Grilled sub sandwiches, fries & fresh-squeezed lemonade star at this counter-serve chain.
Always get the best experience when visiting this location. Outstanding employees for sure. The food is always freshly prepared with love.
It just wasnt good service....... Im being nice by saying good & the sub was far from like in Philly..... Meaning the size of the large was small
The three young men there were very professional. The store was clean, the food was great. We go there from north county weekly, the food is good.
Everything was good except I didnt receive my medium fry with my order and when I tried calling no one would answer the phone...
Fast service, friendly staff. Very clean inside and food was absolutely delicious.
Pretty good, fast, great location, its right next to 5 guys
Employee was sweeping near my food whole it was being prepared after eating my sandwich I got sick never ever eating it again
These guys are trying there best food was hot and good , just a lil wait must definitely will be back
Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat but not particularly fast. If youre in a hurry I suggest you order ahead. Food came out hot and fresh but everything even the fries are made to order. Makes for a better meal but doesnt make for the quickest one.
I wanted four mini sandwiches they refused to make them then we wanted one long one asked him to cut it into fours he refused to cut it
Good food but pricey. It cost $15.53 for a 9 inch sandwich, small fries, and medium drink. They do not have combo prices unless it is the monthly special.
Fast and friendly service.Good food
This particular Penn Station location has let my family and I down for the last time. It seems that no matter how many times the employees turn over they just cant get it right. My daughter had a very unpleasant and traumatic experience there with her father in which the employees yelled profanities at her father, and just now I had an experience in which they incorrectly prepared a Doordash order and when I went into the store (despite being ill and not feeling like going outthey refused to remake the incorrect sandwich even though I had both the sandwich AND an order slip that clearly stated how it was supposed to be prepared. I will never return to this location and I suggest that you find somewhere else to eat as well. If you must eat at this Penn Station location, be sure to check your order before leaving because they do not pay attention to specific requests and the customer service there is terrible.
While the staff is nice food is OK. Got the cheesesteak and fries. Fries have way too much of a seasoning salt, so if you like that you will be fine.
I have no idea what is going on at this location. None of the employees were wearing masks, playing music off their phones, and just had an unwelcoming vibe. We left before we ordered.
Staff told me they couldnt take my order because just one of their touchscreen terminals wasnt working. The entire dining room was already prepped for closing with all the chairs on the tables so I am a bit skeptical.
Workers are rude and short. I interacted with 3 different employees and all of them were rude. When I asked for my receipt one of the workers complained that he couldnt hear me because of my mask. And even after I got my receipt I could hear him continue to loudly complain about MY mask even as I was at least 10ft away.
Chicken teriyaki and well done fires!
When I arrived, other people were eating in the dining room so I assumed the dining room was open. I sat down for like 5 minutes and was yelled at that the dining room was closed. There was no sign of anything saying it was closed so I was confused on why they had to yell it. Won’t be coming back. They need to learn how to talk to their customers.
Worst service Ive ever had at a PennStation.Ww came in 80 minutes before they closed..they close at 9, we got there at 6:40. No one in line ahead of us, we waited 6 minutes till someone took our order. The cook who was standing there (working on one online ordernever acknowledged us at all. Didnt say hello, didnt get a coworker to come take our order. A different coworker came from their prep room, saw us and took our order. We went to sit down to eat and another worker yelled at us that the dining room was closed. From 15 feet away. Didnt take 30 seconds to walk around and inform us, just yelled. There were no signs on any tables, windows, doors, registers, counters, drink fountains, or walls that said the dining room was closed. I double checked.Food was good but they messed up my order. I wont be back to this location again.
Even BEFORE 6 other customers walked in after my dad and I placed our order, the woman at the 1st register With the locs had an attitude with my dad as he was ordering our food. How and why do you already have an attitude with a customer when they dont have an attitude with you and they just walked in seconds ago??? I went back up to the counter to order a lemonade for him and I was told to go to the second register at the end by the guy making the sandwiches and I over heard him say “ we dont need to be bothered with that “ to the lady with the locs who had an attitude also prepping food. Okay, Made sense but the attitude wasn’t necessary or the “we don’t need to be bothered with that” comment even if it wasn’t said to me directly, I still heard it and was given an attitude by everyone i talked to except the person at the very end of the counter at register 2. My dad went back up to the counter to order fries that was supposed to be added to the order when we originally placed it and the woman at the 1st register with the locs just pointed to the other end of the counter instead of using her words
I arrived at 9:15 p.m. to this location that does not close until 10:00 The door was locked and the workers were watching me from inside and would not let me in. The sign on the door clearly stated that it closes at 10:00 which is the full 45 minutes from now. I called them and they wouldnt answer the phone.
