Pre-booked, weekend tours of landmark, judicial court and library built in the Renaissance style.
Feels like a job!
Hear the peace palace since I’m a kid. It’s a nice trip to here. The audio tour is necessary.
Very nice and impressive building and the sounding also worth visiting
Impressive architecture.
Went on Sunday but it’s closed though goggle map suggested it’s open. Best to call in advance to check otherwise it’s a fruitless trip.
We visited the visitors centre. Staff very friendly. Free audio tour explaining the Peace Palace and its role in world peace
Nice architecture with a big meaning for peace. A big task for humanity.
Awe inspiring! May we be better for humanitys sake.
Write a prayer and hang it on the tree of peace! But of course, nothing beats the real Palace Tour and not just a listening tour!
An amazing peace of architecture in the heart of den Haag. Not only the building itself is astonishing, but it carries a massive amount of history and values of peace unity and tolerance.Id put five stars if we could visit it at least partially, but since its closed to the public its 4 stars for now
The free 30-minute audio tour was well worth the time!
A nice free visit of 30 minutes at the cost of the visitor center to understand the history of this building and its institution. To visit the buildings, its really complicate it is only on some days when the court doesnt take place.
Very cool free tour, a great tourist resource.
It is truely a wonderful place. You will see the word "Peace" written in almost 200 languages in front of the Main Gate. Building structure is marvellous.
It was so beautiful, we liked it so much. Definitely a place to visit when in The Hague.
Unmissable place to visit while in Den Haag. Go to the Visitors center directly to have priceless information about the Peace Palace if interested. This is definitely worth it. Wonderful experience, magnificent area.
What a beautiful place! Just cant go inside ATM. Its possible from august.
Beautiful Historical and Architectural Location for the International Court of Justice.
A beautiful place to see.
Astonishing building, with amazing history! The area where you can visit for free is totally worth the time, and gives a lot of interesting background.
Free to visit the Visitors Center there was a sign to make me reservation for a tpur . Saw a few people with headsets walking around . Dont know if one is able to go into the palace though. There is a Peace flame outside with a rock garden around it . Many countries contributed to the rock gardens and approx 10 nations got together and joined flames to put in the box , where. They burn (forever?).
The world peace haven, the Palace of Peace has been the embodiment of human desire for peace since its construction and opening on 28 August 1913.It is home to th the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the United Nations International Court of Justice, the Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library. It you want to know peace, this is the place to be.
Can only be visited from outside the barbed wire fence. Still with the detour from the city center.
Wonderful building, a beauty. It was closed, but worth the trip.
Peace Palace is an International Law Administrative Building and a Worldwide Icon of Peace through Law and Order. Constructed in the early 20th century, it has been the home of International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, etc. Its Neo-Renaissance Styled Architecture, along with many Gifts from different Countries it contains, Peace Palace is a wonderful tourist attraction indeed.Because I wasnt able to view the interiors, only took this picture from outside the Gate, hence I am giving a 3 Star Rating only, Nevertheless, I have seen some online Photos which are very beautiful surely.
Visiting The Hague, Netherlands was a dream which came true. Seeing Peace Palace is a dream of every individual related to Human Rights and Law and I fortunately had it. Visited this place in Winter and found it so great. Peace Palace is also known as International Court of Justice. Loads of Love to The Hague.A Pakistani...
The history and legacy of this monument is really astounding. Went there today while on my morning jog. It was so peaceful and serene.
Completed tour twice. Very interesting and worth it. I’ll bring every family member who comes to visit.Touching experience viewing this monument dedicated to world peace ☮️ 🌍
Nice looking building but that is all it is. One cannot enter at all and the tourist reception area is not worth the trip.
Beautiful architecture, very calming concept
Magnificent building! It would be cool if they allow you to be in the gardens at least.
Amazing place! Quick stop for picture and not allowed to enter but the building is extraordinary!
