Casual French restaurant in a compact, classically furnished dining room, also serving Italian food.
very good food. surprise me a lot to be honest. haven’t had such great food for a looong time and do have paris taste in it !!
Had the pleasure of attending the restaurant with my wife and two kids for her birthday. The food was served in good time. What was really impressive was the level of customer service we received from Matt, Kervin, Thalia and W Veronika. That was what was the most impressive thing about this restaurant was.
Used to be one of my favourite restaurants but recent visit adding 12.5 service charge, wont be going there again, a real shame
Have been going to this Resturant for over 20 years, cant fault the food,However this place is in much need of a deep clean, especially the ladies toilets,no excuse for this place to be so dirty.
Really enjoyed our dinner. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Nice food and a reasonable price. I had heard that some people had, had a bad experience – that’s was not the case for us.
Beautiful food, very good choice of food and drink. £££ well worth it - a special occasion or business lunch place. Michelin star quality for the uninitiated.
What can I - Formidable fantastic. Food fantastic, staff very pleasant. Went on a Groupon deal
The most amazing 3-course evening dinner.Fantastic menu choice.Lovely bottle of red from Croatia at a very decent price.Excellent attentive personable service.Thank you.Traci & Tel
Do not go here if you have any problems with climbing stairs. Too many up to the restaurant and again upto the toilets. Food was good service intolerable beware. After spending over £200.we where told to leave even though others where still eating. We had stayed too long they said 2hours was the limit.
First time here and I can assure you it wont be the last! The food was just amazing , staff , friendly and attentive, couldnt have wished for a better experience and highly recommended Thank you xxx
Good foodService a bit lacking, more interested in the couple moaning about mashed potato than other dinersWaiting for coffees, couldn’t remember if we’d even had our startersElsewhere next time ☹️
The food and layout of the restaurant is lovely. And the staff are friendly. Highly recommended a visit
Note: this was a Groupon voucher dinner.Apart from being charged ~ 5 gbp on top of the Groupon voucher at the end of dinner, everything was perfect. The food was great, the experience was wonderful, the staff were absolutely lovey. The place and music was beautiful, felt like I was in France.
The service was stellar from the second we stepped in till we left. Waiters made the experience feel like the chef particularly attended to our dish. The food was splendid, I can say I rediscovered my love for mushrooms after having a taste. The food was tasty. I felt it was a bit expensive, but I am going back again soon 😊
Reservation for 4 dinner Saturday evening. Place was busy. We were made welcome. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was served promptly it was hot, fresh made and very tasty. Loved the desert. Top service from friendly staff. Highly recommended.Would gladly return.
Delicious. Even though the menu is full of English and Italian dishes, I must say that the food was absolutely delicious. If you dont expect French food, but very delicious food, you will be delighted.
Overall very nice, we came with the Groupon and the servers are very polite and attentive. Ambiance is very pleasantFood came out quite fast, the salmon pate was nice and the other duck starter was okay. Very large portions for mains, which were goodPudding could have been a bit better, the sable tart was a little tasteless
We (2 were walk ins for lunch on a Wednesday. Place was quite busy. We were made welcome. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was served promptly it was hot, fresh made and very tasty. Coffee to follow. (They werent able to offer other than full fat milk and had no decaff coffee to offer)They currently are adding 10% surcharge to menu prices to cover ingredient inflation. They will remove this if asked. Gratuities are on top.Would gladly return.
So I went on a Tuesday night. It was very quite. But it shouldnt be. The food was excellent, I mean really good. The staff were also amazing, staff to customer ratio when I was in was 5 to 1 but all of them were great. Yes they were all young and had been taught to be attentive but at no point was it over bearing. I dont want to sound patronising but thats a hard thing to do without experience. Its also upstairs which is always weird for a restaurant but it was really nice nevertheless.
After celebrating our Son and his girlfriends graduation on Tuesday , we came here and had a superb meal at the chefs table. We were served by a fabulous waiter named Lorenzo. The whole experience was tremendous, the food was out of this world, nice wine and friendly staff.I would highly recommend this place.
Went to Petit Paris on a Groupon deal. Our expectations were low.Boy were we surprised. The full range of the menu was available as part of the deal (with one reasonable exception an additional charge for a fillet steak option). Our three course meal was exceptional.I strongly recommend the smoked haddock with crispy egg.The staff were friendly and attentive.
Mixed quality of service with average food. The ham hock terrine starter was tasting but a ridiculously sized portion. Duck main made me glad I filled up on the ham hock.
Had dinner this evening with old school friends after a 50 year gap. The food served was excellent, nice helpful friendly staff and we all agreed choosing this restaurant was a good idea. Only criticism would be that coffee after the meal was not offered. Everyone agreed that they had enjoyed their chosen dish particularly the beef Bourgignon .
