Kid-friendly chain known for baked goods, breakfasts & other American standards in dinerlike digs.
Food was lovely, celebrating for Ants birthday, with family.
Visited Perkins for the first time last Saturday evening. Oh my goodness, what a find! I like good food and I would go as far as to say that its the best food Ive ever tasted. We all had something different from the menu and every dish across every course was blummin lovely. I have never tasted gravy like Perkins gravy. At £38 for 3 courses it was a bargain and I cant wait to go again. The staff were so friendly and attentive, really felt like a valued customer. Just wish it wasnt dark when we came out, its in beautiful grounds and would have liked to have had a look at the accommodation available too. Thank you Perkins, keep doing what you are doing, its perfect.
My Son and Daughter in Law gave both my wife and I a voucher for Christmas back in 2020. However due to lockdown we didn’t manage to book to visit this establishment. The time has now come and we eventually visited and had a tremendous experience at Perkins. The initial reception and customer service was excellent. The food was first class and so enjoyable. I have been fortunate to dine at other restaurants in the area but, Perkins are an extremely hard act to follow….I would most certainly recommend this place for that “special place” to book and go to.
Absolutely five stars for this one. Excellent attentive staff, fabulous food and lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
What can I say about this place that would do it justice? The whole evening was perfect, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, the Bistro is a beautiful setting and the food was probably one of the best meals we have ever eaten... it felt the perfect setting to ask my wonderful lady to be mine forever... and luckily she said yes... At £38 per head for a Saturday Evening, 3 course plus Amuse Bouchè, it is very good value considering the quality of the food.Thank you to Perkins for a fantastic evening. We cant wait to come back.
We sat outside and enjoyed a drink till everybody arrived. Inside we were well looked after and between us ordered the chicken, beef and pork Sunday roasts. I had the pork which was both tender and moist with a nice portion of crackling on top. There were six very empty plates after we had finished. A lovely moist sicky toffee pudding rounded of the meal nicely.Great food, attentive staff and a lovely setting has to be five stars.
A small but interesting bar restaurant built in a disused railway station. The line is still occaisionally used as a testing track for London underground trains but is of interest not a nuisance. The food is first class. Lunches on a daily basis except Mondays and full dinners at night. Bar facilities are available separately with outside tables, at the front of the building there are great views across the fields to Normanton on the Wolds.Well recommended
Putting this here as a reminder to come back after a whistle stop coffee. Hidden gem that clearly many people have frequented since the 1980’s yet unknown to us.Will definitely be back
Wonderful evening in lovely setting. Food hot and beautifully presented. Excellent choice and all very different wonderful change from the normal.pub grub. Staff excellent and very attentive. Will be back soon
Excellent food, good service and a very nice ambience
Fantastic food and service as always.
Lovely food service and atmosphere
Such a pleasure to return to Perkins Restaurant. I used to visit regularly before the Pandemic.I came with 2 friends and we were just as pleased with the venue. The food is amazing and served so pleasantly by the staff. The venue was years ago the Plumtree railway station and the ambiance is great. So so good to be back. Thank you.
Beautiful location and interior, amazing food and really friendly staff! Cant recommend enough
Gorgeous location, the place is so quaint inside and is perfect. We went here for an after graduation meal and the food was lovely and the service was quick. The girls who served us were so friendly, I would recomend this to anyone visiting Nottingham its a little drive out of the centre of town but well worth the journey.
Good choice of food, excellently cooked and served.
Well, was out and looking for somewhere for lunch. Google came up trumps!A fabulous setting, stylish and a great ambience. We had the Sunday menu, so cant talk about the rest but the roast was first class. The veg was crisp and the Yorkshire puddings were to die for.The staff were friendly, happy and helpful. Would happily go again 👍🤓
Good service, friendly, welcoming. Had meal with family and enjoyed the food and atmosphere
Always excellent. Good food, good service excellent value lunch menu.
Good service but the menu doesnt reflect what is served, I would have expected the staff to say if something is changed for something else. For example I expected samphire and clams in my main course and I had no clams and samphire was changed for something else
Very nice place - restaurant in an old Railway Station! Great food and very lovely staff! They also have a Carriage Hall on the same site which they host Weddings ! Would definitely recommend and look forward to go again!
We did the annual Burns night evening at Perkins and as always the food was fantastic and the service just wonderful. Really enjoyed the pipers too.
Lovely atmosphere. Thought some vegetables could have been provided with steak, as it only came with a few cherry cherry, 6 chips and half a mushroom!!
Lovely food, wine list, atmosphere and service. Would highly recommend!
Had a lovely lunch. Onion Tarte Tartin was very tasty. Friendly staff and good service. Recommended.
Beautiful food in stylish & comfortable venue. Staff always very attentive polite & welcoming
A very enjoyable Saturday lunch at Perkins with the family, and there was a really nice festive atmosphere with attentive helpful staff. Lovely food, although there is a slightly limited choice of mains for vegetarians. Dessert was a wonderful pannetone bread and butter pudding. We have been before, and will definitely go again.