I stayed near to peace palace, every weekends I used to jog to this place and as the name suggests, it gave a sense of peace and warmth to me! Its a must visit if you are in the Hague , Netherlands 🇳🇱
This building is extraordinary not only for its architecture but for what it stands for as well. I had lived in The Hague for a few months and could see its spire from my house and was intrigued by it from the day I arrived and promised myself I would do the tour. I had a visitor coming from home (Australiaso booked us in. To stand in each room guided through with our host, the depth of knowledge she passed on quite literally about everything from who donated the tiles on the floor, the sculptures and paintings and how why end when the international community decided to go ahead and build this incredibly important building. If you ever visit The Hague, this tour simply must be on your list of things to do. Even if youre staying in Amsterdam The Hague is less than an hour on the train so a day visit is easy. Do yourself a favour and check this extraordinary moving place out.
A long haul from home just to find out no entrance permission that day broke our hearts and infuriated us a little. Nobody’s to blame but ourselves, right? It’s okay ‘coz we readily made peace with the Peace Palace ☮️🤣 Quite inquisitive to behold the inside .. Maybe next time 🏰PS Book a guided tour, first‼️
The Vredespaleis is the international law administrative building in The Hague, housing the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, The Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library. While originally built to house the Permanent Court of Arbitration for settling international disputes, it grew to accommodate the other institutions. The court was in session, so I ended up only visiting the free to enter Visitors Centre of the Peace Palace, which houses an exhibition of the Peace Palace.
Went at night time due to not even knowing about, and learnt alot about this building and the flame outside. What a beautiful location!
Astonishing! The reason why Hague is known worldwide, the International Court of Justice (Peace Palace- established after the II WW, is a beautiful yet imposing palace. Totally worth sitting and enjoying the view for a while.
Truly captures peace. Be sure to make a stop to see this, even if you just intend to look at the exterior. There is a free information center which has a lot to see and hear. The exterior has a lot of symbolic art, including a peace flame, surrounded by stones of all countries. Exploring inside requires a reservation, which I imagine is very worth it.
It was an amazing place to be honest. Its location is quoet nice because. It is very near to the bus and tram stop and the location is very close to other places to visit when you are in den haag. It is such a historical place that is well preserved and also very tourist friendly. It was actually very nice tp visit a place that have so many people willing to assist you and also they are so welcoming and accomodating. Most of all, it is free with a guided tour on it. Quiet nice, isnt it?
free entry and audio guide at the visitor center area ONLY; inside the premises guided tour 11€ reserved online ONLY. beautifully presented audio guide, modern facilities & exhibits; amazingly & efficiently use of small visitor center.
The peace what we see here, so many other symbols represent so much. We love peace not war.
A nice short tour through the building. A most beautiful piece of art, architecture.Nice to visit for tourists but also a place to visit for locals and other Dutch.Parking free in the weekends, good to reach by bike or public transport.
Truly very peaceful place The Peace Palace, Hague. The court structure is humongous and picturesque along with vast green lush beautiful garden. Also there are two significant structures; first The Peace tree where people tie peace notes which is an amazing feeling to be able to notice add your own peace note and feel part of world peace and Second a peace memorial fire which has one stone from each country put around it. This is one of a kind experience to be here.
Impressive looking from the front. No tours available when we were there. Look at the web site for guided tour dates.
A must-see place if youre in Den Haag.Houses the International Court of Justice which is the judicial organ of the United Nations.Tours are available but the palace closes at 5pm.Closest parking lot is Mauritskade 700m away but you may be lucky enough to get a spot in a street nearby too.Be sure to see the World Peace Flame right outside the gates of the palace.
Unfortunately for us, the palace was in use the day we were there, so we were only able to check out the exhibit at the visitor center. Lovely place, though :-)
Amazing building, inside and outside. You can go for a walk on the outside and enjoy the calm from the garden or go inside in a guided tour.Outside they have a monument with the flame of the world peace that its worth the visit. There’s paid parking in the streets nearby and a tram stop in front of the entrance.PS: Please schedule your guided tour well in advance because normally they are completed.
Very nice and calm place. I dont know if you can go inside or not but looks beautiful from outside. On the side there is a small statue that has peace fire which is a joind flame from all contents surrounded by stones from all counties around the world
Interesting free visit you can do in a small museum in the first part of the Palace (enter from left pedestrian gatewith free audio-guides in different languages.Outside the museum also the tree where everybody could leave a "wish" and the monument with the fire and the stones coming from every country that contributed to the history of the palace (on the right before entering the property).