Please don’t miss this restaurant if you are ever in Nottingham. My brother took my wife and I to lunch and the food and service was fantastic. Our server Selina and the wine waitress Shy are the nicest people you could ever meet. My brother loved the Lyonnaise soup followed by rump steak with Stilton sauce and cheese platter for desert. My wife enjoyed the brie fondue followed by Chicken supreme and profiteroles for desert. I had the same starter as my wife followed by duck and also profiteroles for desert. Everything was delicious, good portions and beautifully presented. House red, Michel Servin complimented everything. My wife also had a glass of white. Cappuccinos all round complimented desert. The ambiance is lovely and the view of King Street from above enchanting. Exceptional restaurant in every way. Staircase to enter from exchange walk is easy but is a few steps and no elevator.
First time fabulous food and staff very good
Disappointed. The food was nice but nothing special. The service was poor on several accounts. We said we needed time to decide on the mains and were obviously misunderstood by the waiter as we were then were approached by the manager on shift. They were prepared to explain to us how we couldn’t just order starters for our entire meal? Our exact words were “just starters for now” and I have never been misunderstood like that in a restaurant. The wait staff started packing up at 9pm when our reservation started at 8:30. The staff stood at the bar and talked loudly throughout our meal about how much they wanted to go home. Really disheartening as their sister restaurant, Paris, is one of the nicest restaurants in nottingham. 2 stars because the food is nice for the price.
Great food, fast service with friendly and efficient staff.
Not been here for years. Can not praise the attentive staff for their service enough. And the rump steak was fantastic. A mixed group of customers and was sat in a small back room, which initially thought was going to be quiet, too quiet but it wasnt. Enjoyable evening.
My sister surprised me last night with all our family and friends, to have a meal out before I welcome my second child into the world.Well what a let down if was! We absolutely loved petit Paris in the past and was so excited to return.Upon arrival, we were not welcomed with a hello and informed that we only had two hours at our table. Even though nobody said this at the time of the booking. The food came, I chose the signature bacon and chicken salad and to follow salmon linguine. My starter was so bland, so plain in taste that all of us who ordered had to ask for extra salad dressing to add a bit of flavour to it.The main arrived, that was even worse! The pasta for one wasn’t linguine, it was spaghetti and the taste, well to be honest there wasn’t any! No flavour at all. We had to ask for salt and pepper and Parmesan to try improve the dish.We as a group, there was 17 of us, left feeling so disappointed and sad. Would definitely not be recommending to anybody from now on and will not be returning!
A lovely little restaurant with a very warm welcome and speedy service. The food was absolutely delicious with good portion size and lovely presentation. I would of scored it 5 if it were not for two points... 1 the pervading smell of cooking fat that was a little unpleasant 2the extra 10% they now charge that goes directly to them so you still need to tip separately if you want to reward staff , so can get pricey.
Starters bland; had the salmon and the Brie cheese “fondue”. Mains very good, the beef bourguignon was really nice and it would be perfect if the meat wasn’t so dry. Desserts was ok, nothing special. The bill will add 20% vat so don’t be fooled like us thinking what great prices the food is because the bill will be very different than what the menu shows. My expensive ish (£30umbrella was stolen there too. We left and realised we left the umbrella about half way home. We called 30mins after we left to put the umbrella aside and we will collect the the next day, but the staff said it’s not there. So either a member of staff took it or another customer. But the fact that it’s only been 30mins is just a bit weird. For that reason I think 2 stars is appropriate. Food not exceptional, misleading prices due to added vat to bill and stolen belongings :(
Kind staff, delicious food, nice atmosphere.
(RestaurantPetit Paris really reeled me in. The moment I set my eyes on the sign from across the street, scanning the facade of the old building, I couldnt believe to have mumbled that I vowed to come back. And so I did exactly 2 days after.Their street sign by the doorway on the side of the building offered affordable set menus for 1-, 2-, and 3-course meals under £20. I was imagining a Parisian getaway, something to whisk me away from boredom. After a flight of stairs, I was dulled. I felt as if coming into another mundane British pub atmosphere, smelling that sticky feeling on a hardwood surface. However, I was hungry and food is top priority. A staff member ushered me to my table in the corner (which I do preferand had me browsing through the menu.I already rehearsed what I wanted in my mind, 2-course meals for 2 so I can sample 2 appetisers and 2 main courses. I mean, how bad can that be right? But then, decided to just go for 2-course menu with 1 more appetisers a la carte. So, for appetisers, I chose wild mushroom risotto beignets with tarragon beurre blanc and ham hock terrine with wholegrain mustard mayonnaise, pickled carrot and sourdough, and mains was confit duck leg with aromatic red cabbage, pomme sauté, caramelised apples and port jus.I had the staff member crinkle his brows for a second but he knows hell be able to make it possible at his managers advise. But when both the appetisers came, and I missed out on telling him to pace gradually, they were in decent portions. The risotto beignets, on their own, were confusing. Not creamy. And fatty, but that was because theyre deep-fried. I was thinking little pockets of bread with a creamy risotto inside when you slice it open. The tangy mushrooms and sauce on the side werent much of help either. The cold terrine with pickled carrot on top of the bone dry, toasted sourdough, the flavour was unremarkable. Both of them had already made me stuffed with probably a third left for the actual course. And I was right, the duck leg was enormous but I wasnt too thrilled. The apple, potato and cabbage sure make a nice medley on your fork but duck was grainy rather than juicy and couldnt really satiate the umami. I had a sauv blanc, but wished I went for red.So credits to the affordable price range and definitely filling portions. As an observation, the restaurant has regulars making advance table reservations at the reception as they exit. Definitely for Christmas.