Had a brilliant stay here in The Great Oak hut. With an amazing 3 course meal and house bottle of wine. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The stay in the hut was very cosy and warm. We had a relaxing bath and chilled for the rest of the evening after our dinner. Got up the following morning to go for our traditional English breakfast which was all top quality meats along with plenty of coffee and orange juice. Perfect place for a relaxing get away weekend. Trish the Manager there was so friendly and helpful and made our stay incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you Trish for your warming welcome.Highly recommend to everyone. A***
I havent been here for decades! It was brilliant. Loved the welcoming atmosphere, the friendliness & the food was fab. The chefs definitely knew what they were doing. Not too ambitious menu, which meant that the food could be cooked to its best. They even picked up on a birthday in the group & acknowledged it. Thank you, well be back, especially over the Christmas period. It all looks very inviting.
Lovely setting and wonderfully diligent service from the friendly service staff. Food and wine is lovely and a good selection. Menu is regularly updated and the staff are very knowledgeable. Parking is simple and easy for taxis too.
We had our wedding reception here eight years ago and we always try to visit around each anniversary. We visited again tonight and as always it was wonderful. From the food to the service it cannot be faulted. I look forward to coming back next year.
Lovely premises - we were at a wedding so not eating in the bistro but in the Carriage Shed. Fabulous venue. Also shepherds huts for guests. Highly recommended!
A lovely experience. The Bistro was cool and airy with loads of space between diners. All the staff wore mssks or visors in line with covid rules. We were welcomed by several members of staff in a very friendly manner, which was lovely, and seated, given menus and told she would return to take our order presently. The food came promptly with just the right amount of time between courses. The food was presented beautifully and was hot and delcious. We enjoyed each course, and finished with a coffee and cream, which was delivered with a mini flapjack, which was moist and lovely. All three courses, including coffee & flapjack was under £60, which we thought very reasonable for such an enjoyable meal. We sat for a while after our meal, and were not rushed at all into leaving. Will definitely be returning.
Booked for this evening as it is my wifes birthday. we were met at the door by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to our table and settled us in. We found that all the staff were very attentive. The food we ordered was exceptional but the starter of heritage tomato, mozzarella and basil bruschetta was out of this world. All in all we had a fantastic evening and cant wait to return.Well done every one and thank you for making our evening so special.
We eat here regularly at lunch time. Last night I had dinner, and let me tell you it was beautiful! The steak was amazing! It melted in my mouth and the sauce was incredible! I still cannot stop thinking about that steak and how much I want to eat it again! Thank you so much!
Very nice place! We were originally somewhat disappointed at the forced 3-course set price and only 1 vegetarian main (when the example menu had 2but they were very accommodating and offered £5 off for 2-courses and also offered us an alternative vegetarian main! The wonderful service and incredible food absolutely deserves 5-stars!
Been a few times. Sometimes good and sometimes excellent. Perhaps dependent on the chef working. Service is always first rate.Visited shortly after lockdown lifted (July 20and it was amazing. Beautiful food that looked and tasted amazing. Very high standards of hygiene and staff are all using PPE. They are set up in the Carriage Hall and theyve done it out really nicely. You can book here with absolute confidence - you should support this amazing business.
Went for a friends birthday meal Saturday night. Despite us being a loud group of 13 the staff were awesome and atentative. The food quality was amazing and everyone commented on how good the food was from the duck breast, steak, and even cod. Highly recommended.
Lovely expense here for my birthday last year. Been meaning to go again and we will when we find the time. Great food and very reasonable on price.
Always good for a special meal. We come birthdays and anniversaries. Great restaurant, lovely staff and great food. Highly recommended.
Fantastic birthday meal for 12 people (mix oldies, adults and kids). Excellent service, very friendly and not rushed. Cocktails to start were great too. Recommend!
My girlfriend and I had a superb lunch today as a walk in. we were initially told the place was fully booked (for good reasonbut the waitress Ellie kindly sorted out a table for us. The food was outstanding (honestly outstanding!), very reasonably priced considering and all the staff who served us were brilliant. A really great setting and decor adds to the atmosphere and we will certainly be visiting again (and booking). Faultless. A real gem. Highly recommended. Thank you!
Lovely family birthday meal. Fixed menu pre ordered, all courses arrived on time and were delicious. Lovely place and staff. Own car park with lots of room. Lovely building and decor. Would recommend. I had the steak and it was delicious. Kids menu available with lots of choice and quality options.
A fantastic dining experience. Food and service second to none. Will be coming back
Great ambience, excellent food and efficient staff. Compared to other eating places this is top class. My only minor criticism was the small amount of mince meat in the mince pies, hence the score of 4
I have been here several times and it really is going from strength to strength. The Menu was varied and interesting with improved ways of presentation and taste. The Staff are very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed a very relaxed and informal meal with time allowed for digestion and conversation. The wines were well chosen and tasty. Altogether a very enjoyable celebratory Birthday lunch.
A lovely evening in a really nice venue. We enjoyed the 6 course Taste the Season menu for £26 each. Staff were attentive and friendly.Would happily return and would also recommend this restaurant.
This is a really reliable restaurant for good food and service. Theres plenty of parking, the setting is beautiful, the staff are lovely, and the place is always rammed - make sure you book! Im a vegetarian, and I tend to find the menu options arent very imaginative and dont change often enough to make it worth visiting frequently, but my family are carnivores and love the Sunday lunch, which is much more reasonably-priced than some of the standard menu options. In general Id say the food doesnt quite justify the price, particularly the veggie and fish options, but for a safe bet meal, and especially for a special occasion, Perkins is well worth a visit.
Fantastic food and service. First time visit here and we will definitely be back. Food was to die for, had 3 courses and didnt feel bloated after.
Worth traveling to this little gem in plumtree friendly staff food very reasonable for a mitchelling star
