Sprawling city park with a visitor center, a collection of native plants & colorful sculptures.
I really love this place, although last time I visited here I hear some loud bang. It kept happening for a couple of minutes then it stopped, atleast thats what I remembered. (This was from July 2019)
I really enjoy walking in Rizal Park, may it be with family, friends or girlfriend/boyfriend especially when its not raining. (When its hot, it is easy to find a shade under the trees in the park. There are the monuments of Philippine National Symbols. It is also just a short walking distance to the national museums and food crawls. You can have picnics here with family and friends and also have photoshoots. This is a must-go-to for me for foreigners because theyll see different groups of Filipinos here. Would rate this park 4/5
Its a nice place to have picnic and spend time with friends and family.
Another perfect place to relax and meditate together with nature.
I love how clean the park is. Beautiful park.and beautiful Davao
I love the nature inside the park lots of trees you wont feel the heat of the sun.. you can jog here, drink and eat. They have benches. They have grounds for kids to play. The fun part is that , its free-no entrance fee.
Its more fun in davao
Davao City should fund with budget to rebuild this park... this is a must kept open green park... historical and beautiful. Need to reconstruct and repair a lot.
Nice place to have a morning walk or jog , do Zumba , or just plain sitting and unwinding. You see lots of people here , some are falling in line for the VACCINATION for COVID 19..
Good place to visit and chill.with friends and family. Restsrooms available. Near restaurants and public transpo.
I love the beauty of this parkSo relaxing and peaceful 😊
First time in Davao City....We visited Peoples Freedom Park... Great experienced. The place is very clean and safe.Kids were playing with their families...The City of Davao is worth to travel❤️❤️❤️
Has lots of space but majority of the park looks unmaintained, rusted, delapidated, the statues paint chipping, grim and weathered. It seems the LGU only maintains landscaping trees and native plants and repainting rusting kiosks. They have taken away the exercise areas where there used to be pull up bars and weight training gym.1/5 I feel shame bringing visitors into the park.Needs a re-beautification project by the LGU.
Its nice they open again this peoples park. Lots of families, friends and couples are visiting and enjoying the park facilities and views.
Free entrance and easy to go here as a tourist 😊 the park if free for all to enjoy and get fresh air.The place is big enough for family and kids to enjoy 😉💯
Good for chill, family hang outs, and instagramable photos
its simple but its quite spacey. lots of snap-worthy displays. relaxing even tho the weather is kinda hot... lots of trees too.
Ppark is now open starting today✨
It was good and near in the Downtown (City). Sadly it was closed and the Museo Dabawenyo is contructed nearby. If you love to walk around 15 to 25mins will be good for you.
We went there for the booster shot of my son. The place is still clean and well maintained. I do hope this will be open to the public soon. 🙏
Not that I disliked this place ha. Dont get me wrong. Its just that we were not allowed to enter the premise. We were just disappointed that the Taxi driver told us that this place is already operating again. As it turned out, its being used as a vaccine facility.
As of this moment...may 14, 2022 at 12::28pm the park looks GOSH TOWN.
Its fun before pandemic. My children love it there. But its not yet open for kids because of Covid. Were waiting for the opening hope its soon coming.
After a year in Davao it is my first time to go to this place and its because of the vaccine. But anyway, the place is well maintained and clean. Even their restrooms are clean.Kudos to the City of Davao and hope many tourist can visit this place.
Such a big park! Place is good for exercising, sightseeing, picnics, group works, and just bonding with fam or friends. No entrance fee, you just have to log-in. Park is well-maintained. Tons of sculptures representing Davao City and Philippines. Also, there are several spots where you can take pictures. At the entrance, Kuya is selling this charcoal ice cream, we were like “get out we are trying this!” It’s surprisingly good! Try it AFTER taking pictures, mmkaay? Hahaha
If you wanna walk.. this place will help you lose weight. Its like a forest park in the middle of the city. GO AHEAD! enjoy and have fun with your loveones.
Its Free! One of the few free places to visit in Davao City. Its also heavily guarded so you feel really secured and protected. They close early when it rains to avoid slip/fall injury which i think is a great idea.
