Pelican Waters Tavern in Caloundra

As a long time local I forgot why I stopped going here. Tonight I remembered, stood looking at the bar staff chatting to themselves ignoring us waiting to be seated, they were far from busy. Then copped sarcastic attitude from the waitress... real shame the place has gone to the dogs

Crispy skin duck? Definitely the worst duck I’ve ever had. Rubber skin and overcooked duck. Just terrible.The seafood share board was a huge disappointment, just thawed tasteless prawns and bugs and teeth breaking overcooked/fried fish.We come to Caloundra 3 times a year and always have a meal here but never again.

Food delicious, service lovely. We saw management remove a few drunk lads who behaved appalling, and they did it professionally and as best they could, whilst one of the lads was swearing profanities. We were told this is rare, and it didnt ruin our night.We were lucky to get to enjoy the lovely music coming from the wedding too. Great views, we will come back for lunch to enjoy more.

I want to thank the staff members for having responsibility for the customers the were intoxicated people in the tavern. Refused service respectfully and gave refunds even through being disrespected from the customers. Great service. I believe there names were rob and Anna

Not even worthy of a one star review but since it is the only option I will write a poor review until the cows come home.Come in for my fiancés birthday, nobody being intoxicated, 2 people cut off and kicked out for ordering a meal?! 2 x drinks refused refund but food refunded?!Please explain your logic as I will be taking this complaint to the ACCC.Absolute joke of a place to visit. Rude staff, inexcusable service. Will never return and will recommend everyone I know to never visit this venue.

We purchased the seafood platter with extra calamari and some chips to share. It was nice.

Lunch with eight friends today was great. Ordering is easy with the app. Excellent and friendly service, and very tasty food.Always nice to eat at a waterfront location.

Food is awesome - compliments to the chef 100%. Service sucks, staff are rude and slow. Really such a shame.

My family and I are new to the area and decided to check out a few places around and I am happy to say Pelican Waters Tavern is hands down the best in the area for hospitality. The service was amazing, the food was sensational and the staff were so pleasant which is rare these days. This place has everything we are looking for in a local and we will definitely be back regularly with family and friends.

Basic pub food just moved into area.location great. But needs a new menu lots of deep fried. Stakes ok but need fresh made quality ingredients. Just had first and last piza like an oil bath and base factory made. Sorry have to say as I find it.

My elderly parents used to frequent this restaurant weekly. It was their weekly outing which they very much enjoyed. Unfortunately they no longer feel very welcome as the hard copy menus have been taken away and they do not own smart phones. When they questioned the assistant manager as to why the hard copy menus had been removed, he was extremely rude! He was not happy to discuss the issue and when my parents said that they weren’t happy he accused them of abusing him!!!I am more than disappointed to hear about this and given the local clientele would no doubt be on the elderly side, I would agree that this decision seems to be a rather ridiculous one. AND being rude to elderly and regular customers…. some staff members clearly need training in customer service!

You have to order food on an app, old people walked away in disgust. Feels like dining at a woolworths self checkout. Go there if you want no service at all. 0/10 the sides on the meals were tiny aswell. 15 chips and 3 leafs of small lettuce for the salad

We didnt have a reservation, not a problem. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Chicken Princess and it was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

We were delighted to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary here and had a brilliant time. Food was wonderful, staff were even better!Service was fast, friendly and warm. Thank you to the whole team.

Loved our visit to Pelican waters tavern so much , we have returned tonight. The girls in the dining room were so helpful, and obliging.The food was excellent . Anna was on duty both visits, and remembered us, she has a wonderful personality,and does a fabulous job. We will be back again

Had our reception there today and not only was the food amazing but we had 2 of the staff members designated entirely to us. They set up the reception exactly how we had asked and the atmosphere was absolutely divine. Thank you to Angel and her co-workers Anna and Arianna for making our day so special 💖

Had lunch today at our favourite pub with the family for a birthday. We always have great meals & service. All your staff are amazing & today we had special service from Annie thank you so much for making our day. Best pub on the coast.

Saturday night dinner was a very disappointing experience. To introduce an automated mobile phone app system for ordering is fine if customers would like to use such a system but to be told there are no menus of any kind displayed and that there is no choice for customers other than to use this system is ridiculous. Have you tried asking your customers whether they would like some choice ? We were told the group the Tavern belongs to have introduced this compulsory menu and order system throughout Australia and that it is here to stay !!! Lets hope other venues do not follow this trend and allow their customers some choice on how to enjoy an evening out. Could you not as a minimum invest in a large electronic board to display the menu with prices and specials ? We will look for more customer friendly venues and hopefully many other Pelican Waters locals will do the same !!!

FEEDBACK - Lunch Visit 23 June 22The 4 of us were not impressed, having no paper/laminated menus on the table. Staff advised, to see the menu we need use our mobiles. What if we left our phones in the car or at home?We come to enjoy the food and drinks, socialising with family and friends, not to play with mobiles.Pelican Waters Tavern, table manners do matter. Mobiles at the table are never acceptable.We were not happy seeing the available choice on a small screen with a limited description and should have walked out but for the sake of our visitors we persisted.There is always hope that proper menus will return we suppose, so before we think of attending again, we will call beforehand to ask if there are physical/paper menus on the tables. If not we will not attend.I will ask this feedback be passed to senior management in the hope things may change for the better in our opinion.The service by staff, the food and drink choice is great, no complaint, but you need consider your Customer sitting at the table and bring back hard menus.If I could give no stars we would.

