When I first had peaking in 2019 it was great but I decided to Order it again this year and it was awful the rice looked and tasted different and the chicken and steak looked and tasted weird and the drinks were watered down. So ima now think twice before ordering hibachi hope this review helps
The food used to be good. Made me sick yesterday. Will not be eating here again
We ordered the Generals Tsos dinner, Shrimp Mai Fun, and Egg drop soup. The chicken tasted rancid, the shrimp mai fun was almost flavorless, and the egg drop soup had a bad smell and was as thick as jello. We ended up throwing it all in the trash because of the poor quality. We used to love the food here, but sadly we will not be ordering from here again after this past experience.
Shrimp tempura was not tempura!! It was some sort of cracker crumb with no seasoning. Hot and sour soup tasted vaguely like a watered down attempt at soup. Shrimp fried rice had a horrible burnt taste. A bite or two or each and it all went in the trash. Avoid this place.
This is our 4th or 5th time coming here. The Servers are the same, but the Quality of Food, Service of Food, Delivery of the Food, Preparation of the Food, and Overall Satisfaction has dropped with each visit, especially this last time. I felt sorry for the young girl that got fussed at by the cook, and spoken to in a very unethical and harassing way. Lawsuit material. The BBB should come investigate this place. Other customers that were here, and had come in while we dinned in, were not happy, and just as noticeably disturbed by the environment as us. Unsatisfied and Last Time for our business.
The food was not good at all. The pork in the lo mein was gray and rancid. The overall flavor was lacking in the lo mein. My wife threw the egg drop soup away due to the flavor and texture. She also ordered sushi for tomorrow and is now worried she may get sick. We ordered on a Monday and Yes was closed and figured we would give this place a try. First time trying and it will be the last time unfortunately. Service was OK due to picking up the order which was 20 minutes later than advertised which isnt a big deal but still. Too many things added up.
Not nearly as good as it used to be. New owner I believe. Bring back the old recipies and Id consider coming back. I get shrimp Lomein and it was Hella garlicky and it looked like plain spaghetti noodles.. and the crab salad was extremely buttery.. I used to get this almost every other day.. so you cannot say that what you make is the same as the previous owner... you even talked trash on the previous owner saying your stuff is better when it isnt.
Dropping my star rating. Food is alway good but the service is horrible. They waiter wasnt even dressed properly.
Food was highly overrated when advertised. Not the best soups however the fried rice was good.
Gave them another try and unfortunately the food wasnt great. The really surprising part was they made substitutions without any communication. Safe to say customer service is not important as the order was even delivered with the ticket showing the substitutions. A mistake is one thing, assuming you can just give a customer random, cheaper items instead of what was ordered is another. Would have assumed it was a mistake if it wasnt for that ticket. We wont be ordering again and thankfully the app provided a refund for the substitutions since it was half of the order.
Togo order person no help at all. No customer service and food was horrible. Wish I would have went to Yes instead but my son wanted sushi NEVER AGAIN
I enjoy this place both for the atmosphere and the menu. While stuffed in a tiny strip center it packs a big punch for the lot with its cheap prices and good portion sizes. I enjoy their sushi options and add ons that you can choose from. It’s comfy and quiet inside with spacious seating and great service. I’d definitely make my way here if you’re looking for cheap sushi!
I ordered 9 rolls to go and half of them didn’t have sauce on top as stated and when I asked for eel sauce for 9 rolls the guy grabbed TWO SOY SAUCE AND THREW THEM IN THE BAG!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again. Horrible customer service.
First time trying them LAST time trying them. Called in my order, on the phone got one price in person another, mistake number one. No acknowledgement when i came in. On the phone mistake number two.. I get home, order completely wrong!!!! Fried rice over cooked, ect ect. Yes Cafe in Youngsville so much better. Buyer beware.
This was my first time ordering from here and it will definitely be my last. I ordered through Waitr for my kids and I and they forgot two rolls, an appetizer, and all the spicy mayo. My sweet delivery guy felt so horrible and explained that was all they gave him. I called the restaurant to explain what happened. I was put on hold for 10 minutes, then told someone would call me back with a resolution and never received a call back.
Screw this place. If you order off their app you will get charged way more and they do not refund you the difference or give you extra food. This place is a joke. I was charged 50.23 on the app and my receipt from the store was 38.00.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Desiree was our server and she was absolutely fabulous. She was so sweet to the kids and really went above and beyond for us. The food was amazing as well. I always look forward to eating the food here!
I absolutely love this place, the food is so good and the staff is so sweet and fun, the bathrooms are clean and smell good, I look forward to coming here every weekend!

Literally has rotten seafood and tried to tell me it was the avocado. I just wanted to let them know that as someone with half a stomach it was extremely dangerous for me to eat rotten seafood and they should be aware of what they are serving but they laughed at me and told me that nothing was wrong with their sour fishy tasting seafood. I know it was rotten and they didnt need to shut me down. They didnt even try to listen to the complaint. I would nvr eat here. Dont do it. Not worth it for rotten food and the price.
