Peppa's Cool Spot - Bar & grill in Falmouth, Jamaica
I loved the food and the environment. Its a great place to relax. My server seemed to be new and in training but everything else was great.
Food was okay and servers were friendly. Time to get drinks could be a little better and food took a while but the time of day may have played a factor in the wait time.
Nice spot even though service isnt the best and the food isnt the greatest but the ambiance is nice and the staff there really try to put out their best. Ive been there twice and Id go again.
Shoutout my man Pepper family owned business, the food is on point and the views are one of the best in mobay!! PLEASE COME AND VIST!!
I heard about Peppa’s and all I heard was good things. I finally got to try it and man, they’d didn’t lie. The service was I received was very good. My server checked in to make sure all was well. The appetizers had my taste buds wanted more. I had the quesadilla and the stamp and go. I then. moved on to the curried goat and roti and I was well pleased. I tried the mango daiquiri and I liked it. The coleslaw was very tasty and my palette enjoyed the mixture. As the name suggests, it’s a cool spot, a hidden gem.Worth the experience.
I visited this gem while out in Montego Bay Jamaica. It was a outdoor space on the hills but there was coverings hung. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful . I ordered the escovitch fish with veggies and I was even able to pick out my own fish for them to cook. My friend ordered the chicken and shrimp roti with plantains and both of our dishes were good. So we dined while watching the Jamaican sun set.
Me and my wife went for dinner on Saturday Oct 1 2022 my wife orderd curry goat and mash potato it was good. I ordered steam fish and fried green plantains when the order came the fish was spoiled after I told my server she take it and ask if she could offer me something else I take the curried goat and mash potatoes the goat was good but the mash potatoes was spoiled. After I ask for my bill they over charge me for the drink my wife take and when I point it out to the server she went and change it and came back with the bill higher than the previous bill when I check they now add the mash potatoes I get with the curried goat. I then ask her why do I have to pay for the mash potatoes she said I would have to talk to the supervisor because I eat it. Went to the supervisor she said I eat the mash potatoes (which I didnt because it didnt taste rightso I have to pay for it. I pay and left but it was a horrible experience I always recommend my guest to go there but I wont anymore and I will never return.
Excellent getaway from the resort getaways. Authentic Jamaican food in an outdoor setting. I’ll definitely visit this spot next time I’m in Jamaica.
Beautiful view with great food! My first time having oxtails and really enjoyed them!
Place was pretty. Needed some kind of netting/ fly trap for the bugs while trying to eat. Brown stew sauce horrible. Had the fish well fried and seasoned but needed gravy for the dry food.Drinks were pretty and tasty.
Nice location if you don’t want to be downtown MoBay. Good variety, nice atmosphere. Sometimes service a little slower than normal. Oxtail, ribs and sample platter is good just to make a few.
Very nice atmosphere. Our server Marcia was super sweet. Food was good and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.
This place was recommended by our hotel staff. I got the oxtail and my partner got the curry stew. All in all it was all very flavourful. The servers were nice and accommodating. We enjoyed dining here.
Great little local spot in Montego Bay Jamaica. The vibe was cool. The food was average and the experience and service was okay. The server does take you to pick your own red snapper in the kitchen. We order brown stew fish and curry goat
The food was really fresh 😋.They only accept local money, no credit cards
Food is lovely, lightening is beautiful at night, needs more ambiance, more comfortable chairs and insect repellent, get that done and we have something incredible here
Food was great!!! I had brown stew fish with festival and fry bammy. I enjoyed every bite
Everything we had was delicious ! Oxtail jerk chicken and baby ribs + ripe plaintain and festival. Nice location! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and always come back :)
Ok spot for good had to wait a little before we got our food. Serving was small
Listen the vibe here was very very nice I enjoyed the food and drinks the set was a little slow but it was definitely a packed night. My oxtails were so good the wait didn’t matter.
I have dined here several times. Service is generally good. The setting is nice. The ambiance is good. The music clean and volume acceptable. You may experience long wait times on a weekend night though. Got our order taken about 50 minutes after arrival. No water to sip on in the meantime. Several tables got served before ours even though we were seated long before them. These were notably larger groups. It was just two of us.Still like the spot though but an earlier arrival on the weekend may give a better experience.