Nice atmosphere and good food. The place was really cold, I mentioned this and the air con was switched immediately and then me and 3 other couples were able to take our coats off. Issue sorted with no fuss. We had a Groupon which made no difference in attentiveness and quality of food.. would happily return.
edit July 2021:went last night and it was pretty disappointing, salmon starter was like a block of catfood, with an unknown white sauce which tasted of nothing with some water cress, friends had the fried califlour which also had the same white sauce and green decoration, the beef bourguignon was written incorrectly on the menu and came with baby onion instead of shallots, the great wine sommelier had gone, all the staff were kids and were adequate at best (leaning over people to serve, asking to repeat orders). Ive been here probably 10 times and this time felt like its lost all its charm, food wasnt as good, Ill give it another go but it might have had its dayWent on a staurday evening at 8pm, the food was great and well priced, fishcake starter and lamb main were excellent. The white chocolate mouse was a little underwhelming and for the price a small portion however well presented, the passionfruit panna cotta was very well received.Service was attentive and balanced. The only criticism I have was upon arrival was left to stand in the doorway / small bar area for a few minutes before being spoken to otherwise a very enjoyable evening, I will be returning.
Amazing food and great value! Reminded us of a restaurant we visited in Paris! I will be visiting again next time I’m in Nottingham.
It’s located very close to Victoria center at Kings Walk. It’s in a beautiful historical building so you have different sitting area. We were seated next to the window and the service staff lead by Francis and Celine is really nice and friendly! The food is freshly prepared, well presented and delicious!Only down side is the French fries… would prefer them using hand cut 🥔 would be perfect.Overall it’s really lovely to enjoy the hospitality of dining out. They offer 1,2 & 3 courses at very reasonable price and well worth to give it a try if you around town center!
Great food, lovely customer service in a pleasant setting. All good
Came here for our 22nd wedding anniversary and had the best time. Food here tonight was the best i have tasted in my many visits here. I told the waiter that it was our anniversary and 2 glasses of champagne 🍾 were brought to us.Thanks for a great night guys. See you all soon
Food was delicious, well done chef! I just couldnt stop saying mmmmmmm.Only downside is that the tables are very close together.Sevice was prompt and staff friendly.Would recommend the pork and pear, the brulee and the passion fruit panacotta with dark chocolate truffles.
Friendly and polite staff, nice food and a quiet atmosphere to enjoy dinner. Very pleasant and enjoyable.
Very nice yet a petit old worldly. But truly a little taste of France, the food "tastes" and I mean actually tastes of something , not from the UK. They do the 3 course thing, so easy for groups of up to 10/12 . yum rating 5 stars (for food3 stars for decor. But who cares if the foods great!
Most amazing meal. Nice atmosphere. Good wine. Overall perfect night. Highly recommended.
Nottinghams hidden gem. Beautiful food, great price, great wine list and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend.
Flawless execution of French classic bistro food. Even when busy the service was excellent and attentive; Matt was especially welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. The food came out at the right time, the prices were incredibly reasonable and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is relaxed with smooth jazz and French cafe music playing. I wish I lived nearer because I would visit this restaurant regularly. Its independently owned and sums up everything that I love about the restaurant trade; friendly, attentive staff, delightful food and great prices. Long may they last!
This place advertises as “the real French experience”, but if you come for lunch on a Sunday you hardly get that. There is a set menu, and the options include a roast dinner with “Yorkshire pudding” (I will come to that later), lasagna and and apple and blackberry crumble. Hardly any French options available at all. The chefs clearly dong understand what Yorkshire pudding is, it was made with self-raising flour and had a cake-like texture. The roast beef was quite tough, and the salmon a bit dry. The service was weird, a bit shouty at times, or completely silent, and there seems to be one spare waiter who just walked around trying to make small talk with the punters.
We went on a Wednesday for the vegan menu and the choice was great- at least 3 or 4 options each for a starter, main and dessert. I ordered beignets, burger and a brownie. All of these were delicious! Definitely recommend the burger. The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is that the service was pretty slow. The ambience has that sort of vibe though, a relaxed atmosphere, nice music etc. Just had to be somewhere else and didnt expect it to take 2 and a half hours in total! I would book here like we did before, but next time make sure I have no other arrangements in the evening.
Loved it! food was lovely, staff were really helpful and professional and place is lovely. I went for the lunch time meal and they were very accommodating with what I wanted as I dont eat certain foods. Will definatly visit on a regular basis.
Very tasty food cooked well, professional service, we only came in for the lunch menu but was still very impressed, very reasonable price for the food you are served, its not our first time and most certainly wont be the last!
Wow what an amazing place to eat... Great staff , delicious food brilliant atmosphere. I will be back with family and friends
