Perhaps one of the best restaurant in NYC. Very consitent dishes and i think the wow dish is the cheese court. Price is definitely on the higher end but worth a try

Ive been to several fine dining, tasting menu restaurants and this ranked among the best. One stand out was the ability for my guest and I to select different dishes from each other throughout the tasting. Everything was perfectly balanced and cooked. My favorite dish was the simplest: buttered noodles with truffles. Dessert covered the table. An all around fantastic meal and the hospitality was incredibly gracious. A perfect way to celebrate a special birthday (November 2021).

This was definitely an experience. Amazing service. Great wine tasting and the food was definitely what you expect from Michelin star ⭐️ x3!!!The food was amazing - caviar to amazing desert. Each flavor built up to the next level. Nothing was missed except for the $ in your wallet but it is to be expected. Rightfully so experienced costs money and this was definitely something to have atleast once :)Keep it up … looking forward to Per Se again ;)

Nice- Very accommodating to 30+ min late reservation (but don’t do it)- Nice views of central park- Good wine recommendations- Non-pretentious dining staff except the man who told us we were late with a mean faceSide comments- Don’t go if you’ve been to French Laundry — pre-entrees and supplements are mostly the same- Classic, quality cuisine but predictable tastes- Salty meaty dishes- 4th floor of a mall- Had a bug in my wine and they didn’t do much about it besides bring me a new glass.

Impeccable, but, I prefer French Laundry mainly because I felt like is was just copied over to New York. Now dont get me wrong, it was amazing but I would have loved to visit Per Se in the winter and sat near that huge fireplace overlooking a snow covered city. So how about this, go to French Laundry in the summer, visit Per Se in the Winter and live your best life! There is one two top that has a bench sit. Make sure you dont sit here. The bench is remarkably uncomfortable, although it does provide a great view of the dining room and city. you just have to sit upright the entire time when we want to relax the most.

What an experience and the testing menu being amazing. Since this was they opening, I got to meet the head chef where he introduced the ingredients of what the food will be made off. The customer service was top notch, I have no idea how they remember everything and so many people involved making sure that everything goes smoothly. The food was delicious, had so many things since this was a testing menu that I didn’t even take all the pictures. The experience is one of the kind and for sure I would recommend this restaurant but make sure that you have cash for it :)

The first time we came was before Covid and this was the best meal we ever had. The second time we came was November 2020 and the food was delicious but certainly not an $1800 meal. If the quality can’t hold up they should consider adjusting the price. The Sommelier’s choices were outstanding.

Amazing experience celebrating my husband’s birthday! The outstanding service started before we even got there when the restaurant reached out to confirm the details for our night (what we were celebrating, dietary / food preferences). He had the regular tasting menu. I had the vegetarian tasting menu which they were also able to do Gluten Free for me. It was an incredible experience for me to actually have original, delicious and thoughtful GF veg options curated for my courses. All of the courses were outstanding for both of us. The servers are extremely knowledgeable and professional. The som was very knowledgeable on different wines and vintages and even shared some drinking tips for wines we have at home. I did read some of the lower star reviews in advance and have to say I actually felt like the price for the tasting pp for the experience and service level was what we expected and neither of us left hungry. (On the way out, we were able to get a sneak peak at the kitchen and I have never seen such a clean kitchen and impeccable staff all working together!). Looking forward to celebrating another special occasion here!