Good sandwiches, prepared quickly and fresh.Edited... showed up tonight to order a sandwich and they closed and locked the door as I was walking up at 9:15. 45 minutes early... not cool
Arrive, no greeting or indication I exist. Guy walks up and leans with his hand burned in his cheek mumble s and ask me was I want I cant understand him. Then he gets irritated he has to repeat himself. I never post reviews but I will never be back. I would have walked right out of I wasnt hungry. So unprofessional
On two separate occasions, Ive been absolutely astounded by the lack of professionalism and outright disregard for customer service at the St. Louis, MO, Hanley Rd Penn Station. Here are both of my experiences:1. [8/11/21] Arrived with no greeting or acknowledgement. Waited two minutes before anyone came to the register although multiple workers saw me enter. Greeted the person who eventually came to the register and received no response other than "what is your order". After placing order, which included a lemonade, no one was at the payment register. I got a lemonade cup and put tea in it for an Arnold Palmer. After returning to the register, I asked for lemonade to add to my tea. The person responded "that aint got nothing to do with me" and walked off. Ive never experienced such extreme lack of customer service. I left the restaurant and cancelled my transaction. Not to mention, Jerry Springer was playing the entire time with a female dancer on a pole.2. [6/25/21]. This incident was so unprofessional, I transcribed it and sent it to my friend while it happened.Lady standing right next to register: "somebody come take orders"Man waiting to order: you dont take orders?Lady: no I dont. I have to close the store tonight (its 2:30pm). Im not doing all thatAfter this, a man finally came out to take orders. During the middle of taking the order, he abruptly left while yelling "I cant take this anymore" and walked out of the store. Myself and the other folks in line were completely shocked. The original lady who did not want to take orders was annoyed but did not seem to be shocked. She came back to the register and finished taking orders. I believe the man who walked out abruptly is the same man who refused to get the lemonade in the most recent incident.Overall, I enjoy Penn station. I tried it for the first time a few months ago in Indiana and thought the food was delicious. However, I will never return to the Hanley location after these of my only two visits have been absolutely unacceptable.
Place is cool, but employees are somewhat rude. Went to order and guy walked up and was clear and concise but didnt look up once. Went to pay and lady was like "put yo chip in" literally first thing she said. Then when food came out she said "here you go" I said thank you then she replied "hmm mmm"
Workers are rude. Tried to place an order 45 mins prior to closing. When i was lied in employees was visibly upset. One of the employees walked to the counter and stated we about to close. So i asked what does that mean.” She said it depends on what you want, we are not making fries.” The workers said they are no longer making fries. Which was fine with me. And i asked did they want to make the sandwich because i understand it’s a hour until closing. However, The other worker who is cooking the food was upset that didn’t stray me from getting serviced. So she began snatching gloves and putting them on. Once she did that i left. Based off her behavior i didn’t feel comfortable with her preparing my food.
Got my food 10 minutes after the pickup time I was given. Get back to the office and its the wrong sandwich, receipt on the sandwich had the correct order on it... Got to more consideration into your work.
Good food...bad service recently. Not sure what changed, but my last few visits over the last month or so were less than impressive. And the bad attitude seemed to come from what appeared to be a manager that didnt want to be there.
Great location, great team members. Only reason not 5 stars is they dont answer the phone to place pick up orders. Several weeks now call and call, no answer.
The service was extremely long. We waited for about 15 minutes for a sub. The fries were cold and the Chicken Parmesan sandwich wasnt that good. It lacked alot of flavor. The cashier was supposed to give the Military discount, but after receiving our order and the receipt we realized it wasnt there. Went back and asked her how much was the discount, she said 10%, but the receipt did not show any discounts. A waste of time and money.
Got Food Poisoning quickly after eating Philly Cheesesteak on Sunday. Still sick today. Shouldve followed my first warning, when I remembered a month or so earlier, someone not wearing gloves to make my order.
Subpar experience both with the food and customer service. Food took too long, they closed the store down and turned off the sign at 7:30 pm as soon as we left (closes at 8), and 3 out of the 4 employees (including the guy making our foodwere wearing their masks incorrectly under their mouth and noses like a chin strap, which was almost comical, except for the sign on the door stating that masks must be worn at all times. Why wear them at all? Would not recommend.
Two employees were working this evening when I went to pick up my order. Neither employee was wearing a mask at all! According to the sign on the door you must wear a mask to enter. Why are the employees exempt from this? With regards to the food, the bread on our hot subs didn’t even seem toasted. Fix the settings on the toaster!
