Persia House Restaurant - Persian restaurant in Reading, United Kingdom
Im thrilled today with the whole experience at the Persian Palace. Delicious food, Big portions, nice service and friendly staff. The restaurant is under new management for 1 year and 4 months and everything was so positive today. We went on Saturday night and service in such busy weekend was excellent.Highly recommended.
Big portions, spacious seatings, - and most importantly- the food is SO GOOD! Tried the Soltani and highly recommends that. Definitely coming back.
Delivery times are just unacceptable (consistently around an hour and a half to central Readingand they don’t offer any compensation or apology for it either. The food is good otherwise
Honestly, this is not the real Persian kebab. It was stinky. And very salty. Not a Persian standard kebab!!! Nothing even near it!!The rice was awful too. Even the chips had the bad smell of repeated used oil. Not good at all. Did not enjoy it!! Dont recommend to anyone. Its just wasting money.😔
Highly recommend this restaurant. I took my mum for lunch today and the decor and views were beautiful, the food was so delicious and the service was excellent and so friendly. Neither of us had eaten Persian food before, and everything We had was so tasty.
Very good fresh food, very good service and environment
I thoroughly enjoyed my latest experience at the Persian Palace. Never been there before but it was on my list for some time now. There is another one in London for 15 years now. This one in Reading is fairly new with almost a year under its belt. You have a lovely view of the river from most of the tables inside. The service was very fast, drinks coming almost instantly and the food soon after. We tried the lamb chop, the house special and it didnt disappoint.Cooked to perfection, meat just melted off the bone. It was delicious but the size was too big, I couldnt finish the entire dish. A great experience. Thanks
I had ghafgazi kebab and the chicken was very delicious. Rice portion was too much for us. Price was okay, we want to try this place for another time.
One of the worst Persian restaurants I have ever tried. We took these two main dishes and they were leftovers. I don’t recommend them if you really know what the Persian kitchen is.
Great food almost to the perfection, very big portions yet delicious there is still room for improvement. The kebabs are very juicy and delicious must try.
Delicious food, brilliant service, nice and friendly staff as well as fantastic atmosphere like you are in Iran .Highly recommend.Just please add butter and onion for kebab dishes🙏
Delicious food, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere great value for money . Definitely worth to visit!
Awful experience in Reading Persian Palace. Went to celebrate a special occasion however the service was below standard and it took forever for the food to arrive and also whenever we wanted to order something we had to remind the people a number of times.
Ah wow! I llloved every moment of it! Really beautiful service. Quick service and amazing and heavenly yummy food. Perfect! Well done you guys! Eventually I found a place with generous dish size , great quality and delicious food. We will definitely be back!🥰😃😋
We had a family visitor from the US and invited him to Persian Palace. We all enjoyed it. It was a great experience, with good food, large portions, reasonable price, and remarkable customer service!! We will definitely go back again. Just wish the toilets were better maintained.
My niece and nephew had our dinner in Persian Palace last night. It was one my best experience in a Persian restaurant. The food was fantastic in quality and taste, and portions were big. The service was excellent too. It was my first time in this restaurant but definitely not the last time.
It’s beautifully situated and the food is delicious. The Barg, Chenjeh, and Koobideh kababs were tender, juicy and very tasty, and the portions are huge. Very good value for money and lovely, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Excellent Persian meal and friendly service. Delicious starters and kebabs with fresh salad and a generous portion of rice...one of the best meals we have had!
Only the bread and the rice with the seabass was good and acceptable. Other than that the food was bland and very underwhelming. The starter was not very good and would not recommend. Service lacked as well as I had to wait a while to be seated even though it was not busy.
I had dinner at Persian Palace and the food and the ambiance was good. I have been traveling to London for good Persian food but now I am glad to have found good quality food and resturant locally.
