MoreOn the 23rd of this month, I got an opportunity to visit the Peacock Valley located at the outskirts of the city of Bhubaneswar, with my family. We reached there by 3:30 pm, by which time it was expected that the national bird of our country would be out in the open. It didn’t take us much time to reach the place, thanks to Google, but the main road that leads to the place was quite narrow. When we reached the destination, we witnessed a canvas of images, from a man painting, to people gathered around looking into the far distant. But the brightest colour was that of the man calling the peacocks and giving them their food. The place was a huge open ground with trees on both sides. We stood in the middle near a house, prohibited to move any further so as not to scare the peacocks away. There was a small hillock right behind this field, on the other side of which there was a green carpet of trees. The field where the food was given, was completely bare, but on both sides, trees had lined up which served as the home of these beautiful slender birds. We waited for the birds to come out of their homes. As the minutes passed by, came out a variety of nature’s small, yet beautiful creatures. Mongoose, House Sparrow and finally the stars of the afternoon, with a beautiful crown on their heads, walked in the slender, beautiful peacocks. In the first few minutes, one could see only 4 or 5, but as the time rolled away, many more came. After about half an hour there were around 15 of them in the bare fields, including the peahens and excluding the kids. Soon, one by one the peacocks started showing their feathers and dancing. We witnessed the divine dance of 5 peacocks and a fight of one as well.Every human standing there was spellbound at the beauty of nature in front. Those creatures were busy eating their food, but their beauty transcended every mind, and the happiness at seeing those lovely birds was one of divinity. It was a truly divine scene unfolding slowly and steadily on the earth.
MoreAmazing place to visit, calm and beautiful environment. The beauties of nature attract the hearts of all and sundry, Beautiful rights of nature are things of happiness forever. The beautiful landscape filled our souls with joy. High and snow-covered peaks deep valleys, the moonlit night, green trees, cloudy days, cool breezes delight our hearts flowing water in the river, chirping birds in the tree. Beauties of nature give us some relief from the ugliness of human society.
MoreJust speechless after seeing them roaming around so fearlessly 🥹🥰....loved this place ♥️..a must visit but would say not to utter any words or create any disturbance there🙏🏻

MoreThere is a old saying "see it to believe it" this quote is best described in the peacock valley. The relationship between human s and animals is there since ages but we see an live example of it in the peacock valley. The young boy Kanhu and his family members who happen to be the caretakers of the beautiful birds are doing a brilliant job.
MoreThis Peacock Valley was established by the peacock man of Odisha, Pannu Behera and after his death, his grandson, Kanhucharan has been carrying out this task. There are more than 100 peacocks in that place. This place is Located near the Naraj Dam
MoreYou can see peacocks in many places. But the scenery which this place beholds is beyond explanations. We called the official contact given in Google and was suggested to either be there early morning or early evening. So we were there at 4 pm. When we got out of the car the sunlight was at its peak and it was very hot. Only three to four peacocks were there. Then gradually as the sun was about to set and the atmosphere cooled down, two to three peahens came and following them seven peacocks with their feather open like a half moon started dancing and singing to attract the peahens. It was a sight to behold. Have never seen such a thing. Its a hidden jewel and a must visit.

MoreNice relaxing place. While the peacocks are wild, they gather here because they are fed on this road. Evening feeding time is 3pm to 6 pm. Maximum peacocks come in at the beginning of feeding time. You can donate a token amount to support the feeding if you want.
MoreAmazing view of Peacocks in their complete natural beauty.... Must visit atleast once...
MoreA guy just built a house and started feeding the wild peacocks in the area and now they flock every morning around 07:00AM and evening around 04:00PM for food. Passerbys just stop and enjoy the view. No barrier, no parking, no fees nothing. Just an opportunity to see peacocks in wild. Just ensure you reach at the correct time else all you will see are fields and a kuccha road.
MoreCuttack is famous for all the natural beauty around and peacock valley is just like a cherry in the top. Open area with lots of peacock around is such a beauty scene to experience.

