Chute-type waterfall reached by a short path, with views of Osorno stratovolcano in the background.
Petrohué Waterfalls in Puerto Montt
Description
Privilege
Its one of the most beautiful water color Ive ever seen
Love this place as it is just beautiful. Entrance is 6400 CLP for foreigners, kids up to 11 are free. These days you even find a cafe directly at the falls and free toilets after the ticket booth. Plan to spend an afternoon which will allow enough time to enjoy the falls, have a coffee and walk the short trials. From Puerto Varas take the bus at 3500 CLP per person. Recommended.
MoreThis should be a must item in your life bucket list. If you are a contemplative person, schedule a complete day. I couldnt stop myself in taking pictures of every place and view.
MoreStunning, absolutely stunning. Easy to access but busy as a consequence. Still worth the visit though.
MoreIts a nice place but its nothing boggling
The waterfalls were beautiful and definitely a must-see. However, since nature created this place it is a bit overpriced.
MoreA beautiful, quiet spot. After Iguazu, we wondered how impressive this would be but it is stunning. There is a little cafe and three shprt trails to walk. One of them leads to a little pool which is a great place to have lunch. Easily accessible by public bus from Puerto Varas.
MoreSuch a beautiful place. The color of water is magical.
Astounding nature!
Beatiful, definitely worth a visit, easy access and well maintained park.
Extremely busy due to covid restrictions for a national park! Insane! 1.5 km waiting line. Scenery is beautiful.
MoreSurprised about this good rating. We were disappointed after visiting the park. The falls are beautiful, but there is not much more to see and it was really crowded. Foreigners need to pay twice the price to enter the park, which is too expensive.
MoreTotally overpriced for what you get...We booked the ticket online from conaf for 9$. Nevertheless we had to queue for 45 min because even though they have a limit of 300 people the were letting enter more. 300m platform to see a dried waterfall with hundred of people. No worth your time, better go to Lago todos los santos thats its beautiful and free
MoreToo expensive for what you are getting. The lines get very long if you arrive after 1pm and you get better views if the water just a kilometer or two up the road and you can even touch the water. The views are beautiful either way but for the price we paid we felt cheated. Almost 3000 Chilean pesos for citizens and over 6000 for tourists so you better speak good Spanish.
MoreVery nice place to be visited early in order not to be with too many tourists....
MoreNice waterfalls carved into volcanic rocks. The color of the water is beautiful. And the views of the Osorno volcano are spectacular. A must if you are in the area (but do not expect something like Iguazú, though ;)
MoreOne of the must see things when un Puerto Varas / Puerto Montt. The entry to foreigners is priced at 6,400 Chilean pesos and at the time of writing this review you can only pay by card. Be aware of the black flying bugs who can make your life pretty difficult if you come during the summer season. Wear white colours if you can as they like to follow thing in black colour. The bus takes you to the entrance for 3,000 Chilean pesos, leaving from Puerto Varas. They go as often as every 30 mins. Recommended!
MoreNice place to do some sightseeing, there is a way conditioned for easy walk to get a good sight of the waterfalls. The waterfall itself is good but not super impressive.
MoreBeautiful nature location, u can live the intensity of the waterfalls around you...and see the most gorgeous water colors, along with impressive views of old trees and the mountains behind...absolutely beautiful 😍
MoreGood place to visit near the national park
Beautiful rapids. However this time they were rebovating the best view of Volcano Osorno and the rapids. However 6 dollars CAD to visit this park and qell worth it. One of the purest waters in all Chile. The volcanos and mountains alone make the trio to Petrohue worth it.
MoreBeautiful place . easily accessible.
Very beautiful place. Me and my wife visit . Allah bless health and happiness to my wife. She live long...😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘
MoreTop 3 most beautiful place of south Chile. Beautiful waterfalls, nice water color. It is a required place to visit she passing by Puerto varas or nearby. No photos can describe how beautiful this place is.
More6000CLP/each (foreigners price, Chileans pay just 3000/eachplus 1000 CLP for parking to visit the waterfalls and the Laguna De Los enamorados. Its one of the most beautiful waterfall we saw in Chile, the way to arrive until here is also worth the time you invest. A nice one, one star less because of the double price for tourists and the bad toilets.
MoreBeautiful! The scenery is amazing. The waterfalls, the volcano on the backdrop, the nature all around it, it is all absolutely breathtaking. A very soothing visit.
MoreBeautiful park. Very well maintained and managed with beautiful views of the waterfalls. Nature trails lead to pristine pools and quiet forested area. Exceptionally clean and friendly staff.