This place is wonderful. The meat is so succulent. Me and my wife came and the waitress really looked after us. The new manager also came over to introduce herself. This is a straight 10. Juicy tender and succulent meat
Amazing food and friendly/prompt service. Restaurant in a lovely setting and clean/spacious. Nicely busy with a friendly family atmosphere. Thanks
Good food, good service, generous portion, excellent location, loved the atmosphere , river view was amazing, especially as we dined on end of sunny day, just as when sun was falling❤️❤️❤️
Very good persian restaurant. Food tastes good and portion sizes are big. Right on the river bank. Nice views. Not very busy on work days evenings.baklawa was so bad. Looked like they took from a mass produced box. Definitely needs improvement for baklawa. Doogh was very tasty
Delicious food with nice views! It was our first ever visit to this restaurant recommended by a Persian colleague. Prices were high but portion size was huge per person. Starters were tasty with fresh tandoori naan. Baklava wasnt good, too dry and not upto the flavours.
Loved the food, the environment , music and decoration. Portions are really big too.
Food was good but had to wait so long just to get the menu and waited for ever to get the bill. Not enough staff when its packed which is why they couldnt cope.
Since I left iran I haven’t had a proper persian food in Uk until I visited this place. My parents loved the decorations as it was persian unique.Would highly recommend
This place needs work, we were greeted by server that was the opposite of friendly while other member of staff were friendly and helpful, then went to have a table and the first server told us we cant sit where theres view to the river as table is booked; however, we spent around an hour there later and nobody turned up for the claimed reservation noting that table did not have any indications of reservation on it.Several details didnt seem right from the cheap plastic table covers to sauce bottles served with drips on side and had the tip cut off which didnt look appetising, when food arrived mains portion was large; however, food is mediocre at best.Would give 1 star but the fresh bread and the friendly person who prepared and served it got a 2nd star
Absolutely love this place and the food my first time trying Persian food and loved the experience. Big portions of food and good variety on the menu, reasonable price, friendly staff.
Took a while to get the food but cannot complain as it was of a good quality and seemed to be freshly prepared. The waiters were well mannered and the place was nice and clean, very well maintained. Food gets an A+ from me, I would definitely recommend!
Food was delicious. Will go back again. Portions are pretty big so if you have a big appetite this is a great place to go. The restaurant was quiet around 1800 but nearly full at 2000. It had a great atmosphere I felt I was holiday! Good for large parties as you can try lots of dishes as it seems sharing would be ideal. So it would be good if you could order small plates to try lots of the different styles. We started with the aubergine and chicken dishes both were excellent. Followed by a main with chicken and lamb skewers with rice. We were so full by this time we didnt get to try the puddings. Will go again and try more of the menu!
Loved the aroma of fresh tandoori naan preparation while we enjoyed our mix grill meal 😋 Staters and our mix grill tasted amazing!
Fantastic meal there yesterday, brilliant service, extremely friendly.Marked down a star purely as portions are too big - so much food is wasted which is a shame as it was delicious 😁
Tasty and authentic food, service was ok just a shame there wasnt things like beer on tap and the drinks came served in the can with a glass on the side. Wouldve been nice if there was an option for either bread or rice with mains.
Brilliant restaurant. The food is so delicious and portions are crazy large! As a person who loves lamb shanks, this was one of the best Ive had in terms of being properly cooked and delicious. The view from the restaurant is very nice as well. Highly recommended if you are in Reading!
The view of the River Thames is magnificent while dining in The Persian Palace, it feels like you are actually on holiday! The food, service and ambiance is brilliant. Everything is served to perfection and the menu caters for all. A perfect venue to experience amazing Persian food as well everything put together to make you feel you are in Persia. We really enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this restaurant. 5 stars all the way. Thank you to the amazing staff who looked after us from the time we were seated to the time we left. I will definitely be going again.
This is hands down my absolute favourite restaurant in Reading. Food is delicious, my favourite is zereshk polow with any of the stews or kebab. Favourite soup is ash reshte. Favourite stew is fesenjan (with walnut and pomegranate). Staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable.