Had lunch here today, we all had the Seniors meals and were very pleased with the size of the meals, plenty of food. The staff were very friendly. There are no paper menus, to order you scan the QR code on the table and bring up the menu on your phone and pay with your card or wait for the staff member and she will order for you on her tablet and help you.

Some of the best club food we have around this area. The menu has a few new and exciting items along with some old favorites. Great location (right on the waterand customer service was outstanding as well. Highly recommend dropping by for a meal.

Nice clean and tidy. Good selection of drinks on tap as well as all the usuals in bottle or cans. Food was great quality, size, flavour and the sides were fresh. Kids room and outdoor play area was great to keep the kids occupied before and after dinner. Pricing was reasonable and service through the ordering app was very prompt.

This venue leaves flyers on tables asking people to give them 5 stars to get a free drink or garlic bread! Didn’t eat here and would have rated it 3 ⭐️ as it has pleasant water views but found the attached offer deceitful.

Service was very good and pricing was reasonable. Would recommend. Only thing that would make a 5 star was the option to view a physical menu and order the traditional way.Over all, very good. Will visit again

Digital ordering? Down load the app? Remember lots of your customers arent in that age bracket. Just came for a meal with my 90 year old Mum, and didnt want to ring my 20 year old granddaughter for help to get a meal. Mums Seniors roast of the day was nice, my steak was 6 out of 10. Changed my rating from 2 to 4 because it was a nice reply to my post. Still not a fan of digital ordering

No printed menu, can only do online order from table to use credit/debit card otherwise cash only at counter. Who carries that amount of cash for meals!!! Staff were excellent and very helpful. Food was delicious but ordering a nightmare. Not supportive of elderly patrons at all. Not coming back .

We had dinner here and the service From Rob the minute we walked in was friendly and welcoming. Anna the duty manager was more than helpful when I couldn’t use the app and from ordering to services from her was dead set amazing. Even though the place was packed and busy nothing was a drama for her at all .I would come back just from the treatment from Anna in itself .

After a second visit to this fine establishment I have found it to be quite a nice place for a meal. The dining area has a nice open feel and good vibes all around. The staff were friendly and the manager was extremely helpful. My partner and I ordered two entrees and two main meals which were both cooked to perfection. The wings were spicy and juicy. The cheesy bacon garlic bread had the perfect amount of cheese, bacon and garlic. The chicken parmigiana had nice crumbing with a perfect portion of napoli sauce. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I will done here again and recommend you try as well.

Duck stir fry was delicious. My partner also enjoyed his steak. Easy ordering straight from the table.

Looked up a local place for lunch after the weather turned bad and ended up at the Pelican Waters Tavern. Great choice for the kids to play both inside and out while we enjoyed a few drinks and lovely lunch. Fast service and easy ordering - ordered at the bar instead of through the app and it was no trouble at all.Happily recommend for families looking for a place to enjoy their meal while the kids play.

Overall a great place to come. Coming from Sydney, I was looking for somewhere relaxed & by the water.Was told food could be ordered from 430pm, was actually 530pm - not a bit deal, was just hungry, but consistent communication goes far! Other staff seemed great, he just came across complacent.Spoke with the chef who was great & personable - took the time to give recommendations.Otherwise food & drinks came out quickly through using the app.

Been going there for years and food good, now you need to be a high tech and order your meal through an app🤷 Took a fair while to do, no staff came over to see if we had any problems. I cannot believe that at a tavern you need to be so un customer service . I will never set foot again there, they have lost me as a customer

Visited this venue while on holidays from Victoria, was greeted by the lovely Rob at the door who found us a seat outside. Food was excellent, as were the cocktails Rhianna made for us behind the bar, and I’m picky with my mojitos. Awesome view, great for a few drinks outside amongst the sunshine. Enjoyed every second!

Fabulous venue,we had a Xmas lunch with friends ,great food ,service n Staff are excellent . 10/10 beautiful outlook by the river,with the Caloundra Cruise boat docked at wharf.

Had a lovely lunch here recently. Food was good, staff were lovely. I was approached by what I assume was the Bar Manager when I was taking a few photos and she was mildly abrupt. I showed her the views and she was a little more accommodating. She still didnt seem thrilled that I was there though. Guess she doesnt understand the value I bring. Still gets a five star. Just 🙂

Easy to book online. Place was busy but we had good service and the food arrived in good time. Nice atmosphere here. Lambs Fry and Bacon; Salt & Pepper Calamari; Meatlovers Parmigiana and Humpty Boo Barramundi.

It is a lovely place. Three of us had the Seniors choice, which was Chicken Schnitzel, small amount of chip and salad, very delicious. The other two, one had beef salad and chips, the other had big bowl of very yummy chicken wings. It was ashamed that the day was overcast, as we could of sat out side by the water. Inside was great not closed in, all bright an airy. The only disappointment was our coffee & cake, my coffee was fine but other 4 were cold. Sent them back, when they came back it was drinkable. As for my cake (chocolateand the others had apple-pie was absolutely delicious, BUT it took 45 mins before it was served. They were all very apologetic & we didnt have to pay for them which was great. Drinks, I had my usual of rum & coke, some of the others had wine or just coke. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.

Lunch was a T-Bone Steak special $22.90 cooked to my liking with salad and chips.Beautiful meal and a nice cold Carlton Dry to go with it.Nice place to visit

Atmosphere nice, staff professional but not friendly. Food disappointing. The described ideas and flavours sounded excellent, but just werent executed well. Packet mix, thin gravy. Burnt (not in the tasty wayshank pie. Would not recommend.

Absolutely loved this place. We came on a Saturday for lunch with perfect weather. It’s a stunning location with brilliant food and fantastic service.Will definitely come back soon!