MorePretty and a short stop off the highway. Good for stretching your legs for a bit.
MoreEntrance fee.Colorful place. In summer super hot. Carry water.
Amazing place with emerald color water, you be able to be in touch with nature and enjoy the stay during the day.
MoreThis is a must see stop when visiting Chile, absolutely stunning views and walking trails.Very touristic so it is hard to get good pictures but you have to stop here and check it out.
MoreComplete tourist trap. Prepare to navigate through a gauntlet of selfie sticks to be treated to views of an underwhelming "salto" . The river further up the road to Petrohue appears quite similar in nature but it is free and more importantly without the crowds. If money is of no concern to you, and you also enjoy traffic jams and being penned in with a bunch of photo-shoot-hungry tourists, then this one is for you. At 4000 pesos, this definitely represents poor value. A fool and his money are soon parted.
MoreBeautiful scenery and a couple hiking trails to enjoy. A must see if youre visiting the Puerto Montt/ Puerto Varas area.
MoreFor the view , it would be 5 stats but the price to get in is kinda high compared to the size of the place and the amount of time you spend here. There are better views all over the river for free
MoreWhat a great park and impressive river and waterfalls/rapids. I would more likely call it rapids rather than waterfalls but the boulders are pretty huge and the force of the water in the area is impressive. There are about 3-4 trails so there is more to see than just the main attraction. The pathways are well taken care of. There is an entrance fee and parking fee to consider. At the entrance there are some cute shopes and a cafe.
MoreOther than the crowds its natural beauty at best.
One of the most beautiful places that Ive ever seen in my whole life!
What a magical place. Crystal water crashing through narrow slot canyons paired with white reflection pools. Its built to handle tons of tourists and gets really busy. Id reccomend a March-April or August-October trip to miss out on the crowds; just bring rain gear!
MoreBeautiful trails and a nice nature walk. Definitely need to visit if you are in the area.
MoreWaterfalls with a beautiful volcano Osorno on the background. Entrance fee is about 3000 CLP
MoreThe Petrohue River is the outlet for the Todos Los Santos Lago, also sometimes called Emerald Lake due to its color. The River flows downstream from the lake through a rocky gorge. The river quickly separates into a number of channels. The main channel flows steadily all year. A number of overflow channels are flooded during peak flownin the spring and early summer. The spring flow ocassionally overflows the unpaved roadway in the upper reaches of the gorge.
MoreCheap and totally worth the hour or so it will take to wander the trails. The trails are an easy walk and the views are unbelievable!
MoreDont now if its just me or I prefer to visit this place in winter time... But the improvement showed in the last five years, helps to avoid the stress about the crowd 😁 finally there is a world class visitor center, where you can book tours, buy jewellery, handicrafts souvenirs or just enjoy a coffee and local sweets!! There are good hiking trails to enjoy alone or with your family. This place is a must!!
MoreNot quite a waterfall but a very fast set of cascades which have walkways around to give brilliant views. Good facilities include car parking, gift shops and toilets. The whole place is very well signposted
MoreBeautiful place! CLP1000 parking, CLP2000 adult park entry, CLP1000 minors; bathrooms, snacks and coffee shops, tour agencies for other related activities and souvenirs. Includes a lovely trail that takes you downriver through streams and cascades.
MoreStunningly beautiful river, waterfalls and setting. Volcanoes in the background on a sunny day. Three different short hikes are available. One smaller lagoon with waterfall is pretty and less crowded. This is a destination for cruise travelers and can be very very crowded if they happen to be there, as was the case for us.
MoreGreat powerful waterfalls and beautiful pools. Orsorno volcano in the background when it appears out of the cloud. Dont bother with the food or coffee though. Terrible and expensive.
MoreWords really wont do it justice, thats why Im sharing some images. This is just nature showing off.
MoreOne of the best landscape Ive ever seen, is just breathtaking, completely worth the ride. You can drive in the "Interlagos" route and do multiple stops to get different views from the river and the volcano. Currently the treks in the park are closed so the ticket is a bit expensive just to get the panoramic view, if you drive just 3km from there you can get the same view for free and with less crowd. The rafting is a must take tour (you can hire the tour before entering the park), the sights you get from inside the river, the experience of getting in that cristal clear water, is amazing.
MoreNice place to visit. Glacier-fed waterfalls with stunning backdrop of snow capped mountains. You will surely enjoy this place. A ten minute drive down an unpaved gravel road you can take a very scenic cruise to the town of Peulla.