Went here for dinner today and it was brilliant. I normally end up at behesht or alounak in London and this place sits at the top with the best persian restaurants around. Service was brilliant, food was amazing. Tender chicken and perfectly cooked rice. The tea went down a treat after all the lovely food. Would definitely recommend and will be going back without a doubt.
Decent food, super friendly staff.Huge portions! We tried Barberry rice with Chicken, Persian Okra Stew.Meat lovers rejoice.
Delicious food and great value for money (fantastic portion sizes). We ordered the braised lamb special (pictured here), along with Persian soup (not sure if wed order this again as it was not what I was expecting, I was expecting a tomato based soup but this was more of a thick spinach and lentil soupand some freshly baked bread and garlic yogurt dip.My husband and I tend to have a hearty appetite and were sceptical if we had ordered enough but when the meal came we were very pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes.Would definitely recommend as it a great restaurant that sits right by the river. Only problem is parking as the restaurant is on the main road.
This restaurant is one of the best in Reading! The food is very nice with generous portions and good value for money! The service is fast and the staff is super friendly and nice! We even got some complimentary tea! Highly recommended
Delicious food... meat very tender and tasty.. very big portion.. very pretty presentation.. the staff was very polite and helpful.. the restaurant very clean and organised. Im from Oxford but definitely I will go to Reading just to eat there. Totally recommended.
Good food. Nice service. Bread made fresh in house. Just a little expensive for lunch. Also they need to instal baby change facilities in toilets!
I have literally just had a meal from Persia house. I am incredibly disappointed. The food had no seasoning and tastes bland. I cannot comprehend where all these 5 star reviews are coming from. It is one of the worst meals I have EVER paid for. A complete waste of money. My sister who also had a different meal which was equally atrocious. The meal in the picture cost almost £18.00.This is a genuine warning: THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE.
A well situated restaurant with good location but you have to find the parking a bit further away as it’s right on the main road. The menu is comprehensive and great variety of Persian dishes. The ambience is great with traditional Persian style and Persian music. Our food was well cooked and presented with fresh nan bread from the gas lit clay oven. The chicken and minced meat kebabs with saffron rice were delicious. The Persian non alcoholic beer was a bit stale! We were there one Thursday Lunch time. There were only four guests including us but the meal took 26 minutes to arrive. The two male staff were polite, pleasant and helpful. If you are looking for a spicy food like Indian, Pakistani, Thai or Bangladeshi then this is not the place for you. The Persian food is more aromatic and herb flavours similar to Lebanese food but not entirely Middle Eastern. The aromatic tea at the end was great.
What can I say, the restaurant has that Persian feel to it, like the name suggests, and the waiters are really nice to you.The food is good and tasty, but I am not sure it is £18 good (for basically a portion of kebab). Also they made us use the same cutlery for all courses. So overall not bad, but I wont be back for a while as I can find good kebabs less expensive.
Loved this place! Great food, the Lamb was divine, so succulent, Persian biriyani and Chicken also very good. Beautifully presented and piping hot! Beautiful restaurant decor is awesome. They also have a traditional bedouin area where you can sit in traditional style. Stunning setting by the river as well. Great service too, very kind waiters. Thank you dessert of homemade Saffron Icecream was a real treat too! Look forward to visiting again soon!
A great find! Came across this restaurant by chance and thought we would give it a try since we love Persian cuisine. Lovey ambience and views from this restaurant are simply amazing. To have a great meal and then to relax with a Persian tea was really satisfying to say the least. Really good customer service, made us feel totally welcome. Very friendly and even offered as more rice FOC if we wanted. Didnt need it as d portions were of a good size. The grilled chicken was fantastic and so were d lamb chops. I felt the lamb fillets (bargcould have been better - maybe a bit more softer and flavoursome but the rest were good. Will definitely recommend the Persian tea - a must have!
Amazing place, I went there yesterday for my birthday. By far the best restaurant we have in Reading. Food was lush staff were efficent and friendly. Really liked that they had the option of a floor seating area and extra washing facilities in the bathroom. Definitely a great place also a place where you can take your children. Looking forward to going back there 😊