MoreIts not a gated campus where you can pay for the entry ticket and go visit the place. Nothing is as organised as one would have imagined. Its really beautiful when there are very few visitors at a particular time frame. 2 staff members are available there to guide you where you can stand and look for the peacocks.
MoreNicest place to visit. Kanha the Peacock-Man feeding around 132 peacock twice daily since last more than 22years. Morning 5.30am to 7am and evening 3.30pm to 5.30pm. His grand father doing it earlier and after him Kanha took the charge of feeding since last so many years. Approximately 25kg of food per day. Its really a nice experience seeing him while communicating with peacock. Its around 17kms from Link Road Cuttack.
MoreIt’s an awesome place in near by Bhubaneswar and Cuttack . They are staying inside the nearby jungle. And coming to this proper place to have their food . A person / a social worker started this during 1999 and till date it’s continuing by his son . So people are extending their hands to help the person who is giving food to these peacocks. And you should also help him . I would really like to again in proper time to see more amount of peacocks and some other beautiful birds as well . These peacocks are coming to have their food whenever he calls them . Generally he calls then at morning 5.30AM and 3.30 PM. Because of the popularity of this place, he maintains the timing, so he can see the visitors in an increasing order .
MoreFeeding time is 3:30pmPeacocks are visible via 4:00pm.Bit complicated way.Ask people to recah the spot
MoreIt a rare place and seer love and dedication from Mr. Kanhu Charan Behera towards the National Bird which is helping increase the Peacock Population there. One of the most soothing pictures for eyes to watch them eat dance and enjoy in a large quantity.
MoreGood placeTo view peacock in the surrounding without any cage. They have the freedom to move here and their within the surroundingsBut yes they are only been seen according to their meal timing.
MoreSuch a good place for peacock lover.. many peacocks are coming and eating very near to you. So beautiful sight. Good time to visit is noon 3-5pm.Its in Naraj, Cuttack.
MoreSame as expected !! Max 15-20 minutes you can spend either with family or friends. Small children would really love this place. Peacocks in their natural habitat, its adorable and highly appreciable!! Take a lot of photos, but you cant cross a particular line beyond which they wont allow you. And yes, it is absolutely free. You can park your vehicle on the roadside and you can see these birds from the road itself.
MoreI being nature lover like this place very much, will get chance to have view our national bird peacock very closely, thanks to "the peacock man late shir Pannu Behera"for creating such friendly surrounding for peacocks at very close to the twin city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack..come along with and spent quality time with these lovely birds.
MoreIt is obviously amazing to get chance to see peacocks just somewhere 20 kms from your home. Take a break from your work & home and have a refreshing tour here. There are as many as 130 peacocks and peahens here. A man Kannhu Charan feeds them daily in the morning hours. Best hours to see is 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Not so far from Bhubaneswar. Its in Naraj (Cuttack). It falls sudden in the left after 2 Kms leaving Munduli Barrage in the left. There is no barricade or net to check you from them. You need to maintain distance if you wish to see. The more you approach towards them, the far they move inside.
MoreSuch a lovely and beautiful placeAt this place you can see peacocks 🦚 are dancing and playing eachother. But kindly do not go too close.Dont distrub theme
MoreGood place but they dont allow to go near to peacocks ,you can only see them from a distance. Supervisor told in weekdays you can see more peacocks spreading their feathers when they see less crowds, quiet, silent environment. Its in Cuttack near Mundali. This place became popular 1-2 years back but it can developed properly by Government as it doesnt have any name board, directions, nor any decorations/ fencing type arrangements to attract more visitors. entry fees is Free.
MoreLove this place, Must visit once to see peacocks from a minimal distance on an open place, no cages. Place best suits for every body but for children enjoyment its a must visit place. Its a road side by place so be cautious while parking cars specially.
MoreIts place one should definitely visit. It is located on the outskirts of Cuttack. You will witness hundreds of Peacocks roaming there. Its a place for nature lovers. This place just near the Road for that reason transportation is very easy. You can go there by your 2 Wheeler or car. In all seasons they usually come but the best time is in between May to September.Peacocks are usually seen at early morning(5:30 to 8:00AM or evening(4:00 to 5:45). You are not allowed to go near the peacocks as they will be furious. So observe them from a distance. There is a temple(Dhabaleswar templenearby so you can combine both of these places to visit simultaneously.
MoreA clearing where a good number of peacocks and peahens come out during the evening around 4-5pm and bless our eyes! Though theyre at a distance, you will be able to witness the magnificent birds.
MoreThe peacock valley hosts peacock in its natural ecosystem and you can drive up to the viewpoint and stop to have a look. there are no charges and the parking, viewing is totally free. Peacocks are not caged, which is what every nature lover looks forward to.It is the best open-air, free view site to marvel at the sight of numerous peacocks strutting across independently. However, recent encroachments by the government to built a poultry farm by clearing forest land is heavily criticized. Also, this spot is just a viewpoint so you should not expect public amenities to be available as it is not taken care of by the government. You can, though, get drinking water, snacks and peacock feathers to buy.
MoreYou will really see dozen of peacocks comming down from the hills to eat at a particular time in the afternoon. A very beautiful scene if you can make it in time. Do help the person financially if you can for feeding the peacocks.
