Persian Empire - Persian restaurant in Nottingham, United Kingdom
Great food and service. Highly recommend. Two kids, the parents and the grand parents, all loved it.We’ll done.
Im my opinion the best Iranian restaurant in the Uk. We had family visiting from Iran and they loved it so much we came twice in the week they were with us. I don’t understand the negative reviews. The prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are very generous and service always friendly and professional. Getting a table seems to be getting harder and harder which is a sign of the quality. Pre booking is advised
Friendly welcoming waitress, relaxed atmosphere, refreshingly high standard of cleanliness, and stunning flavours combined with beautifully presented dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Hidden 10% Extra on the bill!, nice food but below average drinks
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent, but make sure that you have cash because there is no machine to pay
This restaurant is an oasis in a desert of chain and fast food places in Nottingham. The food is authentic Persian cuisine perfected. Negin and Mitra our servers were very patient and helped us choose by being knowledgeable on what the taste of each dish is like. Best meal out in a long, long time.
Its very very poor Quality also expensive for no reason very pool in service I ordered a £36 deal which is I bought five kebabs different one and two rice bar they bring half a portion of rice instead two portion of rice and kebabs was very cold was very bad not good at all cost me and my wife and £50I could buy this food from Turkish restaurant for 20 or £25 and getting best quality best food decent person and nice customer serviceDon’t go to this restaurant at all and it’s not worth it no good service and very very very high price not recommended at all

If you are looking for a rich delicious meal, this is the right place to go. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the food is so delicious and the staff is quite friendly.I love the lamb neck with the dill rice, fantastic food, so delicious. The starters were very good as well, and they are well presented.I been surprised of the design of the tea pot. Overall the whole experience was very nice and we were happy to be there. I recommend them and I am looking forward to visit them again.
Great food, nice vibe, friendly service, reasonable value.Just next door to a car park so very convenient if driving in.
Great atmosphere, amazing food.
Persian Empire. Went here for a lunch. The food was nice and tasty.
Initially we booked online to come here 3 weeks ago but when we arrived there was a sign saying its closed due to technical error. We were never been emailed about this cancellation so it was a let down but we decided to give another go and finally our first visit. the food was lovely, the atmosphere was warm and cosy. The inside decoration was beautiful. The staffs were really friendly too. Deffo will be back.
Its our second visit to Persian empire, city centre Nottingham. We enjoyed food.We liked the ambiance, service and way of service of the Staff.Highly recommended.Good place to explore food...
I keep going back to this place because of how well they do Persian food. The ambience is truly unique, and really gives off a true Persian vibe. The food is just flawless. Whether you pick one of the platters or the rice dishes infused with saffron. Everything is just incredible. If there is one restaurant in Nottingham that I had to choose for the rest of my life, it would be this one.
Nice and fresh food , amazing for feeding , friendly staff
Being Arab, I’m always on the hunt for authentic Middle Eastern food. I came here for lunch and all in all, was content with the food. I ordered the lamb kofta which was nice; admittedly the lamb was a little on the dry side, and the rice lacked the signature taste I craved for. That being said, the food was value for money (you won’t break the bank here), and staff were quick to serve us.
Very delicious food both by taste and sightHighly recommendFriendly staff
Fantastic place to eat. Really enjoyed our meal yesterday. Fantastic food, excellent service and all at a reasonable price. Will definitely return here next time we in Nottingham.
Excellent place, with authentic Persian food. The Kashk-o-Bademjan (aubergine starterwas exquisite as was the Ghel-Gheli meatballs. We had fesenjoon (sweet and sour chicken with hints of walnuts and pomegranateand the Baghali polo ba Gardan (24 hour slow cooked neck of lamb on sizzling plate served with saffron rice- both were deliciously remarkable. Good waiter service, nice ambience and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again! The only down side was the kitchen was open air and close to the seating area, so all our clothes (including underwear!reeked of food smells afterwards.
Honestly, if you want to dine in with your significant other reconsider going somewhere like here. Absolutely shocking serviceAsked them to make a simple substitution for a side as a part of their set meal for two. Clarified and clarified at the ordering stage, made the waitress read it back to me a couple of times. Off she went. What comes out to the table to my surprise was an extra side that I requested to be substituted and the irony of having three portions on the table.I raised this and explained to another waitress/possibly the boss. Then she had brought out the correct side. To my surprise again they billed me extra for their own error. When I queried this the blame was put on myself for not raising it sooner, (if I had not earlier how would the correct side have gotten to the table- I thought in my head). I wasn’t going to argue over the extra money, but I have never had an experience of this sort.I have no intention of going back. I would definitely not recommend unless you are deliberately looking for a poor dining experience. If you do decide to go food is average at best. I would stay away from the lamb dishes especially the overcooked fillet which you would more than likely be chewing to the next year. Prices not the most expensive considering the location, but definitely not fair based on the quality of food, poor service and ability to mess up orders
delicious Iranian food i have ever had in uk! Very polite staff
Very nice restaurant. Lovely experience. Staff helpful and the food was delicious, will visit again.
November 2021: We were a party of 7, 6 adults and one child. First time here for us all and without a doubt would be returning. Great restaurant, excellent portions and service, my personal favorite is traditional fesenjoon, all round 5 stars. We attended again this time 5 of us and things have dramatically changed, portion size was nowhere near as it was before, rice and saffron was a lot less than last time, stew and all of our dishes were considerably less to the point it was obvious to notice. Nowhere near worth what we paid for and when we tried speaking to management, they were not available.
