Super great people, Chicken wings rock , We just wish the smorgasbord could open again !

The buffet is still not open but their dishes were delicious and plentiful.

Wow very disappointed. Dinner for my brother in laws birthday. Drove all the way from peachland, got home and did not get our order right, missing items, spent a to n of money for 8 people, sweet and sour chicken balls, no sweet sour, or even chicken balls, when we called they were so rude, the lady said “ more money, sauce more money!” We paid for it!!! I can’t believe how rude customer service has become. 3 fortune cookies for 8 people,, 3 soya sauces, non of the dishes were marked as we ordered some dishes with no msg. The lady yelled at us on the phone and called names, a worker there! Unbelievable. Never ever again.

We didnt stay. Unfortunately we were hoping for the buffet but no where on their site or property does it say its not running. We were told maybe spring due to staff shortage

They still dont have a buffet open, which doesnt really suit their name. Food was excellent a couple weeks ago when I went, but this time smaller portions and not a flavourful.

Came in when they opened at 11:30 am and was excited as usually that early, food are freshly cooked.Guess what! My family and I were so disappointed and they served us heated food!!!We ordered 4 items and the salt and pepper seafood was the worst! The food was re-heated and served to their customer. Rubbery on the inside and really crunchy and hard on the outside. They dont serve you freshly cooked food. Probably a left over from the day before and was re-heated?!?!Not sure why this restaurant is claiming their the best in Penticton - Trust me, Ive done so many restaurant reviews and so far this is the worst.Dont waste your money, its not worth it. False marketing claiming to be the best! what a joke.

I was really worried about ordering from here as I have had terrible experiences from both buffet places in the past during covid times.I called to check that they honor their 10% off for pick up orders on take out.She clarified that its only 10% off on full priced menu items. So no combination orders.That makes sense.I put in a $73 order and only paid $66.95 so I wasnt complaining there.The food was fresh and what you would expect from a local chineese restaurant.Much better experience from the last time I ordered here.The broccoli was cooked in the beef and broccoli.I ordered the dry pork ribs and the honey chicken.A pork chowmien was flavorful and full of porkand a small steamed rice that was fresh.The 2 egg rolls were crispy and restaurant made.No complaints from the food.I was also given a free chowmien for ordering over $50 of food.That was a pleasant surprise.Ordered at 5.30 and was told to pick up at 6.30 and food was ready.Will definitely buy again from this location when we are feeling like some chineese food.

Wouldnt honor their 10% off for pick up, and two dishes had spoiled pork in them so they had to be thrown away. Just a shame I couldnt give them zero stars. First time I tried them- never again!!

Had mushroom chow mein and wowzers was it delicious

Big disappointment; no Buffet, no 10%off early bird special, cob webs in the dirty windows , a grey short hair on my wife’s food and the waitress said it was my wife’s (she has brown hairNot impressed 🤬

Really unimpressed with the quality of food. We ordered take out and the fried rice have a huge dead fly. It was really gross!

No buffet available, but the good was good and the staff was great.

Food was ok, but watch out for the online order system as they automatically add 15% tip. Skipped by the prompt as I was going to tip upon delivery... Before we realized it was added to the charge. What makes it worse is that when called about it the woman said you should have called in vs using online ordering..... 🤯🤯

It might be time to change the name of your restaurant. Penticton buffet is no more. I have been asking for over a year and get a different story each time as to why the buffet is not back. Today I was told they have no workers & maybe or maybe not in a year it will be back. I personally have never eaten their food but Im a buffet lover so that is why I keep asking. Im not going to ask anymore because its clear its not coming back.

Really old and outdated, food wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either. Waitress and hostess were very kind.

People go to a chinese restaurant for chinese food, not western food. I dont know why they put canadian food on it when they could be putting even more chinese food on the buffet....say like ginger chicken and perhaps some more seafood choices for the seafood lovers. However, I do really like eating there, but I guess since the pandemic, there will be no more Buffets for us. *sad sigh*

Sad to say, I used to like this restaurant. We ordered delivery tonight through Skip the Dishes, and the food was extremely underwhelming to start with. Dry S&S pork, flavorless chicken chow mein and the worst was the deep fried prawns which looked and tasted like they had been in the buffet table all day. Lo and behold, 4 hours of stomach nastiness later and it was shooting out both ends. I am extremely dissatisfied and disgusted that this was passed off as food to a paying customer. Will NEVER eat there again.

Prawns were very dry n occasionally burned, almond chicken was overcooked, service was fast n everything tasted good. Staff was very courteous and took care of all our need efficiently, great people, decent food wot take much to be a 5 star.

Ive ordered a variety of dishes twice from Penticton Buffet and have been pleased with everything. The Beef & Broccoli is delicious featuring lots of tender beef slices and fresh broccoli. I tried this restaurant because the Chinese food place I ordered from before began to use leftover already prepared beef in such dishes and dried out previously cooked stringey chicken pieces in their diced chicken with almond. These practices may save money but makes the dish unpalatable and loses customers. Penticton Buffet wont lose customers as long as they continue to put out the tasty meals we have had delivered.

Was incredibly delicious!! Got enough food to feed an army, best wonton soup I’ve ever had!! Staff is so friendly 😀 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

Our first time to order lunch here since we were from out of town. We didnt know that our order was more than enough for 3 people. The owner who took our order told us, "lots of food" when we were going to add Dim Sum to our individual orders. She was indirectly telling us, "see how much food you ordered first before you add another dish", which was very kind of her since their "truly yummy😋 food" was more than what we could eat for lunch. Other restaurants would normally just take orders indiscriminately because that would be good for their business, but here they really care for their clients wallets too! 🤗😇😘

Great food, huge portions for lots of leftovers, and the best wonton soup Ive ever had! The wontons werent soggy at all, like they are at most places.