It is a good place to visit with your family, hang out with friends or even have your exercise routine. I would compare this place to Luneta park in Metro Manila the only difference is that It is clean, you wont see people eating inside or lying on the ground. There are a lot of benches where you can sit and enjoy chit chat with your companion. I would recommend going here if you come and visit davao. 😊👍
Upon its inauguration in December 2007, the park hosts 1,101 species of plants and trees. The main features of the Peoples park, the Durian Dome, which has a design inspired from the durian fruit. The Open Plaza hosts a rainbow walk through drive where some potted palms are displayed. The park hosts sculptures done by Mindanao artist Kublai Millan which depicts indigenous people. A dancing fountain is also present within the parks ground. It has been described as "one of the cleanest and greenest public parks" in the Philippines. The athletic oval of the old PTA Grounds was converted into a bricked walkway dubbed as "The Promenade". At the center of the walkway is a dancing fountain which is said to be the first in Mindanao and a footbridge
Davao Citys Peoples Park is a delight to tourists like moi. At the entrance, you will be greeted by the staff and asked to register. A representative from local travel company will then offer a city tour services. Our group however declined since we will travel back to Manila that same day. So to maximize our park visit,we strolled around the park and enjoyed the scenery--most especially watching the pigeons gather around young kids feeding them then fly back to their nest.🙂 Outside the park, you can eat dirty icecream with lots of flavors to choose fron like durian, avocado & charcoal!
My friends visited here Sunday afternoon.Great place to wander with family or friends. Children will enjoy playing on their Fun Park.- It is very clean.- It is also secured because guards are checking everyone going in.- Fresh air within the city.- I saw some pigeons.- No entrance fee.
I loved this place not only because it has no entrance fee but also because it has so many trees, plants and pigeons all over the park. The architecture also of the durian structure is very nice. It has many cool sculptures like that of the Philippine Eagle and Fishing Village and the Flower Garden. Since there are a lot of trees everywhere, you’ll enjoy the cool breeze even in the middle of hot and sunny afternoon. You can also feed the pigeons by buying feeds from the locals. Once you have it and put the feeds on your hands the pigeons will come flying to you. I enjoyed this place and I wish there’s a place like this at my hometown so the children can enjoy playing outside instead of putting so much attention to their gadgets and in front of a television.
Its a really good place to exercise every morning. They have zumba every saturday and sunday. Hope theyll spare budget for maintenance
The park covers an area of 4 hectares (9.9 acres). One of the main features of the park is a 425 square meters (4,570 sq ftvisitors’ center, the Durian Dome, which has a design inspired from the durian fruit. At the center of the walkway is a dancing fountain which is said to be the first in Mindanao and a footbridge. The Peoples Park was created through the conversion of the old PTA Grounds or the Palaruang Panlunsod (lit. City Playground), a sporting and events venue of the city, into a park. The conversion of the grounds into the "PTA Park" which costed ₱71 million was commenced in July 2006. The park had a soft opening in August 2007 during the Kadayawan festival. It was inaugurated on December 15, 2007 and was named "Peoples Park" which was chosen among the 918 entries of the "Name the Park" contest organized by the city government. The winning name was by Romeo Sardon, a retired engineer and seaman. In December 2007, the project was 90 percent complete, with the other 10 percent to be implemented by early 2008.
It was a fine day when I visited Peoples Park of Davao. The park is closed, and will open by 1:30pm, I dont know why but the staff are busy for some preparations that is why they are restricting visitors, I told them that I came from Bukidnon and my bus bound home will leave by 2PM. It was around 11:30AM when I arrived there. They looked at my ID and finally let me in. The park is clean and well maintained, bleachers are everywhere. Nature is preserved together with the landmarks relevant to what Davao can offee. They even have restrooms for kids. They also have a playground. This place is good fpr family picnic on a fine day, though parking is quiet limited outside the park.
I was amazed that the place is still so alive with visitors even if it was late in the evening. I see families sharing their meals there, children playing or just roaming around & taking pictures. Security is also in place so it feels safe to visit even at night.
Very safe place to hang out even at night. Good place to have some jog in the morning and even in the late afternoon. They also have a mini-park for kids to play. After the morning jog, try the local taho which tastes really good.
