visit this place don’t use car because no parking space near to the building so use subway, the subway is across the building.

The City Hall is a huge building and words cant describe how beautiful it is. The architectural design of this building is genius. There are so many beautiful details. Theres also an observation tower. On one side of the City Hall is a park that includes benches and a water park. Its a quick walk from almost anywhere downtown philly. Its definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful architecture, it blows me away every time I see it. A lot of hustle and bustle. Great place to people watch. We love the ice skating and roller skating rink. Family friendly!

The city hall is located in the heart of the Center City. If you are on the hop-on hop-off tour bus, you will definitely pass by this historic landmark several times. The architecture is beautiful. The visitor center inside the building is very helpful. I really enjoy the observation deck tour. $8 for 15 minutes. 360 degree view. From here, I can view all the high-rise buildings. And is more than enjoy taking lots of nice photos. They also have interior tour as well.

A very historic building. The area has been spruced up a lot in the past several years. Love Park is right around the corner. Chinatown is close by as well.

Always amazing, such a amazing historic monument that was built by masons in Philadelphia founding days. The inside is only open during normal business hours, but dillworth park is accessible all day & night ! Tons of places to sit and even a fountain to cool you off.

Lovely building from the outside.When u drive from the S broad St, you get a beautiful view of the city hall at the end of the road.You can walk around the city hall to look at it from all sides.There is not much lighting after sunset, advice you to visit here during daylight.Beautiful architectural building.

Amazing city hall and recommend anyone to go in the winter to see the light show it is worth seeing with family and friends and to just learn the history of this amazing city hall!

Recently my mom and I visited Philadelphia for a few days, and by far, this building was one of the highlights! The architecture was extremely beautiful and unique. It had a courtyard to eat in also. It was full of history and some plaques around the building made sure to outline that. It is a great place for tourists who want to feel what Philadelphia is really about. This building also made for some beautiful photo opportunities!

It is a wonderful place. You should visit the place. Its old and charming right in the downtown of Philadelphia. There are many spots you can sit and enjoy the views. Have ample amount of time to enjoy the place. Will suggest to visit before 9 PM. All places are not safe during night. The buildings are beautiful. A must visit place.

One of the Beautiful structures in Center City, in my opinion. The sculptures decorating the exterior are so in detail and so awesome. Watch Entrance has something different. My favorite is the one with the pillars depicting people from the 4 main continents. I’m sorry, I don’t know the entrances by name yet, I’m from Jersey but Philly has always been like home to me.

One of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever visited. The architecture is just stunning. A masterpiece! It’s also one of the most well-lit buildings I’ve seen. Not crazy about the yellow clocks after dark though. White light would be so much more elegant in my opinion. But that’s a minor issue, the building is amazing. I didn’t get the chance to take the indoor tour but I’ll certainly do it next time I visit.

Amazing, spectacular, stunning, inspiring. We stayed across the street, so i was able to visit City Hall several times, both early morning and late night during the holidays. First, it was most surprising to learn that you can WALK THROUGH the open ground floor to traverse the city block. Once inside, at the center of the courtyard, it feels as though one is visiting a castle. The architectural details are just beautiful and watching the sun rise through an archway was awesome. We visited again at night while the holiday light show and Dilworth Park festivities were under way. The crowd was respectful, mostly masked, and it was a safe and cheerful space.

Philadelphia City Hall is one of a kind with North, South, East and West Entrances an exact copy. The experience inside is dizzying also. Fully engrossed in capturing images, the thought of monitor the time when gates are locked at night never occurred to me. The subway is locked down and only essential personnel are on site - and so was I.I did not panic. The secure environment at night: surreal, paradisiacal.Snap back to reality as an employee pushes his cart through an interior door - me, “I’m saved”. Personally escorted safely through a City Hall corridor, I quietly re-entered Philadelphia’s atmosphere.#LetsGuide

This building is so cool. The architecture is amazing and so unique. I was told that the person that designed the Philadelphia City Hall also designed the US Capitol Building and the US Senate. So much history here. Worth a visit. Next time I’m in town, I’m going to see if there are tours of the inside available. Would be so neat to see inside.

This is the tallest municipal building in the country. This is in the downtown of Philadelphia and its extremely artistic and picturesque. It is surrounded by a lot of historical structures. It is at a walking distance from the Philadelphia Art Museum and the Love Park. Beautiful place to spey the evening.