Been here twice and the service remains fantastic. The food was great with the exception of the lamb we had the second time, which tasted a bit bland. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Visited July 29, 2022, first time. The 9-course meal was outstanding. The dishes are everything you would imagine reading about Per Se - 5 Google stars, 3 Michelin stars, no question. We spent $2100 for 4 people - tasting menu, 3 bottles of wine, no supplements. There were three things about the experience that detracted from our experience, resulting in my lower Google rating.1. On the window overlooking Columbus Circle, directly in our line of sight, was an enormous 3-pronged, 4 foot wide, splash of birdshit. It could not be ignored. I get that birds do that, but I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber a means of cleaning windows on the fly or seating parties away from this kind of eyesore.2. Expecting a prix fixe wine pairing to be available, noted in various places online as $150 basic and (I think$295 or so for deluxe. Alas, it was not on the menu at the time we went. We inquired with the sommelier. He said a pairing was not available but that he could select the correct wines to go with the courses, by the bottle. He said he could "do something for up to $30,000". The "negotiations" that followed were uncomfortable for us all. We expected to pay a lot and are not stingy, but are not millionaires either. Theres no better way to say this, but the sommelier was condescending. It was an unpleasant interaction. We all frowned, made to feel like lower-class humans. 3 bottles for $700, and the wine was excellent.3. This is a little thing, but had me weighing the experience against another Michelin starred restaurant weve been to, where we had one server, got to know him, he got to know us, and really made the experience special. At Per Se, the service was immaculate. Courteous, organized, friendly. No complaints about anyone. However, almost every course was presented by a different person, quite likely by design. It did have kind of a regal vibe to it. The thing is that by seeing a constant rotation of servers, I could never connect with any of them. Like if you were in the hospital and had a different nurse every hour, even if they were all great, itd be confusing. Maybe just personal preference, but it impacted the experience for me.The ultimate review of any restaurant is: would I go back? For the food alone - yes. For the experience as a whole - no.

Per Se is an iconic New York restaurant by The French Laundry’s chef, Thomas Keller. It doesn’t disappoint: the appetizers, cheeses and desserts from the tasting menu are some of the best food we’ve ever had in New York. I’d highlight the impeccable oysters with caviar, the tomato and heart of palm salad, the cheese pastry with truffles, the chocolate chai pudding, and the cappuccino ice cream. The view from the tables is gorgeous. Service is also top notch and delightfully friendly (feels like you’re not on Manhattan - chuckles). We just weren’t as impressed with the meat dishes - the crab pierogi was good, but not mouth-dropping; the chicken was the best of the three, but still not awe inspiring; and the lamb prime rib tasted blander and less tender than we hoped.I’m giving 4/5 stars only because, when you pay this high a price for a meal, my expectations are that every step of it will be moving and memorable. This was the case with a good part of the menu, but far from all of it. Still worth the visit, in my opinion!

Mr Bourdain will continue to influence the culinary world forever! We went here based on his 13 places to eat before you die, and once again I was not disappointed. It was expecting something similar to La Bernadine but it was totally different. Different style of service, a complete prix fix menu with some alternate "buy ups" which we didnt opt for. Service was top notch, and each dish was as exciting as the last. Glad we crossed this off the food bucket list. Very $, but its what you pay for, for quality art.

We visited this restaurant several times in the past and always were amazed by the level of sophistication and professionalism from every single member of this fine establishment but this time was different - a reservation was initially inadvertently made to their "salon" seating but it was important for us to allow our friends to experience the unforgettable experience of the Main Room. Knowing the extreme difficulty of changing such reservation I was ready to either cancel or reschedule our outing but called the restaurants Maitre d and asked them to do their best to accommodate a possible switch to the Main Room. Amazingly enough, they were very understanding and found us a table. Our friends and we ended up having an amazing evening which culminated with a tour of their famously spotless kitchen! This restaurant continues to maintain its stellar reputation and we are extremely fortunate to have such a culinary treasure in our city. Thank you, Per Se!

Worst Michelin Star experience to date. After telling the server and making a note on our reservation about my wife’s shellfish allergies. She got served shellfish, not once, not twice but THREE times! There were other things about the experience that were subpar for any high end restaurant, let a lone a 3 star Michelin. We were there May 9th, 2022. It might have been good at some point but definitely not any more.

the service was good, but the food is EXTREMELY outdated and utterly unexciting and COMPLETELY uninspired. i dont feel as if it was a 3 michelin restaurant. if you cook great at home, 100000% you eat better at home.the tiniest portions of the most basic foods/flavour combos. cooked extremely basic. extreme use of garlic/ fat to cover up the lack of creativity and stinginess at this restaurant.everything tasted the same, either had strong garlic flavours, or was very creamy/rich.this restaurant is the equivalent to beating a dead horse. needs a complete culinary revamp or needs to shut down. anything else is just a money grab. i went because i dont know how long this restaurant group can keep this up. it feels like its on the verge of dying.