Great taste, worth every penny. Is a pricey combo(WHOLE sand, fries and drinkcompared to other sandwich shops but quality is over quantity. Also, something different because there arent many locations
The food is good, the wait is a little long but nothing terrible. The restaurant is clean and well-kept. I think the staff could be a little more professional which is the only thing that knocks this down a peg. They are really kind and courteous to the customers and seem to try and take care of them. However, they sometimes have conversations that no one wants to hear a little too loudly. Its happened on multiple occasions.
Update: this location is now using the old style, good bread. Changed rating to 5Used to be great, now its merely good. They changed the bread from French style to some kind of ciabatta / French hybrid thats not nearly as good. I dont know if they still bake it in-restaurant but it doesnt seem as fresh. They changed the 6" sub to a 5" and now call it "small" to hide the fact. Ill still eat there but its not the great sandwich shop it used to be.
During my only visit here, they forgot the toppings on my sandwich, then dumped the entire order of fries top down into the bag which made it a greasy mess. Overall, the staff seems a bit undertrained. They also make it sound like the $1.25 cheese is included with your sandwich - that should be mentioned by staff rather than customers finding out at the checkout counter.
Clean, fast, tasty and super friendly. The staff is always enjoying themselves and create such a happy vibe! Even when customers came up with complaints, they handled them with poise despite the customer being inappropriately rude.
Absolutely Fantastic Service, Great food and the store was so CLEAN you could literally eat off the floors!! Ive absolutely never in my life seen a restaurant so CLEAN in my life!! They should win a reward for the cleanest store!!
The one thing that spoiled my visit is level of cleanliness. Whatever happened to the use of hats or hair nets when you are preparing food? If you have long hair (all hairand/or a lengthy beard it should be contained. Please wash your hands between the storeroom, the register and touching my sandwich.
I have tried a number of there subs. I like most of them. This round was the club and the sausage. I really liked the club its the Best sub I have tried from them. On the flip side the sausage was the worst one. I was shocked at the different. I had the club first and then sausage and it couldnt compare. Major let down. End of the day get the club it was amazing.
Cant be compared to subway. Kinda has the firehouse sub vibe. Pretty good but I dont think the fries need to fried that long
I gave them 2 stars because Im extremely disappointed that EVERY TIME I go in there, and it isnt just this store, its every store, especially on double point day, it seems, I can never get into my app to get my points ??? I dont know WHY ? I can get into my app any other time ? But not on double point day ???Its really aggravating. But I LOVE the food and the people that work there are very nice and friendly. The store is always clean and comfortable to sit & eat. I cant say enough about the food, its AWESOME !!! I LOVE the Italian sub & the fresh cut french fries are to die for if you like fries !!! & the fresh squeezed lemonade is pretty good too !! Its especially good on a real hot St. Louis day !!Sorry, dont take the 2 star against the food, it has NOTHING to do with the food , the food is ALWAYS AWESOME !!! :)Its because of the app problems I always seem to have with them :(
Love the location but I came in about a week ago at 9:05 pm and they close at 10. The guy taking orders about threw a fit as if Id walked up while they were locking the doors or something. Then two other couples came after me. I was lucky enough to watch him have his own personal little tantrum for each couple. Extremely unfriendly.
Not thrilled with the customer service at this location. Went with my son to do a carry-out order and we were the only ones there...however, the manager never greeted us and was gruff when I told him what we wanted. Felt as if we were a burden. And the prices!! Whoa. Two medium fries and two 12" sandwiches came out to just over $25. And that was AFTER getting half off one sandwich. The food was good but we can get a better value and friendlier service elsewhere.
Some of the reviews on them are just weird...like the person who insists on gloves! As long as your hands are clean and you wash them methodically just as people in the restaurant industry do...its fine. Anyway... this place is AWESOME. Customer service very good. And they bring the food to your table! Awesome! Good food. Got a bottled water instead of soda and was a buck twenty five. So, good!
The food was good... However, the girl who made my sub did NOT have gloves on while handling my food.. actually, let me be honest, NOBODY did.. except the cashier. I have been in the restaurant industry for many, many years and know that this is 100% against health regulations. I would NEVER be allowed to let any of my staff in my restaurant even attempted to touch anybodys food without gloves on!
The customer service was horrible. An employee named ?Dolavan? was rude to my 10 year old daughter and refused to assist us in getting a simple refill of lemonade. He told me to seek out another employee to get our refill Unfortunately, the other employee was busy visiting with a friend in the back of the dining area. By far the most infuriating dining experience Ive encountered. I implore the management to spend additional training on basic customer service.
Overall the food is decent, but I do not know if it was worth the $10 I paid. A medium drink, a small fries and a 6" sub just does not seem like it should cost that much. The food was tasty, although it seems like it was rushed as the lettuce and tomatos appeared tossed onto the tray and were not on the sandwich when I received it.