Tonight my family ordered $60 worth of food. For 2 adults and 2 children... but it was completely dry. The rice and noodles definitely looked like they were reheated from a previous service. When I got upstairs to check if theres leftovers, my 4 year old niece told me "grandma took the food back cause the rice was disgusting." Then my mom and brother returned with no food because the lady wouldnt refund them, not even half of the cost. All the manager offered was 1/5 items to be redone.... not very nice!! So I guess Im making itchiban for dinner ~ hope they dont wreck anyone elses night, like it did my familys.

Received moldy lemon chicken , I am refused a refund. Told I can only be made another, we don’t want to eat period because of how disgusting that is.Luckily I was the first to taste this foul dish and the children of the house didn’t get as far

Like some others, I was worried about the reviews when ordering. Using Skip, I ordered the dinner for one A (chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, deep fried prawnsas well as a spring roll. Overall it was good - fresh, not greasy/oily, and no surprises when it comes to flavours or ingredients. A very basic adaptation of standard Canadian-Chinese fare, but thats all I expected. Only disappointment was the prawns, there was way too much batter and it was overcooked.

Honestly I was hesitant with the reviews I saw but I took a chance and ordered on Skip. The food was delicious. Honestly the best sesame chicken I’ve ever had. HUGE pieces of white chicken meat and not too sweet. Well done Penticton Buffet! My only suggestion is to add soy sauce or an option to write a comment in the Skip App.

We ordered 4 takeout individual combos, and the sweet and sour sauce from the pork was on the outside of all the containers. Not to mention the sweet and sour pork was so tough was hard to chew. But on the plus side the fried rice was stellar. I wont go back cause I dont like to deal with mess or I would have cooked at home.

I think they buy low quality food and recycle the oils they cook with or do not replace oils. Any time I eat here I throw up. Be careful because I suspect they cut corners and do not use fresh oils and instead reuse old oils to cook food which could make some people sick like myself

What a great meal! The food was so fresh and tasty. What I really like was everything had an individual taste. Some restaurants everything tastes the same. The ginger beef and sweet and sour pork was amazing! The chop suey vegetables were cooked perfectly and they did not skimp on meat. The service was friendly and prompt.Just ate some leftovers and they were as good as the first day!We have been eating at another Chinese restaurant in town, but this is now our new favorite!

Food is the same its been for the past 5+ years.. typical north American Chinese food greasy, filling, always have leftovers for the next day. Was extremely tasty i definitely have to mention that also

Ordered Penticton Buffet for the first time tonight via Skip the Dishes. We were looking for Chinese food and this restaurant had the best rating on Skip the Dishes. We were extremely disappointed. The food had very unusual flavours (ie. turmeric in the egg roll, fried rice with no soya sauce). The egg roll and chicken balls had substantial bright yellow oil dripping off of them. One hour after consuming our meal, we are both left with an upset stomach. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

This used be my monthly Chinese food food take out when I lived in Penticton for yrs. I moved to Kelowna was in Penticton for the day and wanted good Chinese food so my friend and I went there. Greasy pork rolls and tell you the truth the quality of the food went way down since I was there. I felt we were rushed. We ordered our food and had to pay Even before we got any food. My friend said new owners bought it a few months ago. NOT GOING THERE AGAIN

Everything is delicious! The honey garlic chicken wings are the best Ive ever had! Cant wait for the buffet to open again, thanks for a lovely time tonight!

This restaurant is close to the beach. The dishes are big and affordable. As of June 21 2020 there still was no buffet. Still, Combos a, b and c are great.

We usually eat in and it’s always been so so for a small town buffet. Tonight we ordered delivery and undoubtedly the worst take out experience ever. Ginger beef was so hard even a steak knife wouldn’t cut through it. Likewise with the lemon chicken. Called and was told she would let the kitchen staff know and sorry about your luck. Won’t be going back nor ordering in and definitely won’t be recommending this place.

Best Chinese food buffet there is in the Okanagan! The Owners & Staff, always greet you with a smile, they remember their regulars & always have a kind word to say. If there is anything you want refreshed on the buffet, you just have to ask & they will make some more. I recommend this business!

Went there to meet with family as they had the smorge I had a coffee and pop. Instead of throwing out a special order of chow main someone at the table ordered I finished the bowl. To our shock we were charged for a full meal for not WAISTING the food. They would rather us throw it in the garbage than let someone finish the meal. Disgusted with this place and there food was really terrible. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again nor will I ever recommend going there.

Great food and friendly service in a casual and warm setting

The quality of the food is inconsistent. When they get it right the food is fantastic but half the time it is terrible. One order was extremely greasy. Last night the almond chicken was tough and like chewing rubber. Will not be ordering again.

First time getting delivery from here.Lady who took the order was lovely and very helpful.Young man who delivered food was pleasant and very personable.Food was less than average sad to say.Broccoli and Beef was warm only.Sauce not sure what that was as I asked for black bean sauce but geletatenous.Chicken dish second piece in tasted moldy.Not happy.

This place was not near as good as I expected it to be. The buffet food did not feel very fresh. Old and mushy meat. Went to the bathrooms and I have to say that they were the dirtiest most disgusting bathrooms Ive seen in a long time. I wouldnt even let my young son use the toilet, it was that gross. Definitely wont ever be going here again.