Ordered the sample platter for appetizer and the wings were extremely salty, then ordered the ribs and jerk pork for main course and the jerk pork were also extremely overly salty and the seasoning was very strong as if they rubbed it on after it was done. Service was also very slow we waited a long time to get served each time we were to get something else. The whole experience was disappointing.
I ordered brown stewed fish. My friends chose the steamed fish and after one taste, I switched my dish with one of my friends. It was delicious!!
This place came highly recommended by multiple locals so we had to check it out. The oxtail here is our of this world! We also had the jerk pork which was really good but prefer the one from The Pork Pit. Would definitely come back.Taxi ride from hotel was $15 USD each way (so $30 total which seems a bit steep considering the restaurant is less than 5 minutes away)Theres karaoke, good ambiance and delicious food!
The good part is that it has a decent somewhat rustic vibe. And our hostess and server were pleasant...Ordering a Caesar salad is not complicated. Romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, parmesan and fresh croutons... When you order a salad you want the whole plate to be filled with said salad...twas not... It was a very sad salad, a half chicken breast that was barely seasoned with salt and pepper, not romaine lettuce and very stale croutons. My fiances steak was unfortunately chewy and the mashed potatoes had absolutely no seasoning. And on top of that the french fries were obviously fried in old oil because it tasted like old oil and it was burnt. Not even salt was added to it!What was also unfortunate, is when a customer dislikes a drink and does not drink it and asks for it to be changed thats common business practice to change the drink and not charge them for both drinks. I have never in my life of travel been to a restaurant and refused the opportunity to change my drink because of not enjoying it at first sip. I was told management does not allow it.Theres no care or flavor added to any of the food served here. And for being a so-called hidden gem it falls very short. The food here definitely would put a bad representation of what Jamaican chefs and cuisine can accomplish. Even though the two of us not ever returning may not impact your business, but I will never suggest this place to my guests.I do hope that the quality improves in the future because I want all businesses to succeed.
Peppas have an outdoor experience and a semi-indoor experience. The food was good. The staff was warm but can improve their approach to customer service. While dining, I had encountered flies. Great arrangement and clean bathrooms. Swing in the late evening.
A Huge disappointment. The food was not flavorful and the chicken was not cooked through. Asked for the manager was told he was sleeping. Wife came over and was beyond rude. No common courtesy for our group of 4. No apology. Just full on attitude. We didn’t want to start an argument like what she was trying to cause. Shut us up each time we want to say something. We just wanted to let them know our experience wasn’t going well and we would love to come back again so we just stated what we didn’t like. We did not eat the food!!!! I am very disappointed. Came all the way from kingston and that was what we got. Never again Peppas. Do better for your loyal customers because you guys have a large following. Do better!!!! We personally just will not be returning.
The food was very good excellent service… the shrimp was a bit salty but the meal was good
Giving this spot a 3.6. Came for lunch to enjoy good food and the view. Nice spot for the most part. Feels a little like a tree house restaurant. Ordered lobster pasta and was looking forward to my meal. Unfortunately, couldnt enjoy any of it, we were swarmed with flies. Couldnt even capture a decent photo. There was nothing our waitress could do. After a few small bites, we asked for a to-go bag. A bit pricey, my pasta was just okay. Management, please do something about the insect problem.
Always delicious AND staff is the BEST! Even on a busy night you will NOT be disappointed.
Food is fine but please DO NOT DINE-IN. Either do take-out or delivery. Terrible service and attitude from the servers. Curry goat tasted fine but let me tell you, the servers take forever to serve and even longer to give you the bill. I asked for the bill a total of 5 times before I had to walk up to the front to ask for it. I came mid-day with 3-4 other tables and four other servers working. This is unacceptable even for Jamaica.
good food which kept us coming back. The Dine-in looks very nice but it can get a bit crowded. we tried lots of different meals and were never disappointed. It is a bit pricy Id say but the drinks (botteled water or other drinksare cheap. They also offer cakes which are very delicious and worth the price for sure!
This is a hidden gem, we found out about Peppa’s from our driver. He highly recommended we try the food there. We were a little hesitant while driving to the location, only because it’s in a residential neighborhood and do not look like there’s an restaurant there. But when we arrived it was a beautiful setup, side of a hill view overlooking the neighborhood was amazing, the bar was build around this huge tree it’s real cool. The waitress was friendly and patient, as for the place it is really cozy, the music was so melodic makes you just want to stay and relax. The portions was excellent and tasted delicious, we enjoyed refreshing tropical drinks as we were served freshly caught Red Snappers, Oxtails, Stew Pork and a couple of triangular shape fried Yucca (CassavaDelicious!!