The quotation is my first review from a couple months ago, sadly this place has fallen off. The last few time they’ve been out of sushi, and recently they are struggling to keep wait staff. It sounds as though they lack leadership and management. So say wait staff doesn’t get a cut of credit card tips.. we’ll find some place else for our Asian cuisine. Do better Peking 😕 “Good food and service, don’t over look this place.”
Food was great and our server, who was new, did an amazing job but one of the managers covered in tattoos was entirely way too rude to the new girls which was extremely unnecessary hence the 2-stars.
Best place for Hibachi and sushi in town. Very clean staff very professional, while keeping the vibes cool and calm, so you feel at home. Any mistake they do make its corrected. Although there is a language barrier they do their best to accommodate. Nice Family run business prices and food amazing!! My favorite place to eat❤
food used to be good. now its almost decent. service is terrible. order online, got there 30 minutes later and walked in, confirmed order, still had to wait, got the wrong order. ordered $40 worth of food, got $19 worth of food. on my list of never agains
Absolutely terrible service. Waited for an hour inside after ordering through the phone 40 minutes prior. Expected wait was 20 minutes. The staff was nice but over worked. The owner of this establishment needs to hire more workers!
Went here for the first time, having been patrons of the original Peking for over 30 years. Our family all had the hibatchi cooked food, and it was PERFECT. While you don’t get the cooking show, the food was excellent! We will definitely be back!
My husband and I have gone here 3 times now. Each time, the food is delicious, served hot and very fresh. The staff always goes above and beyond and is so friendly. I really, really recommend the shrimp tempura appetizer, oh my word is that good! It’s great to have such a great restaurant so close to home and so yummy. We’ll definitely be back!
**DISGUSTING** DO NOT EAT HERE!!I wasnt allowed to give this place negative stars, so i had to put one down.Everyone was required to get a temperature upon arrival as well as wearing face masks. I ordered sushi and I was facing the sushi bar while the sushi chef was prepping the sushi ingredients WITHOUT A MASK AND GLOVES!! We told the waitress what we saw and she asked us, " what do you want me to do?" We left and will not be going back.Be careful and do yourself a favor, spend the extra gas money for a better experience somewhere else.
This place is paying for positive reviews by giving discounts. Two out of last three times Ive visited, Ive gotten sick from their food. Staff does not wear masks. Online ordering does not work. You still wait forever.
I wanted to try this place out since it had decent reviews, the service was good, but I got 1 chopstick in the pack. It’s only been two hours since I got it, I ate about two pieces of my eel roll and something tasted off so I stopped eating and about 30 mins later threw up and my stomach has been hurting since. I hope that it was just maybe this batch was bad because I don’t like leaving negative reviews.
This place has really gone downhill. The egg drop soup was old and thick and dark colored without flavor, like it was reheated old soup left on a burner too long. The hot and sour soup tasted like mildly spicy water without any other flavors. The moo goo gai pan was bland, but at least better than the soups. This place has screwed up my Waitr order twice as well. The poor delivery guy had to go back to the restaurant to get the other half of my order when they marked it wrong and made the mistake. He told me they had done this with other deliveries before as well. This place used to be much better. I really wanted to give a local business a chance, but this is the last straw for me. They have lost a customer.
Food was very good, never diappoint. Due to covid19 pandemic. We were on lockdown for over 2 months. State are beginning to open back up. They just recently partial reopened their restuarant. It good to see they are to keep customers safe following the social distancing rules.
If I was rating simply on quality of food, this would absolutely be a 5 star!!! I tried Peking for the 1st time and decided to dine in so that I could take a minute to look at the menu. I decided on Hibachi Filet and Chicken and fried rice and water. The food came out quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious!! Filet was cooked perfectly, chicken was full of flavor, veggies were good and rice was spot on. Unfortunately, my fault for assuming.... but I did NOT realize that this meal was $28! To be fair, it was a decent portion. And again, the quality of the food was great. But, for lunch.... almost $30 and not even have ordered a drink is just a bit steep for me. And lastly, the server was nice. She was the server and cashier. But when I approached the counter to pay, she was playing on her phone and didnt realize I was standing in front of her waiting to pay until the owner spoke up and she quickly apologized. I wasnt "mad" about that at all - but just not the very very best service. I will definitely go again, and either try something less expensive, or at least know what I am getting myself into this time around. -1 star for price. *edit* Went a second time and the service was MUUUUCH better!!
Ordered from Waitr for the first time tonight. The broccoli was horribly bitter in every meal we ordered. The only thing we were able to eat was the lo mein and rice after picking out the vegetables. Just another place in Youngsville I give up on.