This place is fine piece of architecture. Amazing view from the inside of city hall. Kids can enjoy the small fountains and you can grab lunch and coffee. We spent couple of hours here and we were totally amazed by the details carved on the structure. A must visit place if you are near Philadelphia.

City Hall is a nice place to visit. Full of history and an amazing place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Kids will love playing with sprinkles in the warm weather.

Guided walking tour is highly recommended. It would be difficult to find out the history and tremendous meanings of each ornament without explanation from guide. It is hard to imagine how big William Penn is before going up to the tower.

The Second Empire style building is an architectural masterpiece and the most magnificent building in Philadelphia, also the largest municipal building in the country.Located right in the heart of the city. A photographers dream.

Beautiful architecture, and seems that there is always things and events going on nearby this area. We really enjoyed exploring around this building!

This is a major focal point in the city en route to the main shopping street and I just passed sound it circumventing to reach my hotel. The place is majestic and huge though I have no idea what would be inside. Hellooo. My friend and I spent four days in town and one of must visit buildings was the city hall. We did the tour. Once a day at noon. We heard a bit of history and renovations. We walked through the different floor, offices, and courts. The tour ends in the top of the building. I guess it was 22nd floor right next to mr william penn. What a great view of philly and new york. Simply amazing.I forgot my tours guide name. Bald, beard, and cool guy. Thanks a lot.

Impressive architecture! Very well maintained and reconstructed. We also found it cool that you can walk through the main building allowing us to appreciate the internal architecture as well. It’s interesting to see the clash between the old and the new specifically when there was a very colorful Audi R8 revving his engine right outside. :-)

Really nice building and surrounding area. Steeped in history and William Penn looking down on you to keep you safe. A lot of homeless people hanging around, but they don’t bother you.

Parking? There is like no parking. Is it busy? YES. Extremely. Four of the citys busiest roads form a circle around the City Hall. Alot of tourists? YES. So, is it worth it? OH DEFINITELY.The gorgeous architecture of the place is just awesome. The building is tall and imposing. Try to go there on a sunny day when the shadows are long. The contrasts and light play will deliver spectacular photographs.Take the citys subway. Hail an Uber. Or park wherever you can and just walk to the place. Ultimately, in a historical city like Philly, walking might just prove your best bet because this way you get to discover countless little hidden gems along the way!

City Hall is always fun to visit and walk around. This year we actually went up for Christmas week and really enjoyed the light show they did every night on city hall. Super cool and nice to watch with family and friends. In addition to all the holiday decor they also have the Skating Rink set up. My wife and I paid to skate and had a blast. I believe it was only 15 bucks a person. It’s really nice to visit during the holiday season in the evening and right across the street is LOVE park with all the pop up Christmas and holidays shops.

Philadelphia is just so beautiful and this building was not the exception. Nice walking area with beautiful, historic buildings like this one.

Beautifull big historic site thats city hall. It has some impressive architecture on a grand scale. Its open to public(some sectionsand its definitely worth the stop!

Absolutely marvelous architecture. We took a tour of the tower only, but the views were spectacular and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the city. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if youre from out of town, like myself!

We didnt venture inside but the outside was impressive. We even walked through the courtyard. I was impressed by the upkeep of the building. Honestly it looked like a castle. I wish the United states had more historical landmarks and building well maintained.

Love Philadelphia! Excited during a day while exploring. Huge (more than I expected, sorry!and Touched American history and a hotdog on the street was stairway to heaven. Wanna come back here again, absolutely.

If you are in Philly it is important that you visit this place. It is the center of the city, with its four exits, north, south, east or west, take you to great roads of the city.Historical and important point. You will enjoy it, the architecture is amazing, very old but totally standing and preserved. One of the most important buildings in the city.

Its a really beautiful old style building its strange see how old building so tall, on top that have nice statue that you can see from every side of the city, big difference from The Old City Hall, like everything in Philadelphia if you get over here you cant miss it to see it, Im its right in the middle of the city very nice. I personally didnt visiting inside because I didnt have time but Im pretty sure its really nice inside and may you have to visit it

Almost certainly the most interesting city hall youre ever going to see, at least in the U.S. Probably also the only one that was ever the tallest building in the world. If you want a tour, though, make sure you go early. We went by immediately after lunch, and they told us that the tours were already sold out for the day.

Its so well done. Used to be the tallest building in the world. William Penn watches over the city from the top. Just beautifully done both historically and modernly with traffic and signals. Just phenomenal. Best statehouse/courthouse Ive ever seen.