The biggest park in Davao city! This is where most of the people go. You may do jogging early in the morning, appreciate the artworks, and enjoy the lightings in the evening. I am super amazed of the lights installed on the floor because it is so colorful and its dancing. This park is very clean and secure. Also, this is where big events of Davao are held.
It is a huge park in downtown Davao City. People come here to jog, chitchat with friends, and join Zumba. It has a well paved paths for jogging. Toilets are also available both for kids and adults. Benches are also available under the shade of trees. Sculptures of artist Kublai Millan can be found in the park. At night, a light show can be observed inn the walkway of the Park from its entrance.
Nice place to spend time. Opening time is 1pm. Entrance is free. Good for children with play area. Good thing is that no vendors allowed inside park.
Good starter pack if you visit Davao City where you can interact with locals. The place is clean and ideal for picnic with family and friends. There is a playground where kids will surely enjoy. They also have public CR just in case. The place is also near 7/11 where you can buy snacks. Some photographers come here and offer their service so you should not worry if you dont have a camera with you. In the exit area you can find well prepared streetfoods which are very affordable and the main exit actually is a PASALUBONG store where you can find the local products of davao city. They also sell souvenir items such as T-shirts and keychains. No entrance fee.
Im going to be realistic here. This park is just a normal park. Ive been to so many parks in and outside the country and i find this a little overrated. I still recommend you visit the place if youre a tourist because theres nothing much to see in Davao City area.ProsPlace is free to the public. They have clean rest roomsThey have childrens playgroud, a perfect for family gatheringsThey have fish pod with koi fishes and doves and most areas are cleanIts near pasalubong center (well, you are required to go in the pasalubong area so you can get out of the park)Their staff is very helpful and friendly.ConsPlace is boringSometimes, especially in the afternoon, it can get overcrowded. It happens to be the playground for dance rehearsals, picnic which is good i mean thats wonderful i just wish its bigger.Though most area is clean, they need to do some repainting some of their statues are broken and need fixing.I wish it was greener i mean they need 5o plant more trees and more grass and more installation of arts to attract more peopleThey should have a separate place for the pasalubong center and open the south gates for people to easily get outItems in the pasalubong center are mostly expensive and few on display.Overall, place is okay. Its clean and well-manned. Also good for killing time. One can easily get bored tho.
The park is large and lovely. Theres a big play area for kids, a childrens library, lined and paved oval for jogging, lots of benches available for enjoying the scenery of the area. We stayed in a nearby hotel and we had our morning strolls here every after breakfast as there is fresh air, cool view, and they also have a fish pond to admire. If your lucky, you can also join the free zumba class being conducted at the park.
Clean, green, safe and a great "quick" escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle. Once inside I can hardly notice that I am still in the middle of the city since the park is surrounded by tall and green trees. The air is fresh and the rainbow colored oval jogging/running tracks are filled with fitness bums from all walks of life especially early morning and late afternoon. There are food stalls beside the park including the Pasalubong Center. Peoples Park is indeed a Great place for families and friends to unwind and just relax. Also a must visit for tourists and travelers for a complete Davao City experience 👌
Peoples Park is the perfect place to get fit. You can jog here early morning and during at night until ten oclock in the evening. I prefer to jog at night because the atmosphere is cooler.
Havent been here for 14 years. This was also called or used to be PTA Grounds. Before this was just a wide lot area where most of the events are being held, exhibits and stuff. Now, it has beem so better. Literally a park where you can sit down and relax, a playground for the kids, you can even jog around. They also have a pasalubong section which leads to the exit.
Its good for kids and a very comfortable place to spend time with family. Staff are so friendly and a well maintained orderliness and a children friendly park. Just follow the rules and submit yourself for inspection. Better not to bring marker or any sharp object. Food is available at the exit area.
Good place for samll family picnck. Manu rides and swings for children. Can spend fer hours with family and children. Restroom facilities are also available. You can get some quick bites.
It’s nice to know that there is no entrance fee going to this park. Park also employs our brothers and sisters from the PWD sector, so two thumbs up for that. it is very spacious, clean and well maintained.
Popular place for joggers. Also good place to bring young kids since they just renovated the playground. They also added these colorful lights on the ground. If only they would bring back the dancing water fountains and the waterfalls and maintain/clean the koi pond, it would be 5 stars.