The sashimi was excellent! I had 5 huge pieces that were twice the size of any sashimi I have had. It also came with a California roll and all of this was $13.50.The atmosphere was quiet and nice with a clean dining area. The sushi chefs were visible at the counter like most restaurants , which I always like.The waitress was nice enough, but must have been in training because she did not know the food and menu at all. Also felt like she was over the job, but alas some people just arent made for customer service. She did well at bringing food and checking on us, so Ill have to give her that. Quick and good service with a side of teen angst I guess.Definitely will be back for good priced, awesome sushi.
Always an enjoyable experience at Peking Garden. Friendly wait staff and lunch specials as well. Sushi specials are well presented, abundant, and tastes delicious.
We ordered dinner with the waiter app. My wife ordered steak and I ordered the filet. When I get there to pick up the order I asked which was the filet. I was told " we were out of the filet so we put steak cause its basically the same thing". No its not. If I had wanted the steak I would have ordered it. They didnt call me to tell me they were out they just decided to do what they want. Still charging me for the filet on top of that. Never again will I give them any business.
Tonight was my first time ordering from them. I placed my order online and checked to make sure it was correct before submitting it and checked again after receiving my order confirmation. I went to pick it up and the guy at the counter gave me the wrong total trying to charge me more. When I corrected him he said "oh, yeah, youre right." When I got home I realized that my order was wrong. I ordered the beef but they gave me chicken. I called to let them know that my order was wrong and I was coming back to get the correct order. While there they basically accuse me of lying until I showed them the order details on my phone. It was 2 hours from the time I placed my order until I finally received the correct one. The food was just alright. I wasnt impressed. The customer service is aweful. The food is not that great and I certainly wouldnt be lying about an incorrect order to get a free meal from them! I wont be ordering from there again and I sure wont be recommending them.
We order often from this place and they never disappoint! Sesame chicken, spring rolls, orange chicken, beef lo mein, and shrimp fried rice are what we have tried and they are all delicious. Portions are well worth the price too. Love this place!!
Ordered to go. The food was very good. But my issue is the customer service is lacking. I pretty much felt like they didnt want my service. You can see that one guy on his phone all day by the sushi bar which is unprofessional... I would expect better service & quality in youngsville/Lafayette area since they are growing very rapidly.
Horrible customer service! Walked in, sat down to go over the menu. Waited 5 mins before I got up to the counter to tell the lady I was ready to order, looks at me like I was bothering her. " oh let me finish this". So I go sit back down. Some people walk in, sure enough she goes attends to them, get there drinks. So I wait 5 more mins, to see if she even bothers taking my order. NOPE! I left and went to the other Chinese restraunt on youngsville hwy to, they know how to treat customers.
Usually love the food at PG, but an experience last night was bad enough to never dine there again. It was busy, no doubt. The frequent arguments heard from the kitchen showed a place in disarray. All of that would have been fine if our service and food had been adequate. Both were not. The waiter was extremely late with menus and drinks, not to mention finally taking our order. Almost an hour later we started seeing later-seated customers getting their orders after a long wait. But we sat there hungry, then we sat there mad after my wife approached the sushi chef, who had not been given our order. The girl waiting on us - the one who botched our order - never apologized. Her bosses (older family members?never approached our table to see what was wrong. We left with only the sushi boxed up and half-drunk drinks that we had to pay for. Then we traveled less than a mile to Zeus, where the staff was friendly and the food was out in a few minutes. It was a refreshing change.
Good food, not my absolute favorite Asian food in town, very close, but they get the food out fast and are very nice. They have take out, dine in and delivery through Waitr. Their sushi is the best part about it in my opinion.
Food is excellent. The Hibachi meals are always superb. The staff is very friendly and always make you feel welcome. Its a great family restaurant in an excellent place for a couple to go and have a quiet pleasant meal.
I have been coming here since they opened up. The people are pleasing and the food is always great. I dont care for their putting the wasabi and ginger in the same cup but aside from that the lunch special (3 for $12is phenomenal!
The atmosphere was relaxing, with light jazz, playing in the background. Our food was well prepared & hot. Amanda, our waitstaff, knows the value of a great experience. This particular location is close to our home; and business hours seem to compliment a varied time table (11:00-22:00). Dress is whatever you feel comfortable (in). And, the value to cost ratio is very pleasing. Thank you for a delicious meal!
I love this place. One of the best local Asian restaurants Ive been to! The sushi selections seems to have more cooked options than raw, which is a bummer. But still good quality! My wife loves the General Tso chicken.
Styled like your typical, favorite take-out restaurant, youre pleasantly surprised to be greeted by someone behind the sushi bar. We arrive a little late, around 9ish on a Thursday, and were still treated with exceptional service. A server immediately came to us, and gave us time to look at the menu. I would by far say this was the nicest staff, friendliest little spot. I would recommend that everyone goes here at a least once. Great for families and even first dates!