Highly recommended. Delicious food, and very gentle staff
Absolutely love this place, have been twice now and had my husbands 40th on 21st January 2022 and they couldnt do enough for us, the owner even bought him a Persian vodka to say happy birthday.Lovely staff, helpful and polite. They really do go all out to make you feel welcome and have a good time, the food was amazing, so worth the money and drinks reasonably priced too. We will be going back for our 3rd time on valentines day, cant wait :-)
I love this place, top quality Iranian food! After the lockdown many restaurants have gone to cheaper meat suppliers which obviously reflects on the quality of the dish overall but not with this place. They kept the quality which is very important ( at list to meI rather pay extra and eat well. Always been a massive fan of persian food, I will definitely back again. Highly recommended! Special thanks to the chef!
Excellent Iranian food! The meat was tender and perfectly grilled. Child friendly with great atmosphere. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious. Im not too familiar with Persian cuisine but now Im completely won over. I had a lamb stew with rice, and both were packed full of flavour. There was also top feedback from my friends who had a variety of different dishes. The service was first class and you got the sense that the waiter was genuinely keen for you to enjoy the food. Ill definitely return.
The service & quality of food and how it was cooked was perfect. However, adding curry to Persian food really put me off. Persian food doesn’t have curry in it. I ordered the royal kebab which for the price you pay you get a lot of food! And my partner ordered Ghormezabi and we were very disappointed as there was curry in it.I’d really recommend for the chef to stop putting curry in their food. Other than that it was great , good music too.
Excellent foodGreat AmbiencePerfect place for Dine-inMainly for Halal loversGreat collection of alcohol & Beverages
The service was great and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The atmosphere of the restaurant paired perfectly with the tasteful food overall a great place for pretty much any occasion!ps (The hummus is amazing)
What a great place! Went here before the rock opera, booked but didnt need too... Which was a shame. The staff are very humble and so very nice... just wanted to give them a hug. Theres no rush which is nice when you really want to enjoy your meal. The food was unbelievably tasty, clean (not covered in oiland well presented and the portion size was awesome. Its nice to see it being cooked. The way each little area of your plate compliments another is wonderful and the amount of meat you get is fantastic for the price.... And the persian empire lager is cracking. Also best rice Ive had in ages. Will definitely be coming back.Would really recommend.
Absolutely amazing food, cant find the words to say how delicious the meal was. Highly recommended.
Great ambience, food was good too and presentation was very well done. Food slightly on the pricer side for Persian cuisine but all-in-all, I would recommend this place.
First time trying here, great food, everything was of a generous portion and food tasted really fresh. Would highly recommend
Our first visit to a Persian restaurant, we thought the food and staff were delightful. We experienced so many different flavours and would happily come back for another meal. Highly recommended!
Very tasty and authentic food. Large portions and youll be satisfied by the portions you get for each dish. I have tried Kobideh and Pistachio Chicken in the mains. Both turned out to be awesome. And starters is a must try with the persian style bread which youre gonna love it for sure.
Best lamb chops in town 😋 good portion. Very friendly staff.Definitely will come there again 😊😋
Very tasty food served by friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated restaurant.
Fensenjoon is delcious with the rice topped with barberries. The grill (plate of kebab for twowas OK KOBEDAH was 6/10, chicken 7/10 and lamb chops 6/10 "not marinated". The salad (coleslawwas rubbish. The staff were lovely. There is student discount 10%.
Such amazing food and huge portions. Barberries are my new fave thing! Wonderful service. Covid spacing and procedures were great too.

Grills came with cooked rice and saffron.Staffs were so nice and friendly. Definitely I recommend for those who are looking for delicious grills
Great food, and a brilliant waiter who recommended some great dishes. There was an unhurried, friendly atmosphere and the waiter even checked if we wanted our mains starting during our starter or if we wanted some more time between courses. If we were local we would definetly be coming back.
Superb lunchtime meal, individual flavours, nice size portions and good value. Nice environment and friendly staff. Will definitely go again!
The best food Ive ever eaten! Sooo tasty. Highly recommend the Barg ( lamb dishthe 5 starters for £12 what a bargain. And the Persian tea lush. And you have to have the desserts. We tried 2 of them yes we are ready to pop! Staff friendly. Dont rush you at all
My first Persian restaurant visit for lunch in Nottingham. The ambience and food is good. The portions are generous and I like the traditional stews and couple of people also had grill with rice. You can choose lamb or chicken for stews. Grill chicken with rice is good. They have a lunch for £7.5. Sad thing is they dont have drinks menu.
Tasty food, nice decoration, waiter was very welcoming and attentive, ordered starter sini for 2 it was freshly made and very tasty and for main we ordered mix sini for 2 it was delicious and enough for 3 people, and rice was fluffy and tasty, good atmosphere and good food overall great experience will definitely return again
Wonderful food, some of the best Persian meat I’ve had. Service and ambience could be slightly improved seen as it’s quite expensive. However, the food and quality of presentation is definitely worth it! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and went home in a healthy food coma.
Nice interior and clean. slightly overpriced based on the quality. food is delicious. Staff are kind. Barg and rice were delicious but Shashlik was small, dry and burnt. Freshly baked bread (taftoonwas wonderful.Visited for the 2nd time. Starters are great as well as taftoon. Rice was delicious. however kebabs (bargain and koobidehwere salty and quality were below the average. As before staff are very friendly.