I went with my family of four to celebrate my Wifes 50th Birthday. We enjoyed the 10 course tasting menu. Three were vegetarian and mine was with protein. The food was delicious, plating was spectacular and courses came out unrushed. There were multiple servers and a sommelier who were all very attentive and responsive. However, the finesse of the servers was inconsistent as some servers were meticulous while others spilled coffee, were not gentle when placing plates and splashed water during pouring. When I made the reservation I specifically told the restaurant about the special occasion and gave the spelling of my wifes name. They assured me that the pastry chef would make something special for dessert with her name on it but somehow, this did not get translated and was missed during the final dessert course. We realized this when the head waiter was wrapping up the evening. When I mentioned the 50th Birthday (for the second time that eveninghe asked, "did I miss something?" Then he vanished for quite some time, I assume to look for a resolution. To their credit, they did try their best by plating a second presentation of desserts including a small white lemon mousse with a candle, as well as a signed menu from the chef and a extensive tour of the kitchen. The overall experience, food and service was lovely for our family and celebration despite the oversight on the birthday. While these things do happen occasionally and the staff did their best to recover quickly, it is hard to justify when this happens at a Michelin star restaurant with a hefty price tag.Consistency for any restaurant is a big part of the experience, from the greeting to the final goodbyes. Unfortunately, at a high level restaurant, this should be seamless and predictably perfect. In reading many reviews after our experience their seem to be some similar concerns.

Very memorable for the wrong reasons. My wife and I had an anniversary dinner at Per Se. We had no issues with the food which was good but not great. But we experienced several issues which would be unacceptable at an Outback Steakhouse - let alone a 3 star Michelin restaurant and a bill of $1100 for two.The first and most appalling issue was that a couple dining one table away, had TWO DOGS with them, in the dining room. Not only were the dogs at the table, one was sitting in a guests lap, eating ice cream off a spoon. Then one of the dogs started barking. I could not believe that our anniversary dinner was being interrupted by barking dogs eating off the table, and that the staff was accommodating this nonsense. We had a late reservation and so by the time we observed this, these patron were on the last course, so theyd clearly been in the restaurant for a couple of hours. Per Se should be ashamed to have tolerated this and shown no concern for the experience of every other patron.Next, the bathrooms were dirty, with urine on the ground and paper towels crumpled on the ground. Maybe I entered right after some other patron left it untidy, but I used the same bathroom a full hour later, and it looked the same (actually worse, with even more towels on the ground). A fast food restaurant is more diligent about cleaning restrooms on a schedule than Per Se was during our visit.Lastly, the service was good but not great and not at the standard of this class of restaurant. We were contacted in advance and requested the vegetarian menu. After being seated, our server gave us the normal chefs menu and reviewed all those, wrong dishes. We then asked if they had our request for vegetarian menus, and they did. So we start over with the correct menu. As we departed, we saw no staff and no hostess - and as we went for the front door someone comes running after us, asking if we are leaving. We are halfway out the door and say, yes, and then we are told they wish to give us a personalized menu and treat. Another 5 seconds and they would have been chasing us thru the mall. Both of these are examples of staff that is just not executing at the level of this class of restaurant.Photos of the dogs and bathroom (one hour apartare included. I tried to contact the restaurant privately but there is no contact info on the website, so I have no option except to post as a public review.Weve also dined at Eleven Madison, Le Bernardin, Daniel, etc... and had great experiences. We are disappointed and dismayed at the experience we had at Per Se.Now the question is, do we contact the health department? Not the type of question you should consider after a $1100 meal for two.

Great service, as it couldnt be otherwise. All the waiters are very nice and knowledgeable. The ambience is also quite nice. I personally dont like restaurants with strict dress codes, but they were relatively flexible (I wore a nice shirt and a modern vest, no jacket, shoes and regular pants). The food is quite good, although it didnt strike me as surprising (some other restaurants with less Michelin stars surprised me more, especially in Europe). But its good. The deserts were quite good, and they have a good selection of teas (very cheap, surprisingly!).At over $400/person, its probably the priciest restaurant I have been to. Im not sure why in a menu with this price there are price supplements (+$30 for foiegrass seemed really odd, +$100 for japanese wagyu), but its nice that service is included (tips would be insane here!). I personally found the wine menu unreasonably priced, and opted for getting a cocktail at $25/drink, because I couldnt make up my mind about the wines. Then again, its NYC, with views at Central Park, and with 3 Michelin stars. It doesnt get more luxurious than that, and the prices are reasonable consideting restaurant prices in the USA. It just doesnt compare well with similar or better restaurants in other countries. My favorites were the "oysters and pearls" and the "prime rib of elysian field farm lamb". The duck foigrass was also delicious, of course, and I also really liked the gougère with aged comté cheese and black truffles. The deserts were very fullfilling but good.Taking into account the above, I would recommend it as a nice experience if you are in NYC and have big pockets. But I probably would not do the trip on purpose to come here.