Service was good. Went on Fathers Day so the place was busy but our server kept us up to date with the status of our order. The chicken sandwiches could have more meat - on the menu, it mentions chicken breast, but its actually a thin slice of processed chicken breast. I expected actual meat. Vibe and atmosphere are nice, but need more covering from the sun. Fans outside would also be a game changer. A cooling system is needed in Jamaicas heat and humidity
Our server Joseph was exceptional! Fried fish was great!
The food was delicious! Everything we ordered was great!
So we get there at around 10: 45 about 15 minutes before they begin taking orders for the day. We wanted to sit near the flowers on the far side of the restaurant. We were told we could not and the young woman sat us in the middle. Okay, fine, it really didnt matter too much where we sat.Another family arrived 10 minutes after us and the same woman who sat us in the middle took their order shortly after they sat down. She didnt even ask us what we wanted to drink! The people who arrived after us also received their food before us. We kept telling the waitress that two of us had a plane to catch and that we needed to hurry and leave before 12pm. It seemed like we were being ignored. There were only two families in the restaurant to wait on so I cant blame it on she has so many tables to wait on and shes overwhelmed. Perhaps she had a lot going on in her personal life. When we received our food, it was 10 minutes until 12pm and the people who arrived after us were done with their meals. The food tasted really good but my rice came in a chipped bowl. Hopefully this was just a bad day to come. Next time, I expect to have a better experience but until then, two stars because the food was good and atmosphere was nice.
Went for lunch earlier one day. The oxtails were delicious! Also went at night and the entertainment was nice. The stamp and go was great and the curry goat was good too. Drinks were reasonable and refreshing!
The ambiance was great. They had karaoke and a great band. Me and my Birthday Squad made it a Great Time. The service was slow. The waitress was ok. The food was okay because it wasnt piping hot when they served it.
Food was really good, I didn’t enjoy the rice and beans too much however the curry goat and cabbage and my rum punch was so good, the views from this restaurant are amazing, beautiful scenery and lovely vibe to the restaurant and it’s not far from Montego Bay airport.
The food was great! The scenery was beautiful! The wait staff was so pleasant! This is definitely a place Ill be visiting whenever Im in Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hidden gem in Montego Bay. I had the oxtail (delicious!and my partner had the fried red snapper, also amazing. Everything was really tasty, favorite restaurant in the area.
Had an amazing experience. This spot has very good authentic Jamaican food. It is not far from the airport or beach. Always has good music and sometimes live performers. Very busy especially in the night. Prices are reasonable. Can pay in JMD or USD. Closes pretty late and can call in orders as well. Oxtail was falling off the bone!!! Try the mango spicy sauce on the tables as well. Delicious!
Yum! Yum! Yum! The food was SO GOOD! The ambiance was nice! The service... a tad slower than wed liked, but you DEFINITELY want to check this place out if you are in Montego Bay! I can vouch for the ceaser salad, brown stewed fish and margarita. That fish was DELICIOUS! 😋
The food was not great and the service was bad, hopefully the service and food would have improved based on promises made by the manager. That is why they got two star instead of one
Definitely going back, service was second to none. Food was very delicious and I loved the fact that if you order fish, you have the ability of going to the kitchen area and choose the fish you would like to have. Never had that experience in all my years of eating at any restaurant globally.
Most amazing, traditional Jamaican cuisine! You are looking for oxtails? You want some curried mutton (aka goat)? Then you gotta check out this spot literally nestled in a tree, on the side of the hill.
Peppas was suggested to us by our driver and the food did not disappoint. The Sevich (fried fish with onions and pepperswas the best dish I had on my entire stay in Jamaica. The staff was very nice and attentive. It was a really nice place to enjoy good food and a cold tropical drip on a hot day.
Cozy setting with delicious food. We had the jerked pork, curried shrimp and pork tenderloin all of which tasted great. Its a nice place for friends to hang out in a relaxed atmosphere. We also received great service on our visit. Our server Cassandra was very efficient in seating us and taking our orders etc. Overall, a decent place to hang out and grab a bite.
Group of friends from work. The food was not bad but it wasnt great. The prep time was way too long especially as we had kids with us who start to fidget when hungry. I may go back but havent yet.The wings were to spicy for the kids to eat, I dont remember all that was ordered