WARNING: FOOD POISONING-DIARRHEAMy friends and I, all three of us experienced DIARRHEA and mild ABDOMINAL PAIN after the meal. We are very disappointed because this shouldn’t happen at any restaurant regardless of whether it’s a fine dining or not.I cannot believe my very first review is to write about this. Given the price, I have expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant, but I’m not a picky person.Food: the food is in general good, not really impressive compared to the other Michelin starred restaurants in the city (I’m a foodie and I have tried most 3 & 2 stars)Let-downs: for the dish add-on, we ordered wagyu and foie gras. We thought it’s in addition to the main courses they serve, but apparently they substituted them. If you want to try the original chefs tasting menu, do NOT order add-on. Some other restaurants would add truffle, wagyu, etc as an actual “add-on”, so I’m pretty surprised to see they just substituted them. The waiter also forgot to mention the price of add-on, but this is a relatively minor issue.Services: 4-stars, standard Michelin star service - minus one star for being slow and not as attentive (waited very long to order wine, and first few courses were relatively slow)

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. Every single dish was extremely delicious. This beats Le Bernardin by far in my view. For $315 pp with gratuity included, I would say this is well priced for the quality of food you get. There are also multiple supplements you can add to your tasting menu for extra cost.I highly recommend getting the seared foie gras supplement. The seared foie gras is much tastier than the slow poached one. The flavor is explosive and was probably one of my most favorite dishes of the night. Also be prepared for a firework ending burst of desserts.

Have been hearing people talking about it a lot, and finally had a chance to dine in there for my 10th anniversary in NYC. I must say it was an unforgettable experience, the food tastes great and no single ingredients are the same in their 9 courses and multiple desserts. Customer service is A+, especially the guy whose name is Igor, he made our experience at Per Se even better!! Will definitely come back again. The restaurant also gave us some cookies and the menu for our memories. Also, saw some article saying that they are raising their price to $800 per person, I would highly recommend people go there sooner than later.

The well-known Per Se is located in the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. It is a combination of modern American and French cuisine. As the most famous three-star Michelin restaurant in New York, Per Ses status has never been shaken. Someone said: "If you havent eaten at Per Se in New York, dont say you have been to New York."As a New York lover, I visited New York many times, I definitely visited Per Se. Per Se gives me a real 3-star Michelin feeling, from the foods, service, and the environment. In addition, after the meal, I got a chance to visit its kitchen: it’s an unbelievable spotless kitchen. I also got a box of home-made cookies and a box of home-made chocolate when I leave. Absolutely recommend. It’s costly, but it worth the money for such a great experience. Love the presentation, love the food. The service was definitely great, sommelier knows his wine (as he should). I was surprised the restaurant wasnt at a more secluded setting, being on the 4th floor of the Time Warner shopping center is a good location, just a little crowded when you are all dressed up for a Michelin three-star experience and rubbing shoulder with tourists on flip flops coming up the escalator. But the experience itself is great.

Such a beautiful experience as always. Moist, soft but firm and tasty chicken Pate like dish. The beef strip slices were amazing. Almost like pastrami but so much better. Scallop was more firm in texture than I would like but such juiciness and caramelized flavors. The salmon cornettes and oysters & pearls dish are the best things there. Can have 10 of those each. A truly exceptional experience. I’ve been to several 3 Michelin starred restaurants, and this might be my favorite. The food, service, and atmosphere is top notch and would HIGHLY recommend visiting. Making reservations as advanced as possible is what I would highly recommend as the restaurant is usually fully booked 1+ months out. I also recommend all of the supplements on the tasting menu. I will be returning soon!
